Based on the helicopter views the claims of 150,000 – 200,000 is greatly exaggerated by a factor of 10 at the least. The baseball game has a larger crowd. Someone has been lying.

• Max1 Max1

Based on the various videos I've seen, that baseball crowd was about half of the volume in the streets.

• timebomb

@RAY-D-8-TED-DREAMS, did you make it to around 20 minute into the video?

Also, these are not 'claims' but reports from mainstream Japan journalists.

The 'claim' was made by the politician who tweets there were 20,000.

• GeoHarvey

A view from a helicopter only tells you how many were seen by the camera in the helicopter. Asahi says there are 180,000 to 200,000, and with that number, it is hard to see how a lie they produce would not be found out and discredited by supporters of the nuclear industry and government.

and the brave people of Japan who will not accept their country being poisoned into unlivable hell without a fight.

Hats off to the people at the protest. They represent us all.

I'm just imagining an anti-nuke laola wave around the planet….if everyone went protesting from 6-7 pm in their timezone…wow

• Hurrah! May peeps in the US streets also follow!

• People everywhere must unite on this issue because the pro-nuke powers are entrenching:

… still nothing but *crickets* in Germany about this gigantic demonstration – not even over at Spiegel ONLINE (germany's largest "left-winged" internet news outlet). :/

… anyone here, who knows someone directly or indirectly who works for the SPIEGELnet GmbH or any other major commercial german newspapers and/or (internet) news outlets? (Before someone asks: Nope, *crickets* at [] also. -.-)

Sorry for bad quoting… C&P – and no second thought – is sometimes one step missing. ^^

Centaur, Germany is buzzing over stupid austerity eurozone economic growth stuff, no headline space left for important news

It was a massive display of the people standing up to their government. I felt glad to have been to, not only be part of history, not also film it. I am uploading video of the event as I type.

• Max1 Max1

A quick scan on Google reveals only some US local news outlets had a blurb on it. Even fewer bloggers. I didn't see any MSM outlets mention this. Only CNN had a blurb from two days ago about the upcoming protest.

Alls quiet on the Western front, so to speak.

• Max1 Max1

And of those reporting on this, their numbers… tens of thousands.
TEPCO-esq… NO? Underplay by 10X's.

Tens of thousands X's 10 = hundreds of thousands…
… But whatever. MSM+facts=good luck w/that.

• freedomwv

When I first arrived at the protest, which in the vid I am currently uploading, I said there were about 60,000 people there. Yet, the numbers grew to well over 100,000 very quickly. It was if in a matter of minutes the area was jammed packed with people.

Go Japan Go …. Take back your country from the evil nuclear child molesters …. Take back your souls from corrupt capitalist American death salesmen in fancy suits with lots of money and blood dripping from their wallets … We are rooting for you to crush the criminal nuclear elite …. then to come here to the United States of Cancer (really good for GE's cancer diagnostic equipment businesses) and help us crush the serpents in their ivory towers of fake statistics and fraudulent science.

How is not every scientist who remains quiet to the pro-nukers false claims of necessity and safety and unbreachable containments not complicit in this nuclear science led assault on life and planet Earth?

If you are a businessman and you do not speak out against the crimes of your business elite corporate criminal nuclear assassin peers, then there is blood on your hands. The United States has committed ecocide, genocide, biocide, and Hillary and Barack and Jeffy Immelt should go to the World Court and share a cell with Ratko Mladic and Radovan Karadzich (sp?) and wallow in chains for helping to cover up these crimes of the nuclear Nazis!

Overstated? I don't think so. These guys are making the pedophile priests and Sanduskys of the world look benign by comparison.

Arnie G., bless his newly discovered anti-nuke soul, is still pulling punches: Please, Arnie, and everyone, start to call out the nuclearists for being the psychopaths THEY ARE.
