Title: In growing lawsuit, servicemembers fault TEPCO for radiation-related illnesses
Source: Stars and Stripes

[…] Shinzo Kimura, a professor at Dokkyo Medical University in Japan, had been collecting radiation contamination data and studying the radiation exposure risks from Chernobyl. He was the first scientist on the ground in Fukushima after the disaster, and he said he was compelled to take readings because he didn’t trust Japan’s government.

“My heart breaks greatly that those servicemembers, who worked for Japan during Operation Tomodachi, suffered radiation exposure,” he said. […]

Kimura said the levels were so high around the plant that his dosimeter was unable to measure the radiation — the level was off his device’s scale.

He said the winds were blowing out toward ships off the coast in the days after the disaster.

In addition to Kimura’s claims, a Japanese government study released in February found that more than 25 times as many people in the area have developed thyroid cancer compared with data from before the disaster. […]

This is the tiny point on the tip of a humongous iceberg, that is the human disease portion of the Fukushima Disaster. Our hearts go out to all of Japan, and to the American servicemen stationed under the plume as it sowed the seeds of thyroid cancer far and wide. American service personnel need to document their location atthe time of the Disaster, and put this informationin a safe place for future use.

Thyroid cancer not from the radioactive iodine released from Fukushima-Daiichi meltdowns!!!! Not the cause!!!! How do I know??? You dare ask???? Because General Electric told me to say so; General Electric paid me to say so! General Electric forced me to lie, the lying corporate thug. Sorry Great Grandpa Coffin, but your company, your life's work, has been taken over by a criminal cabal in cahoots with the Japanese Yakuza. Situation very dire … barely 100 years after you built your "Portledge" Shangri-la. So sad, so sad.

Today we lost Japan. Tomorrow, New York.

    What a world, what a world …

26th June 2013 – This scientific report indicates that the amount of long lived radioactive Iodine I-129, released during the early stages of the Fukushima Nuclear disaster, was 31 times greater than the short lived radioactive Iodine I-131. This study does not take into account any radioactive Iodine releases since then.

      http://www.terrapub.co.jp/journals/GJ/pdf/4604/46040327.pdf

      ——————————————————————

Reported on the 14th June 2013:

"1.19 million becquerels/kg of radioactive iodine detected on leafy vegetables near Fukushima Medical University in March 2011. Being aware of this high radioactive iodine detection, Fukushima Medical University distributed potassium iodide pills to the doctors and nurses. The report points out that potassium iodine pills were not distributed to local men, women, and children. This university is located just south of Fukushima City."

      http://ex-skf.blogspot.com.au/2013/06/fukushima-medical-university.html

      ———————————————————————

This would mean that 36.89 million Becquerel/kg of radioactive Iodine I-129 was on leafy vegetables, at a combined total for of I-129 + I-131 38.08 million Becquerel/kg. The bio-accumulation of I-129 poses a serious health problem for animal and human populations. Unlike radioactive Iodine I-131, which has a short half life of 8 days, or an environmental presence of 80 days +, radioactive Iodine I-129 has a…

      • vital1 vital1

has a half life of 15.7 million years. Another pre Fukushima Argentina studying indicates that the I-129 will eventually reach the Southern Hemisphere, as it has from other major sources, like the nuclear fuel reprocessing plants of Cape de La Hague (France) and Sellafield (UK).

        http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0048969712006353

It would be logical to suggest that locations that had large bio-accumulation, or fallout detections of Iodine I-131 from Fukushima, eg. Japan, Southern California (In kelp), San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Europe etc., should be multiplying their detections by 31, to get their fallout amounts of Iodine I-129! (These large Iodine I-131 detection reports can be found at "Radiation Food Lab" and “The Food Lab”.)

I have been informed by a reliable source, the reason the general population was not advised to take, or issued with Potassium Iodine pills, is that there was a worldwide shortage at the time. It was not possible to supply them to everyone, so who was chosen get them at the time?

With this level of long life Iodine contamination bio-accumulating in the environment, the question needs to be asked, is it necessary to take a clean sourced Iodine supplement for the rest of one’s life?

Iodine supplements are not for everyone. We are all different. Some people taking them can get adverse side effects. No one should take them without medical advice from their doctor.

This is a subject that needs further research.

        • vital1 vital1

If this information is correct these US navy sailors, and the Japanese men, women and children around the Fukushima nuclear disaster were subject to massive amounts of radioactive Iodine.

        • The iodine received from Big Pharma only works one time for about 1-2 days, then loses effectiveness if taken beyond then, so it would make little or no difference after that.

