        Indeed. Hell, we have practice reaping what we are sowing. Atomic testing in our own back yard, etc. I’m proud of Germany for going WTF and doing a 180 on nuclear energy after witnessing what is going down in Fukushima. Kudos to them. Das es Gut, ya?

          most people didn’t know how dangerous radiation and nuclear plants are. now they know and I hope at least Japan becomes a uranium/plutonium power plants free nation.

    since yesterday, there is so much smoke/steam in the sourroundings, maybe the corium already hit the groundwater table ? This never happened before, so how could we know how it looks like ?

    May 11, 2011 (San Diego’s East County) – Several of our readers have asked for updates on the crisis at the Fukushima, Japan nuclear reactors. I expected that since the story seems to have fallen off the radar of most major media, the situation might have stabilized.

    The truth is quite the opposite. The best site I found with reliable updates is Energy News, a site dedicated to reporting the Fukushima crisis with links to top news stories and videos from reputable news agencies worldwide. High radiation levels have been found consistently outside the official exclusion zone. Yesterday’s headlines alone make clear that a resolution is nowhere in site:

    • Fukushima collapse looms? Fukushima No. 4 leaning (Russian Times)
    • Highest yet: Iodine-131 in No. 3 spent fuel pool at over 1,000,000 times normal – “Generated during nuclear fission” (NHK)
    • Dutch authorities seize 5 containers after hazardous radiation exceeded permissible levels (Kyodo)
    • TEPCO: Reactor No. 3 Temperature rising: pumping water to cool reactor may be insufficient (NHK)

        Yes excellent job so far admin, also a courageous effort. I’ve been checking in daily from the relative safety of Australia (is anywhere safe ultimately?) and so far had nothing to add, in consideration of the immediate concerns of your US visitors.

        While it seems little can be done at this level, a wider appreciation is never a bad thing, and it’s probably vital for the sanity of the ‘enlightened few’ to have access to their own community, considering how the knowledge of this leaves everyone feeling so isolated.

        So once again, excellent job. Keep up the good work chum, no telling what impact you might have on the outcome – might be quite significant.
