Tweet 1

From the video of endoscope, SUS pipes were not so corroded but carbon pipes have gone so corroded. We are supposed to start taking out the fuel debris in 10 years from now but I bet it does not last so long.

Tweet 2

The coating of the PCV wall is also being ripped off and the wall itself is very corroded though it’s better spec than system7. It must have been such a heat. Hatch of the operation control or airlock are even thinner so I’m worried about that too. I suppose rubber packing is also damaged.

Headline should be corrected to “Japan will not last long enough to begin to remove melted fuel.”

Developments in the last 2 weeks seem to indicate Fukushima is moving into a much more deadly and unstable phase.

What a world the next generation will inherit! They will surely curse us.

    • lokay5

You’re right, ‘bear. On all mentioned.

    • rooks rooks

If Japan falls, there goes the WW economy. Thus, the non reporting.

    • WindorSolarPlease

      Hi nohobear

      Agree +100

    • Anthony Anthony

They’ll have nothing to compare it too. Even if life expectency lowers for your generation, would you spend your life obsessing on something you cannot change or do you live your life. On top of this I believe the larger reality of Fukushima is that its a giant lesson in adapt or die. In other words its like a manmade process making new kind of human; one who has resistence to radiation. Which, unfortunately is probably a necessary trait to live in the new higher radiation world. I believe with the strong opposition of the ProNukes the future will probably express almost no concern about the radiation coming from, if nothing else, from all the spent rods. The ProNukes make no appologies like we(AntiNukes) didnt get the memo.

  • Hot Tuna Hot Tuna

Why don’t they just admit that they will never be able to ‘remove’ it? Maybe their radiation-resistant future great-grandchildren could after they are assimilated by the Borg. So we got that going for us :)

  • Let’s beam the failed reactors into the center of the sun, Captain …

I can widen the transporter beam to include the melted reactor fuel under the buildings, and thus save the planet..

These Earthlings do not seem to care about what happens to their fellows, or seven future generations.

  • ZombiePlanet ZombiePlanet

    Now what’s the problem? ?

I have used PVC pipe on a regular basis to properly maintain nuclear material within my “home environment,” without any difficulty, and have, complete confidence that it will work as well in Japan!

Surly there is some form of a mistake here.

Please try it on #1. PLEASE!!

    • ZombiePlanet ZombiePlanet

I like comments by “Happy20790” who is “concern[ed]” that the “”reactor can not last””…

      “CANNOT LAST…”

Just what reactor are you referring to???

THERE IS NO REACTOR YOU IDIOT ! !

Just another “Happy” zombie, who’s number is “20790,” on the planet.

      • rooks rooks

The individual has been tweeting for months from Daiichi. Please do not berate people that are offering hints. English translations do not properly portray what he is saying.

        • Human0815

          @ rooks,

          you need to decide,
one side is our so called “censored News”
and the knowledge that every Worker need to sign a Contract with the restrictive Clause that everything happen at this Plant is a secret!

This “Happy Guy” posted since months interns
          without Tepcos knowledge?

Or we do not have a Censorship here in Japan
and the Workers can post what they like!

In my Opinion this Guy is a Troll,
and the Blogs who use his Trollings should be better use Tepco as a News Source instead of nameless Guys!

          • rooks rooks

Trust me, I have the same concern. How would “happy” tweet without TEPCO’s knowledge? I cannot fathom that unless he is working for a subcontractor on one of the top tiers. Troll or not at least his tweets in Japanese offer a hint. I agree that the blogs that use his tweets are suspect. Anyway, my point is that if someone wants to berate someone like “happy” they should complain to enenews for breaking the intended message into two or three stories. I do not get this.

            • Human0815

              @ Rooks

              He can’t be a Sub-Contractor,
he stayed already to long inside of the Logistics/ Machinery/ Accounting!

              There are only 2 possibilities:
Nr. 1 he is a Troll
(this is my personal Opinion and maybe no the Reality)

Nr. 2 he is paid by Tepco to confuse and distract us!

              • Misitu

                No, there are other possibilities.

                “Thieves fall out”.

It’s probably good value to spend a bit of time analyzing the benefits of these posts.

I agree that it is always a good troll tactic to wind up the enenews and other “scaremongers” sending us off down a blind alley of irrelevant arguments and wasting our time. So, +1 for the suspicious minds.

“I bet it won’t last 10 years” would add to the case for the responsible authorities to trim or drop the mitigation plan, on grounds of cost/benefit analysis, uprating of radiation danger, risk of collapse/explosion/criticality. amd the like. So. another +1 for the suspicious minds.