One has to time it just right, for the maximum benefit, when the highest wave of Iodine radiation hits…

This is hard to do, and even more difficult to arrange for whole populations that have no idea about any of this.

          The logistics are a nightmare.

          • And it is potentially very dangerous to take Iodine for longer periods.. See a doctor and get a prescription before taking elemental Iodine at all… it is not something to mess around with.

            • vital1 vital1

              Agreed.

The large doses of potassium iodine given out at the beginning of a nuclear disaster, are only meant to be taken for a very short period of time.

Natural foods rich in clean iodine could help prevent the uptake of radioactive iodine bio-accummulating in the environment.

Here in Australia they suggest using iodized salt, because our soil lacks natural iodine.

Everyone would need to do research, and get medical advice on the subject. I have heard of people getting to much iodine even from natural sources.

I'll tell ya..nothing is more upsetting than hearing about our ..men and women in the military being placed unduly in harm's way.

    Who can stand it?

PS..I may not agree with the actions of the military..but there isn't a person on the planet..that can say.. I didn't also love the military.
      Bedamned as it is..

      • We Not They Finally

I don't love "the military," so don't speak for me. I feel very sorry for enlisted men (and women) talked into propaganda and then turned into cannon fodder, or abandoned by the same military that did such terrible things to them. That's just tragic and wrong.

Why do you "love the military"? Do you love WAR? Just don't say that "there isn't a person on the planet that can say they don't love the military." That's just WRONG. Don't even think of speaking for ME.

        • Heart of the Rose Heart of the Rose

No..but… I have respect for the concept that freedom has to be defended.
But that is not where we are at..I understand.

Chernobyl has many cases of thyroid cancer.
One of our aupairs had a thyroid goitre, and other illlnesses and was on endless medicines her entire life, without cure.

Fukushima is real and the suffering will be real as well as Chernobyl.
When you meet the real victims, and see what a hell their lives are,
then it is impossible to understand why politicians and nuclear physicists who lie so much think they are helping the general population.
Who needs such negligent politicians as in Japan, or any oF these nuclear companies.

  • We Not They Finally

"25 times as much" sounds high, but it will turn out to be LOW. As of a year back, 36% of the child population already had growths on their thyroids. NONE were biopsied unless they were undeniably already cancerous. The rest of the parents were told to NOT seek second opinions and to not return for two more years.

By the way, what about the 60% (undoubtedly worse by now) of Fukushima children under the age of twelve who already tested positive for DIABETES as of May 2012? Where are even the mass training programs for administering insulin?

THESE ARE MASS MURDERERS OF CHILDREN. They're all Dr.Mengele over there. The whole Fukushima Medical University needs to be sent to The Haag.

Abortion policies must not be profitable enough for the powers to be.

    Why flush away a commodity?

The only ones making money now are the Doctor's providing the extraction procedures and a few genetic clinics.

But with Nuclear Radiation Contamination everyone gets a piece of the pie..doctors visits, life time of drugs, long term care, fuel, cancer charities and then of course the big cost/insurance payments!

Everyone in the medical/research/government profit chain benefits after these Nuclear Melt Down Disasters!

  • so true… a required lifetime of 'treatment', with no end in sight… just lots more customers forever and ever.

Lots and lots of very expensive radiation to be dispensed in all directions..

I'm not a great fan of Jeff Rense or Yoichi Shimatsu — both are very uneven, to say the least — but I'll take valuable information wherever it comes from. Kudos to both for a very interesting report here:

    http://rense.gsradio.net:8080/rense/special/rense_Shimatsu_071113.mp3

Shimatsu(s worries about a tritium-induced corium explosion may be nonsense — I hope so — but at this point the suppression of facts has been so extensive and the disaster so horrible and unprecedented that he may know what he's talking about. Overall, he's on target, and has some very troubling observations of the current environment in Fukushima — virtual desertification, dying trees, gigantism in flowers and vegetables and, as reported elsewhere, massive tritium contamination.

    • It is not just tritium, but also neutrons, neutrinos and anti neutrinos, in MASSIVE amounts, because the fission is uncontrolled.

There is no attempt to shied from these radiations and they do kill.

No one should worry too much the US navy being exposed, the US itself is the greatest perpetrator of nuclear waste, and exposure in the world, folks concern should be for the children of Fukushima and for the wellbeing of the entire ecosphere. Not for a branch of the military that itself uses and creates nuclear waste, it would be one thing if there intent was genuine but as has been demonstrated repeatedly tyranny and corruption prevail as opposed to democracy and freedom.

  • Those who would sacrifice their own children and seventy times seventy thousand future generations are traitors, pure and simple.
