More than a year since the catastrophic nuclear and radiation disaster at Japan’s Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant, concerns loom ever larger over the site as experts warn with increasing worry of the unstable condition of the cooling pond at Unit 4, where spent nuclear fuel holds ten times the amount of radioactive cesium that was blown into the atmosphere with the 1986 reactor explosion at Chernobyl. Russia would be well served to join their call for action – will it?

Faced with yet another impending doom, the Japanese government seems to be doing exactly what it was at the height of the disaster in 2011 – namely, denying the problem and downplaying the risks. Or else why would the Japanese public and experts and politicians alike fear that summoning international intervention was the only recourse left to avert the brewing disaster?

Scary. And look at the TBS/JNN webcam -Reactor 4 is a shell. The others are not much better. Where the pool containing the fuel cells is located is a black guttered area. Not a good condition.

Why can't they go in they did at Chernobyl? I know it's dangerous but geez the Russians were cleaning up that mess with bare hands and yes many died but not everyone and they did what was necessary for the entire Northern Hemisphere. Of course it still is melting and causing environmental havoc but at least they did everything they could at the time of the accident. This is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. I grow weary of the lack of action concerning this life altering nuclear catastrophe. NO NUKES

Fukushima Daiichi is on the Pacific shoreline, and the water table is very shallow. They can't dig down below the reactor and create a pad, like they did at Chernobyl to create the base of the sarcophagus, without dealing with highly radioactive flooding.
TEPCO is starting to create a wall around the complex running several stories deep to hold the contaminated groundwater, but it will be years before they finish it. And it won't serve as a base to seal it, it will only prevent the spread of contaminated groundwater.
Basically, the complex is too big to encase

They hacked into your twitter account?
Strange thing keeps on happening on Japanese twitter accounts. Followers are unfollowed without anybody doing anything. Anti-nuke information text can't be retweeted, if it appears on TL, then text becomes white on white and unreadable unless you highlight as if you were to cut & paste etc. There is definitely an information war going on.

Rooks, I just wanted to make sure you take advantage of a good firewall and CrapCleaner (CCleaner) etc;
I would also recommend a stack viewer like TCPView to close those ports that shouldnt be open.

I have no idea of God's Plan. I do believe there will have to be a cleansing of some sort, a chance for humanity to choose between good and evil, an "end times" to put it scripturally. I don't know if we are there / if this is it. In 2011 a huge wildfire came within 50 feet of the nukes at Los Alamos: within FIFTY FEET of massive disaster. Then the wind direction changed and the fire stopped approaching the nukes. This could well have been divine intervention. If so, it could happen at Fuku as well: in that case there would now be a more highly publicized opportunity for people to choose between good and evil.
