KION, Mar 17, 2016 (emphasis added): Sea lion moms and pups struggling to survive…  Bay Net, a volunteer group of naturalists, are keeping a watchful eye on them at the Hopkins Marine Station in Pacific Grove. They say the start of the season has been rough. “Some of them have been way too thin to have a healthy birth and have enough milk to feed it,” said Bay Net volunteer Thom Akeman. So far this season 13 pups have been born but none of them have survived. Many seals are underweight and starving, suffering from a shortage of food in the Pacific Ocean… “When they get extremely thin they’re open to all sorts of illnesses and infections,” said [volunteer Marg] Brigadier … The group Harbor Seals of Pacific Grove has been documenting the unusually high rate of dying pups on Facebook.

Chronological updates from Facebook page ‘Harbor Seals of Pacific Grove

  • Jan 25: The first live birth hit Hopkins beach… [The mom] was not nursing it… The pup is very premature and does not appear fully developed…
  • Jan 26: The premature pup from last night was gone. It had been washed away but there was a second premature birth… [The mom] clearly did not have any milk… what concerns us is the overall look of the seals. So many of the seals appear thin
  • Jan 30: I am sorry to report that our 3rd premature pup was born… This was by far the smallest pup I have ever observed. It did not last longer then [sic] about 5 minutes.
  • Jan 31: [W]e had our 4th premature pup born at Hopkins Beach… [it] died very quickly…
  • Feb 3: We continue to see very thin adult seals
  • Feb 19: Our 5th premature pup was on the Hopkins beach tonight [and] will not survive…
  • Feb 23: Two more premature pups were born… I will spare you the photos… no moms were able to care for them… Saturday, a very young emaciated sea lion pup was discovered at Lovers Point. Washed ashore on the beach were a lot of red crab… if this trend continues in our oceans, many, many more animals will perish
  • Mar 4: [P]remature pup #8 was born… and yesterday morning premature pup #9 was born… Neither of these pups survived and in both cases the moms abandoned them right away… Many of the harbor seals continue to look thin and it becoming painfully clear that we may have lost a portion of our adult seals as they have not returned to the rookery for the past 1 to 2 years… and have been constant fixtures on Hopkins beach… the warming of the oceans and lack of food are taking their toll on the harbor seals as well as, the seal lions and the waterfowl.
  • Mar 8: #10 was born… Once again, this pup was abandoned and is very premature. It will go the way of the 9 pups preceding it… It has already been abandoned…
  • Mar 10: After 10 live births this year where milkless moms immediately abandoned the pups, this mom stayed on Hopkins beach with the 11th live birth of the season… We watched the pup until after 6pm with no successful nursing…
  • Mar 15: I do not think our two pups (#11 with the mom and #12 the abandoned pup) will be with us… I did not see them… Yesterday, pup #12 was in the center of the beach looking very lethargic and pup #11 just never seemed to thrive or put any weight on…

KION transcript, Mar 16, 2016: The problem is getting worse. “Last year was unprecedented for us, we had 359. This year we’re already at 160, and it’s only the middle of March.”

Rense: “You’re crazy, they’re still catching fish here and there, blah, blah, blah.”

    Durnford: “Yep.

Rense: “Yeah, that’s fine, there still are some fish left.”

Durnford: “One percent of one percent.”

If the “One percent of one percent.” claim were anywhere near true there wouldn't be any baby seals in the vicinity because there would be no seals at all.

So since there's seals … guess things are okey dokey. That there are less seals than before, and they are thin and failing to thrive.

At least there are seals. What point was your post going for? Some seals are left so a few things seals eat must still exist, proving the doom sayers wrong?

Not making me feel any better …

0.01% of what should be in a healthy ocean would still be a hell of a lot of fish. People who really want to learn about this issue should look at the documentation at thenuclearproctologist.org. The ocean is in very, very serious trouble. And seal population is fast dropping, soon to be 1% of 1% if it isn't there already.

This is no time for temporizing; the Pacific is in the direst of straits!

So let's see. Since 2011, we have had a continuous degradation of the Pacific west and north west ocean and even south pacific now.

We had reports of massive amounts of iodine in the kelp early on. We have the collapse of various feeder fish species and their fisheries. We have the collapse of krill. The collapse of many sea birds.

