Another 20 Navy Sailors: USS Ronald Reagan crew with thyroid cancers, leukemia, brain tumors, bleeding, blindness after Fukushima disaster — Young kids developing problems — Gov’t and Tepco involved in major conspiracy (AUDIO)

Nuclear Hotseat #129, Dec. 10, 2013:

At 27:00 in

Charles Bonner, attorney representing sailors from the USS Ronald Reagan: They’re not only going to the rescue by jumping into the water and rescuing people out of the water, but they were drinking desalinated sea water, bathing in it, until finally the captain of the USS Ronald Reagan alarmed people that they were encountering high levels of radiation. As a result of this exposure, the 51 sailors that we represent right now have come down with a host of medical problems, including cancers and leukemias, all kinds of gynecological problems […]  people who are going blind, pilots who had perfect eyesight but now have tumors on the brain. These service men and women are young people 21, 22, 23 years old and no one in their family had ever (inaudible) any of these kinds of illnesses before.

At 33:00

Bonner: These sailors had none of these kind of medical problems, now they have back pains, memory loss, severe anxiety. They have testicular cancer, they have thyroid cancers, they have leukemias, they have a host of problems, rectal and gynecological bleeding, a host of problems that they did not have before […] And it’s only been 3 years since they went in. […] The Japanese government is in a major conspiracy with Tepco to hide and conceal the true facts.

At 34:30 in

Bonner: We’ll be adding approximately 20 sailors, bringing the total number in the lawsuit to 70 to 75.

At 47:30 in

Bonner: 21 and 22 year-olds who are just beginning to start their lives, start their families, and many have little children and now they’re sick. They are going constantly to the doctors, their children are sick — we even have small children as some of our plaintiffs, because they too have developed problems.

And to think… they are the canaries in our global coal mine.

Lately I don't even try to educate my friends anymore since they have all pretty much shrug their shoulders earlier and told me 'even if what you say is true, what can you do ?' I maintain this attitude – 'If you ever want to talk about it, I'm here and tell you about it.' But I'm silent in the meantime. So when a friend of mine brought this up in conversation, it was purely in the context of 'great stock market insider tip'

Thyroid cancer occurs one in a million in kids, almost unheard of in adults. Navy has a lot of explaining to do.

I hope we never find out that the carrier was sent, seemingly stupidly, into the plume coming out of the plant, offshore, as some kind of medical experiment on the crew….you know….like the US military machine has done several times to its own people in the past, making them part of the experiment of blowing off the bombs.

Is this REALLY why they were sent on this "humanitarian mission" into a horrible, well-known, Harms Way?

A Vietnam vet, I do everything I can to keep our kids out of the American Israeli military machine…..Here's another good reason they should all say NO!

  • PurpleRain PurpleRain

Unreal. I feel so badly for these sailors. They went into the service with the best intentions and highest ideals….(I did too when I was 17 years old), but …none of them deserved this. They should be on every news outlet and TV station world-wide telling their story!~~

    • rakingmuck

These sailors deserve a better lawyer! I have talked to this guy a lot. Very strong case. Hope the sailors demand additional strength to team or they might not win which would be tragic.

    • charlie3

The lawyer should be able to get media attention with this.

    • deedles deedles

Support the troops. Haha. That's only to get them to join up. What happens to them as a result of their 'service'…. feh.

    • Fred

I joined at 18 in 1964 only two hours before my draft notice showed up to send me to the Social Security Baby Boom killing fields of Vietnam. I hid in the Navy for 7 years as far away from war as I could get. The military machine President Eisenhower warned us about when he left office is now a huge monster controlled by Zionists that is consuming our country. All that flag waving no longer impresses me. It's not about America and hasn't been since 1946.

      • AllenH AllenH (Scary, but not alarming !?)

Its amazing that the youth see what happens to the vets. Yet they still go sign up to the killing machine. Do they think they going to be treated any differently when/if they return. Never mind the mental condition they will have as well.

