Sounds more like someone was intentionally shutting down these phone systems. More than likely a break in, or theft.

Whomever it was is not doing the NRA any favors in the gun control debate.

The motive could have been anything from intentional disabling of security to rage against corporate greed to just trying to be cool using their toys of power. There are all sorts of wack jobs out there, with high powered weapons they don't need, fueling the debate.

I have the greatest sympathy for those 'literally'..in the cross-fire' of the gun control issue.
      But I'll say this..
My having sympathy for a grieving parent or loved one..and handing over the right to bear arms.. would prevent me from protecting my own..should they be endangered.
      This is worth defending.

Teach respect for oneself and firearms.

There is a difference between a deer rifle or a shotgun, and automatic weapons, armor piercing rifles, and sniper rifles. I'm not against bearing arms in a reasonable manner, but when you buy a weapon that is designed solely to inflict as much damage on as many people as possible, that's another thing. I'm a qualifying expert shot, but I'm not in favor of civilians owning military grade weapons.

Thank you for stepping in with your comment here dosdos. I'm in full agreement with you. And no one was asking anyone to give up their Second Amendment rights. That was made as clear as possible. It's just more NRA-lies so they can keep working for the weapons manufacturers and keep getting rich.

If I( was to "THANK" yet another dose of the same propaganda & statistics set out by the SAME PR spokesmen that the nuke-pukes TRY to sound like "experts" for hijacking the threads here with OT BS it would be "THANKS for reminding me that my NRA membership dues were overdue and the offensive, insulting reference to one of the oldest & most prestigious institutions in the USA just inspired me to upgrade to a lifetime membership! ;) THANKS AGAIN!! I have NO respect or feel camaraderie with ANYONE who joined forces and meld minds with the filth who politicized the deaths of children or ANY innocents whether by firearms or other means while using this forum to push their beliefs & opinions on anyone else and in this instance did NOT once place the REAL blame and DANGER on the social conditions that cause these homicides that would've likely occurred regardless of the assailants options as to the "tools" available to do the foul things some of you are trying to implicate the NRA or pro-gun people like myself are guilty of??!! ADMIN has banned other volatile subjects & actions here on ENE and AGAIN I HOPE the same consideration is given to those of us who may not be back to ENE if we can expect people thought to have known better and the newbies who are being encouraged to start their tenure here braying loudly on their soapbox about whatever OT crap they decide is relevant or more important than Fukushima, nukes & energy-related topics! :| ~**

If we start seeing giant mutated animals we may have a new need for large capacity high powered weapons. Who knows what the future holds for us in this brave new world.

Laughing! Oh My! Good one! And…well, … guess you might have a point there. My concern has been thinking that people might be more apt to go a little more extreme and crazy given the effects of radiation on brain-chemistry, that it might be a good idea to at least okay more background checks and limit the magazines (unless maybe they are rented on site at a firing range). I'm former military 25 years Army … and I did love the weapons! But too many people are seriously crazy or delusional or something. I'm also a mom so … my heart breaks when it comes to those little school kids. Plus, I don't want to worry about going to a stupid movie theater or shopping mall either!

Thank goodness we have a second amendment. It has nothing to do with hunting or weapon types either. It has everything to do with protecting your home and home land. It also has to do with protecting oneself from multiple targets at range. And the oppression of a tyrannical government. That was in there too somewhere.

Cellphone use heavy, but still operating in Boston
“WASHINGTON (AP) — Cellphone companies say service is operating in the Boston area, but with heavy traffic following of the explosions at the Boston Marathon.
“A law enforcement official, citing an intelligence briefing, said cellphone service had been shut down Monday in the Boston area to prevent any potential remote detonations of explosives.
“But officials with Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel said there had been no such requests.
“Sprint spokeswoman Crystal Davis said: ‘Minus some mild call blocking on our Boston network due to increased traffic, our service is operating normally.’….."

Today was Riesing (sp) being sent to the president and a senator (anyone remember the Anthrax letters after 9/11?) and a pipe bomb in a city sewer in the Midwest. I believe these events are orchestrated.

TY. So now…CNN just went back and said no arrests have been made, it seems, after NBC challenged them?

This is just sad, even by CNN's standards.

  • I guess 2 or 3 of these are orchestrated, although my time spent guarding an SCE power station included dodging elephant rounds from driveby's on the Interstates… Guy made the mistake of getting out his car – military issue Ray-bans, slacks, perfect FED teeth, car perfectly serviced (in Cucamunga ?!? LOL, stuck out like a …. in a bad b film)..
