“Dead animals litter California beaches… Alarming phenomenon” — “Graveyard of washed-up sea life” — “Influx of malnourished sea creatures” — Experts: We’re really starting to worry… The animals are starving to death… Covered in sores… Stunted growth… Weak immune systems (VIDEOS)

NBC L.A., Apr 19, 2016 (emphasis added): Officials are investigating why sick sea lions are washing up onshore… The Laguna Beach Pacific Marine Mammal Center has an overflow of sea lions… The reason for the influx of sea lions remains a disappearing cold water food source… Another unusual phenomenon they are seeing: Elephant and harbor seals are coming into the centers in addition to California sea lions, and that is not typical.

NBC L.A. transcript, Apr 19, 2016: “Now, an alarming number of sea lions are washing up along our local beaches… it is taking longer to rehabilitate these sick sea lions… Experts say [they are] taking longer to become healthier.”

Laguna Beach Independent, Apr 23, 2016: Most are malnourished and many are infected with parasites, [said Keith Matassa, Pacific Marine Mammal Center]… “The rehabbing process is slower this year because the sea lions are coming in older and sicker.”

Salon, Apr 21, 2016: Dead animals litter California beaches — California is in its third straight year of “unusual mortality” rates for sea lions. The dismal state was first declared in January of 2013 and death rates have increased each year since… It looks like 2016 will be worse… They are starving to death. The same goes for birds… California beaches are littered with dead sea lions and birds. Watch our video for more on this alarming phenomenon. [Video transcript: (Stephen Scheiblauer, Monterey Harbormaster:) “We’re seeing a greater mortality of sea lions… also some kinds of birds… We bury [sea lions]… dig a big trench and bury it.”]

Pepperdine University’s student newspaper (‘The Graphic‘), Mar 28, 2016: A walk on Point Dume’s beach [Malibu, California] recently resembles a graveyard of washed-up sea life. On the stretch of the Pacific Coast… dead sea lions, tuna crabs and crows littered on the sand, a defunctive and rotten smell permeating the sea air… [S]tranded sea lions have become a regular sight for those who frequent Point Dume, as beach-goers stretch their towels yards away from the rotting corpses. “This has been a coast-wide problem for the past four years,” Seasonal Assistant Marine Coordinator Colleen Weiler said.

KRON, Apr 11, 2016: Marine Mammal Center dealing with influx of malnourished sea creatures… Hundreds of elephant seals, harbor seals, and sea lions are [at the center]… Rescue crews are bringing them in daily because they simply don’t have enough to eat… Dr. Shawn Johnson is the lead veterinarian at the center and said the animals are starving

The Channels Newspaper, Apr 22, 2016: Rescued seals are brought [in] with seaborne diseases… causing bumps and blisters on the face, neck and flippers

Marin Independent Journal, Apr 10, 2016: Marine Mammal Center coping with relentness influx of ailing sea lions… “They are skin and bones, they are malnourished, they have secondary infections like pneumonia because their immune systems are suppressed,” said [Dr. Shawn Johnson]… the sea lions appear to be experiencing stunted growth… “These are the smallest pups we have seen in 41 years of study,” [NOAA’s Sharon Melin] said.

The Marine Mammal Center, Mar 29, 2016: This is the fourth year in a row that we’ve seen California sea lions in crisis… [This year] these animals are also unusually small… essentially fur-covered skeletons—they seem to be experiencing stunted growth… pup weights are the lowest ever documented… [T]he spike in sea lion strandings began before the current El Niño pattern took hold and even before the warm water “blob” began to form… “After four years of sea lions in crisis, the initial shock of seeing so many starving sea lions is over and now we’re really starting to worry about long-term impacts on the population as a whole,” says Dr. Shawn Johnson, Director of Veterinary Science at the Center.

  • Imagine that….plant food, CO2, actually is significantly greening the planet.

Factorial simulations with multiple global ecosystem models suggest that CO2 fertilization effects explain 70% of the observed greening trend, followed by nitrogen deposition (9%), climate change (8%) and land cover change (LCC) (4%). CO2 fertilization effects explain most of the greening trends in the tropics, whereas climate change resulted in greening of the high latitudes and the Tibetan Plateau.

