The bigger breakwater will also be a better containment pool for holding the contaminants as the nukeplant sizzles in the surf.

This is almost funny, warning to anyone in boats in fukushima area, govt doesn't want anyone to get killed by a tsunami! Lol, (as if the radiation doesn't kill you first if you're that close to the NPP)… sorry, I am in a bad mood today and could help being sarcastic.

HoTaters – I found one for you and it includes bananas!
          http://www.lajollalight.com/2014/07/08/waves-for-worry-scientists-weigh-in-on-status-of-radioactive-waters-from-fukushima/

Professor Kai Vetter of UC Berkeley’s Nuclear Engineering Department has been monitoring radiation levels in the air and rainwater around Berkeley as well as in soil, milk, cheeses and animal feed from nearby farms since the onset of the disaster in 2011.

With numerous sources of daily radiation in the natural environment already, Vetter expects the concentration of radiation in the tainted Pacific Ocean waters to be 1,000 to 10,000 times less than the radioactive isotope (Potassium-40) found in kelp or bananas.

“People don’t understand nuclear radiation and the impact,” said Vetter. “Everyone is really scared of it even though it’s part of the world we’re living in. The bottom line is the concentration we expect to see here in the ocean water in California is extremely small. It should not pose any health risk on swimmers, divers, people on the beach.”

Then what about the health of all the dead and dying fish, birds, dolphins, whales, starfish, sea lions Fukushima radiation has effected!

          • HoTaters HoTaters

califnative re: Kai Vetter, Oh, PULLEEZ!

The main reason radiation is such a big part of the world we're living in is because of the thought processes and dead reptilian brains (meaning literally the human "reptilian" brain) of people like Kai Vetter.

            • HoTaters HoTaters

All those dying critters must have just eaten too many bananas. Those darned bananas, they're just wrecking everything.

        • dharmasyd dharmasyd

Yep HoTaters…We've got nothing to worry about if we just stay calm and have no fear. It's the fear that will make you sick. So I'm just gonna take the family out for a nice salmon and sushi dinner with mushrooms and rice wine.

          • HoTaters HoTaters

It gets me bent out of shape, but I agree, fear is not helpful at all. A smart doctor who's treating me constantly reminds me to be in the present moment, and not to spend my life, time, and thought focused too much on the past or future. For me are, truly, only in the moment.

            • HoTaters HoTaters

That is not to say one should not be concerned about the observed reality around us. I have to agree fear can make us sick … along with all that bioaccumulation.

RE: Kai Vetter. Kai In Japanese has a number of meanings, including "ocean" (海), "shell" (貝), "restoration" and "recovery.

A vetter is be someone who "vets." From dictionary:
a : to subject to usually expert appraisal or correction <vet a manuscript>
b : to evaluate for possible approval or acceptance <vet the candidates for a position>
          — vet·ter noun

          Examples of VET

They vetted her thoroughly before offering her the job.
The book was vetted by several different editors.
He's already vetted the plan, so we can start right away.

Interesting name…whether like Al[l] CIA[!] Da[h!] …or not, names associated with life's work are interesting… Like the surgeon named Dr. knifus…or was it Kniphus…can't remember now…but you get the point.

So is he real or is he memorex? Is he vetting information for approval and acceptance regarding ocean effects of Fukushima? Well, yes, he is.

yes, CME'S. If one looks back and checks out the proceeding couple of days prior to an earthquake, one can see a co-relation with spaceweather. Mind you that may have already given some scientists ideas i.e. for bombs to shoot at asteroids, meteors and CME'S etc. After all, what happened to Comet Elenin? How many practice runs could there have been? And how many people if they knew, would applaud?

Not content with destroying the earth, man in pursuit of self preservation, would be prepared to jeopardize other life in the universe. But for every action, there is a reaction.

      • dharmasyd dharmasyd

Agree @Angela_R. In man's attempt to evolve and escape death, we have indeed created DEATH WRIT LARGE ACROSS THE PLANET, not realizing that evolution now mandates that humans must evolve in consciousness and wisdom to match (or at least approximate) the level of evolution of our technology.

We must recognize this mandate and grow accordingly if we are to survive. At this point, however, it does not look good for the home team.

