Title: BBC iPlayer – This World: Inside the Meltdown
Source: BBC
Date: Feb 23, 2012

Investigative documentary. A look at 2011′s tsunami that swamped Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant, making 100,000 people homeless and causing nuclear meltdown and a radiation leak.

Watch the documentary here

At 28:50 in

Narrator: Behind the scenes the Japanese gov’t knew the situation was sliding out of control.

The explosion [at Reactor No. 1] had halted efforts to get water on to the reactor cores.

It was now only a matter of time before the fuel would melt through out in to the open spewing out much worse levels of radiation

Prime Minister Naoto Kan: “We started to think about how far the accident would spread. I asked people to do a simulation. The worst case scenario was an evacuation 200km to 300km around the plant.”

So, you went with the reassurances of TEPCO and did a symbolic evacuation of the populace from the immediate area of the power plants, which left the rest of the population to fend for themselves. Such an 'honorable' man…

"Prime Minister Naoto Kan: “We started to think about how far the accident would spread. I asked people to do a simulation. The worst case scenario was an evacuation 200km to 300km around the plant.”"

I would have guessed the west coast of Canada and the U.S. was farther. Hmmmmmm.

    • many moons

Lots of plans to do the right thing and save lives if things had gotten a tiny bit worse….cmon… "Our plans was to put everyone up at the Hiton in Tokyo…for as long as it takes…but lucky as we were that the worst didn't happen and really no one needed saving…few folks went to a shelter but we advised them it was safe to go back home…we got this melt down all rapped up…just one question remains…what is the MYSTERIOUS black dust????

BBC Documentary, HA!!! Sorry, explosion or NO explosion, the earthquake alone, before the tsunami, before or commensurate with the power outage and well before the explosions at FukuDai ensured guaranteed melt-thru's. Why would this propaganda above have a title like this? The reason is that our pro-nuke friends wish the world to think, when it thinks (the people part), that a melt-DOWN and/or melt-THROUGH is ONLY possible when there is first an explosion, maybe even they hope you to think that a hydrogen explosion is required for partial or full melt-down or thru. That is, at all these other Japanese nuke plants (18?) where there have been likely melt-downs or full melt-throughs (research Kashiwazaki Kariwa 2007 from a 6.8 quake beneath that plant) that we don't know about or are more blacked out in the MSM, we are going to be less likely to focus on these other matters of equal or also serious import. They, they being propaganda managers, seriously hope, that they can make a kind of lemonade from Fukushima Dai ichi lemons. Obviously, there were explosions there. The propagandists (state/industry/covert/military) like to say that these were hydrogen explosions when much more likely they were all partly or fully nuclear explosions. The very existence of FukuDai is being looked on in part as an opportunity by framers and social information construction managers as an opportunity to, as usual and not unexpected, dumb down the public about ALL circumstances that are similar, but not as obvious. This is meant, in part but a large part, to keep us all in line–that is not to overthrow the status quo when future nuclear reactor or as yet unknown ongoing nuclear reactor cataclysms occur. Don't be duped. Lot's of efforts, very clever or not so clever as the case may be, are afoot to dupe those asking questions. These are growing in sophistication; but if you learn critical thinking, you will be able to see.

These explosions were simply a trick of light, the cameras having been badly shaken by the earthquake, which weakened the electronics to the point that they couldn't handle all the light coming from a bright day. Tepco is actively studying ways to make cameras more earthquake-resistant.

    • Oh, TMI-2 managed to melt just fine without an explosion first. Chalk River managed it twice in the '50s! There were many more you may or may not have heard about. They weren't these big power reactors, but the technology's basically the same. They knew all along what these babies could do if they wanted to. And they've always known there's not much anyone could do to stop them once they'd decided to melt.

Which, in my opinion, is why there never should have been a civilian nuclear power industry in the first place. All they really wanted was the power of God to make humanity extinct in one fell swoop. They got that, 400+ times over. They never needed anything more.

  • stopnp stopnp

The explosion was a result of meltdown. TMI had one too :) It just wasn't as violent. According to Arnie that is. I love that guy. I hope he doesn't turn up dead from the truths that he speaks.

  • obewanspeaks obewanspeaks

Humanity is now at the precipice and we must demand that they stop, halt, deny, and end all Nuclear Technology Activity immediately world wide. Shut them down, shut them all down!