Easy to remember numbers, for the average adult, taking 2000 mg of calcium daily (total from food and supplements) is below the max "tolerable dosage".

1000mg is the Recommended Daily allowance

Calcium help block Strontium from getting into the bone.

Potassium (including our beloved K40 varietal) blocks cesium from absorbing into muscle and heart.

Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking soda) protects by akalinizing the urine which protect kidneys from uranium deposition. I assume that it would also protect from plutonium as they are just 1 neutron off.

They say monitor urine pH hourly until pH is 8 to 9, continue for 3 days. pH test strips are easy to obtain and use, and cheap.

Also curious that cancer thrives in an acid environment

    • A "cancer denier" website claims that 30 grams of baking soda per day would be likely to "cause severe health problems"

After the problems I had with the (DE) I would recommend all products like this and including any baking soda to be heated to say 140 degree for at least 15 minutes prior to consumption to kill all potential bacteria that might be present in these products.

I would use an oven and a clean container to complete the process.

With the gasser project you can see he is heating the maple syrup and baking soda over a flame killing any potential bacteria present and then sealing this remedy in capsules.

30 grams is like 5 teaspoons and that does seem like quite a bit to consume in one day. I use to sprinkle baking soda and (DE) at times in my coffee, and but, since I have yet to heat these products properly in the oven, since my discovery, I have backed off all consumption of these two products.

The (DE) I purchased clearly stated "Food Grade" and clearly it was not food grade and was loaded with bacteria that should not have been in the product. I contacted the company and told them of my findings and gave them the advice for free to include a warning and proper heating procedures with all sales of their "Food Grade" (DE) products before animal consumption/usage.

Plenty of people and animals were surely getting sick or having health problems while not realizing the whys..

What effect does all that alkalzing have on the blood and pH of the whole body? The kidneys. I'm um, uncomfortable consuming it in high quantities. Because it can be hard on the kidneys and other organs which tolerate large variances in blood pH poorly.

          Just my two cents' worth.

funny that they link to a study showing effectiveness of bicarb in treating cancer

Note that Max Gerson was against sodium bicarb because he believed it depolarized the cells. He thought that increasing the cell membrane voltage differential was the way to increase health and treat cancer. Part of his protocol was to take a lot of potassium.

I would be cautious about taking a lot of sodium bicarbonate except as a specific therapy

Sounds gross, but may get a fecal implant from a private MD soon to re-boot my immune system. Costs big bucks & you have to lie on your side for five days afterward (what fun). But for someone with very damaged gut flora (all those antibiotics used to treat Lyme hammered me) it's a shot at possibly regaining some semblance of good, glowing health. Worth a shot when I can afford it.

He spent his entire career as a nuclear engineer working towards the abolition of nuclear power plants. Do you ever think the government would tell you ahead of time that the world is ending whether it is in 10 days or 10 months from now.
There would be an immediate break down of society if there is nothing to lose.

That is why the imminent death of the Pacific Ocean is not being covered by mass media. Even if it is abundantly clear and undeniable that the Ocean will no longer produce food (life) it will be glossed over. Though this is the beginning of the end, they try to ignore it as much as possible or run 'feel-good' pieces.

The bottom line is the 1950's think tanks that were mostly Harvard graduates dictated the policies that enriched the rich and enslaved the poor, created wars and police states to suite their own objectives, power. We all will drone our lives away for the Big Macs, BMWs and Hawaiian vacations thinking we were important and had a say when the opposite was true. When we get sick we will be impoverished. Our great American way is a scam and is as corrupt as Russia or China. Don't be fooled. Everybody has to look out for themselves. The government, your neighbors your so called friends are all in it for themselves when it comes down to life or death.
Our time is short, but government officials and mass media will just change the subject.