        • Angela_R

Hi dharmasyd, Actually individual consciousness, to my mind, separates us, though that separation can initially lead to growth. With Collective consciousness, we would have to expand, i.e. be part of and in step with, the Whole Universe. But at present, when conscious, man appears to be only capable of dwelling on one issue, pulling it away, separating it from the Whole. His, imo, is tunnel vision; he is myopic.

There are two of 'me', the one that can deliberate, ponder, weigh up, and the other that grasps life spontaneously, that is in step with that Universe and reacts to, and with it. The first is governed by doubt, the other 'lives.'

If the earth departs, that spontaneous energy can still live if connected to the Whole; it is what Melting Mermaid quoted, i.e. Luminous Energy and it can exist in a Spirit Body. An Energy Field that can be, at times, very bright around certain people. (The old depiction of the 'halo' drew attention to this Energy.)

However, it will not be fulfilled via the concept of the Holograph of '2045'.

Obvious, your comment brings to mind the movie "2012" which I viewed a number of times. Yellowstone "blew" about the same time as great quake activity in Southern CA. In one scene taken in Yellowstone, that was later clipped out of the movie, the main guy found a leaflet with a title that read something like,"Instructions for Survival Underground".

Sad events in Israel now make me think that the destruction of Damascus, Syria may be just around the corner, Isaiah 17:1. The next "Blood Moon" is on Succoth, full moon this October.

She won't engage the Health Physics community because she is afraid we will expose her as a quack with regard to low dose effects.

They sure haven't been using time to meet the needs their govt. contract to operate & maintain RadNet equipment, even when the lab shared with the veterinary clinic's available to fix broken radiation monitoring equipment they must be too busy with the other govt. assignments including Dr.'ing results, losing documents & interdepartmental memos to do an honest days work that had a chance of restoring the EPA's credibility enough to allow trusting with our lives again in this lifetime!wut a MFer indeed! ;(…

Is radioactive fallout amongst the most poisonous stuff known? It seems that if it "gets into the wrong hands", everyone is up in arms, ready to invade, lock down and kill if necessary.

Reputable studies show that very low levels in the environment bio-accumulate to dangerous levels in living organisms.

Professor Yuri Bandazhevsky discovered that children contaminated with cesium-137 of 50 becquerels per kilogram of body weight caused irreversible heart damage in a child. 200 Bq/kg in a pregnant woman can result in fetal death according to the Belarus studies. The OFFICIAL word in Belarus is that 80% of the population is sick from radiation.

In my pristine world, Moe Foe stands for muthahFuckah. Is that the type of person that ignores the photos of deformed children in Belarus, ignores the studies, ignores the common sense, ignores the fact that three or four nuke power plants in Japan are melted through, forever contaminating the water and land, causing >>PROVEN<< death to animals in the vicinity, and by extension, far out to sea and land….yeah, I guess the name fits quite well….you Moe Foe.

NBO & Code' I love the way both of your minds work and how the inner workings are projected here as good people with souls. The typical 'NEWSER persona & mindset allows our side to recognize shit when we see/smell shit because for starters when some MFer strolls in with witty short stories & one-liners that sound like it came right off of the propaganda posters & slogans in the offices & halls of any of Big Nuke's facilities including their cheerleading crews from any/all agencies, etc. beholden to foul corporate benefactors over the public who either chose or "allow" it to exist & continue(for now)[?]! I gotta admit that my blood was boiling for a moment before I checked myself and found that I might have a chance to make an event focused on the harm nukes represent and I believe HR 1146[?] is on the agenda July 17th in Chicago so I'm going to shift my time & energy into making arrangements to go & bring friends with so they can see what their taxes and votes results in for themselves!! My wife's test results were BAD,but when I got back here to where I feel mostly safe & among friends or neutral, concerned visitors finally finding their way to the resource offering the closest version of reality but today a MFer chooses to preemptively attack and now it's safe to say we've "turned the 1st key",and now it's up to the Duty Officer to turn the 2nd & final key while pushing the button that sends nuketards into space, maybe back to their home planet?! 😉 Take Care…