So far, trolls beat truth by 2:0 therefore.

                • Misitu

However, for me the comments do have a resonance of truth. But this is only my personal intuition. So no score there.

What motivations might exist for leakage and what channels might be “accidentally on purpose” left open? Leaks have been used under the counter for decades recently as a tool for testing the political water. They are very useful in our modern quasi-democracies where the influence of consumer, grassroots, and other pressure groups needs to be tested in advance of a serious announcement. No score on this, just setting the scene.

Remember that the authorities in Japan HAVE given out information, on a delayed basis agreed, which have confirmed the informed guesswork provided by contributors to enenews. This would allow us, as a group, to come to a consensus based on observations, as to the true state of the radioactivity at any moment, and from that derive what are the likely developments and the timescale after which Tepco etc will admit that particular status or event.

Remember also that with the Freedom of Info laws it is getting more difficult to commit some truths to recoverable media, such as emails and databases. Disaster planning by authorities in Japan, the USA, and elsewhere, can now, and SHOULD NOW, be updated in pre agreed coded messages, which could include leaks and tweets the true import of which would be unclear to the general public – which includes ourselves.

Finally, Thieves Fall Out. Where the professional liars and fraudsters are facing a real risk of public accountability, due to events overtaking them, and due to inside information indicating no way out, some of the gang, those whose consciences have only been rendered anaesthetised by corporate bullying, will be encouraged to put themselves forwards as saviours by reason of letting the public know what is really going on.

I said above “no score” but would personally submit these soft considerations as scorable items in their own right.

                  In that light,…

                  • Misitu

In that light, Trolls 2, Truth 4.

                    • Misitu

My aim is always to look a bit further, to do so with clarity in order to save us getting into circular arguments, to provoke a bit of original thought, and with a bit of hope that someone “out there” will open up and let us know a bit more of the reality in there.

                      M

I agree it’s difficult to decipher language and even written statements in english, without facial expressions, etc. Anyway, I think we should be grateful for any info we receive from these heroic workers but I respect your opinion. This is JMHO.

      • john lh john lh

+1000, Yes, no reactors in all the Fuckshima plant Daichi.

The symbolic,no logical language of Chinese and Japanese make things worse,it misleading, especially in this kind of crisis .

May be this guy is work for Tepeco, or may be he is just burn by the radiation hot particles from inside, brain and body.

    • lokay5

I think that the PVC to which they refer stands for Pressure Vessel Containment, not PolyVinylChloride.

        • takedake

          It’s written PCV twice!

          Pressure
          Containment
          Vessel

          Sheez.

As to him being a troll, he’s pointed out a lot of BS from TEPCO and revealed other problems going on that were unreported. So maybe he is, but maybe the doubters above are trolls too.

It’s a thick plot already to be sure, and there is all kinds of misinformation out there. What I would be susupicious of is not reports like his, but statements that merely cast doubt or impugn others’ honesty without anything but doubt itself or other vague reasons for “concern.” Like the posts above.

You basically can’t trust anyone in this mega-mess until they prove themselves trustworthy. So until someone can point out something substantively false in his tweets I’ll be more suspicious of his doubters than I am of him.

  • How come no one has mentioned this…

The recent video of the interior of reactor 2 shows heavy signs of atomic processes. Being that the control rods are lowered… The amount of neutron activity is a large concern in my eyes.

Control rods are employed to halt neutrons from reacting with protons. (Which creates heat decay and fission.

At this point Reactor 2 has control rods employed, with the addition of highly concentrated amounts of boron being injected into the reactor constantly. So why is fission taking place. Why is heat decay rising?

The answer is that the situation in reactor 2 is the fuel is 100% meltout. It is resting in the bottom of the primary containment. being un-moderated by all emergency systems.

With a water level of 2.5 feet. We can assume that the addition of water is impossible, and that the reactor is taking everything tepco can toss at it.

A Ticking time bomb, That will explode if not addressed; While at the same time will continue convecting its heat decay until its payload is essentially vaporized.

Reactor 2 is a run away train, Its fuel is impossible to remove because it has escaped its fuel rod. Even cooling the reactor has proven to be nearly impossible… My opinion. Reactor 2′s primary containment is on its last legs. I doubt it will last another 8 months. I also doubt that the Japanese citizens are aware or have even been contacted by their local officials as to the level of the danger that the situation clearly implies…

An insult on its own accord…

    • Tacoma

I recall that was what Dr. Kaku called it, a ticking time bomb.

      http://inthearena.blogs.cnn.com/2011/06/21/fukushima-still-a-ticking-time-bomb/

What is your assessment of #4 spent fuel pool?

