Alarms raised on West Coast over unprecedented die-off of nearly endangered marine mammals — More have washed up in last few months than during all of recorded history combined — Experts scrambling to deal with latest wildlife crisis in Pacific — Official: “What’s going to happen next?” (VIDEO)

Press Democrat (Sonoma County), Jun 7, 2015 (emphasis added): Fur seal strandings on California coast raise alarmIn what’s already a grim year along California’s shores for marine wildlife, concern is growing about rare fur seals that are turning up, weak and emaciated… [They’re] rarely seen anywhere close to land… About 50 or 60 strandings have been reported so far, with exact numbers unavailable… crews have scrambled to deal with the new crisis… Guadalupe fur seals… are listed as threatened on the federal Endangered Species List… the impact of large-scale losses could be significant, said Moe Flannery [Calif. Academy of Sciences]… The stranding surge comes amid a scramble to address a variety of issues among marine mammals… they recovered 33 dead animals in April and May alone… The most Guadalupe fur seals the [Marine Mammal Center] hospital has seen in a given year is four, though usually it’s two or fewer… currently [it] has 14 Guadalupe fur seals and has lost 11 since mid-February…

Justin Viezbicke, NOAA: “We’re kind of all hands on deck for the stranding community right now.”

Shawn Johnson, Marine Mammal Center director: “These little guys are coming in at, basically, birth weight… They’re extremely emaciated… This is the first time this has ever happened for us, so it’s a surprise… and it’s something to be concerned about for the fur seal pups, but also for what’s going to happen next.”

Sue Pemberton, CA Academy of Sciences:

  • May 21: Dead Guadalupe fur seal pup #29, since April 4th. Unprecedented in my 21 years of working with marine mammals
  • May 11: The #guadalupefurseal die-off has kicked in to high gear with #10 in the last week. This is a big hit for these guys
  • May 7: Collected two more Guadalupe fur seals today as the die-off continues

NOAA (pdf), Jun 1, 2015: Q: Have other marine mammals been affected by this stranding event? A: Yes, there has been an increase in Guadalupe fur seal strandings.

NBC Bay Area, May 27, 2015: Scientists are concerned about the impact of the die-off on the endangered Guadalupe fur seal.

Tenaya Norris, Marine Mammal Center, 2014-2015 Pacific Anomalies Science and Technology Workshop, May 6, 2015 (at 3:02:30):

  • “Usually we don’t see very many of these [Guadalupe fur seals], 0-5 every year since our records began in 1975. This year we’ve had, I think it’s now 16 of these guys… This is a dramatic increase from one year to the next, and from a pretty flat line.”
  • Slide: Record number of Guadalupe fur seal strandings in 2015 — Expected to do slightly better with warm waters – Really bad out there

According to Norris’ graphic on Guadalupe fur seal strandings, only 62 have been documented in the 30 years since record keeping began. The Press Democrat reports “50 or 60 strandings… with exact numbers unavailable” for the first 5 months of 2015.

I don't know MVB. That Yemen detonation has some real evidence to back up the claim. I'm still waiting for ground level verification. Other cases from 2013 are also suspect. The problem is getting real data other than video. In a war zone who can really do a specific survey for radiological contamination without risking life and limb. That is why it works for them. With no hard news and no MM news outlet to raise the stakes the use of limited low yield nukes is conceivable in plain view. Fission products can be concealed, blast zones can be restricted. It all can be calculated to such a degree it becomes a regular occurrence, a standard for hardened targets. No media outlet in the west is going to broadcast that kind of news it just isn't going to happen. When and if they bomb central cities with higher yield weapons then it will undeniable.

Sad to see this thread descend into vitriol so early in the morning. If radiation makes you crazy, mean and then dead, maybe we should try to have a little more patience and compassion for each other. Not very nice to judge someone if their brain is degenerating from radiation, which is going to happen to all of us at some point. And religion is ot and always, always destroys the threads. And religiously speaking, I think kindness is what matters most and it seems to be lacking in this here thread.

                • Yes. Mucks up the thread, and also is tedious. And boring. I read, but don't post often anymore for fear of getting jumped-on, and do a whole lot of "uchhk"-ing and scrolling. It's just so dissappointingly yuck when this happens, and it's happening a lot.

What I have to say is for Praising Truth: I sternly reject that you ever use citations of parts of comments of mine and make it look like I'm an ally of your religious-political hate campaigns. Verboten! You get it?

Apart from that it's very mysterious why you would even use that citation. It stems from a discussion on the topic of human population decline and therefore is off-topic squared: neither has it anything to do with the topic of this thread, nor does it touch the political-religious side battle which is derailing the thread for a while. Don't tell me you think the word "siberia" is good enough ammunition for you to paint someone a russian spy! The word "siberia" in the context of my comment is a metaphor, a picture; and I even spelled it out – letter for letter – for someone like you that it is not to be taken literally, but is used sarcastically. I could equally have used "Guantanamo" or "Sing sing" instead of "siberia". I will conclude with what Sadie Dog would say: "You cannot fix stupid!"

Not being caught up in any organized, controlling religion… I always believed that God's covenant with the Jewish was contingent on the behavior of the Jewish people and not a given. Personally, it occurs that the Jewish people, in Jerusalem are not very good neighbors. It often seems a similar relation that Americans have with their Mexican neighbors, but much worse. Shouldn't the Jewish in Jerusalem work to be excellent neighbors and "Godly like" with forgiveness and helping hands? Sorry, they do not occur to want peace with their neighbors, they do not seem to want to compromise with anyone, often it seems they act entitled as a whole. I do hope they will come to a different way of being, but currently, to me, it seems they are not keeping their covenant with God and therefore God will shun them yet again.

"Not since records began has the region of the North Pacific Ocean been so warm for so long."

What's more, this warm blob has been disrupting ocean ecosystems, the researchers said. For instance, fish have been spotted in new waters, in part because they lack the normally nutrient-rich, cold waters that upwell from deep in the ocean. Skinny and dying sea lion pups and seabirds have been washing ashore off California's coast, according to the "Annual State of the California Current Ecosystem Report."

To help the Pacific Ocean I have a bunch of carbon-credits to sell you.

Once you buy enough of these, the waters will magically cool.

The Pacific Ocean foodweb depends on plankton and krill. A published article by K.R. Smith documented a collapse of biomass that then littered the bottom of the oceans.

If you look at the amount of nano-particles carried by plankton going up the food chain, scientists could attribute a cause to the die-offs we have been witnessing since 3-11.

Under the guise of "not spreading fear, a cover-up has been instituted. The effects of nuclear testing were covered up until they could no longerl9nger ered up. Then a downwinder compensation act provided token compensation to victims.

Geiger counters cannot detect these nano-particles. There were unwarranted risks taken in the joint Japanese-US nuclear programs that exacerbated both the severe environmental consequences we are witnessing and the risks of occurrence of the high-consequence events themselves. Nobody is going to step forward and acknowledge responsibility. Keeping Fukushima out of the mainstream media for a few more years, and calling all those who question the official line, "conspiracy theorists," will kick the can down the road.

Meanwhile, the term "dirty device" is again in the news. Fukushima is a "dirty device? but cannot be attributed to "bad guys."

Fukushima will dump all of its nuclear fallout into the atmosphere and ocean where it will be vectored to the rest of the planet in the conveyor systems. Mixing it all in to dilute it, hopefully, is all that can be done.

    • Socrates

Between the military and peaceful uses of the atom, the free market capitalism over-determines behaviors aimed at full-spectrum dominance by both corporations and military. Without nuclear weapons, the US would not be able to dominate the planet. Its corporations could not enforce its economic system through neoliberalism.