Moe Foe…I have it that 28,000,000,000 Overdoses of plutonium have already been released. Where did it go? Will it have an inevitable deathly effect on life on earth? You want to argue the points…be contentious? The problem with people of your ilk is that you cant grasp that poison poisons things. In this case, vast quantities of it…enough to kill four hundred earths worth of people. A child of ten can grasp that even if its not PROVEN by some published paper that this toxic fallout will kill millions, that doesnt mean it WONT kill them. Thats what poison does. But you know what? Moe Foes are not up to the common sense level of 10 year old's….it appears. But, as the strontium in my teeth is a witness, if you can properly refute the toxicology, you have an audience…

FUKUSHIMA NUCLEAR PLANT DISASTER "IS NOT OVER AND WILL NEVER END," DR. HELEN CALDICOTT WARNS

                Friday, July 11, 2014
                By Sherwood Ross
“’The Fukushima nuclear plant meltdown disaster ‘is not over and will never end,’ warns Dr. Helen Caldicott, Nobel Peace Prize nominee and holder of 21 honorary doctorate degrees.

"’Radioactive fallout which remains toxic for hundreds to thousands of years covers large areas of Japan and will never be “cleaned up,"’ asserts Dr. Caldicott, a medical doctor who has been showered with honors and awards for her long-time campaign against the dangers of nuclear power production and nuclear war.

“Instead, ‘It will induce an epidemic of cancer as people inhale the radioactive elements, eat radioactive food and drink radioactive beverages,’ the anti-nuclear authority said. ‘It is the greatest industrial accident in the Earth's history,’ she points out. Dr. Caldicott formerly taught pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and founded the Nuclear Power Research Institute of Washington, D.C.

“In 1986, she recalled, a single meltdown and explosion at Chernobyl covered 40% of the European land mass with radioactive elements…and over one million people have already perished as a direct result of this catastrophe, according to a 2009 report published by the New York Academy of Sciences.

"’This is just the tip of the iceberg, because large parts of Europe and the food grown there will remain radioactive for hundreds of years,’ Dr…

                • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar VanneV

                  Dr. Caldicott adds.

“No dose of radiation is safe, she noted. Each dose received by the body is cumulative and adds to the risk of developing malignancy or genetic disease.

“What's more, ‘Children are 10 to 20 times more vulnerable to the carcinogenic effects of radiation than adults,’ Dr. Caldicott says. ‘There are medical homes near Chernobyl full of grossly deformed children, a situation that has never been seen before in the history of medicine.’

“Early findings of thyroid cancer, thyroid cysts, and/or nodules, among Fukushima's children compared to Russian children at Chernobyl, suggests the former have almost certainly received a high dose of radioactive iodine.

“Each nuclear reactor manufactures 30 tons of deadly radioactive waste a year and there are more than 400 reactors globally. This high-level waste must be isolated from the environment for one million years—but no container lasts longer than 100 years.

"’The isotopes will inevitably leak, contaminating the food chain, inducing epidemics of cancer, leukemia, congenital deformities and genetic diseases for the rest of time,’ Dr. Caldicott points out.

"’The Japanese government is desperately trying to 'clean up' radioactive contamination but in reality all that can be done is collect it, place it in containers and transfer it to another location. It cannot be neutralized and it cannot be prevented from spreading in the future.’

“The Great Eastern Earthquake of March 11, 2011,…

                • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar VanneV

“The Great Eastern Earthquake of March 11, 2011, measuring 9.0 on the Richter scale, triggered the massive tsunami on Japan's East Coast that induced the meltdown of three of Tokyo Electric Power Co.'s(TEPCO) reactors at Fukushima within hours.

"’The radioactive contamination and fallout from nuclear power plant accidents will have medical ramifications that will never cease, because the food will continue to concentrate the radioactive elements for hundreds to thousands of years,’ Dr. Caldicott states. ‘This will induce epidemics of cancer, leukemia and genetic disease.’

“Dr. Caldicott urges that all 440 nuclear power plants around the world be closed down and replaced with alternative (solar, wind, tidal) plants and that all atomic weapons be dismantled.

