Title: More leaks found at crippled Japan nuclear plant
Source: AP

[...] TEPCO spokesman Junichi Matsumoto [...] said officials are investigating the cause of that leak, but that it was unlikely the pipe had been loosened by the many aftershocks that have hit the plant.
The structural integrity of the damaged Unit 4 reactor building has long been a major concern among experts because a collapse of its spent fuel cooling pool could cause a disaster worse than the three reactor meltdowns. [...]

Not “could be worse” – it will be worse.
First off, there’s more fuel in the #4 SFP than there was in reactors 1,2 and 3 combined.
Second, there’s no containment whatsoever to shield it from release – not that the containment did much, but at least it allowed some of the radiation to flow down into the china syndrome pits.
This radiation will be all over the place.
I think it’s highly possible it has fallen in the past 24 hours.
Report Comment
Good point. You bring out into the cognizance the obvious.
Just what is the difference between a reactor and a spent fuel pool?
The latter has no containment, the rods are spaced a little farther apart, and the rods are extremely more dangerous than fresh rods.

I wonder if now, regardless of official warnings, is when we (even in North America) should be buying the potassium pills?
Report Comment
Better not rely on or wait for ‘official’ warnings. By then it will be way too late..
Buy a Geiger Counter, digital, plug it in the wall and let er run.
If the alarm goes off, take the measures you have set up and are ready with..
Where there is smoke, there is usually fire, even if the ‘authorities’ say there is nothing to worry about..
In every case I can remember, the public was the last to know, and they were never moved..
Protect yourself, cause no one else seems to care, and has all of the reasons in the world to deny/cover up what is really happening.

What about kelp tablets? They’re cheap, easy to find, and safer. I just bought a bottle of Jamieson brand 100 pills for $5. I crush 1 tablet a day and mix it in with the family’s meals, just enough to keep our thryoids topped up. That, and regular use of iodized salt should, I’m hoping, keep my kids from uptaking radioactive iodine. (We’re in Ontario, so we get low but regular exposure to the jet stream contaminants.)
And every day everyone in the family has to eat 1 apple and 1 raw carrot, that’s been my rule for a year. Good sources of pectin to help flush out metals. (I’m not going to give them actual clay for chelation at this point, not until SFP #4 topples.)

Hi Jonah: Maybe get on the Zeolite program too. Worth a look for you and your family.

i found the liquid on vitacost for 6bucks 600 doses. but thats not all we need to do that only protects your thyroid. its important to take minerals like cal/mag because the radioactive elements are similar in form and will be used in place of them if you are deficient. also lecithin protects your cells and not only kelp but other green superfoods like spirulina are very good. apple pectin perhaps the most important of all take on empty stomach sep from minerals to remove radiation from your body.
Report Comment
I’m trying the apple pectin as of last week and hoping it has a positive effect.
Report Comment
I know you’ve probably already thought about this but just make sure the apple/apple pectin you’re consuming is organic otherwise you will be ingesting more chemicals along with the apple. The pectin content, which flushes the system and gave rise to the old adage, ‘an apple a day…, varies by variety. One of the very best is Jonathan an old apple from 1800s and if you can’t get that then its modern cross, a cultivar from the 50s, Jonagold. I think the rule of thumb with radiation is just to make sure you excrete it as quickly as possible before it starts to do damage. Good additions to the diet are sunflower seeds and sunflower lettuce (the first pair of sprouted leaves). Green clay is also good and if you can’t cope with the idea of drinking it then bathing in it is most beneficial. Red wine is useful too in ridding the body of radionucleids – again make sure it’s organic, Cheers!

Very cool deeper reminders. Thanks friend!
Sunflower lettuce,..the first inner leaves,…I’m on it!

Potassium iodide is for a one time release – what we are going to get is weeks of the Fuku radioactive stuff. iodine tincture applied on the body everyday is much better in this case. Potasssium iodide could be harmful when too large a quantity is ingested. It worked for Cernobyl because the radioactive leak was stopped fast.

Good point – thanks!

you should have already bought it. I bought the powered 26 gram bottle.from solacii labs. You should check my math but I mixed 26 grams in 1 liter bottle. the cap of the 1 liter bottle is one full dose. it sits in my refridge. some times when the news is real bad like 8.5 tons of water leaking out of 4sfp i wait 4 days or so and take a half dose. god bless

Thanks too!