    • pnacistreason

Unfortunately, anyone who joins the "U.S. military" deserves what they get. The "U.S. military" is a criminal organization that has nothing to do with protecting the U.S. and/or legitimate U.S. interests, and it's been that way for a long time.

Years ago, ignorance may have been a valid excuse, but the internet has taken that excuse away. Anyone considering becoming an instrumentality of death and destruction, has, at the least, a moral duty to do a little research to find out exactly what it is they're getting into. And with a robust historical record of "U.S. government" treachery available at their finger tips, the idea that people are joining with the "best intentions" and "highest ideals" is hard to accept.

  • HoTaters HoTaters

It is shameful. Most young people in the armed forces just want to do the right thing. It is disgusting to see them abused in this manner. The ones on the USS Ronald Reagan are being abused, Gulf War I and II vets, ditto, and so on.

  • KiloCharley KiloCharley

And those surprised by this outcome are who? No-one! The human radiation experiments continue… to this day. 50 years ago they knew even 'low level' radiation was mutating/deforming life forms, yes, human life forms! You know, human babies!!!
This is not news, it is a documented fact of nuclear fallout. This is the result. 'They' already know that. 'They' just won't admit how horrific this shit is.
I was starting to ramble, so I deleted the rest of this rant…

Remember the Atomic bomb tests on the Marshall Islands? Lots of video and documentation on this event. They are still facing illness, loss of children/deformed babies, deaths…and much more. Documentation shows the studies, and the testing as if they were guinea pigs in a laboratory. Ditto for the soldiers on the US Ronald Reagan. President Reagan would have been horrified, but not THIS administration. Wonder if this case will ever get to a real court of law????

Those old betwitted Geezers who let industrial 'persons' armed with phalanxes of liars and Crassus-level fortunes run rampant over the rights of actual living and breathing persons, individuals who have something to lose … like … like … like their lives, their children and spouses, their homes and farms and their schools and churches …

        No; sadly … not very likely; not in our lifetimes;

Those be-robed imbeciles who smile when General Electric-designed, radioactive poison factories spew their toxic guts into the air and water of a tiny planet?

"just another standard standard-rate industrial accident, People! Get a grip!!! Move along! There is nothing here for you to see!" (and take no notice that these reactors were cheaply designed and built precisely because they were granted these waivers from any meaningful liability damage awards)

yeah! Now there's some lawyerin' for you, jec. A real court of law, HAH! That would be the gas chamber, right? Or maybe the circular firing squad we have now?? Or maybe a ruined biosphere, with corpses littering the landscape and the floor of the ocean??

Would not that, finally, be a "real court" of (natural)…

And these were the servicepeople whose medical records they shut down? The U.S. Navy should be shamed, humiliated, and tongue-lashed on every network in the world. This is just wholesale callous murder, ongoing and with unspeakable suffering.

They don't want America to see the face of radiation? Let no American NOT see this face of radiation!

  • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar anne

It isn't just TEPCO and the government keeping the secrets of the radiological disaster. It is the whole nuclear industry and the governments of every country that has nuclear energy or weapons. They are hiding in deceit and darkness. When you think of these service men and women willingly and gladly helping out those in need, and the nuclear industry knew at the time that these young people were having their lives destroyed, it is extremely sad. I know from the blogs written at the time that the nuclear industry knew exactly how horrible this catastrophe is and that all the people harmed by all the lethal levels of radiation would have these horrible health problems as soon as 3 years after the disaster and even earlier. As horrible as the disaster is, the coverup is even more inhumane. It is mass murder and genocide on a scale that wasn't possible before the splitting of the atom.