Since WW II, uranium and plutonium have been much more valuable than gold. The cabal that controls the world knows these things. Their grip is predicated on both uses of the atom. The people of the world and now the marine life are just roadkill. These "controllers" are clinically insane. I have always known this since the 50s.

Bilderbegers are not concerned with meltdowns. They just want more power. They are all psychpaths and sociopaths without any social or moral conscience. They want their billions of dollars and to dominate the world with the atom and gas and oil. They want to control the food and water, too. This is the end fame of a virtual game of Monopoly. They won and the vast number of the 7 billion people on this planet have lost. We are losing our environment that supports life itself. Without that biological substrate, the human species will become extinct. Our germ cells are the genetic code we carry forward. These eggs are scambled.

We will have many more Fukushimas, Chernobyls and Three Miles Islands. Santa Susanas at Simi and many oil spills and Santa Barbara and BP spills. I tend to believe in climate change. Then we have the vast preparations for war and an impending economic collapse.

Under these circumstances, it is difficult to take the clown show of the 2016 presidential race seriously. By choosing a D or an R, will these clear and present dangers be elimiated? It is all about getting billionaires to pay for the campaigns of these candidates.

Every day at low tide, I survey the death of the oceans. I feel that industrial and agricultural civilization has done this. They call this "progress."

Oh well. Fellow enenewsers….. enjoy what is left because it will not last.

Well said Socrates! Age and wisdom will be a thing most people will have to learn to live without! A "D" or an R won't mean shit they are all paid for in hell with representation hail the all mighty dollar! (until it drops like a rock that is)

There will come a time when the dollar wont buy a small rock.

    • Socrates

Tinfoil….. D and R love oil, gas, coal and nukes. Fukushima and climate change are wrecking the Pacific Ocean. These are things they can do nothing about. C02 is above 400ppm. More drilling in the Arctic and tar sands and fracking. Seems like we are out on a limb sawing….

I hear double-talk coming out of their mouths. I could not buy it as a kid and sure do not buy it with experience. It is make-believe time in Washington, D.C. A media-circus election is coming up in 2016. Big donors have already put in billions of dollars to insure that nobody gets elected who would change to direction of the Titanic. Despite the iceberg, the hull was advertised as indestructible and the ship was unsinkable.

For me, industrial civilization and agribusiness is incompatible per se with human survival. We all got so used to being mass consumers that we ignored reality. There is a heavy price to pay for ignoring reality. They ignored reality at Fukushima. They ignore reality with carbon-based fuels. How many trillions of tons of coal was burned in the past two-hundred years? How much lead gasoline? How much DDT? How many GME plants? How much Roundup? No wonder the bees and sea lions are dying off. We are next. Very simple.

      • We Not They Finally

Yes, AND….. most people (naturally) only blame what they can see — a hyper-industrialized world burning too much fuel. But actually, what can be researched about the POST-industrial world (= the high tech electronic mess in the sky) may not only be worse, but it is, much of it, under control of the military. Like HAARP not only used for weather control, but punching holes in the ionosphere, which CAUSES global warming.

What we CAN see with our eyes is terrible. What we CAN'T see, though, maybe even a lot worse. And what we REALLY can't see — like radiation not having visible markers — all that much the more.

It's just that it's no longer about USAGE of anything. It's about power and control by untouchable elements in the culture. Even read the other day that work is being done to research if w-fi can replace electricity. So we'll all get that much more bombarded by "rays" of various sorts. With no choice.

Russia takes credit for the 9.0 earthquake that caused the China Syndrome at Fukushima Daiichi:

Russian Leader Implies Japan Earthquake was Triggered by Secret Weapon
“Four months ago on Russian TV, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the controversial leader of Russia’s ultra-nationalist Liberal Democratic Party and the State Duma’s deputy speaker, went on a rant threatening to use new, secret weapons that can “destroy any part of the planet within 15 minutes.” [1] Zhirinovsky said that with these weapons there would be “no explosion, no ray burst. Not some kind of laser, not lightining. It’s a calm and quiet weapon instead with which whole continents will be put to sleep forever.” [2]
“A recent Financial Times article titled Cameron’s missed Moscow gambit focused on a specific area of the Zhirinovsky interview relative to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami:
“’Russia, he said, had developed a new secret weapon that would soon unleash non-explosive but massive destruction on the world. What was it, asked the interviewer, with some interest? Mr Zhirinovsky replied that it was secret, but one only had to look at the Japanese tsunami for a clue – and then to think about Russia’s dispute with Japan about the possession of the Kurile Islands.”’[3]
          “Here’s a partial transcript:
“Zhirinovsky: ‘Russia with lots of money, resources, and new weapons, that no one knows about… not yet. With them WE WILL DESTROY any part of the planet within 15 minutes. Not an explosion, not a ray burst, not…

some kind of a laser, not a lightning. It’s a quiet weapon instead with which whole continents will be put to sleep forever. That’s all, for now.’
Reporter: ‘There was that tsunami in Japan, right?’
Zhirinovsky: ‘I say, if you want even the tiniest Kuril Island from us, you will have to dig in the wreckage and debris of their buildings. And, 120 million of you will all die! And, that goes for the rest of the world too. Everybody should start thinking about their future.’
“Four islands, which Russia calls the Southern Kurils and Japan calls the Northern Territories, have been the subject of a dispute between the two nations since the end of World War II. The dispute arose due to ambiguities in Yalta agreement and subsequent disagreements about its meaning….”

              Oh, Yalta:

"There is the very important WWII story everybody keep quiet about.

Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin had met in Yalta, USSR , from February 4 – 11, 1945. The purpose of this meeting was to work out a post-WW II "New World Order".

At this meeting, communist-sympathizer Roosevelt suggested that he and Stalin would rule the NWO with England taking a back sit. Churchill went ballistic. On April 12, 1945, Roosevelt suddenly died. The autopsy was not performed. Stalin requested an investigation into the Roosevelt death but the new US president Harry Truman had different ideas and had nothing to do with Roosevelt's vision of the post-WW II world.

Some people thought that British killed Roosevelt. In any case, the world was saved from a Roosevelt-Stalin world nightmare."

No link, just a comment I copied from somewhere. There is more to Yalta than what they teach in school. Just a bit of food for thought.

'Experts Agree – Best Option Now: Keep America As Comfortable As Possible Till End'

"Saying there were no other options remaining and that continued intervention would only prolong the nation’s suffering, experts concluded Tuesday that the best course of action is to keep the United States as comfortable as possible until the end.

According to those familiar with its condition, the country’s long, painful decline over the past several decades has made it clear that the most compassionate choice at this juncture is to do whatever is possible to ensure America is at ease during its last moments.

“We need to accept the fact that the U.S. doesn’t have long—simply helping it pass that time in comfort is the humane thing to do,” said economist Danielle Martin, speaking on behalf of a large group of experts ranging from sociologists and historians to lawmakers and environmentalists, all of whom confirmed they had “done everything [they] could.” “Attempting to stabilize the country in its current enfeebled state would not only be extremely expensive, but it would also cause unnecessary agony as it enters this final stage. With how hard the nation is struggling to perform even basic functions, letting it meet its end naturally is the merciful decision here.”

Added Martin: “At the end of the day, it’s nearly 240 years old—what can you reasonably expect?”

      • Time Is Short Time Is Short

Others agreed with Martin, saying that, with America having gradually become a weak, almost unrecognizable shadow of its former self, the priority now should be ensuring that it is given whatever palliative support it needs and using the remaining time to put the nation’s affairs in order.

