Living a new post-311 lifestyle
I-131 in rainfall problem
The rising radioactive steam/smoke is carrying I-131 particles/gasses into the atmosphere above Fukushima. Prevailing winds and the jet stream rapidly spread, in manner of days, I-131 across the Northern Hemisphere. The I-131 falls in different concentrations, depending of variables such as weather and geography.
For those readers of this site who are living within the Northern Hemisphere I-131 should be a concern. Radioactive iodine can and will find its way into ground, river and catchment water. It’s presence has been confirmed by both independent and gov testing labs.
The properties of I-131
I-131 is problematic in the home environment. When home surfaces are exposed to radioactive water, from rain or tap, the I-131 will cling tightly to the surfaces it contacts. Washing alone will not dislodge I-131 from the surfaces that I-131 bonds to. It is very “sticky” isotope.
I-131 will cling to your car, shoes, your hands, kitchen sinks, toilet bowls, counter tops, etc. Develop the practice of having a outside set of shoes and a inside set of shoes. Do not mix them. If you must bring them inside, bag them in a plastic bag then store. Avoid waking into the house in shoes you have worn outside. Develop the Japanese practice of leaving your outdoor footwear outside the door, but sheltered, unexposed to falling rain or snow.
I recommend using a chelation agent to combine with the I-131 that it maybe safely cleansed from contaminated surfaces and skin.
Nothing works better as a chelation agent than “Bind-It”. It is used in clinical environments that must handle I-131, therapeutically or pharmaceutically or experimentally. Bind-It works well to regularly clean/decontaminate, for example your food preparatory area, cutting board, knives and sink which may be exposed to radioactive tap water. Or skin, after exposure to radioactive rainfall.
Mrs. Noah and I are comforted knowing that we have the ability to decontaminate our vehicles, especially the door handles after driving though the rain.
Bind-it comes in various forms for a wide variety of applications and uses.
You may find it at:

Dear Japan :
Drop LIQUID NITROGEN & DRY ICE CO2
on your goddamned nuclear reactors
NOW, already, please, thank you.
Why ? Shock cooling — Smothering — Formation of solid nitrides, nitrates, carbonates, &c… Duhhh…
It worked @ Chernobyl — What … They didn’t tell you ? ( Channel 4-TV, San Francisco, 6 O’Clock News, Day 5 — Emergency Message from silly me via Lawrence Livermore Laboratory HQ @ Berkeley : ” We recommend that you drop a refrigerant on it. ” — The Russians used Dry Ice ~ 12 hours later ) … Perhaps you thought boron & sand did the job ? Boron dumped haphazardly on the surface merely absorbs some radiation like a bandage — it does not prevent a deep meltdown to critical mass … Nitrogen embrittlement will help the nitrogen and CO2 penetrate and break up potential critical mass … What evaporates will be replaced w/ fresh N2 & Dry Ice ( generously supplied by China, Russia, USA ) … And they can get valuable Carbon Credits for the Dry Ice …
Ask “Red” Adair : He used liquid nitrogen to extinguish oil well fires in Kuwait ( Pop. Sci., Jan 1991 ) …
Still can’t figure it out ? Don’t be embarrassed : you’re merely over-educated beyond your ability to think, now paralyzed with fear and desperation …

They tried nitrogen already. It failed due to breeched containment pressure. The nitrogen didn’t hold.

They’re looking for a sticky concrete resin as prior attempts wouldn’t harden due to water. The ton weight of materials required for entombment aren’t available in Japan – yet. They’re thinking a temporary tenting may be a short term bridge to reduce open air release currently while they work on the longer term sarcophagus avenue.

I’d agree, except they aren’t disclosing Fukushima. News is hard to find and it’s all, “Move along, nothing to ingest internally here and bananas…” They aren’t testing. The safety claims are not applicable to biology and health sciences – only morbidly high threshold cancers under 200 ton loads for short duration and profit convenience. There is something to see here. We aren’t actuated energy potential reactors – we’re humans. Chronic low dose ingested radionuclides by multiple pathways are higher risk than short-term external gamma sources, however inconvenient that reality is to various industry profits. High risk, pregnant and children most – as happened after Chernobyl in US affected live births. It’s real. They aren’t saying it. The Precaution Principle is expensive economically.

High-risk aggregate population groups include:
Infants, expectant mothers and their unborn, children, females, elderly, immuno-supressed and those with prior illnesses (respiratory, cardiovascular) including but not limited to cancer, grazing animals and domestic pets.

Great points, Mothra. You are on the ball. Every time I see pregnant women these days running around without any apparent concerns, it really makes me cringe. An unborn child is exponentially more sensitive to radiation exposure than a full-grown adult. It’s pretty scary actually. And everyone needs to develop and execute a new game plan for pets and young, old, or ailing family members!! This is real.