There is always some comparison between bad and worse that really doesn’t define anything. Fuku worse than chenobyl, spent fuel pool collapse is worse than 3 way melt out…starts to become idiotic.
Does it really matter if an isotope has a half life of 200,000 years or 240,000 years? These comparisons make my head spin.
Report Comment
The only caveat I make is that some of the #4 fuel has been burning off for the past month.
And some has burned off and on over the past year.

Integrity of Nuclears’ scientific community
a concern among nuclear insiders.
Leaks, cracks in truth containment, and collapse of official lies could be worse than telling the truth for the entire Nuclear Industry, as they could release Blowback Rays and health-damaging Backlash Particles.
BRs and BPs – both classified as Career Ending Emissions (CEE) – have a half-life longer than most political careers or university tenure.
Leaks of these Accountabilityactive elements have occurred more frequently since the discovery and widespread use of Internetanium, a dangerous substance, use of which has so far escaped sufficient regulation and control, and which is highly destabilizing to Inert Bureaucrats.
Spokespeople say efforts to contain CEEs are being hampered by Industry plumbers and are under threat from an earthquake of truthtelling.

Alas, the bureaucrats are not as inert as one might sometimes wish. They have sensed the danger and have lifted their heads from grazing. It’s getting ugly out there:

Hah! Let there be an avalanche of earthquakes of truthtelling!!! And may the truth crest and roll with tsunami force to flood over and puncture (with the prick of a tractor or small truck) the rubber-berm of protective, indecent, inhumane lies that the nuclear industry shrouds itself with!!! Trees flying and ground a-shaking, let the nuclear industry begin to cave under the quaking tremors of truthtelling!

lets see, more and more leaks, a pipe ‘falls’ off. earthquake didnt do it they say, didnt freeze off they say, etc didnt do it, they cant find workers to work, they have people that cant read working there, i would say that they have now hired people with nothing to loose. this being the case, has anyone thought of deliberate sabotage buy one or more individuals?
just something else to consider about all this bulls***.

Fukulongone is hot as two dollar pistol and TEPCO is telling us that they have frozen pipes. HAHAHA.

Kind of tragic, kind of sad, and kind of funny.

oh and then FUKU pipes are ‘leaking’ and falling off… wooow

“Could be worse”…..
Really? Ya think??
1300+ rod assemblies including 204 fresh ones..
On the floor.. In a pile.. No control rods.. No moderation..
Pouring seawater on that isnt gonna help..
And lets not forget 2 has a FP as well..
So does 1..
Wonder what about one made them decide to cover it up first..
Before the tent, the roof was gone, every single beam and girder..
More destroyed than even 3`s roof members..
Hydrogen… Please…
Even an employee tweeted that 4`s SFP was better than the others….
And 4 is scary indeed itself…
I`m more afraid of what we cannot see, than what we can…
Oh yea, 4 will fall..
Hope that is the worst of it..
But we just dont know, do we…
Report Comment
Anyone who believes that the explosion at #3 was simply hydrogen is really, REALLY gullible.
Report Comment
A nuclear EXPLOSION has taken place when we clearly see spaghettified (wiggley) steel beams strewn about .everywhere. around the exploded reactor vessel. Hydrogen explosion is an utter lie a flippin joke.

I have this feeling that there is a lot going on we don’t see or hear about…I sort of think there have been more explosions-big ones, that haven’t been reported. The photos from fuku look worse and worse …How can they call that heap of rub -BULL a nuclear plant. I think there has been ongoing distruction and very little re-construction..

pepco says the leaks aren’t related to the quake?
Sow e know the leaks are related to the quake
i guess it’s good because the other choice is the leaks are corrosion from all the salt they pumped in during the crisis start.
if it were corrosion, then we would expect lots more leaks.