We have chronic wasting diseases of various otherwise hardy sea life all over.

Now there is starving and sick higher order sea life all over the place that is continuing to get worse.

The tidal pools on the west coast look completely sterilized. Even early on there were many reports from the arctic and Alaska of radiation sickness in mammals.

You are in denial, wake up. This is real and it isn't going away.

In a few years, there isn't going to be anything left to argue over because the few remaining unhealthy sea mammals kicking around will have perished.

It started with the plankton/phytoplankton super concentrating isotopes and it's been working it's way to the top ever since. We sterilized the Pacific, it's dying.

      It's blatantly obvious.

I live in North central Idaho in the Northwest passage. It has been an very wet winter especially lately February and March. We usually have a lot of deer all winter long on our property as there is a lot of winter grass available. Not this year. I have seen maybe five all winter. I thought maybe they were staying up in the high country because it has been so wet down here this year, no one I've talked to seems to know why either. Three days ago a doe and two of he yearlings came into the yard(the first I've seen in months.) One of the yearlings had a large white patch on it's side. Also, People around here including myself have been extremely lethargic all winter. I have no instruments to read radiation. I just read about the white spots showing up on the seals and i'm beginning to wonder. I've not seen the deer since and none around the area. Kooskia to Lewiston.

Fukushima farmers grow plants with polyester 'soil'
    http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-news-from-elsewhere-35861948

"By using polyester fabrics as a cultivation medium instead of ground soil, this new method will help protect Fukushima farmers from harmful rumours that may stem from consumers' concerns over soil contamination," says Prof Takahiro Hayashi from Kinki University, which is helping to run the project.

That's what ENENews is, "harmful rumors", apparently…science, facts, and logic are arbitrarily labeled "harmful rumors"…

I knew that our comments here didn't mean much but relegating all of it to being "rumors" is beyond what I thought was possible.

The term "Orwellian" isn't covering it anymore, we need a term.

Rcesium is toxic to 1.53x 10^-10. Seventy years of dumping refined and man made radioisotopes into the sea have made their mark. Then there are the other manmade industrial pollutants.

80 percent of the fukushima blast went into the sea. Mostly in the form of radioactive cesium. The radioactive cesium has and is bioaccumulating. It has lopped off a lot of the bottom of the food chain already. Thus you have starving sea mammals. Sea mammals like the seals that are predators, at the top of the food chain.

My wife and I planed by not eating much, to not get sick so we could help others out. Well now riddled with cancer tumors despite our efforts, we cannot even really help ourselves.

Poor sea creatures have zero comfort factors whatsoever, at least we humans still have some terrestrial foods for now… I never felt such deeply penetrating sorrow for the creatures of Earth before, and trust me I have felt plenty of past anger and pain for what we have done to our dear Mother Earth.

Thoughts on cultural fear.. or 'How we got here'

      President Eisenhower,
..in his farewell speech on the threats posed by the "military-industrial complex," warned of the potential of new technology to dominate the social order in unforeseen ways. The "social system which researches, chooses it, produces it, polices it, justifies it, and maintains it in being," observed British social historian E. P. Thompson, orients its "entire economic, scientific, political, and ideological support-system to that weapons system.

In By the Bomb's Early Light (1985) Paul Boyer asks how a society lives with the knowledge of its capacity for self-destruction. However such thinking was in vogue with the approach of the West's second millennium, with the media saturated with doomsday forecasts of overpopulation, mass extinctions, global warming, and deadly pollutants. By the end of the 1990s, half of Americans believed that some manmade disaster would destroy civilization.

      Nazi leader Hermann Göring
.. explains how people can be made fearful and to support a war they otherwise would oppose:

"The people don't want war, but they can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and for exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country".

George W Bush and Tony Blair had stumbled on a new force to restore their power and authority; using the fear of an organised "web of evil" from which they could protect their people. The possibility of the war on terror opens the doors for the upsurge of an old culture of fear, which though dormitant in American life.

        Fear
"Once a government resorts to terror against its own population to get what it wants, it must keep using terror against its own population to get what it wants. A government that terrorizes its own people can never stop. If such a government ever lets the fear subside and rational thought return to the populace, that government is finished."—Michael Rivero.