Actually, the people on this site that have been here a while and have built trust within are usually more than willing to answer such broad questions as those.
It's not as if anyone wanted to know your street address!!!
If you have read any of the past conversations over the years here, you would clearly see a quite open group.
To not even want to answer a question as simple as "Were you a marine" or "Are you Japanese" is offsetting and somewhat unsettling!
I can't imagine if someone were to ask to write to you by personal email!!!
                    (I'm not; BTW)
But those of us on here that want to have more in depth chats communicate quite frequently by email and other ways.
To not open up a even just a little puts your motives for posting beliefs completely against our proven truths under scrutiny.
It's just common sense that says low rads are damaging.

The nuclear industry is extremely unscientific. That is why there are so many nuclear accidents. They know nothing about biology, so they just say anything to keep their jobs.

I read that the EPA,the National weather service and a load of other government agencies are all buying a bunch of firearms and ammo. Why are they so paranoid? Maybe because they will say that poisons poison or the sky isn't always blue? Maybe, it's because they be hiding something really twisty.

They were actually reporting the earthquake here on WBAP AM. Nothing else. Oh well. At least they said Fukishima. It is the first time they have reported anything on Fuk in along time and I hope it struck a chord with all my Redneck Bros listening , who I have been preaching too. 🙂

Clear channel buys everything up, then tries to censor or enforce certain topic choices but they can't catch everyone …especially if it's a call-in show too. The sealed spark gap assemblies contained in ignition excitors used in some older turbine/jet engines contain a very small amount of krypton-85 in order to obtain consistent ionization levels and uniform operation. The amount of radiation from the average gap is approximately the same as that of a radium-dial wrist watch but should be handled carefully.

"The study shows that krypton-85 from nuclear fission enhances air ionization and, thus, interferes with the atmospheric-electrical system and the water balance of the earth atmosphere. This is reason for concern: There are unforeseeable effects for weather and climate if the krypton-85 content of the earth atmosphere continues to rise. There may be a krypton-specific greenhouse effect and a collapse of the natural atmospheric-electrical field. In addition, human well-being may be expected to be impaired as a result of the diminished atmospheric-electrical field. There is also the risk of radiochemical actions and effects caused-by krypton-85-containing plumes in other air-borne pollutants like the latters’ transformation to aggressive oxidants. the family of noble gases that includes krypton has been traditionally regarded as chemically inert. Modern studies have revealed, however, that the more polarizable members can participate in ionic or covalent bonding, under appropriate conditions, with highly reactive elements such as flourine and oxygen and that clathrates can be formed with water and a number of organic solvents. Most of these compounts dissociate at physiological temperatures. Several authors have postulated clathrate formation involving side chains on body proteins to explain the observed narcotic effect of zenon, the most reactive noble gas, and other gases that produce similar reactions. Noble gases are highly soluble in non polar sovents, including body lipids, with solubility decreasing in order of radon, xenon, krypton, argon, neon, and helium.

Dunster and Warner warn of personnel hazards associated with handling commercial krypton supplies long before atmosphereic concentrations present a significant problem. Further, they estimate that dose to individuals in the vicinity of United Kingdom reprocessing facilities in the year 2000 is about 45 mrad/year to the skin. The dose to the skin from a cloud of Kr85 is the sum of doses from beta particles, gamma rays and Bremsstrahlung from the surrounding atmosphere and from…

Always suspicious of 10 km earthquakes because that apparently is the usual depth of HAARP-induced ones. Also suspicious of quakes ending with ".8," since it's usually the magnitude ABOVE when it hits and then the USGS recalibrates it to seem less severe. (Dutchsinse discovered that one.)

Though it is completely unclear how anyone could WANT a new earthquake at Fukushima. Isn't Fukushima supposed to be the showcase of the (never will happen) 2020 Olympics? [sarc]

Then again, Fukushima really cannot withstand a 7 magnitude earthquake. I just don't think we'll be getting any credible damage report.

There is more scientific junk emanating from these blogs than you care to admit. Its all pretty much minority report bs

MoFo, you're an incoherent piece of shit that obviously hasn't anywhere near the education you claim. You're not even a good shill or troll. Spewing your pathetic bullshit here is a waste of your time and ours. Check out before your handler lowers your pay.

He is probably someone who took the Nuclear Engineering course I took. He is probably in the nuclear industry. These people lie all the time. And when someone points out the lie they are abusive. The nuclear industry cannot exist on the truth. And all they care about is to keep their jobs and their life style.