Sources also emphasized that citizens who have not already begun to emotionally prepare themselves for the country’s demise should begin to do so.

“At a time like this, it’s completely understandable to wish for some kind of 11th-hour miracle, but expecting the U.S. to somehow magically return to the way it was in its prime isn’t healthy or realistic,” said Georgetown University researcher Andrew Fischer, who later stressed that just because the nation still has “the occasional good day,” this should not cause anyone to get their hopes up for a sudden recovery. “It’s important to manage expectations and realize that sometime very soon, we’re all going to have to say goodbye.”

“We just need to remember all the good times we had,” Fischer continued. “Like the moon landing—that was really nice, wasn’t it?”

Many of those with close ties to the United States said they were having difficulty coming to terms with the country’s imminent passing, but that letting it go peacefully was ultimately for the best.

        • Time Is Short Time Is Short

“At one point, I would’ve done anything if it meant having America around for just a little longer, but I can’t watch it slowly waste away like this anymore,” said Tampa, FL resident Kathy Muniz, adding that it “breaks [her] heart” when she sees how hard the U.S. struggles to put on a brave face and pretend that everything is fine. “The kindest thing now is to just do what we can to keep the nation’s spirits up while nature takes its course.”

“Really, I think any country in America’s position would want the same,” Muniz added."

And this is an Onion piece…

Beware them both, and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom, unless the writing be erased. I choose not to put energy in fighting nuclear weapons because I feel there is nothing that is going to eliminate all countries from having the nuke weapons they have.

So actually if you watched Hitler attacking "all this catastrophe just to boil water", if you watched the video, I think the average person, especially one familiar with Fukushima and WIPP would find it quite funny.

So your comments are seen as befuddling.

Nuclear weapons currently is a very sad reality that exists on our only inhabitable planet.

Maybe my memory is poor, but I thought stock once said when we were arguing with the troll, who at the time was Bill Duff, that stock said that he had nothing against nuclear weapons.

And about that time stock joked, if my memory is correct, that if he had studied nuclear engineering, he would have been on the opposite side of the argument.

But people say things and then change their minds.

I still don't think jokes about Hitler are funny. He really started the atomic bomb race. If German scientists and Japanese scientists hadn't started trying to make an atomic bomb, Einstein would never have advised Roosevelt in 1939 that the US needed to perfect the technology first. The US was attacked both by Germany and Japan first in WWII. It was a defensive war for the US which did not want to go to war, but at the time were isolationists.

“Hitler told Himmler that it was not enough for the Jews simply to die; they must die in agony. What was the best way to prolong their agony? Himmler turned the problem over to his advisers, who concluded that a slow, agonizing death could be brought about by placing Jewish prisoners in freight cars in which the floors were coated with…quicklime…which produced excruciating burns. The advisers estimated that it would take four days for the prisoners to die, and for that whole time the freight cars could be left standing on some forgotten siding…. Finally it was decided that the freight cars should be used in addition to the extermination camps.

                    Japanese War Crimes
“Japanese war crimes occurred in many Asian and Pacific countries during the period of Japanese imperialism, primarily during the Second Sino-Japanese War and World War II. Some of the incidents have also been described as an Asian Holocaust[1] and Japanese war atrocities.[2][3][4] Some war crimes were committed by military personnel from the Empire of Japan in the late 19th century, although most took place during the first part of the Shōwa Era, the name given to the reign of Emperor Hirohito, until the military defeat of the Empire of Japan, in 1945.
“Historians and governments of some countries hold Japanese military forces, namely the Imperial Japanese Army, the Imperial Japanese Navy, and the Imperial Japanese family, especially Emperor Hirohito, responsible for killings and other crimes committed against millions of civilians and prisoners of war.[5][6][7][8][9] Some Japanese soldiers have admitted to committing these crimes.[10] Airmen of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service and Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service were not included as war criminals as there was no positive or specific customary international humanitarian law that prohibited the unlawful conducts of aerial warfare before and during World War II. The Imperial Japanese Army Air Service took part in conducting chemical and biological attacks on enemy nationals during the Second Sino-Japanese War and World War II and the use of such weapons in warfare were generally prohibited by…

international agreements signed by Japan, including the Hague Conventions (1899 and 1907), which banned the use of ‘poison or poisoned weapons’ in warfare.[11][12]
“Since the 1950s, senior Japanese Government officials have issued numerous apologies for the country's war crimes. Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the country acknowledges its role in causing "tremendous damage and suffering" during World War II, especially in regard to the IJA entrance into Nanjing during which Japanese soldiers killed a large number of non-combatants and engaged in looting and rape.[13] Some members of the Liberal Democratic Party in the Japanese government such as former prime minister Junichiro Koizumi and current Prime Minister Shinzo Abe have prayed at the Yasukuni Shrine, which includes convicted Class A war criminals in its honored war dead. Some Japanese history textbooks only offer brief references to the various war crimes,[14] and members of the Liberal Democratic Party such as Shinzo Abe have denied some of the atrocities such as government involvement in abducting women to serve as "comfort women" (involuntary prostitutes).[10][15] In addition to Japanese military and civil personnel, Allied authorities found that Korean and Taiwanese serving in the forces of the Empire of Japan also committed war crimes.”

Putin's Kleptocracy: Who Owns Russia? Hardcover – September 30, 2014
                      by Karen Dawisha (Author)

“The raging question in the world today is who is the real Vladimir Putin and what are his intentions. Karen Dawisha’s brilliant Putin’s Kleptocracy provides an answer, describing how Putin got to power, the cabal he brought with him, the billions they have looted, and his plan to restore the Greater Russia.

“Russian scholar Dawisha describes and exposes the origins of Putin’s kleptocratic regime. She presents extensive new evidence about the Putin circle’s use of public positions for personal gain even before Putin became president in 2000. She documents the establishment of Bank Rossiya, now sanctioned by the US; the rise of the Ozero cooperative, founded by Putin and others who are now subject to visa bans and asset freezes; the links between Putin, Petromed, and “Putin’s Palace” near Sochi; and the role of security officials from Putin’s KGB days in Leningrad and Dresden, many of whom have maintained their contacts with Russian organized crime.

“Putin’s Kleptocracy is the result of years of research into the KGB and the various Russian crime syndicates. Dawisha’s sources include Stasi archives; Russian insiders; investigative journalists in the US, Britain, Germany, Finland, France, and Italy; and Western officials who served in Moscow. Russian journalists wrote part of this story when the Russian media was still free. “Many of them died for this story, and their…

                      One comment to Putin’s Kleptocracy:
“Earlier this year, I read that Cambridge Press refused to publish this book for fear of a libel lawsuit. Of course, I was intrigued and curious about its contents.

“It is a no holds barred expose about the deeply ingrained and rampant corruption permeating Russia since the fall of the USSR. Ms Dawisha lays out in great details based on primary sources, WiKileaks and extensive research of public documents – the machinations and illegal predatory schemes perpetrated by Putin and his inner circle, beginning from 1990 to the present. The author exposes Putin's rise to power from his early days as a KGB officer in East Germany to his stint in St. Petersburg, where he was embroiled with the local Mafia, ex-KGB apparatchiks and bureaucrats in several shady financial schemes involving the diversion of municipal funds, illegal arms shipments, the food shortage scandal of 1991, local gambling industry and money laundering for the Cali drug cartel through the Real Estate Board of St. Petersburg. Putin ‘was a thug and a crook from the very beginning, and the people of St. Petersburg knew it.’
“As head of the FSB and with the support of a close knit cabal, Putin rapidly rose to power and by 2005 was elected (fraudulently according to the book and others) as President of Russia.
By the end of the USSR, the KGB secreted about $300 billion in currency and gold outside the country. Funds that they then used to purchase industries and banks in the…

A cabal of oligarchs, Mafiosos and ex-KGB and FSB cronies run the state through Putin, by usurping all the levers of power, production, commerce and finance. Dawisha writes, "Putin and KGB sought from the beginning to establish an authoritarian regime in Russia, not perhaps for its own sake but because controlling the political and economic development of the country was for them a greater ambition than building any democracy."
In the Introduction, the author writes, "when Putin was declared the winner of the 2012 presidential elections, increased targeted repressions began again …. non-violent demonstrators were once again sentenced to either prison or indefinite psychiatric treatment.