Then the usual gaggle of angry white men and women haters led by st launched a series of personal attacks ad hominems and threats per usual. What a nice civil site this is.

Here is an excellent older blog about radiation teratogenicity Penny

"Dr Wertelecki’s team focused on teratogenesis – changes caused by environmental interference to a developing foetus, a foetus with with normal genes.  This must be distinguished from gene mutations, inherited from parents and the two processes have different effects.  The genetic, inherited defects are most likely to cause mental disability. But with the teratogenic abnormalities, the baby, if it survives, most often is of normal intelligence.

This process can begin very early, before the ovum has been implanted in the wall of the womb –  before the woman knows that she is pregnant. That very early “line” of the embryo can split. In this case – the result is – twins.  This split can be incomplete – resulting in conjoined twins, (“Siamese twins”).  A  fetiform teratoma is a sort of failed Siamese twin,  a monster like mass, containing a mixture of tissues."

That's a problematic comment from the start. First, "shill" is name-calling, especially when applied to people who are solidly anti-nuclear. Second, if you just say "radiation" then it's true; to get rid of all radiation we'd have to shut down the sun; but getting rid of the radioactivity from nuclear weapons and power plants is definitely on the agenda of the people who are being accused of being pro-nuclear. The word "radiation" is toyed with and comments twisted to a shocking degree. Maybe there are trolls here but I don't believe for an instant that Code (against whom most of the haranguing has been directed) is one of them. Not that he or anyone needs, or even wants my defense. I am speaking for myself: I don't believe these people think ANY man-made radiation is beneficial, which is in blissful harmony with my own stance; therefore, I stand with them in the hope of abolishing all things nuclear. Is that not your goal, PT? If so, then why can't we all drop the personal grudges and work together? I would love to think we are allies. However, if ego is more important to you than that goal, then you are aiding and abetting the nuclear cartel and I will not respond to you again.

There is no such thing as radiation hormesis. It is just trying to educate. I can understand that someone may have been told that radiation therapy for cancer is causing healing. Actually radiation therapy kills all cells indiscriminately. After being burned with radiation therapy, it is the body apart from radiation that creates the healing after there is no more radiation.

I am arguing against this person who says that over-restrictive limits cost thousands of lives. Quite the contrary, raising restrive limits will cost millions and billions of lives.

“…The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is raising by a factor of 350 what it considers to be the threshold for safe radiation exposure, Jon Utley reported at Reason.com. The higher threshold belatedly rectifies overly restrictive standards that have cost thousands of lives and billions of dollars, Utley reported….”

Both ionizing and nonionizing radiation can cause double strand breakage. There are other definitions of radiation which are not dealing with physics. I am using the term radiation in the physics sense.

    Planet Earth is not large.
It is in fact very small.
The biosphere connects the web of life on Earth.
Life is not separated, but is interconnected.
The human race is not separated from the web of life, but rather is a part of that web.
As baby seals die on the beach, so human babies die in the womb, and as infants.
Mortality rates are up for all of life in California and the Pacific Northwest.
Japan denies that three nuclear cores have melted out of the reactor buildings at Fukushima.
The corium is washed into the Pacific Ocean by an underground river.
Tepco cannot believe there is no corium left in the reactors.
Even though nuon imaging shows no corium is left in containment.
Instead of searching for the corium in the ground (where it is).
They are going to repeat muon imaging on Reactor 2 again.
Because all their nuclear college textbooks claim that it is impossible for corium to melt out of a reactor building.
The textbooks claim that corium is heated by decay heat alone.
Tokyo sewage sludge measurements of Iodine-131 indicate that criticalities in the corium are ongoing.
    And the corium remains molten.
And that the rate of fission is increasing.

Results of testing for Fukushima Radiation in northern fur seals on St. Paul Island, AK

"..We detected very small amounts of Fukushima-derived radioactive material in the seal tissue. We didn’t find any detectable radiation in the marine debris.