Joy thinks it hasn’t collapsed yet. James2, if my memory serves correct, thinks it has or is in the process

I’ve seen inexplicable fire-like radiant pixilated heat so I believe something is burning or convecting HOT!

    • Hot Tuna Hot Tuna

Tacoma – The Japanese officials have been in constant contact with many of us here in the California prefecture. In fact they recently assured me they will be sending a team to my house to assess and abate the problem next week. Maybe if you send them a nice inquiry with your name and address they can come to help you too.

    • rooks rooks

Tacoma, it exploded on 3/21 like a dud firecracker out the vents to Tokyo. Most likely the corium is gone as most of the fuel stayed inside opposed to 1,3 & 4.

    • Human0815

      @ Tacomagroove,
      you wrote:
“Reactor 2 is a run away train, Its fuel is impossible to remove because it has escaped its fuel rod ……”

The same happened in TMI and the Fuel got removed,
maybe less than in Fukushima but it worked already once and will work a second Time :)

      • rooks rooks

I am sorry, not possible. There are no signs that the fuel is there. Reactor 2 held up the best and they can’t even figure out the temperature nor if any fuel is present.

        • labmonkeywithagun labmonkeywithagun

          Hi ya’ rooks,
Atoms is bragging about being over here again, don’t be trolled.hint, hint
But first, if fuel was in RPV with no water-nobody could get near it for the radiation. Water shields a lot of gamma and neutrons
Second-the decay heat by itself would have melted it without water to disperse the kilowatts given off fresh fuel, even now, way too early for like drycasking- would get white hot….. It’s gone straight down and probably half way to hell by now.
Back to lurking, take care and hope things “improve”….sorry, not good with words.

          • rooks rooks

            Hiya LM,

I agree, this has all gone to hell in a hand basket Nice to see you here though. My luck may turn in the next week so fingers crossed. As a friend stated “who wants to wrestle with pigs every day?” That is why Atoms doesn’t have an audience and is in a locked room with wifi for some reason. LOL.

            • labmonkeywithagun labmonkeywithagun

Think he’s trying to dominate the conversation here again too. I was actually thinking he is somebody that has done some major prison time or in a psych unit….something about him, but could be paid by the industry.
Look, we all have learned more about reactors and meltdowns then we ever wanted to know, and he is trying to tell us the exact opposite of what HAS happened. Anyway, rant off.
My fingers are crossed for you too, along with the rest of the world. But there have been 3 now in my adult life and I have a bad feeling another one might be closer then anybody thinks.
              Peace

              • takedake

Yes all these pro-nuke people are disregarding the fact there are dozens of other reactors (mostly in Japan) that are at risk of similar problems. What if just one more Japanese plant or single reactor has a meltdown?

Just the economics of it, this disaster is apt to ruin Japan’s economy.

You know what I’ve heard people in Japan say? “Japan is destroyed.” Maybe not, but who has a better sense of things, Japanese people even with all the coverups and misinformation of the don’t-worry variety, or smiley-faced nuke pushers?

If we survive very long into the future I’ll bet our descendants will wonder at us like we wonder at folks in the dark ages bleeding the sick and burning witches: “they used radioactive metals to BOIL WATER? WTF were they thinking?”

The sooner this technology, and those who support it, are left on the garbage heap of history, the better.

              • Anthony Anthony

I think you ask people like him if they know so much, whats their solution to the problem…regardless of what they say or answer, limit your question to only that. If they cant answer that there’s really little reason to engage them. You have to remember he is really a distraction and not waste your energy. Like everyone else he will change on his own terms.

        • Human0815

The Water Damp is a good sign that we have a Heat source
in nr 2, the water it self is lower than expected but this do
not mean that there is no water at all.

go to ats to read the news because i am on my stupid telephone
          and linking is complicated.

As long as the water cover the saddle as long i am not concerned anymore :)

    • Bobby1

The control rods melted when the fuel did. The radioactive silver and cadmium that is being emitted is from what used to be control rods – and now the silver is showing up in spiders and grasshoppers. That is material that used to be in the corium, now it isn’t… so we have increasing criticalities and an iodine holocaust.

    • moonshellblue moonshellblue

I wonder if they could use vitrification to sedate the corium, so to speak, similar to what was used in Chernobyl.

    • Tacomagroove,
LQQked like fission to me, still some material in the jug, not all melted through and no water on it !
Iodine and other increases of isotopes say so !

  • @Human

“Despite the heavy amount of damage to the cladding surrounding the fuel cells at “tmi”, a core meltdown, as normally considered, did not occur. There was very minimal damage to the fuel its-self.”