    • nedlifromvermont

this is the naked truth of uranium fission … the dangers thereof and the idiotic risks therewith were obvious to the real "scientists" in the room … with names like Einstein, Szillard, Oppenheimer etc." … but a little known General Leslie Groves, who operated in concert with more shadowy characters from Wall Street's elite (Lewis Strauss) and various boardroom tyrants at places like Standard Oil and General Electric made a "management decision" to overrule the valid concerns of the humanitarian scientists involved in developing the science behind this technology …

and this situation persisted through the character assassination days of John Gofman, the cover up at TMI, led by none other than Lake Barrett (then an NRC staffer), all the way to Japan's Yakuza-dominated "nuclear village"

      Oh! What a world … what a world …

      • Socrates

Being an Alpha male means having power and money. Nukes were the ticket. None of them cared about safety for damages that would occur many years later. Hard to prove what caused a birth defect or cancer.

Some scientists believe that any species smart enough to split the atom will do itself in. Wisdom is lacking. The emotional IQ (EQ) is too remote to overcome greed and the lust for world domination.

We are a failed species. Next!

If you read history, there were endless wars with small weapons. Fire provided the energy. Now we have nuclear weapons and nuclear power to boil water. To me, it is anthropology. Man's dark nature on steroids through technology. Evil amplified. Forget the politics they spout.

        • Fred

I've always thought the reason we've never been contacted by people of other worlds is that life on any planet that spawns it evolves until the most intelligent species that floats to the top evolves to create the technology of its own total destruction. We are on the frontier of that technology and cannot stop the evolutionary train we cannot control. Ever notice those in control of any society of humans is always the most destructive group with its hands on those destructive controls? After the inevitable self-destruction, with no outside forces overpowering this natural progression of course, some small species or other rises up to cause this evolution to repeat itself. Until now, the self-destructive technologies were not strong enough to cause more than a local collapse, like the fall of Rome or Germany, and the technologists survived to continue the research, like Oppenheimer or Von Braun. The cycle was not powerful enough to complete and the propaganda machinery not fully in control of enough sheeple (religion, Goebbles, Faux News), but that has been corrected…..

The meltdowns were obvious from the first explosions.

    • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar anne

I saw on a blog right after it happened a video of Unit #1 exploding that shows a great flame worse than the videos on youtube, and a nuclear expert said that it was a nuclear detonation, not a hydrogen explosion. I posted that video on, but I can't find it anymore.

And I saw a nuclear expert on TV who said that using seawater was a Hail Mary pass. And the look on his face said it all. Anderson Cooper went over there to cover the event and he left very quickly.

The only reason Unit#2 still has a building it because they cut a great hole in the roof to let out the radioactive noble gases.

      • razzz razzz

Yeah, if you watch the standard Youtube video of Unit 1 blowing up, you can see a small brownish or dark cloud rise up for a moment in the center amongst the white clouds. Always thought that more was going on there than a hydrogen and/or steam explosion. Just not as big as a reaction as Unit 3 had when it blew up.

If I remember correctly, the USS Reagan and its support ships for the relief efforts arrived after Unit 1 blew up but before Unit 3 blew. Nobody bothered to tell them Unit 3 blew and where flying and sailing around it, in it, on it and through the fresh fallout.

The perfect crime if you wait 500,000 years, no will know what happened. I bet some of the redacted reports of Congressional hearings concerned the USS Reagan. Like Congress is complicit because the little people can't handle the truth but are allowed to suffer the affects.

        • dka

the propaganda back then was to tell everyone that the explosions were hydrogen explosions caused by tepco to vent the reactors.
This was just plain lies (and criminal).
I am so happy I left a few hours before these explosions.

I pray for these marines and their family.

      • m a x l i

@anne, I assume you meant to say: "…cut a great hole in the roof to let out the hydrogen." Otherwise please explain.

        • Sally Sally

What she meant was that it was a noble thing to do to cut that hole to let the H2 out. She probably got that from Bonner, who is the Orly Taitz of Fuku — not really all there, IYKWIM.

So has Bonner sued the USN yet, or is he still letting it all ride on his delusional suit against Japan?