“Because it boils so rapidly, the phase transition from liquid to gas can generate a lot of pressure very quickly. Do not enclose liquid nitrogen in a sealed container, as this may result in bursting or an explosion.”

This indoor recess, sandbox and dust warning should apply to the US children as well, since uncontained plutonium, uranium were detected. We know it can travel thousands of miles and disturbance in soil-like substances poses inhalation risk. The safety advisory surpassed “weeks” as stated, since the half-life dissipation is lengthy for plutonium (888 years to 288,000) and uranium (150+ years).

Like Mothra, I am very worried about our kids’ long term exposure to all of this low-dose ionizing radiation.
I’ve produced a powerpoint that summarizes all of the research I’ve put together so far on the effects of low-dose ionizing radiation and the situation at Fukushima.
I would like to make it available to anyone who wants to use it, or adopt from it, to pressure schools into recognizing we need to follow suggestions such as those posted by Mothra.
I know that internal emitters are the greatest risk, as opposed to external exposure. However, our air levels are variable and some days are much higher than others… Perhaps we can pressure schools to keep kids indoors on “bad” air days.
This is going to be an ongoing disaster and the EPA is not going to act!
If you leave your email at my blog I will send it to you. Unfortunately I don’t know how to post it online…

I liked your blog post!
I’ll add it’s not just fatal cancer:
“The Adult Health Study (AHS) has greatly increased in importance in recent years as a result of the accumulation of an enormous body of data from serial medical examinations, with and without superimposed radiation aspects. Particularly noteworthy is the accumulating evidence of the radiation dose related increase in non-cancer disease morbidity, such as cardiovascular disease, hyperparathyroidism, thyroid diseases, uterine myoma, chronic liver disease, and cataract … Another unexpected finding is the retrospective evidence that radiation is associated with premature menopause, and this in turn, may result in earlier onset of other conditions, such as an increase in cholesterol levels and cardiovascular disease. In addition, most recent findings suggest that diabetes mellitus increases with radiation dose among young survivors of Hiroshima.”
Therefore:
“Consequently both ICRP’s choice of a biological endpoint as fatal cancer, and its current exclusiveness, are now in question, as well as the effective dose estimates for internal radiation emitters. In such a situation the Precautionary Principle should prevail. The choice of fatal cancer as the exclusive biological endpoint after ionizing radiation exposure is not scientifically acceptable. Equally unacceptable are estimates of equivalent effectiveness made without adequate backing by scientific research.”

You can do a lot. Precaution Principle: diet, rest, exercise, hydration, hygiene. Exposure prevention. It’s more of a Martha Stewart than a John Wayne combat scenario. Think of it as a seasonal invisible flu for now, and prevent your exposures simply and affordably until they stop or reduce that beast. Advocate testing and disclosure in your own interests too. The current status quo is frankly, scientifically and ethically unacceptable.

I train with both DHS and FEMA. As a Disaster response Technician. Yes we do train for this Bio attacks Tornadoes and any other conceivable thing man can cook up like JAPAN. So we will be ready to help those that need help. I am the first one in and last one out and i do it for free. I do not like DHS or FEMA I supply myself to stand on my own. I do like all the free training I get. So yes they are doing things I have no part in. But so are the rest of all the people in the world.

I know there’s more than enough radioactive stuff at those plants to kill all of us multiple times over. And I know that some of it is finding its way over here. But I wish I had a better idea how much. And what the approximate odds are of ingesting a significant amount (most of it will probably never be ingested, even if it’s in the environment). Does the average person in the U.S. have a 1 in 3 chance of significant exposure? Or is it more like 1 in 30? Or 1 in 30,000? I’m figuring Chernobyl killed about a million so far. And probably affected something like 10 million (just a guess). And some of those affected were probably halfway around the world. But some who lived much closer, are still ok. Anyway, just thinking out loud.

Mothra-
The poster “warloc” was referring to liquid nitrogen and frozen CO2, dry ice, being used as coolants. From what I read, the earlier attempt was injecting nitrogen gas into the reactor containment vessel, not liquid N.
Whether it’s a practical idea, who knows?

Welcome to the Resistance
He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps
to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really
cooperating with it.
We will not stop until our currency is backed by a Gold & Silver standard
as the constitution requires. Our founding fathers added silver to the
mix because it made it more difficult for anyone to control the money
supply; we will not stop until we get our land back. We are pushing for
the people to use the land, restore and become defenders of the Earth.
We will not stand for tyrannical control, worthless currencies, food bans,
laws making gardening illegal, or the New World Order to win.
When will you wake up and realize that they can’t take our freedom if
you chose to use it?
You are the solution.