This book describes the culture. Some people are addicted to the power. And with the nuclear industry they achieve power they could never achieve anyway else. Megalomaniacs. Of course, they would still be employed if the plants were decommissioned. But the pay would be less and they would be treated like the workers at Fukushima Daiichi in Japan. If the truth were out they would be treated as the radioactive contaminated beings they are.

                    Sparky says," Modernize” to circa 1934??? From Jerry Cuttler—your darling of the radiation-is-good- for-you” nuclear appologists–slides 3, 11 and 29: http://www.nuclearsafety.gc.ca/eng/pdfs/Presentations/Guest-Speakers/2013/20130625-Cuttler-CNSC-Fukushima-and-beneficial-effects-low-radiation.pdf

Excerpted from Cuttler’s presentation, slide 3:
                    “Main Points…Return to 1934 ICRP standard of ‘tolerance dose’ of 0.2 roentgen/day or ~ 70 rad/year.”
                    Slide 11:
“•In 1955, ICRP changed its radiation protection recommendations
                    •Rejected its 1934 standard: tolerance dose of 0.2 roentgen per day (680 mGy/year or 70 rad/y)”
                    Cuttler’s recommendation, slide 29:
                    “Raise radiation level for evacuation from 20 to 700 mSv/year (2 to 70 rad/year)”

Moe Foe also said, “…and you will have to bend over and take it up the….so lump it.”

Is that what they teach you in health physics school: how to brandish your potty mouth when your poorly constructed arguments fail, resorting to poorly constructed, mixed metaphors?

You must be a troll-in-training, or more likely, a troll-wanna-be hoping to get noticed by Cuttler and the big guys to build your post-retirement pro-nuke consultancy. Don’t count on it. You won’t be here long.

              • The med types using way too much radiation to cover their own asses and because they don't have proper research into the patients background, are maybe even worse than the pro nukers.

The problem with physicists and those who to profess to be "nuclear experts," is they incorrectly think they are qualified to assess the effects of radiation on biological organisms.

Nothing could be further from the truth, then false assurances based on fraudulent science.

Anyone interested in a frank assessment of the IRPC should look at the ECRR 2010 Recommendations of the European Committee on Radiation Risk:

                http://www.euradcom.org/2011/ecrr2010.pdf

It provides a rather unflattering view of the ICRP as an organization as well as a useful critique of the ICRP low dose models. The contributors are several dozen eminently qualified individuals on the subject of the effects of radiation on biological organisms.

ICRP model is based on reductionist physics-based arguments, which is presently used to set legislation on exposure limits and argue that low-level radiation is safe. It is not based in inductive mechanistic/epidemiological science. Such hubris and arrogance.

Enough evidence is available to show that low-level exposure to man-made radioactive material causes ill health, and that the conventional models of the ICRP and other agencies, which used the same radiation risk models, entirely fail to predict these effects.

The only reason why the existing paradigm remains is that it supports corporate nuclear profit goals. No amount of BS or propaganda will cover that up.

              • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar VanneV

Opposing nuclear technology, including medical radiation, is not an ad hominem attack. Nuclear technology has already killed millions if not a billion people worldwide. With Fukushima there is already released enough plutonium to kill every person on earth 429 times. Why risk another murderous nuclear accident?

If your family and children had died and were dying because of the meltdown at Santa Susana as mine has, as I have, then your perception might be different. Denial is one of the stages of grief. Then one must move on the acceptance and hope to make change.

As long as there is uranium mining and nuclear energy and weapons, there is no hope for life on this earth. Fukushima has brought us an ELE.

It is up to mankind to outlaw this failed and lethal technology which has already been around almost a century. This is a new century and the new, non lethal technologies are already here of solar, wind, and tidal, and geothermal. We can move on to a better, more humane future, or we can die in a dark past.

In the seventies, the medical community stopped the building of new nuclear energy plants. Their knowledge and commitment were the vision of a non-lethal future. Returning to a WWII mentality and cold war mentality of nuclear weapons and energy will kill off everything on the planet.

