Group asks residents to keep odor, health log
[...]the Louisiana Environmental Action Network, a Baton Rouge environmental group, has asked Bayou Corne-area residents to log odors and any health symptoms that they feel as a result of the odors.
[...]
LEAN group is concerned about the cumulative impact of all the chemicals in air together over time and developed the odor and symptom log as a way to track it, according to Wilma Subra, an environmental chemist who provides technical assistance to LEAN.
She said residents have already reported headaches and respiratory problems.

Texas Brine also announced it would start its own voluntary air monitoring of homes within five miles of the sinkhole site.
Texas Brine has hired Sage Environmental Services. Monitoring will be conducted twice a week with hand-held devices on public roads in front of each residence, Texas Brine officials said.

When do they discuss the tipping point for all. That is what tptb risk for the entire world. Is it so difficult for them to understand what they have done?

They fully understand. They just don't care.
Now that the human race is on a short timeline to extinction, they are going to care even less. Buckle up.

Welcome to Earth, third rock from the sun.
Once a formerly hospitable planet conducive to carbon form life, in the past 70 years much ot it has evolved into a toxic waste dump suitable for slugs and bacteria.
We under the age of 70 who never remember any clean air existing on earth now begin our weary journey through a land of Future Shock.
Naked apes…the most deadly and vicious life form on earth once again proves there is no taboo they will not break, no water they will not despoil, and no reason to think they will ever change.

@SP…Sad but true! Nevertheless, I continue, with what little energy I have left, to try to work to change those who do not see. And I will continue to do so until I am indeed gravely grave in grave. Won't be long: I'm 79+ now.

I'm 71 and they say you have to be my age to know what it is like to have no sound from radar and microwaves and TV and other broadcast waves, etc. I can hear them singing away. But it used to be very quiet. When I was 6 we lived on a farm in Arkansas for a year with no electricity and no running water. After we moved away, I always remembered that year as an idyllic one. I'll never forget all the many daffodils down by the creek. On my honeymoon we visited my husband's cousin on a farm in Saskatchewan. She had grown children, but looked so young.
There are communities in Europe where the people live away from all electricity because of the harmful effects to which they are very sensitive.
Splitting the atom truly destroyed the world.

Industrialization is wrecking everything ..ruining mother nature. And life. We can reverse the trend though. The trend must be reversed.

TheBigPicture,
the people who wreck this place for greed don't fill up the jails..

JmA…Most of those who fill the jails are the victims of the greed, not the creators of it; although many lack knowledge of where they fit in this catastrophic hierarchy.
Report Comment
Dharma, the greedy ones run the jails and the system that fills them and even throws shares of privatized jails on wall street..
''business as usual''..

They should leave the area near this sinkhole. There are pesticide grade chemicals in it as well as a spicy blend of radiation that has been brewing inside the earth's crust for decades. The sinkhole will spew gas, radiation, and love bubbles until the surrounding swamp becomes a dead zone. An entire ecosystem and communities are being moved around by the oil and gas industry. It's a sick reality the oil industry is destroying our citizens lively hood. And they took the twinkies off the shelf because they were "Bad for you". This message is FDA approved by Exxon Mobil.

Agree Grampybone, they should also have help with relocating. People are leaving their homes, their jobs, and by leaving their job they might loose their eligibility for their retirement benefits.

Sinkhole radiation 15 times over limit, residents urged to record health signs …the state reported its findings of radium-226 and radium-228 as "below acceptable levels," when in fact, the results were 15 times higher than the state’s own standard for soil contamination…
…Worst nightmare coming true,' says attorney
If the butane in the sinkhole vicinity exploded, it would meet, according to the National Terror Alert, the definition of a dirty bomb.