          • flatsville

Sally, A suit filed by Bonner on behalf of his Navy clients against JapGov will likely be unsuccessful…but, that isn't the point, now is it? I'm certain Atty. Bonner has a srategy…and PR plays a part…don't you think?

And speaking of suits, I wonder if obewan has found that one good atty who can shut down NPPs globally?

          • Sally Sally

Well, with the statute of limitations at 2-3 yrs in most places for personal injury suits, he'd better hurry. I've got an idea there's a huge immunity hurdle he has to get over if he's going to sue the Gipper.

An atty with enough power to shut down NPPs globally, now there's the one thought that's scarier than global NPPs.

  • mairs mairs

There's a video taken by a crewmember of them below decks while a siren goes off above, as they sail through a radiation cloud. They're laughing and joking, but concerned. Makes me want to cry.

    • Bones Bones

That is exactly how they are supposed to act apparently. My bud laughs, is within Japan where me personally would have run that day back home, but he can't leave and won't talk about it anymore. He's a real smart dude, and we used to talk about it. Now, I get a nervous laugh. You know you are f'd sometimes. All I think is that this story needs to get out and out often. 9/11 responders finally got their due after over a decade of work and deaths from their disease they wanted treated and these Vets deserve the same. America needs to know about radioactive service members and just how long this has been going on. This story would enrage any red-blooded American. Nationalism out, but I care for my "clan" so to speak. I need to find out more. This is the story to cement Fukushima into American's minds. The suffering I cannot imagine, but share that with us. Everyone needs to be shown just how HORRIBLE these death plants are! Like, yo, here's a picture it's really fucking horrible and that bomb factory next to your house WILL do it to you some day unless you die first or it gets decommissioned first. Once everyone gets it, that ball won't stop rollin'. I know it's grotesque to say they should show pictures of the FUKUSHIMA CAUSED diseases, yea radionuclides ingested, but you would NEVER forget it. Everyone knows Chernobyl babies, not really all, but in America it would be easier for most to relate to an American than foreigner. Sounds harsh, but it's…

  • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar anne

The sad thing about the Gulf War is that not only do these service men and women have terrible health problems, but their children do also. Use of DU and uranium weapons and armament is extremely inhumane and a shame that the countries using them will never live down.

    • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar anne

And all the countries building new nuclear power plants will share that shame and guilt of destroying their own country.

    • Sally Sally

@anne The sad thing about the Gulf War . . .

Well, in my mind the sad thing is that an idiot president elected by idiot Americans and led by idiot neocons went into Iraq and killed 500,000 Iraq men, women, and children in order to get to their oil. Next to that, a few thousand US mercenary kia/wia's hardly registers on the sadness scale.

  • Sol Man

My very best thoughts to all of the service men and women that are in any way affected. Betrayed is the word.
It is on my mind so let me put it down here. The fraud is real, therefore the debt is not.

  • Alpha1

We must decide how to treat this and move very fast together to find an answer to the deactivation of radiation world wide before it is too late, I fear it may already be, however if we strive to stand united we shall not fall. I thank everyone that comes and has the nads to write and question, that is the first part of education and understanding. We have all been lied to from day one and it gets deeper every day. I thank the men and women in service and reach out to them in prayer. I would ask more to come forward and the this be considered an act of war against the USA and the mother Earth. Time to stand together to fight this darkness and insanity.

To those men women and children if there was anything we could do to ease your suffering we would do it, it is the governments and the lies that need to stop. We thank you for standing United to make a voice, something the rest of our population should do immediately and not wait till our children and ourselves are dying!!!!

So for whatever it is worth God Bless you and keep you, may all that has happened be a reflection on our government and the true nature of the darkness they are committing on the people of the USA and the world..The hardship is just about to come!!!