Of course, there is always spiritual hope which brings peace and change. I have posted many dietary hopeful remedies under my name of anne. I hope you turn away…

from the materialism of acquisition of power which is murdering all our beautiful, innocent children. It is a degenerate civilization that sacrifices the children and destroys its own sacred, God given genome. We were given Paradise on earth, but uranium mining and nuclear technology is destroying the very oxygen we need to breathe. It is the nuclear industry that is doing this, not me. Blaming me for the meltdowns at Fukushima and other nuclear accidents… The nuclear industry needs to take monetary and moral responsibility for its mistakes and to leave nuclear technology forever.

Radiation will always be with us and radiation protection professionals understand people of you ilk here. You do a great disservice to mankind spreading lies and ignorance.

              • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar VanneV

Actually anti nuclear activists have compassion for other people. That is why they are trying to ban nuclear energy. Murderes do not have compassion. People who won't recognize the horrors brought to us by Fukushima especially, but all the other nuclear accidents and nuclear waste are the ones lacking in compassion. How can you live with creating the conditions which will inevitably lead to more suffering and death and genetic disease and genetic mutation?

      • Ah typical false argument of the pronuker. Pretending that there are only two options. Conca Shill is good at that one. either you lets us fill the WIPP or you have to sit in the shite we made.

There is another option that could be at play….once a shill, always a shill, LOL

Oh nice how you worked two false arguments into one small post. pretending that Caldicott just has "one philosophy" therefore everything she says can be discounted.

Welcome back, you ready to joust, you got game?

      • or-well

MoFO, what's worse is you – an ignorant stooge for lies and false science and only semi-coherent at best, employing the very techniques you claim to decry, a patently obvious shill and troll.

      • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar VanneV

A shill is someone who is paid by an industry to spread their propaganda so that people will buy their product. Since you are receiving pay checks from the nuclear industry, you do fit this definition.

      • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar VanneV

Moe Foe, please explain how Dr. Caldicott's scientific knowledge is ignorance. And how is stopping all use of nuclear energy and nuclear weapons dangerous for the planet? Nuclear technology is extremely expensive and is destroying all our natural resources.

        • Moe Foe

Caldicott's no true scientist. Like I sais an M.D. doesnt qualify her as authoritative. You are all mesmerized by this person but I see through her lies perfectly. At the end of the day she is an antinuclear zealot and dangerous to planetary health.

Well, you know even less than her. Nuclear technology is the danger to planetary health.

It doesn't even make sense that if there were no more nuclear waste or nuclear weapons or nuclear energy that that would be a danger to planetary health.

I get so tired of people saying just the opposite of the real truth. A real obvious sign of propaganda.

          • Anti-nuclear zealots are dangerous to planetary health??

People want to believe they are making a difference but at the end of the day no one takes bloggers here seriously and they know they cant affect real change. You see stock the EPA will modernize their standard even if you get 20000 voices. Its fruitless for you to try so get used to higher radiation limits because the risk return of the current limits are not justified. You can understand that concept I dobt prescribe to the no safe radiation meme. I dont follow Caldicott's position nor Busby. Does that make me an evil monster? No. The onus is on them to validate their claims and it just comes up short in the reason dept. Good luck convincing people with real know and not just stooges of big coal.

  • Moe Foe, could you review my estimate of total inventory at Fukushima? It might be a little low because my NRC sources couldn't provide estimates for the MOX used fuel.

    Thanks for your scientific review.

PS I left off the uranium for ease of calculation

    • Moe Foe

Your sources are way off. What did you use the entire cores vaporized? Not very realistic. You want to trap me? Take your shot. I can tell you aren't a professional.

      • I know, my source terms might be low be maybe a factor of 3 up to 10. It is conservative. So far, the way things are going, all of it will be released.

What is your estimate? Surely you have time to do a quick back of the envelope calc? Looking forward to your response. big thanks

        • Moe Foe

Disagree that all of it will be released. What is your dilution model and what Pasquill category are you using?

          • Funny I was just talking to a colleague today about Reynolds numbers….unless I am wrong Pasquill deals only with air dispersion. That type of release is pretty much over for Fukushima.

Now we have the water bourne release. Isn't that obvious? Are you really a Nuke Pro? LOL

And there is no end to this water bourne release, no end in sight, regardless of the solubility it will all get out unless we get it out of the groundwater.

PS the insanity of the ice shite is not working.