“According to Transparency International, the rampant corruption costs over $300 billion per year; and over $325 billion has been secreted out of Russia since 2005. Putin nationalized risk and privatized rewards (to his supporters).
“The author names a rogues gallery of characters besides Putin; Berezovsky, Kalugin, Smirnov, Zolotov, Petrov, Malacheff et al., and describes their associations and malfeasance. The establishment of offshore havens in Ossetia, Abkhazia and Transnistria to hide assets, launder money and counterfeit currencies is exposed.

Is he now controlling and eliminating the hold of his inner circle? How much and what did the US know? Are sanctions against individuals ( the oligarchs of the inner circle) affecting Putin's administration? A good start to get some answers is to follow the money.

“This is a well documented scholarly book, written in clear concise language. Chapters are well organized and the writing flows evenly. It should be required reading for students, members of government and academics, and anyone who wants to understand the new Russia.

                      Another comment to Putin’s Kleptocracy:
Karen Dawisha's book, "Putin's Kleptocracy: Who Own's Russia" is not light reading by any means. A lot of research has gone into this, and there is a lot to comprehend. Nevertheless, you will absorb a lot even from just one reading, and what you will find may surprise you.
From reading recent headlines about Putin, occupying the Georgian province of Abkhazia, along with sending troops into Eastern Ukraine and denying it, it is obvious that Putin is not only a tyrant, but a liar, a cheat, and a thief. He got to where he is today by lying cheating, and stealing. Most of all, he is evil, and this book presents evidence backing up all of this.
With Putin, this has been a way of life. Putin started out in the KGB, working as an officer in East Germany for five years during the time of the Soviet Union. He was chiefly into espionage, stealing weapons designs from industries in the West. Fifty percent of all Soviet (and now Russian) weapons systems were based on stolen designs. When East Germany fell, Putin helped to destroy lists of East German informers.
Soon after, Putin become deputy mayor of St. Petersburg, where he took plenty of bribes and kickbacks, until finally, was selected by Boris Yeltsin to become the Russian Prime Minister and soon after, its President.
Putin was not without his critics. He has been investigated by the FSB (equal to the FBI) and other law enforcement agencies, even indicted, but was never brought up…

for trial. Putin always escaped it through his connections, up until the time he became president. There have also been attempts on his life.
Russia, in the 1990s, was awash with criminal activity and corruption. When Putin declared as president that he would crack down and put an end to it, what he really meant is that he would make himself the kingpin and collect all the profits. Russia, at present, is a mafia state, run by Putin and backed up by his cronies, being his now billionaire friends running all the businesses, who will all remain in their place with their billions as long as they remain loyal to Putin, along with ex-KGB officers combined with the Russian Mafia. It is believed that Putin's cronies control 35% of Russia's wealth, much of it in overseas banks, including the United States.

“In order to get a clear idea of how Putin runs the country and how he treats his people, I will present a partial list of his doings from being deputy mayor of St. Petersburg in the 1990s up to the present, all of it explained in greater detail in the book. These are not in any particular order, but it doesn't matter.
Putin embezzled funds meant to build health clinics all over Russia for a "palace" in Genendzlik. Putin has many luxurious private dachas and palaces.
“In 2005, Putin literally stole a four carat Super Bowl ring from the hand of Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots. Putin kept it for his own.
He bought and sold companies at low prices…

and criminally privatized them into the hands of friends. The Baltic Shipping Company is one example.
“Roman Tsepov ran Putin's tribute system, i.e. money Putin skims for his own pockets, and had high influences in many companies, but overstepped his boundaries when he wanted a share of Yukos oil. He was poisoned by radiation.
“Putin bought a dacha in the Ozero cooperative in 1992, on the banks of Lake Komosomol'skoye, and threatened to burn down the houses of local residents if they did not sell their land. In other cases, people would be run off their land to make room for a new dacha or palace for Putin.
When a dacha of Putin's burned down, the original builders rebuilt it, in better condition, free of charge. I do not think this was voluntary.
“In 1991, deputy mayor Putin, without permission, took money from the St. Petersburg budget, meant to buy food for the starving populace (being 90 Deutschmarks) and bought German meat and had it delivered to the KGB in Moscow. Putin did not care about the starving populace.
Money and goods meant for food went elsewhere, and Putin and his friends profited, putting the money in offshore (foreign) banks.
“The FSB, with Putin's knowledge, set up bombings of apartments in St. Petersburg, killing innocent people, and putting the blame on the Chechnyans, as an excuse to start another war with Chechnya.
Oversaw the gambling industry in St. Petersburg, skimming off the profits.
                      Used unauthorized funds for apartments,…

                      cars, luxury items.
Eliminated the business competitors of friends, using KGB methods, and imprisoning many of them, including his own political rivals.
“Smuggled rare metals out of Russia.
“Putin was in a car on the Moscow-Minsk highway. The driver (not Putin) drove at high speeds, killing a five year old boy. The body was removed from the scene and altered, and no one was charged.
When the submarine Kursk sank in 2000, Putin did not interrupt his vacation in Sochi. It seemed that he did not care, according to one secretary.
“In the 2012 reelection for President, Putin destroyed the reputation of his opponents, funded his campaign with stolen money from Gazprom, and massive cheating was done, through false ballots, stuffing boxes with dead people's names, voter intimidation, correcting votes (changing the votes as ballots were counted), and even burned ballots for other candidates. The Moscow Times itself stated that Putin would not have won without cheating.

“From there, you have the idea of how Russia is governed, and that Putin today is creating as much trouble outside of Russia as he possibly can to see if he can get away with it. If the world does nothing, he will continue to do so.
“Russia is not communist, but it isn't democratic either. It is a plutocracy, run by Putin and his very rich friends, all of their wealth stolen from legitimate businesses and the Russian people themselves. He is also taking away all of their newly won freedoms, but…

eliminating elections for local leaders and appointing them instead. This will only continue.
“Russian society is deteriorating. Health spending and other public services are being cut while Putin and his cronies pocket billions from the Russian treasury. There is a high mortality rate, low birth rates, except among the Muslim population, and in increase in prostitution, alcoholism, and suicides. According to Transparency International, Russia ranks 127 out of 177 in the level of corruption. Wealth inequality is increasing, and this inhibits the prosperity of up and coming talented people.
The people who are suffering the most from all this are the Russian people themselves, and they know it. Putin does occasionally win their support by annexing Crimea, but slowly, they are seeing Putin for what he really is.
“Russia is a feudal regime, like it was back in the time of the Tsars. As long his cronies are loyal to Putin, he can have anything he wants, and that is how Putin keeps in power. Loyalty, discipline, and silence are the commands for his cronies. An "omerta" the mafia code of silence. How long this will last is anybody's guess, but Russia may need another uprising to get rid of all this.
The author says it best at the end of her book. In the last paragraph, she states, "The only way for ordinary Russian to avoid state predation is to keep their heads down and believe in fate, or turn into cheerleaders of the system in order to gain insurance and a few…

This is getting worse, per these reports. I hate to hear about these poor, blighted animals!.. This is a clear pattern that does not have to do with a drought. And I fear for animal/fish/bird/sea lovers all around the West Coast… This is so demoralizing!!!- 🙁 Condolences to all!!~

Actually, a California sea lion in an aquarium here on the East Coast abruptly perished several months ago. I'm afraid they were shipping foodstuffs from the Pacific to make it feel more at home in a new exhibit. They seem to have no awareness of the disaster here. (On the radio they advertise Pacific Salmon for sale everyday!) Otherwise, all the sea mammals in the exhibits out here (to include Sea World!) look fat, plush, & sassy. I hope they stay well & get the right kind of foods for their species!…

Where is Noah when you need him?!…

    • alasanon

To clarify, I literally saw all the East Coast/Atlantic seals & sea lion species are absolutely flourishing here, having healthy fat pups, and eating native foods that they should eat out here….