There seems to have been a logical response to the above massive evidence of a detrimental trophic cascade throughout the marine ecosystem. I'm reading tri-trophic cascade from some…

Evidence for a trophic cascade on rocky reefs following sea star mass mortality in British Columbia – April 26, 2016

Echinoderm population collapses, driven by disease outbreaks and climatic events, may be important drivers of population dynamics, ecological shifts and biodiversity. The northeast Pacific recently experienced a mass mortality of sea stars. In Howe Sound, British Columbia, the sunflower star Pycnopodia helianthoides—a previously abundant predator of bottom-dwelling invertebrates—began to show signs of a wasting syndrome in early September 2013, and dense aggregations disappeared from many sites in a matter of weeks. Here, we assess changes in subtidal community composition by comparing the abundance of fish, invertebrates and macroalgae at 20 sites in Howe Sound before and after the 2013 sea star mortality to evaluate evidence for a trophic cascade.

How about catastrophic multipart trophic cascade… 😐

It was absolutely on-topic. CERN and J-PARC, particle accelerators, caused the 9.0 earthquake that destroyed 14 nuclear reactors in Japan. I posted this article just as a link, and Code criticized it without foundation so no one would read it. aunavoz asked where the science was, and physics is not simple. The article I quoted included the concerns and proofs by several Nobel prize winners.

The reason I have to face slander from several non-scientific posters on this blog is because they don't want any governments or the nuclear industry to pay any reparations to the American soldiers who were injured and killed on the USS Reagan. And they don't want anyone in the nuclear industry to pay any reparations for destroying the Pacific and the land, air, and water around the world or for the billions who are ultimately going to face death and genetic damaging mutations. And they don't want anyone to lose their cushy well-paid jobs in the nuclear industry or the money from stocks in the nuclear industry.

Whenever I post anything scientific there is always a non-scientific backlash by those who are still working for a cover-up.

If it's sickness, is it neural or moral?
You'd be amusing if you weren't so obviously messed-up.

You just don't get it do you?
Even if you had never wallpapered before (and all who read here regularly know you do it often) that doesn't excuse your actions on this thread.

I'll accept no false accusations from YOU anne.
You will not get away with promoting the lie that nuclear science is off-topic in my opinion, when clearly it isn't and that is just another one of your vile lies.

Who is being abused by your wallpapering anne?
You employ the "opposite-speak" technique we've become familiar with from nukists rather consistently and rather too well, it seems to me.

Whatever substantiable or un-substantiable opinions and beliefs you have about CERN, until the article Admin posts is about CERN, your opinions and links related to it belong in the off-topic forum.

                • ISeePinkClouds

Yes. or-well. Ty. You think that you are going to "fix" Anne? You really are one dumb motherf*cker,or-well. Do I think I am going to fix you? No. All the Kings Horses and all the King' men couldn't fix you. You are a lost cause. You are a waste of my time.

BTW – I appreciate Anne introducing me to CERN, and a hell of a lot of other things. Her posts regarding CERN,or anything else,do not bother me one little bit,but if they do,I will produce my argument, and go on. Nuclear isn't personal.

This tit-for-tat running argument with Anne might be tolerable, except that you sink to the lowest common denominators of discourse…
personal attacks and straw arguments. You are behaving like a child.

But, go ahead or-well, when you are through fixing Anne, why don't you fix me,too? Then you fix every other person that shares their understanding, and points of view on this forum.

Ahh,yes,we have found your life's work…A People Fixer. Looks like you have your work cut out for you.

I could write a book from what Anne has taught me. What have you taught me, Mr. Fixit? What have you taught anybody?

You may think that Anne is the lowest common denominator in this forum. You certainly behave accordingly. No,Anne is not the lowest common denominator on this forum.

                  It is you or-well.

I say you are a fool.

Peace, or not, with you, doesn't matter.

                  • or-well

No, ISPC, I don't think anne can be "fixed".

Whether or not anne's CERN concerns are all or partly valid or not, they are not on topic on every thread that anne wishes to introduce them , nor is it necessary or desirable to wallpaper to the absurd extreme just witnessed
when a link and brief description will do.
If one wants to read they'll read, if not they won't no matter how much is copied and pasted.

By all means, read and study CERN to your heart's content and form your own opinions.