            • Moe Foe

The waterborne releases are inconsequential due to the massive volume of water in the oceans. The ocean contains many many more natural uranium atoms that also undergoes spontaneous fission with its whole host of similar fission products. There is Cs from spontaneous fission of natural uranium in the oceans many times more than Fukushima

              • Not true at all. There are natural sources and they are maybe .1 to .5 Bq per M3.

This is the inventory of Fuku compared to volume of Pacific

hmmm is 270 bq/M3 more than .25 Bq/M3. Admitted, prior ocean was about 1 to 2 Bq/M3 due to bomb testing fallout.

you want to be a REAL nuke pro, stick with facts, not propaganda!

                Bq/M3
                Cs134 13.99
                Cs137 14.55
                Ba 137m 13.76
                Ce144 53.20
                Pr144 53.20
                Pm147 15.05
                Pu241 17.15
                Total of Major Isotopes 270.98

              • Do you want the spreadsheet so we can have a pro to pro discussion?

      • PS the cores are not the main source, the spent fuel is the main source. I have not taken into account the quick release of excess strontium when corium is in contact with concrete, which is now an accepted fact.

        • Moe Foe

The spent fuel remains confined to multiple barriers the fuel pellet for one then clad and also water. Much of the noble gas remains in solution as dissolved gas oh sure its conservative to include its doesnt mean it will aerosol.

          • Multiple barriers….yeah like restricted to the Pacific Ocean for now….LOL

You know I did direct measurements of boiled off salts from the waters of Hawaii….they showed obvious radiation. Not stupid high scary radiation, but obvious radiation.

You want to see the pictures and data?

        • Moe Foe

Most of the Cs and Sr will remain in close proximity of the site. Say what you want and quote bogus studies. Fukushima is not raining down deadly poisons on mankind only to make the Kevin Blanches of the world rant that their afflictions are because of this incident. At the end of the day the human race goes on.

          • How about the WIPP? I converse with Conca…he is a shill but I like him because he got game.

Did you know they got stuff in there 7 Curies for liter size? Of course they are not supposed to store liquid, so they use absorbers to get around the original requirement.

7 Curies in one liter is enough to contaminate 1 billion Costco chickens. think about that next time you buy a Costco chicken.

What say you on WIPP? Is it affecting Oak Ridge at this time?

For MoeFoe- 12 Steps:1. Admit we are powerless before the urge to lie, obfuscate, and insult people who tell the truth about nuclear power plants, nuclear weapons production, and other death making technologies
            2. We come to believe that a higher power (like the community here) might help us regain sanity

*4. Make fearless moral inventory of ourselves and honestly examine our propensity for disinformation , distraction, and lies
*5. Admitted to the community, ourselves and our associates that we deny health effects of radiation, and are Trolls
*6. Were ready to have Enenews community correct us so we could begin the courageous work of telling the truth
            7. Humbly asked our true peers to keep us on track
8.Made a list of the nuclear disasters we tried to hide and lie about, &vowed to tell the truth & reveal how dangerous they are
9.Made direct amends except when to do so would support shills and pro nukers
*10 Continued with personal inventory. When we were lying & obfuscating promptly admitted it!
*11. Sought through concentration study and practice to strengthen connection to the community, to gain wisdom and courage to spread the truth, debunk lies and make change for the better on this planet
            12. carry this message to others and practice these principals here!

Here's some late night reading from the DOE and SciTech connect: http://www.osti.gov/scitech/biblio/1067353

Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) performed analyses on samples received from Japan in April, 2011 as part of a U.S. Department of Energy effort to provide assistance to the government of Japan, following the nuclear event at Fukushima Daiichi, resulting from the earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011. Of particular concern was whether it was safe to plant rice in certain areas (prefectures) near Fukushima.

250 samples and reported approximately 500 analytical method determinations. Samples included soil from farmland surrounding the Fukushima reactors and air monitoring samples of national interest, including those collected at the U.S. Embassy and American military bases. Samples were analyzed for a wide range of radionuclides, including strontium-89, strontium-90, gamma-emitting radionuclides, and plutonium, uranium, americium and curium isotopes. Technical aspects of the rapid soil and air filter analyses will be described. The extent of radiostrontium contamination was a significant concern.