Someone my spouse knows is a parent of one of the sailors that were on the Reagan when it was exposed to radiation off the coast of Japan. When the ship came back it stopped in Hawaii and picked up family members of the sailors and let them say on board while they sailed back to the mainland. The parent my spouse knows was one of the family members on board. My spouse told the parent about the radiation concerns but they didn't believe the Navy would let them all be on the ship if it wasn't safe. Interestingly the parent mentioned how the Captain and others don't wear dosimeters on their nuclear powered ship because they are so confident about its operation. It seems to me that those in charge had a cavalier attitude regarding radiation.

    • Phil Shiffley Phil Shiffley

So I'm confused. Are the parents claiming their child's shipmates are making up the complaints discussed in the lawsuit? You'll have to keep us apprised of when their feelings on the matter begin to change and what pushes them over the edge.

      • jec jec

NO Paul. The person "told the parent about the radiation concerns but they didn't believe the Navy would let them all be on the ship if it wasn't safe" and that the captain and some other crew did not wear dosimeters because their NUCLEAR powered vessel was so safe. Just means no one was taking the contamination seriously, and visitors/children to the vessel were exposed to radiation from Japan while onboard. The US Navy thinks the nuclear engine on the vessel is safe. Sadly, Fukushima's Nuclear Plant..was NOT. What is chilling..if the US Navy was aware of contamination and for POLITICAL reasons allowed the family members to be on the vessel anyway!! These facts should come out in the lawsuit, if it ever gets to be in court. I am worried it will be dropped for some drummed up charge (US national security) like Japan's Secret Act.

Notice the self-contained breathing equipment on the decon team. This very picture was taken INSIDE the plume of Fuku's radiation….

All part of the medical experiment, imho.

          • Pete

They brought into dock in bremerton for about a year. During that time they took tons of irradiated scrap off the Reagan and moved it by train to Hanford. Im pretty sure this is illegal under US law, and it means they were transporting trainloads of it thru populated areas.

Then once it left Bremerton after a year or so it immediately went to Newport News, the only shipyard in america qualified to install/repair nuclear reactors for more repairs, Im sure that a good sign.

Seems like it got out of Newport News but I stopped paying attention once it left Washington, I have too many other things Im watching here to worry about.

Good luck and best wishes to the sailors, shitty situation and I think that Japan will claim some sovereign law that means they cant be sued, but at least it will bring more attention.

The major water is coming, so we'll see what rad levels do then, but Im sure we'll be fine, I mean the gubmint would tell us if we were in danger right?

I think the Navy had the soldiers all sign some sort of release so they cannot sue the US Navy that is what the lawsuit is against Japan. The US Secretary of Energy just recently went to Japan to get the Japanese government to ratify the convention on supplementary compensation for nuclear damage. This will likely impact the sailors ability to sue Japan and the amount they can sue for. How nice of the US government to help Japan out and screw our military servicemen and women.

Play our Presidents speech from 2011 broadcast it all over the fucking nation. in Simi Valley, California. The Santa Susana reactor MELT down fucked my family for forever. My 3 brothers died as teenagers, my 6 sisters developed many problems from MS to cancer. My mother and father died of cancer as well as 2 other infints before me. my 2 Daughters had spines shaped like a (S), my son at birth had infection then later seizures. I was still in my mother then born at St. Johns in Santa Monica California on October 14, 1959 while these people were removing burnt fuel rods. Today my doctor has found soft bone tissue on my spine and to mention my learning disabilities. It gets all of us at any time. After all these years pondering what was fucking wrong with us and then researching till I can have a difinitive answer and now Fukushima radiating me/US in 2011 and beyond and now this ! they say you can't see, feel, hear, touch, smell isotopes there full of shit how have you felt since 2011. Bozzy, I am sorry to hear of your health problems. I applaud your efforts to discover the truth about whar caused them.

I met a woman a few years ago who was a Hanford down winder. She had cancer and until she spoke with me had no idea thr site was the likely cause if her illness and the illnesses afflicting her family.

Flats the entire world is being maimed by this Nuclear Technology and all this has happened in earnest since 1945.