But, one of the poor California sea lions at the same Zoo was being fed something else upon moving to a gorgeous new exhibit… This animal had EVERY advantage–great care, beautiful setting, expert handlers, no prior health issues, but then they ship in West Coast foods?…

Is it a coincidence that all the East coast animals were doing great–very fat & sassy?!..And then after all the investment in the deluxe exhibit, the Zoo could not offer any explanation for the sudden demise of the poor California sea lion (which had TONS of passionate fans, by the way!!!)…People were heart-broken… Now multiply that a Million out West.. 🙁

        • alasanon

          Time is Short,

Actually, those deaths out of the Atlantic are just the seasonal norm and fluctuations for many years (it usually has to do with storms and quickly tested confirmed routine infections)—If you read the articles, you can see that there isn't much alarm over these events… For example, "the turtle deaths did not appear unusual"… But, frankly, no one wants to lose ANY turtles and there are regular pollution issues…

Living here–on the water!!–and being an environmentalist involved with local aquariums and turtle hospitals, there has been just NO public blip of news on anything unusual washing up… Every few years there can be a whale that washes up, but it has died of easily determinable causes and does not look unusual or to be starving-???…

This is in SHARP CONTRAST to the record deaths NOW and wipe-out unseen in marine science history occurring on the West Coast–even showing up in mainstream media. Plus, you just can't ignore those numbers or sights locally!!

Here we have no dead animals showing up and the bird populations seem unusually strong, in my opinion… Osprey birds are a formerly endangered, bellwether species…and I see them in profusion on the water NOW with several nests and hatchlings… (crossing fingers!!!) They do not tolerate pollution…

Typically, the pollution & sea traffic out here is MUCH worse historically than off the West Coast, so that is what makes the present CONTRAST all the more remarkable!! 🙁

        • alasanon

I agree that all seafood seems to be in question as of late…

I just want to emphasize that the return of Ospreys to this part of the Mid-Atlantic Coast was a totally stubborn battle (& victory!) by environmentalists over years…and citizens have really fought to clean up the area…

But, to be honest, the waters/skies here seem to be teeming with life when you check it out… I see the wild ospreys, seagulls, cormorants, great blue herons, egrets, hawks, falcons, ducks, and geese in large numbers… I also can spot big turtles, snakes, on any given day, etc… It's like a Zoo!!-

          • alasanon

It's just so radically beautiful!!–it's hard to not get involved & personal about it…It's great to see the pride in the endangered sea turtle nesting grounds in South Carolina–fiercely patrolled by Police forces and citizens alike…The locals are pretty protective of their Atlantic dolphins, too.. And there were brown pelicans flying at every turn when I was last there… 🙂 (sigh)

I see the seal lion pups dying on the beach every Spring and Summer during the past three years or so. I listen to Dana Durnford describe the lack of life in tide pools in Canada. I see very little life in tide pools in Southern California. I hear that oyster beds are gone. Monterey and other fishing places such as Moro Bay have no fish. These are tourist traps. I used to catch clams in Long Beach. No salmon runs up the San Diego River. Industrial civiluzation and modern agribusiness kills everything in its path.

More dumping of pesticides, fertilizers, heavy metals, solvents, phamacueticals. It is all in the oceans from sewers, run-off, storm drains, dumping, military operations…

I work with animal shelters and conservancies by financial support. When you visit these shelters, you are saying goodbye to entire species. This is what they call "progress." The short-term financial incentives in this system outweight long-term intrrests in not destroying nature. Man is a short-term, srlf-interested thinker. He has no long-term survival instincts. It was always fight or flight, and territorial and tribal imperatives. That equipped us for repeated iceages but not for long-term survival. We are truly short-sighted as a species.

When are people going to get it? These WARS/ Massacres, done by us, are NOT for US. And they cause a lot more injury, To US (in many ways), than could they ever be good for US.

What a bunch of idiots. Gosh!

  • I am going to say this as simply as possible.
No matter the arguments about physics, moderators, reactivity, they all matter naught because we already have the elephant in the room captured.

The EPA took air sampling data in the weeks following Fukushima. And they released the results.
Those show density of radionuclides in the air.

To be correct, you need to subtract the original "background density" which isn't much, now you know the added density.

If you take the added density and multiply by volume of air, you get the mass that was recently added.

That mass was in the range of 200,000 lbs, using the EPA data.

Therefore, we must conclude that the only way to launch that much from inside a reactor vessel or even a deep used fuel pool is for the explosion to come from inside the vessel, an explosion originating in the fuel itself.

A hydrogen explosion would not start within the vessel, it would occur across the whole volume of the building filled with hydrogen.

This is the slam dunk. Don't be fooled by hocus pocus technology that only a few of us understand. It is much more simple than that.

      I reported it and added:
"I am 100% supporting this request to ban Praising Truth AKA… permanently for the reasons or-well gave here."
I'm normally never in support of banning, but in this instance, after or-well suggested it, I immediately felt it is the right thing to do, in order to honour the effort to contribute high-value content or-well and a few others (and the admin, of course) are leaving on this site and which is usually buried in an avalanche of propaganda, nonsense, BS, spam, scrambled speech and disinformation.

In the end, I do not expect P.T. will be banned or banning her (for me it makes much more sense to assume it's not a "her", but a whole team, an organisation) will change a lot. What is needed is a discussion culture where people adhere to the posting rules, talk preferably about things they understand, are able to deliver evidence for claims they are making. Ideas have to be distinct, so that reason can act upon them. Buckets full of words and phrases poured over the audience are not ideas or thoughts. Ideas are to be expressed within the framework of established science, unless someone can demonstrate that the established science has to be revised. (Yes, there was science, meaning progress and insights for mankind, before the first psychopathic pro-nuker was born and before science became science-business, serving predominantly a few rich individuals, governments, the military…)

      • m a x l i

Don't be intimidated by the word science! No PhD required! If you are generally curious and willing to learn new things, you are telling ideas that are based on observation, evidence and logical reasoning, you are ready to answer questions about your ideas anyone has for you, you can explain your ideas – so that the average person can understand it, you can admit that your ideas were wrong when someone does prove it to you, then you are a scientist.

Occasional off-topic small talk can be fruitful where it helps to bond individuals together who are working together on a common goal. (You can observe this positive small-talk effect in any workplace.) But, no one should consider this site as their personal property where they can unload their personal religious or political views permanently in large quantities, overshadowing anything else.

One more thing: You guys ever noticed, that no one of the calibre and knowledge of Chris Busby or Helen Caldicott, for instance, is ever taking part in the comment section on Enenews? Think about why that is! If I was one of them, I wouldn't waste my time here, at least not as long as the derelict state of the comment section continues.