I said most of what I will ever have to say to you yesterday. I'll just add this; I really don't think you have seen and understood the BS that has come from anne, consistently, for several years now, and I don't mean simply absurdly improbable or impossible assertions, I mean her behavior towards other people.
Think whatever you what of me, I don't care.
I know bullshit and stupid when I see it.

@ISPC, (before you write your book,) please tell me one example of something that Anne taught you. I'm just curious.

                  Scientific information is never wallpapering.

The last time I remember specifically being accused of wallpapering was when I posted a lot of quotations from Zimmerman's book on the art of deception of the nuclearist cult. How the nucleoapes distort scientific facts to wind up saying only 56 people died from Chernobyl, or how can they possibly say that higher background radiation is hormetic.

The ways of deception are extremely important, hardly wallpaper except for the nuclear industry who wants to keep on getting their government welfare checks for killing off everyone. Deceive everyone so they keep paying for their own very painful deaths.

Learn to embrace science. It may save your life.

                  “…Whistle-blowers Ignored
“Prior the March 11th Fukushima meltdown, numerous whistle-blowers who publicly spoke-out about the danger of Japan’s nuclear power plants were ignored and/or fired.
“Thirty five years ago, Dale G. Bridenbaugh and two of his colleagues at General Electric, which designed the Fukushima reactors, resigned from their jobs after becoming convinced that the nuclear reactor design for the Mark 1 was flawed and could lead to a devastating accident.
“Questions persisted for decades about the ability of the Mark 1 to handle the immense pressures that would result if the reactor lost cooling power, and today that design is being put to the ultimate test in Japan. Five of the six reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi plant, which has been wracked since Friday’s earthquake with explosions and radiation leaks, are Mark 1’s.
“Bridenbaugh said that “the problems we identified in 1975 were that, in doing the design of the containment, they did not take into account the dynamic loads that could be experienced with a loss of coolant . . . The impact loads the containment would receive by this very rapid release of energy could tear the containment apart and create an uncontrolled release.”
“Likewise, in 1998, Kei Sugaoka, a Japanese-American senior field engineer who worked for General Electric in the United States from 1980 until being dismissed in 1998 for whistle-blowing there, alerted Japanese nuclear regulators to a 1989 reactor inspection problem he claimed…

Code wasn't even involved unless it was under a different identity. You guys set me up all the time. With HHHD and aunavoz.

And still it was science and it was on topic because it explains one of the major factors of all the dead marine animals in the Pacific. The radiation is coming from Fukushima and other nuclear waste that is in the Pacific Ocean. And all the fallout over the Pacific Ocean from nuclear testing since the 1930s.

You want to claim that CERN is not a cause of the 9.0 earthquake, but both J-PARC and CERN where going full blast when the 9.0 earthquake occurred, and were a major factor (not the only factor) for the earthquake.

It’s Not Just Cancer! Radiation, Genomic Instability and Heritable Genetic Damage

Those who fear the effects of radiation always focus on cancer. But the most frightening and serious consequences of radiation are genetic.

Cancer is just one small bleak reflection, a flash of cold light from a facet of the iceberg of genetic damage to life on Earth constructed from human folly, power-lust and stupidity.

Cancer is a genetic disease expressed at the cellular level. But genetic effects are transmitted across the generations.

It was Herman Joseph Muller, an American scientist, who discovered the most serious effects of ionizing radiation – hereditary defects in the descendants of exposed parents – in the 1920s.

It is springtime once again in the Rockies, a most beautiful time of year, usually. The budding trees made it through some very heavy snows without losing their buds that had just begun to flower. Now so many trees are heavy with the blooms. This is the beautiful part. But, I have yet to see or hear a single bee among all of the blossoms.

As far as I can tell the bees have disappeared.

    Updated April 27, 2016 12:37 p.m. ET
FRANKFURT—German utility shares rose sharply after a commission proposed the government take broader responsibilities for nuclear power plant waste, capping power utilities’ liabilities.

