Gaps in US radiation monitoring system revealed, Associated Press, March 25, 2011:
Part of the nation’s key radiation warning system was out of service as the U.S. braced for possible exposure to the fallout from a nuclear crisis in Japan. …
In California, home to two seaside nuclear plants located close to earthquake fault lines, federal officials said four of the 11 stationary monitors were offline for repairs or maintenance last week. …
Daniel Hirsch, a nuclear watchdog who lectures on nuclear policy at the University of California, Santa Cruz, said he was uneasy about malfunctioning monitors.
“The fundamental concern is that we’re being offered bland assurances that everything is ok but much of the monitoring system was broken,” Hirsch said.

If the EPA were a mechanic for an airline and they fumbled around and caused 4 out of
11 planes to be grounded the results would be
a firing.
Xdrfox is right, this outfit has lied, misdirected, misinformed on major catastrophic events from 9/11 forward.
Yes is No.
Even if the EPA had all their monitoring stations working…I wouldn’t trust the results..too many other independents on the web.

The monitor by individuals have no way to monitor the bad stuff either !
Some may be even planted on the web, to look like the readings they would want us to believe ! Remember the fake looped videos from the Gulf ?