    • I agree with Or-Well. I have had enough of that, too.

"I am self-reporting this post to ADMIN.

May this stand as my agreement… Honestly, it seems worse than it was a month back, when I first took my vacation from ENEnews (and why…)

Aw, she's not all bad, but she really hates the Russians, but I suppose everyone did back in the day. Many successful years of propaganda and her own personal experiences married to a Ukrainian I think. Or she's controlled opposition, I don't know. Who knows? She does contribute a good deal of info. Either I feel sorry for her or she's the most wickedly deceptive government agent of all time. I'm on the fence.

mm, that's fine, but I've seen enough over the years to realise she is a profoundly ignorant, simple-minded zealot who sees the world from an absurdly black-or-white-no-gray-perspective.
I've watched her spam religion and toss ridiculous unsubstantiable accusations around and make completely erroneous statements that a well-educated child would know are incorrect.
Her contributions? Copy, Cut and Paste from searches.

      • melting mermaid melting mermaid

I'm going to shut up now on account of how long it took me to learn how to copy, cut and paste. I still write all my quotes with one finger. I don't even own a computer anymore. And we don't have wifi or tv. I'm like a cavegirl. I don't Facebook. In fact yall are about the only adult conversation I have. Most people I know don't want to talk about this kind of stuff. They think I'm really out there. I'm full of conspiracy theories. Like recently I was reading FBI files about Lokas and Talas. Very interesting. But not something you can talk about to the random person. Like Fukushima and colonialism and US foreign policy. Once, at a Friday's, I said the Boston marathon was a false flag and I thought the bartender was going to jump over the bar and kill me. I almost got beat up for going off on the Iraq war at a bar once. Enenewsers are just special. You have to be pretty fearlessly awakened to tolerate what we consume here on a daily basis. It is a horrifying reality and I don't blame people for not wanting to face it, but I also think that's why we're in this boat…I'm rambling. I think I have black mold/radiation brain degradation. I'm just a crazy hippy. I love everybody. Peace.

I don't hate anyone. A people and their government are two separate entities. Politicians and individuals can and have done terrible things. Political systems can be totalitarian. I especially loved reading Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky and Solzhenitsyn and Pasternak. I also loved the trilogy written about Russia by Tom Rob Smith.

I am descended from Russians (royalty, not Communists). I certainly don't hate myself.

I don't hate Stalin, but I do hate all the horrible things he did.

      • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar PraisingTruth

I love Russian music. My favorite composer is Rachmaninoff. I sang his Vocalise. And I used to be a pianist before I became disabled. I played 3 of his preludes. And I was learning to play his Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini which is my favorite piano piece of all time when I became disabled.

Thanks or-well. Reported, as you suggested.

I bailed long ago, largely because of the "anne issue" in its various forms.

Perhaps your efforts will save the site from itself – I hope so – you (and others) have been amazingly patient amid all the noise.

    • or-well

Hi aigeezer ! I hope you're well. I miss your logic and the challenge it presented, as well as missing many others.
I am often tempted to permanently bail.

Oh, please don't. Orwell. That would make me so sad.

        • or-well

Nice of you to say mm, but…this site had such potential…squandered, by lack of Moderation, and drowned by the work of social media influencers (agents), straight-up nutcases and those who can't tell the difference between bullshit and brilliance, probably through no fault but that of a failed educational system.
There have been many valuable links provided by commenters, but if one didn't save them oneself, how could they possibly be found here?
How many folks turn away when they see what these threads become most times?
How many commenters do you see here? It's less and less all the time.
Oh well. Everyone can be a propagandist on the internet and push whatever agenda and bullshit they want I guess.

    • m a x l i

aigeezer, that's a surprise! And the same old, familiar, pointy avatar… (I'm still using the same, too. Haha!) I remember you well, remember exactly why you chose to stay silent and hope to see your input more often, again. I often think about a few names (including yours) that disappeared long ago.

    • Cataclysmic Cataclysmic

Hi aigeezer!!! Good to see you! Seems there are many originals that lurk and read, but still here, or at least checking in from time to time 🙂 It is good to take a break too, such difficult material to manage as reality, then add in the personal stuff and it gets overwhelming quickly! Many happy thoughts and wishes to all of you!

  • irhologram

Well, I agree to agree and disagree. Lol. I really don't like the down and dirty, low minded, gutter talk here…worse…than I don't like the black and white thinking…if that makes sense. Lol. At least with the black and white thinking, I can agree or disagree, but with the mud slingers, I feel like I need a shower after reading some of this profane stuff.

And I'd much prefer a summary or one lifted sentence to an entire pasted article…YET many or even MOST others here post just as much OT…while supplying links ONLY which are just as big a hassle, because not knowing what's in them, it's like an intellectual/emotional grab bag…(and besides its lazy)…wasting my time opening topics I could not care less about…or I'm teased to e pest some nugget only to open some stupid cartoon that interrupts the flow of conversation.

So…ban Anne? Naa. But put her in moderation for excessive political and religious posts, yes. She is one of the best researchers here. Waaaaayyy too much bath water, not enough baby…but throw the baby out with the bath? Not in our best interest, IMHO.

  • obewanspeaks obewanspeaks

I stopped posting years ago everywhere when facebook took over control of all the commentary sections inside this country.

Moderation is just another word for suppression. Control of the herds is/has been paramount..

How is that working out for everybody and the planet's future..looked around lately?

  • irhologram

Obe. Absolutely, yes. But if I were to have to choose between Or-well's request to coalition-build an intolerance for Anne, leading to shunning, with the ultimate intent of banning…I'd have to choose moderation, would I not?

Is the moderation being discussed …more than the requirement to abide by the terms of the site? If so, please explain to me how…?

    • Moderation was discussed here many times, and suggested to Admin..

Even banning a troll here takes a LONG time and many complaints.

This is a community with a wide diversity of viewpoints, from one extreme to almost the other..

The only viewpoint NOT allowed to be expressed here (at least not for long) and that stirs up this site like a hornet's nest is the pro hormesis viewpoint, as well it should.

This site is almost like anarchy.. or democracy…

      It seems like complete chaos..

      Somehow, inside of the chaos is a beautiful thing;

      and freedom.

The price of freedom is diversity, and a bit of craziness, extreme viewpoints, and allowing people to pick/choose the pieces that they want to believe in, or not as the case may be.

Just 2 cents worth… toss it or pick it up..

  • Jebus Jebus

Moderation and control, for power, decays natural evolution.

It's about the environment. Life is supposed to adapt to it.

    Not change it…

  • irhologram

Jebus, but this isn't for Power, right? It's merely to enforce posted rules for participation on this site, right? And the issue is an either or…either ban her or ask her to stick to the rules, right?

Am I missing what the issue is that Or-Well raised? Or-well asked us to join an initiative to ban her, right? I am suggesting that if any action is necessary, sticking to the rules is the proper recourse.

How do you feel this "natural evolution" should go? Personally, I'm fine with the way things are. I don't suggest change at all. In fact, by joining this discussion, I'm merely attempting to deflect the idea of banning.

    • or-well

irhologram, I acknowledge and in fact appreciate your reasonableness.
      To be perfectly clear –
      I am not suggesting 'shunning'.
I want a permanent Administrative ban.
The person is who she/he is. I doubt a 'timeout' will change anything.
You may be right – in fact, no more than an Administrative warning may be all that is required.
I simply don't personally believe so.

I also acknowledge your, and whoever else's, opinion that things are fine the way they are.
Clearly, I don't share that opinion.

