Japan’s Prime Minister Defends Handling of Nuclear Crisis, New York Times, April 30, 2011:
[A Japanese government] adviser resigned during a tearful news conference in which he charged that the government was not adequately protecting the population from radiation. [...]
“I cannot allow this as a scholar,” said Mr. Kosako, an expert on radiation safety at the University of Tokyo. [...]
He also blasted the government for what he said was a lack of transparency in releasing radiation levels around the Fukushima Daiichi plant [...]
Government advisory positions are considered prestigious, and it is highly unusual for an academic to quit one in protest. [...]

I give Mr. Toshiso Kosako a lot of credit for caring and for standing up to what is right.
I can’t imagine, how hard this was for him.
I hope from what he did, he has alerted people on the dangers.
Speaking up was an extremely brave thing to do.
The world needs more people like Mr. Toshiso Kosako.

if you read the tiny articles on the story…his resignation concerns the school with high levels of contamination…
he believes children should not be at that site. and the government are not being honest.
what about the kids in china, korea, hawaii and the usa now.
not to mention the coming mega explosion from the cores hitting the water table, with fission reactions for hundreds of years.
this guy will be erased in the next couple of days.
he will not betray his country by doing an interview with a foreign news agency.
i doubt he could even find someone to talk to.

“What about the kids in China, Korea, Hawaii and the USA now.”? – Tony Wilson
Willful denial of the Petkau Effect by the scientific advisers to governmental leaders, regarding nuclear safety, is truly a crime against all mankind.
The unborn and very young are especially vulnerable to internal emitters, which cut through DNA like a buzz-saw through wood.
The utter shame for Japanese leadership to send young innocents into the invisible maelstrom is unthinkable.
The utter shame of American leadership not acting to protect the entire nation is absurd to the point where there is no precedent to be found in all of human history. Ignorance is not the condition of American leaders, it is willful dereliction of duty.
What we are witnessing is Infinite Arrogance + Infinite Pride + Infinite Greed.
This dereliction has expressed utter contempt for the unborn, babies, children and families, a slow motion genocide of not just ethnic groups, but of the human race and indeed, of all living things.

Rainfall has carried the various radio isotopes down upon the produce in our area. To avoid the ingestion of radioactive emmitters, the Noah family has given up broad leaf vegetables and milk products. We have substituted with sprouts of various kinds and replaced milk with pre-311 “Almond Breeze” and pre-311 powdered milk (used for baking).
I especially miss ice cream, but am adjusting to life without it.

Noah, Consider frozen spinach from Trader Joe’s? It has a cut-rate price, advertised as pesticide-free, and Mexico-grown. Spinach is incredibly healthy and contains tons of calcium! Also, there are still MANY pre 3/11 frozen organic ice creams and other products, meats, etc. Check production codes and with companies on their est. turnaround…You can keep most frozen products fresh for up to a year in a freezer.
As for EGGS, I have no idea what their exposure is??…although they fit into the category of dairy!
Does anyone know about whether there’s a good source or set of criteria for SAFE EGGS??? I prefer organic and free range, but I’d rather keep my hens off the grass these days!!
Thanks!…
Report Comment
On eggs: in light of no testing data, free range are more susceptible (via yolks), others are sheltered or enclosed feed by practice. Brown egg chickens consume more feed than white eggs chickens certain times of the year (like now, when it’s colder). Powdered pre-event” whole eggs are available.

Thanks, Mothra…I need protein and love eggs-good detoxifiers, too.. Do you have any stores or name brands on those powdered eggs? I would hope that hens could stay out of the worst of it in a covered enclosure… hopefully, FARMERS ARE WISING UP? and have stocked organic feed from last year!

“Mitsubishi Heavy to retain plan to double nuclear business by FY 2014

TOKYO (Kyodo) — Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. will retain its plan to double nuclear business sales from the current level to 600 billion yen by fiscal 2014 through March 2015, despite the crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, its President Hideaki Omiya said Thursday.
“We have no intention to withdraw the plan, although sales are likely to slow down in the immediate future,” Omiya told a press conference in reference to the crisis at the nuclear plant crippled since the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
Mitsubishi Heavy has confirmed that a U.S. power company has no intention of changing a plan to award a nuclear reactor order to the Japanese company following the disaster, Omiya said, adding he expects Mitsubishi Heavy to secure orders for enhancing safety measures at existing reactors.
“We do not foresee any scenario in which our (nuclear business) sales would suddenly disappear,” he said.
Mitsubishi Heavy said the same day its group net profit in fiscal 2010 more than doubled from the previous year to 30.12 billion yen on cost savings and other improvements, while sales fell 1.3 percent to 2.90 trillion yen.
The company booked a special loss of 10.2 billion yen due to the disaster, which has affected its operations including thermal power plant construction.
Mitsubishi Heavy expects group net profit to increase 16.2 percent to 35 billion yen in fiscal 2011, on sales of 2.85 trillion yen, down 1.9 percent.

