Tokyo Electric Power Co. said the temperature of the No. 2 reactor at its damaged Fukushima nuclear plant has risen and it injected boric acid into the unit early this morning to prevent criticality.

It took the step between 12:19 a.m. and 3:20 a.m. today, according to an e-mailed statement. [...]

    OMG! ha,ha ha, oh dear….COLD…..bwa-ha,ha, ha…..SHUTDOWN??? roflmao…..until I cry.

Soon all their cold shutdown lies, will unravel….

Lots of things are going to unravel…. no more hiding the truth, it will come out !!

      Hi Cindy

I agree.. Things are going to unravel and the truth will come out. All for the cost, of so many.

Doesn’t look to me, that there will ever be a cold shut down.
Chernobyl isn’t, why should we think this will be?

      ~END NUCLEAR POWER~

Look at the TEPCO webcam, daylight..the ground under the walkway..the big pipes..is almost boiling or steaming. Whats going on with that?

The pipes are breaking because of something that as unpredictable as winter, the cores are melted blobs of molten radioactive hell, and the buildings are falling apart and getting worse with each earthquake. How do you like your cold shut down, with a side of boric acid? I agree dont know whether to laugh cry or throw up.

How long ago (in hours or minutes) did Tepco say:

Water injections may no longer be able…to … cool…nuclear fuel in Reactor No. 2 — [BUT Says criticality is not taking place

    ???

    Tickle me Tepco!
    Elmo you’ve been replaced.

Outnow @ HP: “How can they keep thousands of tons of spent and un-spent fuel rods up on the third story of a damaged building while cooling with water? They will have to keep that stuff up there for some time, working around three melted through reactors. Salt water was poured all around. There were hydrogen explosions and maybe even a moderated criticality.

The intense heat cracks concrete in reactors #1 – 3. If the reactor vessels are violated, then we are looking at three China syndromes in close proximity to the #4 reactor spent fuel rod storage pools with both spent and un-spent rods and no containment at all!!!! The reactor #4 building was damaged by explosions early on and the thousands of tons fuel rods will be hard to remove. If the fuel rods stay there, they will have to run water over those rods until they are removed. Maybe my “thousands of tons” is the wrong weight. I know the weight is very big number.
    ++++
Sorry, I just dont know what to say…or ADD. (FUCK!)

    • What if (according to many reports) the fuel bundles in spent fuel pool #4 are all melted down into a puddle on the floor of the pool (worst case)? Or, what if it is a jumbled mess of tangled partially melted together mass?

No matter what, even if it is still in good shape, (best case) it will not be easy to move anything out of there, considering the condition of the building and the dangerous working conditions around it. And where do they put it, even if a crane can get to the fuel bundles?

Odds are that there is nothing for the cranes to grab and pull out…

Just hold your breath, keep putting radioactive water into onsite storage tanks for about 40 years, and hope for the best.

Interesting to note that TEPCO in its reactor status page gives the same status to reactor 5 as to 1234. I didn’t know reactor 5 was in that much trouble.

and just try and find some info about Fuku in the Tepco web site at the moment. It seems to be even better hidden than before!.

The Japanese Government’s action are so slow that making the whole situation worst.
The reason is they do not want to show outside that whole Japan are in such critical situation. They still want to attract those stupid tourist to visit the Radioactive Hell.

How in the Hell is Boric Acid supposed to reach the center of a semi-solid Nuclear fuel Mass???

    It’s NOT!!!

    • But it proves they are doing something! yeah right.

    • How does this boric acid reach a 65 ton blob that has gone God only knows how many ???? feet down into the ground…

My theory for many months is that as long as 100% pure coolant is not used, the amount of scale and deposition of impurities and compounds will relentlessly increase around the spent fuel and rods in general. Plenty of time for this……….
In turn, this layer being formed will >>insulate< < the remaining rods and so forth. This in turn accelerates the process until the cooling the rods is largely ineffective. and hot spots become unquenchable. Especially if pressure cannot be maintained.

  • I heard that they are trying to bake cookies at this point, because they say it is NOT about fission or criticality or radiation.

The unexplained heating must be coming from the oven brought in to bake the cookies.. What other explanation could there be?

Maybe they are going into partnership with Santa Claus, and pre-baking cookies in time for Christmas?

The authorities resisted evacuating to 50 Km possibly because it would mean evacuating 700,000 people instead of 30,000 at 20 km…

What chance is there of them calling for an evacuation of Tokyo?

I will leave that answer up to you…

all they need to do is to spray liquid nytrogen directly on the temp gauge. Wait… Take a few temp readings… and bingo, they can make public one of the reading and announce cold shutdown!
