Follow-up to: Ex-Chief at Fukushima Daiichi bleeding to brain -- Undergoes emergency brain hemorrhage surgery -- Already suffering from cancer in esophagus
Title: Ex-Manager of Fukushima N-Plant Has Brain Hemorrhage Surgery
Source: Jiji Press
Date: July 30
[Tepco] said Monday that Masao Yoshida, former manager of the company’s disaster-hit Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, underwent an emergency surgery following brain hemorrhage last Thursday.
Yoshida, 57, complained of illness on Thursday afternoon when he was out and was sent to hospital, where the surgery was performed, according to the company.
The surgery was successful, TEPCO said, adding that Yoshida remains conscious and there is no threat to his life although his symptoms are serious.
[...]
Hemorrhagic syndromes increased in frequency 9-fold and were manifest as alimentary hemorrhage causing melena or subcutaneous hemorrhage. The pre-accident incidence was 0.5-1.0%, increasing to 4.4% (Polessky) and 5.1% (Chechersky) in 1990.

Glad to see TEPCO is confidant there is 'no threat' to his life. Not that he's been bombarded by the highest levels of radiation known to man.
I suppose they don't want to pay out on a Worker's Comp claim.
It's all cost avoidance at this point.

maybe now he will notice the elephant in the parlor…

So I see he wasn't turned away at the Hospital door.

He's lucky to have surgery. Most Americans won't be able to afford it.

This is a fascinating procedure. The human body is incredible engineering feat, as well as resilient.
They invariably need to relieve pressure on the brain with a bad hemorrhage. To do this they drill into the skull and feed a catheter into the clot. Once the pressure is off, another hole is drilled and another cath added. One is used to drip in a clot buster like adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the other is used as a drain.

Mr Viktor Popov from the Ukraine cried when a talked about his colleagues who died of the exact conditions and exact causes. A definite assurance that innocent people are suffering due to extortionists who think they have Mr Albert Einstein’s theory under control. Excuses: No money, no power, no bombs.

With all the water being pumped into the reactors and a high water table keeping the cores cool , if they quit watering will the ground water heat up and blow radioactive steam into the air causing deaths. They may have to water these plants for ever with radioactive water seeping into the ocean and water tables.

yes richard, that's exactly what we've been discussing for over a year here.
yes, there will be a need to pump water for forever… but guess what, humans wont last for forever, so guess what, the world is toast, just depends on how long you want to take.
but yes, the nukers have turned the blue pearl of earth toward the red husk of mars. we are done, and dusted.

… but it's American technology that failed here … no need to look too hard for the made in USA by GE label …
… so who is the real terrorist in the room?? …
… you really need to ask??? …
… I'll try this again: American insurance industry, good at spotting risk, refused to insure big nukes … so GE et al bought Price Anderson protections from the US Congress … thus (ergo) Nuclear power industry is a bastard child conceived in a political whorehouse … now all grown up and all powerful … taking the ultimate revenge on its duplicitous parents …
… Are there any genuine American patriots and men left??
…. I mean really!!! The world deserves a little better, no?
… peace …

Our current administration is just as corrupt (probably MORE) than the previous one. just saying …don't be fooled

Interesting quote from Immelt in the news today, though.
Jeff Immelt, CEO of GE, says nuclear power is so expensive it is “really hard to justify.”