…The amount of radiation you are exposed to as a result of eating fur seals from the area is very, very small compared to the amount of radiation you are exposed to naturally from the sun or xrays for health diagnosis. You won’t be hurt or experience negative consequences as a result of this small amount of radiation exposure.
Additionally, the amounts of radioactive material found within the seal tissues are not enough to cause negative consequences for the seals themselves. At these levels the radiation poses no risk to human health from consumption of northern fur seals by Alaska Natives. …

Something "magical" is happening within the corium!
Since 2011, there has been a steady rise in corium criticalities.
We can track corium criticalities by measuring Iodine-131 in Tokyo sewage sludge.
    http://optimalprediction.com/files/tokyo5-14-14.gif

    Why track Iodine-131?
Because radioactive Iodine-131 happens only from nuclear fission.
The presence of Iodine-131 means that there are ongoing criticalities in the Fukushima corium.
Iodine-131 has a half life of only 8 days.
The presence of Iodine-131 in Tokyo sewage sludge means that the Fukushima corium is fissioning right now!
Now look at the graph linked above.
Notice that the peaks are getting higher and higher in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
Since there is more and more Iodine-131 over time, we know that criticalities within the corium have been increasing over the years since 3/11/2011.
Nuclear scientists, Tepco, and the Japanese Government claim that, according to nuclear science, corium cannot experience ongoing fission, following a core meltdown.
Nuclear science says that after a meltdown of nuclear fuel, fission is no longer possible.
And yet, here we are with Iodine-131 indicating that nuclear criticalities are not only ongoing, but that fission within the corium has been increasing since 3/11!
Hence, the Fukushima corium must be magic!
    Magic! ;)

Tepco insists that the reactors are in "cold shutdown".
"Cold shutdown" means no more fission.
So Tepco expects the corium to still be in the…

"So Tepco expects the corium to still be in the" reactors.
      But it's gone!
      It must be there.
So let's run another muon imaging test.
What are the results of the new tests going to be?
There is still no corium in the reactors.
      (More years will go by.)
They will finally image the pedestal and floor of the containment vessels.
They will not find any corium there, either.
So they will rerun these tests.
Will they ever, ever, look for the corium in the ground, where it is?
      Stay tuned!

Tepco: Where is the damn corium, eh? ;)

    Abrupt shifts in climate underway

This is not new news for climate scientists who have been sounding the alarm bell for many years. Month's ago Paul Beckwith, part-time professor and a PhD student with the laboratory for paleoclimatology and climatology at the University of Ottawa, stated that,"We have lost our stable climate. Likely permanently."
Beckwith also went on to say:

"Abrupt climate change. It is happening today, big time. The northern hemisphere atmospheric circulation system is doing its own thing, without the guidance of a stable jet stream. The jet stream is fractured into meandering and stuck streaked segments, which are hoovering up water vapor and directing it day after day to unlucky localized regions, depositing months or seasons worth of rain in only a few days, turning these locales into water worlds and trashing all infrastructure like houses, roads, train tracks and pipelines and also creating massive sinkholes and catastrophic landslides. And climate shift is only getting warmed up."

    • I call it Planetary Thermal Imbalance. Huge amounts of ionizing radiation has and is still being released into the atmosphere from the Fukushima nuclear catastrophe site. The atmosphere is an electrical system, and all the ionizing radiation releases have changed the electrical conductivity of the Earth's atmosphere. This has brought about huge climate changes since 3/11.

krypton-85 and other radioactive isotopes are being released into the atmosphere by the ongoing Fukushima Nuclear Catastrophe. This enhances air ionization, which interferes with the atmospheric-electrical system, and the water balance of the earth's atmosphere. This is creating a Planetary Thermal Imbalance & Extreme UV Levels. Planetary Thermal Imbalance is indicated by recent record breaking extremes in worldwide hot and cold temperatures. Where very hot and very cold air masses meet, you get severe weather events occurring. An example of this is the severe drought experienced in the Western USA, and the severe cold in the Eastern USA, over the last few years.

There are research papers explaining this process, you can find them in this article.

    How Long Can Oceans Continue
    To Absorb Earth’s Excess Heat?

Vast and slow to change temperature, the oceans have a huge capacity to sequester heat, especially the deep ocean, which is playing an increasingly large uptake and storage role.

Ocean heat accumulation is the equivalent of five Hiroshima bombs exploding every second since 1990.

Pacific trade winds, for instance, which have been unusually strong for the past two decades thanks to a 20- to 30-year cycle called the Interdecadal Pacific Oscillation, have been pumping atmospheric heat down into the western Pacific. The winds are powered up by the cycle’s current negative, or cool, phase. But scientists say that when the cycle eventually swings back to its positive, warm phase, which history suggests could occur within a decade, the winds will wind down, the pumping will let up, and buried heat will rise back into the atmosphere.

