Tepco Adviser Expects More Issues at Fukushima

Dale Klein, Chairman of Tepco advisory panel and former head of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission:

The Prime Minister [claiming the Fukushima plant is under control during his speech to the Internatiional Olympic Committee] was correct — if he was talking about the current tank that was initially leaking. That issue is under control, but there is much work yet to be done at Fukushima Daiichi. It will contain a lot of people’s time and effort for the next many years for the cleanup to be occurring.

There will be future surprises though, so I think everyone should expect that there will be other leaks, other problems, other challenges.  […]

they use word cleanup, but we know the cleanup is inpossible

"It will contain a lot of people’s time and effort for the next many years for the cleanup to be occurring."
Replace the word "cleanup" with "coverup" and the statement will be factual.

I can't help but admire the spin: The PM was correct blah blah the issue is under control blah blah but we're all in for a lovely surprise blah blah.

Isn't it wonderful that such a loyal person is in charge of the Doomsday advisory panel?

  • I guess money really does talk.

I wonder just how much he was paid to say that what PM ABE touted about Fukushima being 'under control' was correct.

(I would say that is stretching the truth or bending reality depending on how one looks at it.)

"Sometimes people's imagination is worse than reality."
    – Klein (at 1:10)

(Sometimes people are in denial and will do 'anything' to protect the Nuclear Industry.)

"…for the next MANY YEARS for the cleanup to [a] be occurring…"
    – Klein

(Seems a little vague to me. Later he says 20 years like he's pulling a number out of a hat. Mr. Klein probably won't even be alive in 20 years, so his misleading BS today won't matter… to him.)

When asked about the radioactive contamination into the ocean he talks about cesium entering the soil. Skips right over that direct question.

Somebody get me a shovel, this stuff is getting deep.

The only "future surprises' will be the unforeseen consequences of the psychopaths' who foisted this madness on the planet.

Scientists, environmentalists, physicians, and other informed people have long predicted the biological consequences and the fate of humanity in pursuing this earth destroying technology.

    "Future surprises"?
This spoken by an industry that needs to deal in exactness.
Are we to wait in 'giddy terror'?
Surely TEPCO has an hypothesis concerning on-going conditions.

Surprises?..what's left?.. wait to see which area fails first.

What a bullshit apology by Klein for the lies of Dishonest Abe: (paraphrase: the tank is no longer leaking and that was what Abe meant to say to the Olympic Committee).

By that illogic: "We have surgically removed the thyroids of 20 Fukushima children so that problem is under control".

Extending that twisted bureaucratic thinking into the near future we can expect more than just surprises from the crippled nuclear complex.

Evacuation orders for central Japan including relocating 38 million Tokyo residents won't even be a surprise when it happens. Just the natural progression of a calamity that they can't stop.

The greatest ecological danger that has bestruck mankind since the last ice age.

And central Japan is the epicenter of this manmade disaster…

"future surprises…everyone should expect that." Translation: We have a lot of other hidden emergencies that we haven't told anyone about. As soon as we can't keep those hidden any longer we'll come out with a press release. Expect to hear about it because it's already happening."

  • Any nuclear folks out there? I think .jp would settle for Fukushima being wiped off the map – what would Neutron bunker buster Bombs do to MOX… If there was an instant way of breaking down the fission products..

You always find the surprises at the bottom of the cracker jacks boxes…

I swear you read my mind. I was about to post those exact words (about Cracker Jacks). I was just now checking to see before I posted. I already found a surprise.

Usually I check this site two or three times a day to see the new stories. Now I see that bad news is coming so fast that I missed 3 or 4 in one day.

Good thing I clicked on "more" news about Japan. There was a surprise in the bottom of the box!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas…