Are the wheels coming off this wagon?
The number of leaks in increasing, with no let up in sight, and no word on where all that radioactive water is going.. oops, a teensy weensy bit went into the ocean AGAIN… DRAT! Sorry bout that.
Number 4 spent fuel pool seems to be going downhill fast with no real solution, because most/all of the fuel inside is melted, with no way to move it or remove it..
The number of workers is going down, (32 subcontractors to start, only 2 left) and money to keep up this cleanup work, (with no profit coming out of it, EVER) seems to be a GROWING problem..
Given that Japan seems desperate enough for money to send people back into an exclusion zone to live, work and MAKE MONEY, BY INVITATION, that is pretty bad, all by itself.
Even Russia (hard up for money) never did that. They sent 600,000 to a million people in to try to clean up the mess. Before this is over, Japan may end up doing the same, if they make it that far.
Report Comment
This is a shame. Japan shold evacauate. But they have to wait for the authorities to tell them. THe Japs that son’t leave aren’t very smart. Because they must know this is serious. I would not want to be within a thousand miles downwind from the place. Millions of Japs will be dead in a few years. It will take tens of millions of people totally screwed up to make the poor raise enough stink to close these damn things. Because of nuke plants we have depleted uranium. So they have to get rid of it. Because i’s so dense they make our tanks and munitions out of it. But they can’t just keep making the stuff unless they use up what they have made. So they need some kind of conflict to use it up. The world will never have peace as long as this country exists in it’s present form. Anything done to this country to destroy it benefits the world.

How much nuclear waste can the oceans withstand? Wherever this stuff goes it kills everything and contaminates the seafood. When the oceans turn black you can’t clean them up. All the nuclear waste in the drums in the ocean when it leaks out who knows what damage will be done. It’s time to close nuke plants. There will be another disaster. It might be 5 or 10 years, but it’s going to cause serious damage and who knows if the governmetn will tell the truth.

where you from? if the usa you are in the direct path of this crap.
check this link http://virga.sfsu.edu/scripts/nhemjetstream_model.html its very easy to use and shows the northern hemisphere jet stream. The us may very well end up being more contaminated then japan. I,m done with gulf shrimp thanks bp. I wouldn’t eat a pacific fish if it was free. anyone else notice how those sick seals disappeared.

@yellowrain
“I,m done with gulf shrimp thanks bp…”
I, also do not eat anything from the GOM anymore, yet every day we are bombarded with BP ads on the evening news telling us it’s all good now, come on down! Only criminals would accept such advertising. And, yes, people around here still believe it must be o.k. or the government wouldn’t allow the ads so they continue to eat locally caught fish and shrimp from the GOM. It’s horrifying.
Maybe the government is just preparing them for the imminent collapse of SFP #4.

Here is my take on it:
1. If they halt the cooling then the water that remains starts to increase in temp!
2. Since the POOL is jam packed with SFR’s the temperature will rise “quickly”
….. Since the more SFR the more decay (or residual) heat.
3. As the pool water heats up it tends to get hotter faster
4. If another big quake “struck” during this period, it might even physically “slop”
….. water out of the pool, in which case the rate of change of the temp in the pool
….. would then dramatically change!
5. If the water started to boil off then a SPR pool meltdown would be much more
….. serious since it is not a “hardened” structure and it contains a huge number of
….. SFR’s… and some of them also are the MOX type, which is yet another concern!
I suggested months ago the they remove as many SFR’s as possible to yet another site,
….. but I don’t know why they have not done so YET; my guess it that TEPCO wants to
….. restart #5 and #6…
The Japanese love to GAMBLE and they are betting yet another Trillion Dollar Eco-Disaster
….. will not happen, which is N☢T a safe bet; Ask The Japanese people!!

