52 Workers at TEPCO Nuclear Plant Infected with Norovirus, Jiji Press, Dec. 17, 2011:
- A total of 52 workers at [...] Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant
- Infected with norovirus, the utility said Saturday.
- Were installing storage tanks for sludge accumulated after radioactive water decontamination
- Some of them was hospitalized

In the past month Ive been finding outside sources from private universities to bring light to the incidents unfolding in fukushima Japan.
According to my source 83 year old: Ron Luppe (a naval biologist and meteorologist. With degrees in: Russian, German, Biology and Meteorology). Recent storm patterns following the months after the crisis in Japan are very rare, and unusual. His opinions were that the charged ionizing elements in addition to natural weather pressure systems Cause extreme energy fields inside the cloud layer.
Resulting in a masse of tornadoes, and storm super cell systems ripping across the united states Midwest…
He further tells me that the storm systems this year were almost unbelievable In regards to his 60+ year history analyzing storm systems of the United states mainland. With the only explanations being a extreme biological change to the area effected by these storm systems.
The conclusions are from a very accredited man, who is a retired naval man and ex teacher.

Hi Emmy,
There is one well known effect of Nuke power that is expected to make a big impact on the weather, but in ways that are not yet understood. Krypton 85 (released in quantities that are expected to affect weather even by normally operating Nuke plants) lowers the conductivity of the atmosphere. Logically one would think that could trigger electrical storms and no one knows for sure what else (or they aren’t saying). Here in Auckland there was a phenomenal electrical storm some time after Fukushima went up. I did wonder if fallout from Fukushima played a role in that. Further info below

So often the truth lies 180 degrees in the opposite direction to which the powers that be point. Ironically while man made CO2 emissions are so tiny as to logically have no effect on climate, Krypton 85 emissions from Nuke plants are expected to change the weather.

Thanks Anne,
As a result of that comment I’ve just done a search on Enenews and see you’ve over time posted a wealth of information on Krypton 85 and weather effects.
Apart from the conductivity, I see from your links that the idea of Krypton 85 helping water condense into clouds or rain is mentioned as well. That of course is something that is also believed to be the mechanism by which sun spots cause heating and cooling of the earth. (cycles of global warming and cooling match sun spot activity)
So judging by that, not only is Krypton 85 thought to change weather (climate?) through conductivity changes, but also they entertain the idea that it might affect climate through the very means by which sun spots have such a great effect.
No doubt Anne the powers that be in the Nuke industry will be well aware of that. Perhaps they are getting in early by blaming fossil fuels for climate change that they know their own nuclear plants will eventually cause?
Whatever the case, its chilling. I think that is a very big deal. Isn’t it maddening that its never mentioned in the media. Very glad I saw your comment, really appreciate it.

A main fact to consider is that likely 80% of all fallout from the fukushima nuclear crisis resided in the pacific ocean. While 20% contaminated the entire northern hemisphere for months.
SO If (and we are) seeing global low level contamination of food, soil and air. Consider the affects that the oceanic, and botanic ecosystems are experiencing.

Earthworms Across Tri-State Turned Up Dead Thursday

CINCINNATI — People across the Tri-State awoke to an unusual sight Thursday — thousands of earthworms lying dead on sidewalks and porches.
WLWT was first alerted to the issue by Rick in West Chester.
“This appears to have started sometime yesterday afternoon, as I do not remember seeing them yesterday morning,” Rick wrote.
Shortly after Rick’s email, WLWT reporter Brian Hamrick began taking photos from his home in Florence, where thousands of worms coated the sidewalks of his neighborhood.
After one post on Facebook, more than 90 people said they had seen the same thing, from Fairfield to Mount Airy, Pleasant Ridge, Independence and Sardinia. WLWT even got confirmation from its sister TV station in Louisville that they had a few hundred dead worms on their sidewalk.
WLWT went in search of an answer as to why so many worms died all at once.
Lee Townsend, an entomologist at the University of Kentucky, said there could be three reasons: the recent heavy rains, mating season or acidic soils. uhm… Radiation?
With no rain in the last week, it’s likely that isn’t the culprit. Acidic soil is also unlikely because the worm deaths were reported over such a large area. 3 states?
“As they come to the surface to pair off and mate in the spring, that’s a reason that gets them up and moving around,” Townsend said. “The worms come out and get caught on things that are hard for them to crawl across, like sidewalks and driveways, and sometimes the streets.”

There were NO EARTHWORMS out on the pavement all summer, following rains, which is very unusual. I didnt make the connection until I was planting some bulbs in the fall before the frost…all the worms were dead the first 2 inches of soil. This was next to a retention pond that 4 parking lots that sit above me empty into. The last batch of ducks born on the pond in August had 9 babies…one had a small wing. Only one reached maturity.

There was a strange disappearance of all the cockroaches and crickets that live in our yard and try and get inside our house in the summer because of the Phoenix heat.
The cockroaches live in the garden but in the summer they come onto the patio and try and get in (UGH).
I don’t like cockroaches but hate pesticides more so I don’t spray.
The cockroaches disappeared in late July/early August.
I have no idea whether it is coincidence
It was strange. I thought cockroaches were supposed to outlive humans in a nuclear war…

That’s fascinating. Agreed with Xdrfox, worth documenting that. It would be great to be able to ask someone from the Ukraine or Belarus what happened to their worms after the accident. (Perhaps someone from Japan can tell us something about that now too)
I just did a google search on the subject, but it only pulled up some articles saying that worms in lakes near Chernobyl were studied and they swapped from asexual reproduction to more sexual reproduction. Presumably that means they have a designed in ability to reproduce sexually to better weed out mutations when exposed to radiation.
Ironically Pravda means “truth” in Russian, though this article claims the effects on worms are the only impact anyone has noticed on the flora and fauna. I’ve seen a video interview between a bird scientist who regularly visits the exclusion zone and Helen Coldicott. In that interview he said some species had disappeared altogether from the exclusion zone and all species were weaker. But anyway, here is the worm article. Not much too it, but its about worms in Chernobyl…

Objectively the numbers tell the story. The cross species die off suggest a common cause. We have lost a staggering volume of life in 2011. There is nothing remotely normal about this.

