Deadly areas of radiation found at Fukushima nuclear plant, WJLA ABC 7 by John Metcalfe, August 2, 2011:

Remember the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant? That place is still so contaminated that scientists are uncovering new and amazing things every day in unexplored locations. [...]

The deadly Easter eggs, located near a ventilation stack, are generating radiation on the magnitude of 10 sieverts per hour. Actually, the levels are higher than that, but the dosimeters the Japanese are using stop at 10. [...]

The Japanese nuclear team observed these fizzing pockets from afar with a gamma camera [...]

Things are moving very fast and very badly if ABC is now reporting this story.

Never ever forget, they admit to lesser crimes to distract from greater.

Cue average watcher of TV: “Oh, that stupid Fuku-whatever plant has some radioactive Easter eggs, huh? BFD”

This allows them to report “news” without telling the dark truth that those eggs have been squelching deadly radioactivity into the water table, the ocean and the air 24/7 for months.

This is just like the beef reports…admit to contaminated beef, that’ll distract them all from the vast acres of rice paddies RIGHT NEXT TO THE DAMN HAY

  • You can see the same story on web-page of GammaCam, the company that sold Tepco the equipment.

    http://gammacamnow.com/Inthenews.html

New equipment, only goes up to 10 sieverts.

Workers had protective clothing a bit misleading in previous versions of this story as Gammacam’s main feature is that workers can be at remote site to check for radiation. Obviously Tepco knew of this situation for some time to order this type of equipment.

The photo is appears staged, but you can see something that looks like corium dripping out of the joint of the vent pipe to the vertical large diameter stack to the guy’s left, and that elbow at the end of his pole is hot – look at the ground under it – burned.

What I can’t figure out is how did nuclear fuel get in those pipes if that’s what it is?

Also, if that’s what it is – this guy is standing 10 feet away from unshielded corium it with only a Tyvek suit on. It’s obvious that has been a hot spot since the beginning. There are several pieces of roofing material laying around and they had the robotic machines go pick all that stuff up a couple months ago.

The piece of tin in front of the guy could be there there to cover up one of the fissures – there’s definitely a gash in the ground under the tin that looks somewhat fresh, and it’s been over 4 months since the explosion.

They’ve also sprayed green goo all over everything here, but it is completely burned off of the vent pipe.

    • The photo is definitely not staged. The radiation sources shown in color are within the pipes entering\exiting the heat ex-changer behind the tripod looking posts. The radiation just appears to be coming from it because that is the direction the picture was acquired with.

BTW: I built the system that took the image. See http://www.gammacamnow.com for other images too.

Hmm look at the pole guy’s right foot. is it black smoke rising out of the ground in front of it?

If you are on WAVE cable in the Sacramento area, public broadcasting hi-def channel 706 airs NHK around 4 – 5 pm. DLH (a male channel hopper – is their any other kind!?) found it and actually watched it tonight. He may not think I am totally insane now. This is as close to MSM news is going to get for quite awhile IMHO.

Ck the PBS channels in your area. People who reject/object to “radical” news may actually watch PBS and begin to catch on. NHK may be watered down, but it’s a reasonable start for those with at least a 3 digit IQ and an inqusitive mind.

  • I said it before and I’ll say it again. Not even a space suit could protect you from that level of radiation.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. will install an 800-meter-long wall off crippled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant to prevent radioactive groundwater from flowing into the sea.

The wall will be completed in two years after construction begins between mid-October and mid-January, ahead of the initial schedule, TEPCO officials said Aug. 1.

2 years seems like a long time.

Well, this seems like news of the very first containment effort I’ve heard (nuclear containment, not information containment)

Not that I like the idea – what happens when they dig down 50 meters and find that radioactive river already flowing into the sea?

However, it’s a start, and shows that somebody feels responsible enough to at least sound like they are doing something to contain it. For nearly 5 months now it’s just been trying to stabilize it – unsuccessfully, I might add.

After 10 metres they get to sea level. A rather large cofferdam will be needed, and rather a lot of pumping so work can be carried out. Wait! do I spot a snag here?

    10 Sieverts?

Try searching for the terms 266 Sieverts in Google and click on the 7th link in Japanese. Try it in Chrome to get a translation or use a translator plugin for Internet Explorer.

Or even easier click here on thus ugly long URL and scroll down to the graph:

    http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://atmc.jp/plant/rad/%3Fn%3D1&ei=4sQ4Tu3INJTC0AHu-dC3Aw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=6&ved=0CFAQ7gEwBQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3D266%2BSieverts%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1T4SNCA_enUS383US383%26biw%3D1067%26bih%3D487%26prmd%3Divnsfd

The MEXT Japanese government ministry was keeping records of the radiation levels inside the drywell up until July 3rd when they stopped after it reached 266 Sieverts. No data since. Reminds me of the EPA packing up their water and soil monitoring devices three months ago and saying no need to do any daily radiation monitoring here in America, everything is fine. “Move along, nothing to see here”, said Leslie Nielsen in The Naked Gun. Ignorance is bliss.

But there is a RADNET air monitoring system that still delivers values daily if you know how to query the online government computer. and guess what? On July 27, 2011 the Pierre, SD monitoring station started the day at 62 Beta Gross Count Rate (CPM), By 1 PM it had risen to 295 CPM. On the 29th it rose to 313! Those rates are at least 5 to 10 times background radiation levels. If that radiation had remained sustained we would be ready for a drunken cocktail party speech from Fred Astaire in On the Beach. Similar spikes have been happening in Iowa, Idaho, and independent citizen reports from Canada.

Where is the radiation coming from? The Pacific Jetstream or slow regular winds from Fukushima Daiichi perhaps.

Hopefully Ft. Calhoun is not spitting out some vapors in a U.S. cover up? No, our leaders would never lie to us. You think?.

Back to Japan then…there are three reactors cores that have burned through the metal reactor vessels at Fukushima Daiichi at reactors 1-3. The present location of the corium Blobs as they are now named is unknown to Japanese scientists.

They have been pouring water hully gully into the tops of the destroyed reactors hoping they are cooling the nuclear fires without any idea where the cores are because it is simply too radioactive hot for humans or monitors to track the progression of the melt-down, melt-through, melt-out cores.

The former reactor cores (now a bastardized slag called corium) may have burned through the underlying concrete foundation and now are melting the wet construction soil under the plant complex into dirt volcanoes. The resulting fissures could undermine the entire plant complex and collapse structures into sinkholes. Theories yes, but not beyond the realm of possibility.

Hot radioactive steam has been detected the past few days by Japanese scientists and we wonder if perhaps a version of the China Syndrome is about to occur at Daiichi. Will it? Stay tuned…the fat lady has not sung her last song at Fukushima Daiichi.

    • What do you think is the source for these levels Sickputer?

I found a nuclear lab with particle accelerator very near Pierre that was recently a mine full of water. I bet it is swamped now. Who knows though whether it is the source of Pierre’s high readings.

I believe that Fort Calhoun is the source of much of the radiation in Omaha but not Canada.

I think we can thank Fukushima for Canada.

I look at all cities in the region and cross-tabulate with jet stream.

It is tough sometimes because so many cities are under review. However, the data do reveal trends and I think that Fort Calhoun is in trouble and the people of Iowa are sacrificial lambs…

One of my all-time campy movies with a very young Steve McQueen. I do see some similarities in their predicament compared to Japan. It seems like the Blob has other world intelligence…just like the unnatural uranium monster science has spawned on the human race.