This Nuclear crap should have been shut down in 1946! Where have all the lawyers been? 🙂

        • flatsville

          >>>Where have all the lawyers been?<<<

Probably waiting for you to call.

Did you call Inl't Atty Frances Boyle or all you still stalling?

It's been a couple of days since I "coughed-up" the number to you yet again.

          So, what's the hold up?

          • obewanspeaks obewanspeaks

Post the number again and what did he say when you called him? You did call him.. right?

            • Socrates

You need to.stop saying that "No lawyer has tried to sue the nuclear industry."

Do you really believe that the nation's money – grubbing, ambulance-chasing lawyers have never even considered suing?

Gerry Spence sued in the Karen Silkwood case. Kerr-McGee. The problem is various federal statutes that limit damages. The nuclear compensation Act pre – empt the field and so does the Price – Anderson Act.

After the Supreme Court set aside the 10 billion in punitive damages in the Exxon – Valdez case by reducing it to one-billion, the costs ate up the award. HUGE TEAM OF LAWYERS WORKED FOR 20 YEARS. They will not take the nuclear cases.

I have an idea but I cannot share at the moment.

              • Socrates

If you are interested in legal remedies and environmental law, three years in law school is the place to start. At least you will see the issues and become familiar the laws that prevent losses from being shifted back to the nuclear industry.

Lawyers will sue their own mother if it can be done. A dream team of volunteer lawyers will not change legislation granting legal immunities to defense – connected operators of nuclear power utilities.

What we need is lobbyists and newly-elected Senators and Congressfolks. Only they can change the laws and Treaties.

                • obewanspeaks obewanspeaks

The bottom line would be correct and lawyers should lead the way…
"What we need is lobbyists and newly-elected Senators and Congressfolks. Only they can change the laws and Treaties."

Your needed proof is in the headline and for these health conditions to show up this quickly is the "icing needed on the cake" and all the other people on that were on that ship will have the exact same fate, varied cancers and diseases from the radiation contamination received, before they die… 🙁

They all just need to be patient for what still comith their way… 🙁

Not all of us are skanks. I was expelled from UCLA Law School specifically because I was disabled (bum leg and walked with a brace and cane). At the time it was not illegal to discriminate based on disability. I went elsewhere and was a civil rights atty for many many years. I never got rich and I did make deep changes in how the law works, specifically for the right of people with disabilities to enter college, have sign language interpreters in classes, note takers if students need them, and a number of other things (anyone you know use disabled parking spaces?) … just saying I changed things for the good even though I was an atty. And now I get to be old and sick and watch my life work be irrelevant because we are all going to die of radiation. There are good attys who have fought against wall street, tobacco, big pharma and the war machine for their entire lives.

                  • obewanspeaks obewanspeaks

                    Never called anyone a shank.

Glad you had some success, which has now been taken to the extreme/way over board in the disability arena, but like you stated the reason for these increasing disabilities seems to be right in front of our eyes.

                    Its called..Nuclear Radiation Contamination! 🙁

Disabled birds like to just tilt their heads back and die.. 🙁

Thank you for your work as a disability advocate lawyer, Ana. I know so many people who have benefitted from that work…and so many people still in that struggle.

You mean to tell me that I can't use a cell phone in my car as the driver and for some reason it's Ok for the Nuclear Industry to have Power Plants operate while spewing radiation contamination all over the face of the Earth?

Group I don't know what to tell you lawyers, but your industry is not performing at its finest.. 🙁

This is about international and governmental law and you people need to directly to the bodies in charge of making such laws and that is not a court but a governing body.

obewan Google Illinois College of Law Frances Boyle. I am tired of posting the number repeatedly…and it has not been "scrubbed."

              I did not call.

It is YOUR idea that there is one Int't Atty who can shut down all NPPs.

              Why are you stalling?