I think that there are 6 meltdowns.
Fukushima 1, 2, 3 are well known.
Fukushima 5 and 6 were reveiled to be in meltdown a couple of months ago. Was that news a fluke?
Then, now, last week, it was reveiled that reactor apparently had fuel left inside and is also in meltdown.
Report Comment
The article is a piece of crap and the writer of such lies should spend his/her remaining life in Fukushima.
“Officials have not detected any signs of radioactive water from the leaks reaching the surrounding ocean. Sandbag walls have been built around problem areas as a precaution.
The government announced in December that the plant had reached “a cold shutdown condition” and is now essentially stable.
On Monday, six inspectors from the government’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency will begin an inspection of the plant to ensure its continued stability. They will study the reactors’ cooling functions and measures to prevent explosions and nuclear chain reactions, among other steps to keep the plant under control, officials said.”
What BS!!!! The ocean water of freaking contaminated!!!!! “To keep the plant under control”? Didn’t TEPCO just admit they didn’t know what happened to the fuel? How are they controlling corium melting into the earth? What’s sad is that the few people who care enough to read the story will come away feeling safe and sound because a giant cluster of nuclear reactors in melt down is under control.
Report Comment
Well, if it was logistically impossible to evacuate the TMI area, and it is similarly impossible to evacuate the huge contaminated area around the Fuku reactors… then what is the likelihood of evacuating North America?
It will be like it has been in Japan – those with the money to leave will do it and the rest will be nuked to death.
With dispersion patterns being kept secret, people will have to guess where in the So. Hemisphere to run to.
At least that is the way it looks to me.
I don’t see much cause for hope. That Daichi site has SO many problems of great severity… and it is too hot to get close to… and even if you could get close to it – then what? What do you do then?
It really looks like we are screwed this time. Like in that movie On the Beach, we are just waiting for it to happen to us.

halflife definition: The halflife is the time it takes a given radioactive isotope to disintegrate half of its atoms. Thus a five second half life is more quickly depleted than a substance with a halflife of 100,000 years. The fukushima mess is much closer to the five second halflife than the isotope with 100,000 halflife, but both should be left in a controlled state instead of given to satan worshipping _____ like the criminal cabal. Some of the quicker among us have taken note of this. The general public will suffer a worse fate. They still believe whatever feels comfy.

What is wrong with this “Picture”:
1. Tepco is one the “GANGS” that runs Japan.
2. What is good for TEPCO is good for Japan.
3. The Japanese people MUST OBEY TEPCO for the “GOOD” of the Country.
4. The financial health of TEPCO is more important than the Physical health of the People!
5. Only TEPCO knows what is best, all others must BOW to TEPCO’s rule.

People in the Western World, need to reexamine the “way” they view Japan and that includes not only how that Country is governed but what actual “say” the Japanese people have in their Governments process!
It has taken almost a year to realize that Japan is actually being “run” by its Powerful Utility Companies and this “business” relationship extends in a “Control Continuum” that extends at one end, from actual Utility direct financial support of the highest Government Leaders in the Country, to the widely known use of organized gangs to keep citizens in line at the other!
The idea that individual Japanese people actually have a say in how they are governed, much less the way their Energy is generated, is just a well publicized fantasy that the Utilities uses to put a nuclear “smily face” on the grim reality that ever facet of Japanese life is less important than what is good for these Utilities! These Powerful Utilities ARE Japan, and the Japanese people are only “forced” customers of these Utilities since they have no other choice of providers when it come to basic needs like electricity, at lest until now! Solar panels have allowed many to get the electricity they need and this is a huge threat to these Utilities, that must be “crushed” ASAP if they are to maintain their complete control over the Japanese people!

Ever since 3/11, the rest of the World’s attention has been focused on the Trillion Dollar Eco-Disaster at Fukushima and Japan’s response to their triple melt down. What we have learned is that the Government has allowed TEPCO to not only remain in Control of this debacle but they have actually enabled the Utility to place huge numbers of Japanese citizens at risk rather than demand that the Utility think first of human health instead of Corp. shareholder profits. The fact that radioactive pollution has now spread Globally and is affecting the rest of the Planet is hardly mentioned in MSM which points to an even greater problem for the rest of mankind; we are helpless and as yet unable to demand any “better” treatment from Japan because our own Leaders are for the most part are in full support of the those Utility backed Leaders in Japan.
Kudos to Germany and many other Countries for pointing the finger at Nuclear Power and the Trillion Dollar Eco-Disaster RISK every nuclear complex now represents! People globally now are becoming informed and starting to demand answers to basic questions and once people start asking questions perhaps change will occur, even if not for the Japanese themselves… one thing is for certain, the Japanese people will be affected by their Trillion Dollar Eco-Disaster for much longer than the estimated 40 to 100 years that it will take to “tidy up” after Fukushima…