None of us have any 'power' over what the site owner does (at least I don't think so).
The persistent pro-nuke propagandist who keeps re-appearing eventually gets swatted, but why is IT allowed so much time?
      Are we all be 'played'?
It IS a possibility, you know.

However, absent any action by the Admin, I think it is safe to say things will remain as they are or deteriorate.

      • Jebus Jebus

        Are we all be 'played'?

On a larger scale than this site.

        This site.

Where else, with so much info, aggregated, not from this site, has a site, been this open to all, for so long?

With all that one has seen and read, in lies and truth, pertaining to Fukushima, and nuclear in general, from across the globe, there is more than enough information, to get the gist of what is transpiring, upon life and this planet…

      • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar PraisingTruth

I am definitely a she, not a he. I also outted my name and my dissertation. But for those who missed that information, I'm not listing my name again for people who are so hostile.

  • obewanspeaks obewanspeaks

Pretty sure most of the commenters here understand PT. She has some steadfast beliefs and has no problem pushing them onto others. Her ability to research the current Nuclear problem though far outweighs the political religious struggles she conveys and that seem to disrupt a few threads now and then.

Most people here are not influenced either way by such inputs. New people that arrive may only want to read the latest news headlines on the Largest Nuclear Industrial Accident to ever happen on this Earth and not necessarily want to comment on any of those same headlines.

Like my comments many probably take them with a grain of salt in the whether they are in the truth or not categories. Perception is all we can rely on when we read anything from anyone here. Personal perception of the events transpiring are how we adjust our own ability to comprehend the totality of the events and how they impact our personal lives and the actual world we live in.

Abstract thought is good and so is dissension/discussion concerning all/any topics/thoughts presented which only make the mind a better place to dwell.

All news concerning Nuclear Technology and Fukushima is bad news..all of it. There are no positives to be had and so we move forward with the understanding that good things are a fleeting purely based on mankind's own ability to create that which should not have ever been created.

But alas as for moderation I am only for it if there is foul degrading language used.

    • melting mermaid melting mermaid

But what if someone here has Tourettes syndrome when it comes to all things nuclear, like… me. I could never be a politician. • irhologram

I agree and respect that sentiment. BUT you might be surprised to find the chilling affect of mob rule here in this forum…on the evolution of ideas. Or-well was aiming for co census. That's why I became involved. Intimidation is a very effective mode of control.

  • Jebus Jebus

And evolution dictates that you never ponder what kind of bear, while it is chasing you…

  • irhologram

Maxli. I meant the exact opposite of how you interpreted my use of "mob" rule…rather than rule by…well, the RULES of the forum.

Mob rule happens here when one member decides he/she doesn't like the ideas or the writing style of another poster and attempts to get others to agree that those ideas should be ridiculed, and so… the targeted poster then is perceived as disliked…And as the smears, name calling, and character assassination continues, that person becomes through mob rule…unpopular… The longer this continues, the fewer of the type of posts that irked the original finger pointer…effectively censoring content of the blog… Ideas become stifled. There is no evolution of thought. THAT is what I mean by MOB RULE. Control of thought, and control of others through ganging up on and bullying another member.

    • bo bo

Funny you wrote mob rule, as I was just writing this post:

Just to be clear I only wrote a quick note above but that was not me just tritely following another poster's suggestion, caught up in some mob mentality. I was just unable to write much but when I saw or-well's post, however, immediately recognizing how much time ( possibly years ) & thought he'd put into stating that,  I just felt compelled to cast my quick support there – but my OWN opinion on this itself has been percolating over months and years as well.

Also- for me, it's not even about the OT, or even about the religious rants.
      It's just the vitriol.
I don't know how you moderate that.

      • bo bo

I've known plenty of good posters here who left here because of this.
There was an activist, clamsheller, who got driven away after a ridiculous thread where said poster accused her of being a drug dealer. Clamsheller was one of the few who were actually getting people to get involved with active action. It is very fascistic, against democracy, to 'ban' someone, but I am guessing or-well remembers, as I do, of these passive yet extremely aggresive behavior from this person that indeed have essentially 'banned' posters from here, contributing to discussions becoming less and less vibrant. Sure, you could say they always had a choice to stay. So it may be just my personal view.

        • Well spoken Bo. I have been disgusted many times when those accusations were made. How damn off base and snotty can that perpetual accuser get. 🙂 It's extremely dysfunctional and mean spirited. There's rarely a new thread that goes untouched by it so I suppose it will go on forever driving more considerate activists and curious new readers away.

I'm thankful for the patience of those who have remained.

          • bo bo

LC – I think it happened before u came around, but the thread with clamsheller was particularly ridiculous, vicious & uncalled for. I also noted then, that somebody who was actively engaged in political action was cornered and targeted.

I am going to be honest- there is a meme out there about ene:
            It's 'annenews' & 'enable-anne-news'
It's not criticism from pronuker shills.
            It's from our own.
This has turned into an inside joke.
or-well is offering a last ditch attempt to save the sinking ship here.
            That's how I view it.

                  • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar PraisingTruth

No I don't. The internet does archive everything. I don't read everything either.

When I spend hours trying to find a comment for whatever reason, usually because someone is attacking me or someone asks me to find something, then I do keep that record.

I have been attacked for over four years. It is usually the same people who have some kind of political agenda.

I am not a traitor to my country and I don't break the law. I do try to protect myself when people falsely accuse me. I've been falsely accused before with respect to clammshellernh, so after I spent many hours searching for the comments, I do have a file for several of her comments.

I find it very painful that people hate my country so much. I believe in pacifism and changing things through peaceful, law abiding education. My heroes, apart from Jesus, and Rev. Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Anne, you conveniently forget your attacks, don't you? I have had little use for you since my 2nd comment here in which I have the nerve to suggest that misfortune is a natural human teacher. I thought that was an obvious fact, until you and laid into me and by the time you both were done I was some self-flaggellating masochist. Just what background did you have regarding me that would have you do that? I tried a bit of interaction with you afterward, but quickly realized whatever you have of value can be had elsewhere and keep interaction to a minimum…Except when you so blatantly claim your innocence like you did above. Having been the victim of your practices, I feel need to speak.

Your 'keeping files' is not about information or challenging information, but the use of the pettiness you so often display. It's disrespectful and totally at odds with what you claim to believe, and damn if you don't use the same excuse as those to whom you object for keeping them and exhibit their same twisted needs. When you attempted to attack me by posting a link to an obscure and very old poem I used in a comment (not a post) on Indymedia, especially because you can't crawl out of your bigotry, you were obviously holding that in reserve for me, weren't you? I did a search of all the obvious keywords and nothing got me close. But then, by the time of that instance I had long ago known that you do such a thing.

Anne, you use the tools of the troll. It's as simple as that.

                    • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar PraisingTruth

Shaker1, I never attacked you. I did post a poem which I found by trying to Google different lines of the poem and found:
             and posted that.

I thought it was a very beautiful poem.

Many times I find a link by copying a few lines of what someone posted and pasting that into Google.

Nietzsche wrote some poems to Dionysius in Thus spake Zarathustra, but they are not anything like your poem.

I have very few files on people. I can't find where I replied to you by searching on Google.

Some of my files are intellectual links to answer the misinformation posted by pro-Nuke trolls like socref. It takes many, many hours to find those links and the trolls just keep coming back.

                    • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar PraisingTruth

also in The Birth of Tragedy out of Music:

“Originally educated as a philologist, Nietzsche discusses the history of the tragic form and introduces an intellectual dichotomy between the Dionysian and the Apollonian (very loosely: reality as disordered and undifferentiated by forms versus reality as ordered and differentiated by forms)….”