              • obewanspeaks obewanspeaks

Why didn't you call? You have the time to post here and you had the number in your possession and at least you could have invited him to this forum and/or at least you could have asked him to purchase some LED light bulbs. 🙂

                • flatsville

obewan, Again, it was YOUR idea that one Int'l Atty could close all the NPPs, NOT mine.

                  So, pound that dial pad.

Stop losing the number…stop stalling…or expecting others to make your grandiose, magical-thinking ideas into reality.

Time for you to pick up the phone and put up or…whatever.

        • obewanspeaks obewanspeaks

At least they are getting the general populations ready/alerting them for/to their upcoming cancers and diseases from all the spewing Radiation Contamination now spreading all over the globe! 🙁

Based on scientific calculations we will have another Nuclear Plant Meltdown in 4 years or in 2018… 🙁

Are we all ready for the next meltdown? Have you told your kids? Have you discussed their futures? Have you purchased your/their health care? Do you know where the Nuclear Power plants are located? Have you made your and your kids bucket list? Have you called your congressman? 🙂

And if you do a google/news search on this story, you get almost zero results for anything in the past month. It amazes me how much no one gives a shit about this event and the consequences. Most people will go to their graves not understanding what killed them. I don't think ignorance is bliss in this case.

On youtube there have been numerous accounts of view numbers being reset to lower numbers from what people had witnessed at an earlier point in time. I always assumed google was just burying search results w/software algorithims. I think you can tell by responses to RT or the earlier Washington Post article before all the links started disappearing that there are people following the story.

    • ManWithThePlan ManWithThePlan

Unfortunately, this seems to be the norm for now; it's just that humans, by their nature, seem to be governed by some primitive system of prioritisation. This is probably why people seem to focus the 99% of their time, energy, fears and hopes into the forseeable future – that is, a maximum of about 3 months or roughly a season.

People by and large either are too lazy or are spooked at assessing their entire lives beforehand, as if our one life is this one, sacred big-ass thing that needs to be lived, but not analysed, scrutinised or discussed. Therein seems to lie much of the problem, be you a housewife grocery shopping, a student cramming for another standardised test, or a politician tripping over the bodies of dead children to win the next election.

When tomorrow comes, none of these people are going to be here on these forums, petitioning the government to change policy, or waving signs that say 'down with nuclear'. Well, maybe a couple. But that's how it starts doesn;t it?

It's so rare to mobilise everyone straight away (as I recall, even Three Mile Island mobilised quite a small number of people in the unfolding events to demonstrate the nuclear energy company).

  • Socrates

Agent Orange was used in Vietnam, DU and Dime used in the Gulf and Bosnia, but exposing sailors in peacetime shows a callous disregard.

Since all things nuclear are related to national security, consumers have few rights. This would not be true of solar, geothermal or wind energy. Nuclear promotes paranoia and cancer and mutations, and represents a threat of proliferation. Soon, you must have a police state to classify what goes on and who is harmed.

Without effective legal remedies for consumers, the damage is never paid by the nuclear industry. Those costs must be born by consumers in peacetime. The toll is mounting but never calculated nor shifted to those who cause it.

    • jec jec

If the nuclear companies had to PAY for their damages, they would not be in business. Governments are so determined to use nuclear, they must have awful agendas. Its a terrible way to run the world, to let nuclear poison the citizens/people, who then have to pay for medical treatments. The new world order…..

      • Socrates

There are those who want to depopulated the planet down to about 500 million. Nuclear activities will accomplish this by reducing fertility. But it seems to leave behind too much pollution for those remaining on the planet.

The focus must be on profit and power. Who owns the uranium mines and who has the nukes are those who are pushing the agenda.

The avian flu was viewed by some as a means of depopulation that would depopulated without leaving behind a destroyed ecosystem.

It must just be greed and power and stupidity.

Any industry or service should have to calculate and pay for the damage. Nuclear energy is a sacred cow. It gets a free ride because of the defense industry and who owns the mineral rights.

