Title: Japan PM’s Fukushima Remark Backfires at Home
Source: Associated Press
Author: MARI YAMAGUCHI
Date: September 14, 2013

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s reassurance to the International Olympic Committee that contaminated water leaks from the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant are “under control” has backfired at home.

[...] Abe gave an emphatic speech declaring that radioactive contaminants from the leakage had no impact to waters outside the bay near the plant and “will never do any damage to Tokyo.” [...]

“Contaminated water ‘control’ running astray,” the nationwide Asahi newspaper said in its front-page top story Saturday. “Credibility of prime minister’s message to overseas is shaking.” [...]

The plant has been reporting spikes in radioactive tritium from underground water samples near a major tank leak last month. TEPCO said Saturday tritium in the latest sample measured 150,000 becquerels per liter, more than twice the limit allowed for release into the ocean. [...]

Honest Abe is as dishonest as the Olympic Committee members who voted for Tokyo over Istanbul or Madrid.

The winning vote was a sham. Powerful forces combined to award Tokyo the 2020 Olympics despite knowing that a short distance away, Japan and the world is experiencing the worst ecological disaster in the history of mankind.

The Olympics are not going to matter…the true question is whether Japan will still be a viable country by 2020.

I agree, you and I know how they sway the committee members, it is no secret it has been going on since the inception of the Olympic committee, that is how you get the games, not through merit, money, gift, endowments, etc, etc, etc. farce.

Hi Sickputer,it's been awhile since we've met up here & I hope this finds you well. I've held the same opinion on nearly every aspect of your post as well of those with whom we concur on the matters at hand. As I've always been flexible with regard to any new developments that could shed new light on the true status & nature of the many global & domestic problems, threats & challenges facing the Earth & everything that inhabits it including us, & in fact due to (subspecies?)of human activities. In that respect perhaps the OC unwittingly did "our" side a favor by either hastily,ill-chosen decision or an intentional either malicious or over-confidance in origin(?) or better but unlikely-a "hidden ally(s)?)who surely must know or understand that one need not be a rocket scientist or nuclear physicist, just common-sense and reasoning skills that holding the Games there won't be possible without a Herculean International effort that also produces technology to finally have the capability to treat Fukushima NPP's fatal wounds as well as to deal with the foulness that's still gushing out at levels that WILL rule Tokyo out of existence much less the site for the Olympics & choosing Tokyo brought the MSM attention & public awareness up while Big Nuke counters with PR blitz with more paid BS'ers advising people to drink water from the ongoing leaks of treated water tanks & feed their own grand-kids Tohoku seafood, bananas & airplanes BS,etc. Will we downwind even see 2020? :|

I just sent an email to the US Olympic committee regarding the absurd idea of participating in Tokyo 2020 games. I urge everyone here to do the same. If enough of us keep sending the same message it will make them investigate further and eventually agree with us that putting our athletes in harms way would be a horrendous criminal act. This will also bring world attention to the ongoing catastrophe. Please ALL OF YOU do the same.

Frankly, I don't give a hot damn whether the Holy Olympics are held in Japan or on the moon. Anyone stupid enough to spend money on an overblown event in a radioactive venue deserves to be irradiated! The people of Tokyo have had no choice in the matter. Their home, their health, their culture, their future are all being crushed by the Fukushima juggernaut, and I'm supposed to care about its effect on the 2020 Olympics!?

Yes, I know the athletes have worked for years for their moment in the sun, but that's none of my concern. There are people who have shed blood, sweat and tears to make life better for others (and WITHOUT the boost from "performance-enhancing" drugs) and nobody gives a thought to their sacrifices.

Anyway, before the corrupt Olympic Committee makes a decision to shift ground, the ground will have already shifted under Daiichi. No harm in writing to the USOC if that's your tactic, but they have had plenty of time to act rationally and we have run out of time…

Have these clowns made any announcement that hasn't been proven to be misleading or totally false, or made any press-release that hasn't blown up their faces ??

Because I can't remember any, and it must be some sought of record to go for 2.5 years without telling the truth at least once.