                  • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar PraisingTruth

I tried to ignore bo, but she kept repeating her accusation so then I accessed my file.

Maybe you have never seen people destroyed by illegal drugs, but I have seen people I love and as an educator I have seen young people who will never live normal lives because illegal drugs destroyed them forever. Every human life is precious.

          • Yes, it is a rough and tumble place here.. got to be able to take some knocks and bumps.. but that comes with the level of unmoderation here.

This forum is not for the faint of heart, or for those with thin skins, that is for sure; kind of like life.

    • or-well

irhologram, if you are accusing me of trying to institute mob rule you are way off base!
Likewise if you are accusing me of bullying!
It is not I but anne under various names that has made unsubstantiated and/or misleading accusations against others.
      Regular readers know this.
It is not I but anne who has used smear tactics and attempted character assassination against others.
Because I find this unacceptable, does that make ME the 'bad guy'?
How often does anne have to accuse someone of being someone else or accuse them of being pro-nuke or accuse them of being russian spies before you find it unacceptable?
It is not I who regularly and consistently posts offtopic.
It is not I who regularly posts religious spam.
If all that behaviour is OK with you, then that's your choice but do not accuse me of those things!

      • irhologram

It is a definition, Or-well. I am accusing no one of anything. Unfortunately, I have often been targeted here for posting other than ideas that have already been deemed " acceptable, " so in general terms, and throughout this I have been seeking in general, procedural terms, …in general terms, I can tell you it is disquieting to be "in censure." Yet. you sir, have come to my defense, and I am greatful.

I don't agree with you though that a membership can come against one of its constituents outside the rules…and to do so DOES give appearances that are not attractive when viewed merely objectively, without "elements of the case of proofs of wrongdoing," …which turn out to be not in the rules for "banning."

I wish to label you with nothing…but in reasonableness, when you contemplate this from a distance, in the hands of others who don't have your refinements…wouldn't these tactics be undesirable when guarding free speech? It Felt like it when directed at me several times. I am asking you my friend, whom I respect very much…doesn't ONE rule have to apply to all cases?

Yet I am trying to hear you. I think I hear you saying that Anne has accused more people more often, is more off topic, and is more offensive with religious spam than other accusers, OT posters, or profane list disrupters. I sincerely don't see this in the inane banter of day to day, and considering her research contributions, I can't agree with you. Love you, but don't agree.

          irhologram, thank you for responding.
This 2 dimensional space is a difficult medium to communicate in.
At least, I find it so.

Perhaps I'm too tired of what I see here.

I think people put 'free speech' on an all-inclusive pedestal it doesn't deserve.
I think there should be consequences for what I refer to in my post above at 7:54am.
If Admin chooses to do nothing, well, that's that.
If Admin were to apply a 'timeout', or even issue a warning, I would consider that at least an attempt to rein-in behaviour that I think has been degrading this site for some time and has worsened over time.
It isn't simply the OP (other person).
There's many examples of too much bathwater, not enough baby.

Yes, we can all select whose posts we read or ignore, but for anyone – regular or newcomer – to wade through post after post of offtopic info or opinion plus the regular full dose of "We're all gonna die!" is offputting and should not be necessary.

Anyway, thank you for your openness and persistence in pursuing communication.

          • m a x l i

You hit the nail on the head, or-well. I'm especially tired of that constant "We're all gonna die!"

If you look for it, we have someone here among us frequently posting mostly useless BS who is usually inserting "ELE" in upper case letters 2 or 3 times in every comment. This – the endless repetition – is a psychological operation with the intent to program readers brains on a subconscious level to get depressed, feel helpless and become passive.

      • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar PraisingTruth

I have never accused someone of being a Russian spy. It is Maxli who started talking about Russian spies and falsely accusing me:

It is really hard to conceive that any Russian spy would spend time writing on this blog. Surely that would be a waste of time and money.

    • bo bo

BTW- I know for a fact defected members essentially driven away have also clicked report in support of or-well this morning.. so I'm not sure how you count that vote.. but then, if you go by the vote numbers.. does that make it.. mob rule..?
Or- should it be run more like the U.N. maybe, instead of 'mob rule'..?

      • bo bo

And to further clarify- that last statement was made just to highlight the inherent illogic in your 'mob rule' statement ( as well as satire of the U.N. ) &
I'm not really aggressively pushing towards any decision at this point. If people choose 'evolution' fine, go for it. It just happens to be my personal opinion that 'evolution' probably means devolution here, and all I'm doing is expressing that.

        • bo bo

Oh- all above posts are directed at irhologram, not or-well.

        • irhologram

I regret having asked for Majority opinion. It really isnt relevant, just as you say. I had hoped to show that a lot of people are happy following the blog rules. In any case they are the rules, and I have to believe they are there for a reason.

          • obewanspeaks obewanspeaks

We all probably need to take a time out once in awhile..but a time out is a hell of lot better than having your head cut off or being burn't inside a cage or even being stoned to death because you happened to have your DNA scrambled by Nuclear Technologies and are now gay! 🙂

            • We Not They Finally

Coming from someone (yours truly) who has been slandered by PT as having an "agenda" of having Putin and the Russians rule the world [WTF??,] and discovering that I DON'T CARE (my "agenda" right at that moment was just to get a good night's sleep!,) I have to say that you are funny!!

          • bo bo

Yes. I am glad you agree with that aspect. It seems we both agree majority rule is not important. While you were simply trying to show how many people here are happy with things just the way they are, I was just trying to remind people how those who were unhappy with the situation already left long ago- and most of them left because of this one reason.

By the way I do appreciate your contributions here. When a poster expressed doubts about you being an agent (trying to derail) I left a quick note to him saying that that you were a 'real hologram'. I hope if you saw that comment the humor did not cause misunderstanding- it was meant to lighten the situation.
            I appreciate your response.

          • The price of not having an active moderator is people leaving.

This was predicted… and it happened.

However, new people are still showing up..

Traffic really dropped off a cliff back in Oct. of last year.

  • Gasser, are you indeed the creator of the Hitler parody on Fukushima and WIPP? If so you are a hero, gasser classic.

    • I want to know too, lol. I'm all for clever informative ways to engage people.

    • We Not They Finally

Wouldn't it have to be a German speaker with German actors?

    • Wyakin Wyakin

“…German…” Der Untergang, 2004. Regisseur Oliver Hirschbiegel. Ein klassiker…

First viewed this in Berlin in November 2004.

I have to admit, parody clever and engaging.

Some might see this as defacing art.

Hirschbiegel spoke positively about similar parodies in a 2010 interview with New York magazine, saying that many of them were funny and they were a fitting extension of the film's purpose:

"The point of the film was to kick these terrible people off the throne that made them demons, making them real and their actions into reality. I think it's only fair if now it's taken as part of our history, and used for whatever purposes people like.”

Trying to imagine such a dialogue between any contemporary world leader who supports nuclear industry, and their trusted circle, does not evoke the same sense of urgency facing the Third Reich.

      Radiation? Meh.

What makes this great in part, is at least the sense that someone in power, even if it is Adolf Hitler, would care about the wide biological consequences of nuclear.

Such irony, in light of the history leading up to his demise and the horrible social consequences of the Nazi regime…

  • nirakenna

In the wake of Fukushima, and the potential ongoing and future “mishaps” and disasters from all nuke plants, it is important to know how to protect yourself and your family. Radiation Protective Foods: How To Shield Yourself From Low-Level Radiation by Sara Shannon is the only book I have found on this topic with definitive information on foods and supplements. I found a link on or you can google it, but make sure to get the 2014 edition.