The commission, tasked with finding a model to finance the country’s nuclear exit, recommended that companies contribute a total of €23.3 billion ($26.3 billion) to a public fund to be managed by the state. Thereafter, the state fund would manage all aspects of interim and end-storage for waste, including locating, building and equipping storage sites as well as transferring waste from interim facilities to a final destination.

The proposal, if accepted by the government, would offer some relief to nuclear operators. In autumn, Germany’s cabinet drafted legislation to ensure parent companies of nuclear operators remained liable indefinitely for all costs, …

Battelle Memorial Institute, the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and the U.S. Department of Energy are hosting an informational meeting about the Deep Borehole Field Test in Tulare tonight. I’m planning to attend their roadshow at the Spink County Fairgrounds 4-H building in Redfield tomorrow night starting at 6 p.m.

To prep us civilians with information and arguments against this proposed test of a method to dispose of nuclear waste in 5,000-meter-deep holes, anti-nuclear activist Nancy Foust has created a new website, NoNukesSD.org. Like friend of blog Donald Pay, who first alerted the public to this project, Foust contends that the borehole test project is a precursor to a full-scale national nuclear waste dump in South Dakota. Battelle has stated proximity to the Dakota Aquifer excludes Spink County from consideration as a nuclear waste site, but suspicion abounds.

I’ll ask the experts at tomorrow night’s meeting to confirm their intentions for our good ground. Readers, if you have questions, come to Redfield and ask them tomorrow night… or submit them in the comment section below!

      from 2012:

… The New York Times has dubbed the facility Finland’s 100,000-year plan to banish its nuclear waste. The headline refers to an expansive system of underground tunnels scheduled to be sealed for 100,000 years by the year 2100, which is how long nuclear waste remains hazardous. Finnish and Swedish nuclear authorities are collaborating on the project, and Sweden is planning a similar facility, but has not begun the actual construction of it.

No person working on the facility today will live to see it completed, states the film’s website.

“When it is done it will corkscrew three miles in and 1,600 feet down into crystalline gneiss bedrock that has been the foundation of Finland for 1.8 billion years,” explains the New York Times.

The site is to last as long as the pyramids to date, meaning the “builders of the site have to take into account the next ice age, when the weight of two miles of ice on top of Finland will be added to the stress on the buried waste containers, copper canisters two inches thick.”

The paper questions the implications of obligating 3,000 future generations to care for the poisonous waste of their ancestors. …

Approximately 250,000 tons of irradiated graphite are accumulated in the world, including ~ 60,000 tons in Russia. Due to the specificity of irradiated graphite, the treatment of this type of radioactive waste has not been determined yet. …

    Another important interview

Lonnie Clark does a follow-up interview with Donna Gilmore of http://www.sanonofresafety.org on nuclear waste

    Lonnie says this about Donna:

“She really is a great role model for all of us…she has made a dramatic change in how the San Onofre shutdown is happening and the issues that are coming to the forefront. Because of Donna 's efforts, because of Donna's research, the Department of Energy, the Coastal Commission in California, they are all slowing the train down and doing things a little bit differently because Donna has done her homework and is diligent in her attitude.”

    Donna says:

"This is a profit making enterprise. There's a lot of money in nuclear. Every phase of nuclear people make money. That's what it's all about. And the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, who is supposed to be protecting our safety, they have been captured by the nuclear industry. The 5 commissioners at the top are appointed by the President but they have to be confirmed by the senate and what you end up with is a lot of 4 to 1 votes against safety and for profit."

    • from a distance from a distance

      Donna also says:

“The Department of Energy are doing a horrible job of managing the waste.”

“other countries use 10 to 20-inch thick metal and they have the ability to monitor prior to any releases happening so they can mitigate any potential problems”

“the United States is doing a terrible job of managing the waste”

“there are about 2,000 canisters” in the U.S. “each holding a Chernobyl's worth of cesium”

most of the canisters “are only ½ thick”

      “they are subject to cracking”

“once a crack starts in one of these canisters it will continue to grow on its own until we have a radiation release”

“the NRC admits they can't inspect the canisters to know if they're cracking”

“the manufacture of the canisters admits you can't repair them even if you can find the crack”