  • Experts generally agree that overall impact from the contamination gets diluted becomes negligible as it further spreads into the sea.Lake Barrett, a former US nuclear regulator and an outside advisor to TEPCO, agrees with Abe."Now, to get into a little, tiny detail about it, is there a little, tiny bit of runoff that may have cesium in it? The answer is, yes there is, but that's still under control from a public health and safety and environmental protection point of view," he told the Associated Press.  Why all of a sudden does this àmerican Lake get to decide all this. Was he parachuted in by Obummer with special instructions to never mention bio-magnification? Any more experts to parrot the official line?

Abe sounds like France, they are protected from their own radiation and any from outside their borders.

Tokyo is fine, the rest of the Island is beginning to die off.

Doubt nations will shoot themselves in the foot by not participating in the Olympics they recently approved of by saying nuclear fallout is a bad thing. In China, you are going, in Russia, you are going, in France, you are going.

Only the individual athletes can make a statement by not attending.

The athletes should be given two competition options: with or without a HAZMAT suit. Not that a HAZMAT suit would help, but at least it should be offered to them. Imagine the cycling events, the hammer throw, the marathon or the triathlon, competed for this extra level of challenge of wearing a HAZMAT suit?

If only these people in positions of power had told the truth from the beginning with the same effort that has been put into obtaining these Olympics, we would be in a lot better place than this grim outright cataclysmic disaster.

    My friends-

The Tokyo Hazmat Olympics (THMO) would be worth more in commercial advertising than any US NFL Championship, and might be quite entertaining if the environmental and genome stakes were not quite so high. According to CBS, the price of a 30-second advertisement hit a record high US $4,000,000 in the last season.

I’m still working on a viable business model to capitalize on the THMO advertisement potential and use that revenue to ban earth based fission, and will report back if I think of anything substantial.

While I agree with all who cannot believe the announcement on the selection of Tokyo for the Olympics, I believe the glass half full was just refilled. What better publicity to announce a spectacular event, and subsequently be required to call it off? You might ask, “how could this be called off?”

Economics and politics are not that different from Newton’s first law of motion: … an object either is at rest or moves at a constant velocity, unless acted upon by an external force.

We have multiple external forces in play, which few have the ability to control. The event is 6 years away, long enough for seismic changes to occur, but perhaps not soon enough to take any ELE preventing actions…

What we know is that before the Tohoku earthquake, Japan’s economy was in a death spiral. (Cont.)

The earthquake and tsunami further eroded the health of Japan’s economy. For one view of the economy (which does not factor in the effects of this disaster) based on the deficit and the effects of Japan’s monetary policy check out Kyle Bass of Hayman Hedge Fund Capital Investment. http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/e2696b86-bd9d-11e2-890a-00144feab7de.html#axzz2eveGvM8T.

From a molecular biology perspective, review Chernobyl: Consequences of the Disaster for the Population and the Environment by Yablokov AV, Nesterenko VB, and Nesterenko AV
Ann NY Acad Sci 1189 (2009) of Yablakov. Based on this study, the terrible side effects of low to mid level radiation begin within approximately 5-6 years of exposure.

In Japan, the effects of radiation began to be noticed within 2 years, suggesting a higher radiation exposure. This is also supported by the reported effects of radiation on the US service persons needlessly exposed during Operation Tomodachi. While I truly empathize for those in Northern Japan and those in the US military deployed in this operation, they are part of the ongoing radiation experiment and will prove Yablokov’s conclusions and reported results, are true.

I know we would all like to see the rejection of Tokyo as a potential Olympic host site now. It wasn't rejected for a number of geopolitical reasons. (Con't.)

Time is short. Get the word out and do not dwell on the THMO.

According to Newton’s laws, the TMHO will not happen. But do not squander this opportunity to reschedule or relocate an event posted in the MSM.

Tokyo Olympics Bid was Fixed by the International Olympic Committee’s Nuclear Lobby

The lame acquiescence of International Olympic Committee to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s blatant lies about Fukushima radiation leaks being under control” is an act of reckless negligence on the health risk to young athletes aiming for a spot at the 2020 Olympics.

The Olympic hosting rights was stolen from safer and better-off candidate cities Istanbul and Madrid by a well-financed lobbying effort from Japan’s national committee and the Education and Sports Ministry, which provides murky donations for sports programs in developing countries.

The hidden factor behind Tokyo’s campaign of radiation denial was the quiet support from the global nuclear industry acting through the IOC’s corporate sponsorship program. The political influence and corruption behind this campaign was so obvious that even the semi-governmental NHK television news has raised questions about bribery in the bidding process.