My deepest admiration for this gentleman who took a stand against the powers that be. I foresee others who will follow his brave action. I seriously believe we all have been through this “cycle”/”cycles” before. Within each heart there is a remembrance (Genetic Memory) of the former things and ironically the remembrance of the things to come. (Please – I plead with everyone to just listen to what I have to say. I know it sounds crazy but I assure you it’s not.) Militant and engineering methods are of no more use here. If fission and nuclear chain reactions are now occurring, is there any physical way to “stop” it with concrete, boron, liquid nitrogen injections? If the latest radiation levels being emitted are correct – I think the chance to stop it has passed. In every “cycle” we have always been forced to face our greatest collective fear. I believe in this cycle it has assumed the form of the hellish, poisonous, unimaginable, Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant. This is no time to argue with or become combatant with each other. I feel this is the last “cycle” – the “curtain call”, the “last round”. Let us take each other’s hand, and face this “Hellhole” with our hearts and minds together as one. It’s okay to be scared but LET US USE THE POWER OF OUR FEAR INSTEAD OF THE POWER OF OUR FEAR USING US! This is the reason many of us are here at this specific time in history – how many of you have been ridiculed and shunned for somehow “knowing” this was coming? How many of you have had vivid dreams of this exact time? (I realize I may sound crazy – but I am only asking you to think about what I am saying. Ponder these things and if you don’t agree it’s fine. I am not forcing my perspective or beliefs on anyone.)If you know what I’m talking about and it has struck a chord deep in your heart – please let me know. Our hearts united in love is our only hope to stand against this seemingly unstoppable monster and the powers that be who are allowing it to continue poisoning the entire planet. The “powers that be” only want one thing – more power. This power comes in the form of money. We have seen their blatant disregard for human life for over six weeks now. They seek to divide us so we will quarrel with each other and cause them no problems at all. How many people feel the same way I do?

They went,…and guess what? They are both home sick today,..because of “the allergens outside,…all the yellow pollen”. They sound like they are coughing up a lung!

I CANNOT BELIEVE IT – a month and a half has passed since the double natural disaster in Japan crippled the Fukushima nuclear power plant, and NOBODY has even seen what exactly has happened to the fuel rods – there have been just SPECULATIONS AND GUESSES as to what is going oN inside the reactor cores.
There is no excuse for having waited over a month to get robots on the job. Any right thinking TEPCO official should have had robots on site by at least the second day. I remember reading reports discussing the possibility of using robots and I was shocked and bewildered at the vast amount of time that went by between the US’ and France’s offers to supply robots specially designed for use in nuclear reactors and the time when the first 2 robots were actually sent in for the first look.
I have totally lost confidence with TEPCO and the Japanese government to solve this World-Wide Crisis. I call it world-wide, because as I sit here in Vancouver, BC Canada, I know that I have probably been exposed to more radiation in the last month than I probably get exposed to several years combined. If scientists and researchers are able to detect the radiation from Fukushima in our air, milk, etc, then I have to have been exposed to more radiation than I would normally be subjected to in a year and I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE FROM RADIATION.
I have lost all respect for the Japanese government for putting on blinders and refusing to enlarge the exclusion/evacuation zone around the facility, and making matters worse by simply raising the legal limits for acceptable radiation levels for it’s people to be exposed to and eat. This shows a complete lack of regard for their own citizens’ safety.
My prayers go out to all those brave workers who have been working tirelessly to try and fix the nuclear disaster going on in Fukushima. I really hope that if I was there, that I would be able to do what they are doing for our future generations. I firmly believe that all those workers should have all their debts paid off and that they should recieve the highest compensations for their selfless heroics (I mean more than the 2500-5000 yen per day I heard rumoured that many are getting – I think that they and their families should be well taken care of for the rest of their lives). They are fighting the biggest war that our world has ever seen up to this point… and who knows, it could be the last war that many of them ever fight… and the unbelievable thing is is that they all know it to… that is what makes them all even more special and deserving.
I heard (I realize that I may be wrong) that despite all the nuclear power plants on earth, that no one has actually done an experiment to see what would actually happen in a full-fledged meltdown… ARE THOSE IN CHARGE ABSOLUTELY CRAZY? How could something as powerful as nuclear energy have been taken for granted… Did all the nuclear agencies, scientists and governments truly believe that there would never be a nuclear accident… what about after 3 mile island and chernobyl… wasn’t it a good idea at least after those to nuclear incidents/accidents to look into nuclear safety issues.
Humans are such fools… we will be masters of our own downfall.
At the very least, all nuclear power plants that do not meet today’s earthquake standards and other natural and man-made disaster should be shut down. All nuclear power plants should be re-inspected and any that have any type of issue at all should be shut down for good. You cannot take a chance with nuclear reactors, obviously. Somebody should be accountable for the Fukushima incident, because somebody up there in rank (whose job it is to think of these types of things) should have forseen the possibility of the generators being covered up with water during a tsunami, considering Japan has so many earthquakes and tsunamis are par for the course in earthquake ravaged countries. It should have been a given that the power generators should have been high above sea level.
It is time for all the world leaders and scientists to get together and work on Fukushima as a team… all the great minds should work together to solve this crisis. TEPCO and the Japanese government need to stop pretending that they know what they are doing (I am not impressed with the “strategy” or “road map” that TEPCO has planned for the next 6-9 months. I firmly believe that TEPCO is in WAY OVER THEIR HEADS… they won’t be any closer to stopping the radiation in another month as they are today… and I doubt that in another month that they will even be able to say that they are certain of the state of the reactors… NOTHING CAN BE BEGIN TO BE SOLVED UNTIL THEY KNOW WHAT STATE THE FUEL RODS ARE IN… AND EVEN THEN, WHAT THEN… I TAKE IT THAT USING A CONCRETE TOMB IS OUT OF THE QUESTION AT THIS STAGE? I understand that they are concerned about the fuel getting into contact with the ground water… that it would cause massive steam explosions… the whole thing is overwhelming… GOD PLEASE HELP US STUPID HUMANS GET OUT OF THIS ONE!!!!