FWIW, I raise organic apples. I try to can, dehydrate or freeze all I can becuase of worms, who make the storage of “fresh” apples nearly impossible. This year there weren’t any, I don’t remember that ever happening.
We had a semicircular shaped wave of wind come through the NW, a sustained wind lasting only a few minutes, pushing in from the west into the Cascades, toppling many trees, on I think the 12th or 13th of March. It was not a storm. I drove around some of the trees on I-5 after watching trucks almost tip over in that wind. A big fir tree in my neighborhood a hundred miles from where I had been on the freeway when I experienced this, was tilted and its roots tore up the neighbor’s water pipes. The whole event passed through Oregon, Washington and BC in less than fifteen minutes, so far as I can tell. After that there were Iridescent Clouds until almost July throughout the whole Northwest. I would like to compare it to similar events in previous years. The earth is so large that it would not surprise me if this is not all that unusual.

I agree with James that we just don’t know how frequently die offs occur but we should definitely look for patterns.
The die off of blackbirds was actually caused by legal poisoning to “protect” rice crops.
Die-offs in gulf can be connected to the BP gulf oil spill in some cases…
What is “natural,” what is caused by human pollution, what is caused specifically by radiation???

Read Silent Spring by Rachel Carson. These die off are now considered normal. They are a relatively new phenomenon cross species unless an extinction event is occurring, which most biologist agree has been happening for the past 45,000 years, or since humans began to dominate, but, given the excelerated amount of recent environmental and habitat degradation, the cause of the die off is human induced poisoning, starving, exploiting, and stressing various species. They succumb to disease more easily now, if not die outright from toxins. The challenge in tracking this is that few studies will ever go so far as to link human behavior to the increased stressors that force a species to succumb to a natural disease, and little more attention is paid to the direct effects of habitat loss, poisons, radiation, and over harvesting. The information black out at Fukushima and the public’s lackadaisical response is just one small example of how nearly all human societies now purposely ignore their impact upon their environments.

Radioactive fallout does affect all species. If those die off events are more frequent than normal, and affect a variety of species, that could well point to Fukushima.
Most mutations are so minor as to be impossible for natural selection to weed out. They just accumulate as genetic load. Each generation carries 100 to 300 more mutations than the last. An individual mutation will be only slightly detrimental. But collectively, as the mutations build up, it leads a species to extinction.
Anything that increases the mutation rate brings all species closer to extinction. Natural selection slows down that destruction, but it can only weed out mutations that are obviously deletarious. Most mutations just build up. Individually they cannot be selected upon. We really are in the bondage of decay.
In that sense, Fukushima’s radiation really is an ELE (extinction level event). It brings every creature on the planet closer to extinction. Without outside intervention, eventually all life would die out due to genetic decay.

Note that when this concept is grasped, its very clear just what a disaster Nuclear energy is. Even correctly operating plants raise mutation rates around them from the emissions they make under normal conditions. That increased genetic decay is irreversible. For that reason alone, nuclear energy should be abandoned immediately. It brings all life closer to extinction through accumulated genetic decay.
All life is slowly dying out due to genome decay. That is the dirty little secret of population genetics. Fukushima just took all life closer to that extinction point.

The workers who last as long as they are and have made it home from the plant alive are lucky to have the time left to spend on this earth away from that horrible radiation. When your boots melt you know it’s time to get out of the water. Good thing you brought your trusty sock to wrap your dosimeter with. 54 people at the plant just got blasted with enough radiation to induce sickness and TEPCO does not have the balls to tell the truth. In the months leading up to now the total record of workers reported sick and dead is now at 58 known cases of poisoning. No need to beat around the bush here, but we all know there are more dying. Have not heard from Mochizuki’s Fukushima diary recently here on Enenews. I hope and pray for his health. His insight and reporting is an important window into the activities within TEPCO’s facility.

Don’t forget the temp workers TEPCO uses. Enenews reported this months ago. Temp workers recruited from poor neighborhoods usually ex cons, alcoholics and junkies. They do their work collect their pay and radiation and crawl back into the wood work. We will never know the true number of deaths and illnesses suffered through working at the disaster.

True, and if a worker who cannot “disappeared” drops dead, the case can always be classified as a non-work related death. Like the worker who died of a heart attack after cleaning sludge from drains recently. According to Tepco, that’s nothing to do with radiation.
Of course, heart attack and stroke were the main killers after Chernobyl. (still are) But the only effects the Nuke industry will consider are rare cancers, and even then they debate it. Its like a bizarre kid’s game. “You can’t count that one because the plant didn’t actually vaporise the guy on nationwide TV!”.
Early in the crisis I remember Enenews reporting Tepco’s admission that they had “lost track” of over 100 workers who they could not locate for medical follow up. Another report said that sick workers were held as virtual prisoners.

Read this yesterday which verifies the reason the workers are getting sick:ONGOING DANGER 6: MORE HYBRID INFLUENZAS. Let us assum 9 million victims and more coming from Chernobyl, for the next billions of years. The pro nuke industry folks say only 35 people or so died as a result of Chernobyl. That is like saying the moon is made of cheese, it is so laughably ignorantly in denial of what is happening in REALITY.
Why do we have to keep counting past 9 million total or so today, and keep adding body counts for the next billions of years?