It is a heck of a way to boil water.

I posted this link awhile back, but here it is again for the new people, and those who missed it before. It is a report from the army on how Fuku was handled by the US military, and how they gave soldiers latex gloves, paper towels and windex to "decontaminate" the radiation.

I noticed people are still surprised, unbelieving, and incredulous that
    1. Fuku is real and a danger
    2. That no one can fight against the nuke industry in today's corrupt USA where corporations own the government
    3. People have been and will be injured, killed, made ill by the nuke industry in it's many forms.

At some point it will be time to realize the truth…the only real solution is to end all nukes. How to do this? I don't know because it is everywhere. The difference with Fuku is that we can visibly see the damaged reactors. The nuke repositories are hidden behind fences silently poisoning everything and everyone.

Here are the links to government docs:

    5. Shoes from helicopter crews 10,000 micro-microcuries per 100 square centimeters, or per frisk. 50 miles out (exposure) March 13
    6. Surface readings taken on the Reagan of the feet of people who had been on the SDF ship, 2500 counts per minute at 100 miles out no time given March 13"

…."I'd never seen it on a nuclear-powered ship before, I'd never seen any skin contamination, never seen any sort of contamination anywhere that it wasn't supposed to be," Powell said Wednesday in an interview with The Associated Press on the deck of the carrier as sailors cleaned the expansive surface to try to strip it of any residual radioactivity.

While the checks of helicopter crews were being done, air samples were "coming back hot," Powell said of the situation on March 13. …..

Looks like the crew got dosed pretty good.

I vividly remember such news tidbits from 3/11 after #1 and #3 went kaboom. The tales of the helicopter readings convinced me that, yes indeed, Fukushima had released some pretty nasty stuff.

    Hydrogen explosion my ass.

TEPCO had all the resources in the world to TELL the US RR that the S had Hit the Fan. But no…. kept our sailors and officers in the dark.

To this day, the lies continue.

The lies of the global nuclear cabal may go down in history as the most heinous of all. But we won't be around long enough for enough people to "get it."

    So go shopping.

"… they were drinking desalinated sea water, bathing in it …"

Back in high school we watched a documentary about the bi kin i bomb tests, and they said that the soldiers who had been sent onto the island to investigate after the blast then came in and showered on the ship. When tested for radiation they kept testing with measurable readings on their bodies, and so those in charge just kept sending them back to shower again … but the water used in the showers was being drawn up from the ocean, so they were basically trying to wash the rads off using water contaminated with more rads. By now, the Navy should know better and have alternative plans for situation like this–especially in an age of biological, chemical, and radiological weaponry. Our service people deserve better than this.

Your are welcome Ana. Standard operating procedure for industrial waste byproducts, take a negative and turn it into a positive by creating a market for it. Fluoride sold as a (municipal) drinking water additive is a waste byproduct from creating aluminum or MTBE (now outlawed in many states) used as an additive in gasoline is a waste byproduct from refining oil and gas but the waste byproduct of uranium enrichment i.e. depleted uranium is the deadliest of them all (or you wish you were dead rather than suffer from its affects).

Dr. Busby (and others) can go into a country and do hair analysis and discover everything he needs to know. Substances, amounts, timelines, comparisons, etc. but other medical tragedies around the world are a mystery including sea life?

I am a navy veteran. This is so disgusting and dishonorable. So mad I could bite through a nail! The fucking Reagan is a NUCLEAR powered aircraft carrier. You know damn good and well they have radiation monitors all over that ship. Yet they left those poor sailors in harms direct way for over a month, knowing that they were being exposed to this deadly plume. What the fuck were they thinking? The Captain of that ship should be court martialed and sent to prison for life! Our president is as much to blame as any. I have a picture of the sailors scrubbing the deck as my screen saver. You are not forgotten my fellow sailors and marines! JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED! Our government is corrupt! We are all going to pay the price soon. Hell we already are.
