Taiwan researcher finds radioactivity near nuclear waste storage space on Orchid Island, Taiwan News, Nov. 29, 2011 (Emphasis Added):

An Academia Sinica researcher said Tuesday he found amounts of radioactivity outside the nuclear waste storage space on Orchid Island, but in quantities lower than the legal limit. [...]

Academia Sinica Institute of Earth Sciences researcher Huh Chih-an said tests outside the facility turned up 6.5 becquerel per kilo of cobalt-60 and 32.9 becquerel per kilo of cesium-137.

The values were lower than the official limits set by the government’s Atomic Energy Council, but one still could say there had been a leak, Huh said. The official limits stand at 110 becquerel per kilo for cobalt-60 and 20.9 becquerel per kilo for cesium-137, reports said.

Huh said that from 2005 to 2008, no cobalt-60 had been found outside the Orchid Island facility, though there were already traces of cesium-137. Beginning from 2009, both types of material were found in ever increasing proportion, according to Huh’s report.

Local leaders on Orchid Island said any leak or change in radioactivity in the environment could have consequences for the local population of mostly indigenous Tao. [...]

    Points from interview with Yoshi:

—-> FARMING: Some Japanese farmers are plowing the soil so the cesium is being distributed even deeper.

—-> Some farmers have their blinders on and have adopted Japanese style of living life with blinders on.

—-> Rense says Japan is waging a nuclear war against themselves by burning radioactive waste.

—-> The world is saying nothing about Fukushima. World preoccupied with carbon which might affect London in 100 years. Priorities are wrong.

—-> IODINE-131 FOUND IN EUROPE: the first report came from NORWAY, measured in high altitude 10,000 feet jet stream! So there’s no way the radiation is from small research institute in Hungary.

—-> IAEA should hang their heads in shame. They’re “witch doctors.”

—-> Arctic Ozone Hole opened up in March and April—-caused by Fukushima radiation leakages.

—-> There are record temperatures in Scandanavia that have never happend before – due to ozone hole allowing infra-red getting thru unblocked and heating up Scandinavia.

—-> No one dared talk about all of this at climate change conference. They know it’s not carbon dioxide that’s doing this -it’s happening too fast.

—-> THE REAL CLIMATE CHANGE IS BEING CAUSED BY THE FUKUSHIMA MELTDOWNS.

—-> Record year of shark attacks because of lack of fish in polluted ocean.

—-> Coastal northern California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska are major providers to Japan of seafood. If that seafood is contaminated, you’re going to see a massive economic crisis across the coast of North America.

—-> The CRISIS is still unfolding.

This is really an amazing story about paradise lost bc of these lying scumbag nuke salesmen. And the criminals in Atomic Energy Commision wanted the final destination of the nuclear waste to be the Pacific Ocean. http://www10.antenna.nl/wise/index.html?http://www10.antenna.nl/wise/387-8/orchid.html

Great! I can’t believe they put a nuclear storage space on such a pristine island.. Good to know though.. I’m not going there anymore when I visit Taiwan.. Check the picturesque beauty of the place: http://www.travelsinasia.com/Taiwan/Lanyu.html … Good job on endangering indigenous people and a pristine natural paradise!

For a bit of anthropology and what happened to the indigenous people of Orchid Island, check this excellent article. They were a peaceful people who were against the use of force: http://www.taiwandc.org/twcom/67-no8.htm

Not only was their forest and taro plantation decimated, their women were raped by servicemen guarding the penitentiary the Taiwanese built on their taro plantation. And now to add insult to injury, they made it a nuclear dump site with 300,000 barrels of which 10% are leaking! And some of the leaking waste is dumped in the ocean. Good job!