Scientists are also learning that the ocean has gained more heat, and at greater depth, than they had realized. That means the entire climate is even more out-of-whack than is evident today.

“If you want to measure the energy imbalance of the earth, the ocean temperature gives you nearly the whole story,” said Dean Roemmich, oceanography professor at the University of California San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

    • The heat snook past the atmosphere, past the upper layer of the ocean, and hid in the depths, where only scientists gauges can detect it, satelites and ground based weather stations cannot find the heat….

      But the Scientists can!

We are at the tail end of a strong El Nino, we should see some extra heat, of course. Now what? Play into the globalists hands?

    Argo

Argo is a global array of more than 3,000 free-drifting profiling floats that measures thetemperature and salinity of the upper 2000 m of the ocean. This allows, for the first time, continuous monitoring of the temperature, salinity, and velocity of the upper ocean, with all data being relayed and made publicly available within hours after collection.

    Ocean temperature and heat content

Over the past 50 years, the oceans have absorbed more than 80% of the total heat added to the air/sea/land/cyrosphere climate system (Levitus et al, 2005). As the dominant reservoir for heat, the oceans are critical for measuring the radiation imbalance of the planet and the surface layer of the oceans plays the role of thermostat and heat source/sink for the lower atmosphere.

What happens now when people who are all anti nuclear disagree is it tends to degrade into a slime pit of attacks and counter attacks.

          Until that changes, no thanks.

Sometimes it is better to say no thanks and stay civil and away from the drama.

          So; no thanks for now.

Maybe yes in the future, if the 'climate' here changes, matures, and/or improves.

          Nothing personal.

I have been having a lousy day from even before waking up this morning, and this news puts the icing on the cake (never did like cake, especially not with icing). If a NPP blows here, I am pre-emptively calling it a false flag.

Time now to tune out. Peace to all, despite the intents of the ruling maniacal bastards. Keep singing :)

Yes. “When they get extremely thin they’re open to all sorts of illnesses and infections,” said [volunteer Marg] Brigadier …

When their immune system is destroyed by radiation exposure,"they’re open to all sorts of illnesses and infections,”.

"Furthermore, as reported in Red Balloon (Spring, 1988), widespread exposure to fallout can affect the immune defenses of the body and increase the mutation rate of micro-organisms. Thus, radioactive releases due to nuclear bomb tests and nuclear powerplant accidents (among other man-made factors) correlate directly with the worldwide epidemics of new diseases and disease complexes such as AIDS, and with a resurgence of older infectious diseases such as measles, hepatitis, tuberculosis, cholera and syphilis. [See Figure 6]"

Could it be that the immune system is the first to go?

    Peace

  • Hmmm, first I heard of the cancer epidemic, today……

    http://nukeprofessional.blogspot.com/2016/03/liver-damage-and-cancers-skyrocketing.html

    Special Feature: Liver Cancer

Unlike most other kinds of cancer, liver cancer incidence and death rates are going up. From 2008 to 2012, the liver cancer incidence rate went up an average of 2.3% per year, and the liver cancer death rate went up by an average of 2.8% per year for men and 3.4% per year for women. About twice as many men as women get liver cancer.
What Causes Liver Cancer? (trolls who drink too much and rant)

California bans commercial crab fishing due to excessive radiation in seafood
    March 27 2016

    http://www.naturalnews.com/053440_California_crab_season_radioactive_ocean.html#ixzz4476DGDMM

"In November of last year, California state officials placed an indefinite hold on the commercial crab season, in order to protect public health. The reason given by the state was dangerously high levels of algal toxins in the bodies of the crabs.

But according to New York radio station 95.1 FM (SuperStation 95), insiders from the California Fish and Game Commission have revealed that the real reason for the ban was dangerously high levels of radioactivity resulting from the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster.

Radioactive crab are so dangerous to eat that state officials felt the need to protect the public, Superstation 95 reports. But officials were unwilling to publicly admit the true reason for the ban, which contradicts official claims that the Fukushima disaster poses no threat to the U.S. West coast."