That is not the case with Fukushima Reactor 2…

  • Human0815

    @ Tacomagroove
    me good- you failed!

    (at least your comparison!)

    • Chelsea

This is rather aggravating. What are you, a kindergartner?

Tacoma has been right on about several things spanning before this accident (FOSL). You, on the other hand, seem to be here just to shake up a conversation.

Guaranteed, Tacoma is not a shill or a troll. You, even if you aren’t, are surely acting like it.

  • Re-analyse the footage.

The fuel melt was minimal at three mile island. The main proportions of the cladding released the fuel pellets. However the fuel pellets themselves suffered minimal damage. If you have the time view the interior of the reactors containment in both three mile island and fukushima reactor 2. The main difference you will see is the amount of fission taking place inside the primary containments. This shows that fukushima 2 has suffered a catastrophic fuel melt. meaning the pellets have combusted into a molten masse. This masse has now imbedded itsself into the cracks below the control rods and is eating away at the containment itsself. Where as three mile islands incident had a breakdown of cladding however the fuel pellets remained intact. (unmelted) and was easily recovered. Due to a low loss of cooling inside the primary containment. Very much unlike what tepco is dealing with at fukushima.

  • You can scream three mile island and chernobyl all you want; However…
” What we are dealing with now is a completely separate situation. ”

    hence: oranges to mangos.

    • Human0815

      I agree with you,
all this cases are very unique and i really hope that
they stay unique and never even happen again!

Yes TMI was different but our Techniques also got better since that remove of the Fuel!

I am very curious what they will show us soon,
according to the Road-Map Reactor 1 and Nr 3
      will also see the Endoscopy,
more curious i am about the “Instrument”
      (see Tepco Press Releases)

      • StPaulScout StPaulScout

3 is long gone, it exploded. They don’t even bother dumping water on it anymore, they know that no one would be fooled. Or will you now tell us the cooling system in 3 is still intact and operational?

        • Heart of the Rose Heart of the Rose

The is black and white enhanced of the original explosion at reactor 3.
Some percentage of 3 went airborne…and huge pieces fell to the ground.
Parts of the reactor are onsite OUTSIDE containment.
          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwNIHQvTOzs
          ….. 3 in coldshut down?…what a joke…. a sick morbid joke…

          • Heart of the Rose Heart of the Rose

..the conditions in 1…covered by a tent…there was no rebuilding of the reactor….they covered it with a tent!…ZERO containment…
….four has been going down…since the original “mystery”fire….ZERO containment.
Reactor 2…seems to have melted down with less structural damage…lots of corium…ZERO containment.

        • Misitu

Just a comment, a piece of observation, if you are a troll and need to reply in haste because that is the mode of operation * then do compose in notepad etc and check out your grammar and spelling first, the reason being that hasty composition and poor grammar and spelling are indicators of stress ** and a bit like a lie detector graph therefore.

Many internet posters have problems with typing quickly, not having good English writing skills, etc., but this is no indication of falsehood. Check out mikael for example. Rather, consistency of style, expression, and quality is the touchstone.

In contrast, when someone with a specific style drops into an inconsistent mode with what may well be a hurried response then we can switch on one of the DISTRUST lamps.

          * Shills and mercenaries have to rebut because that is the way their scoring works and how their remuneration is calculated. Letting too many comments go unchallenged is bad practice for them so they HAVE to reply even if thereby they reply with garbage, insults, generalisations.

** Stress being the result of having to get their response in quickly and not necessarily having a committed viewpoint. Having the latter is an inner strength which enables you, given other considerations, to counter repetition and BS with a variety of different challenges.

          Hope this helps.

          M.

          • selfsovereign

anything to develop critical thinking skills would help in this lie laced nuclear nightmare!

The best tool for shattering the lies that I have found is-
“Mistakes were made but not by ME ; why we justify foolish beliefs and hurtful acts.” – carol tavris

A very funny book that helps you to identify lies, circular arguments and cognitive dissonance.
This book will fine tune your bullsh!t sniffer.
Can’t say enough about the logic skills this book gives you.

Bravo, selfsovereign. I come to these comments pages in the hope of finding informed, careful thought about the topics of the moment. Most days I find some, but the ratio of noise to useful content is very high.

I keep looking for a trend here: is it getting better, worse, or staying about the same? Posts like yours encourage me that it might improve. The situation certainly warrants less noise – if ever there was a time for humanity to focus, this is it.

Here’s another suggestion for a gentle introduction to critical thinking skills: “The Little Blue Reasoning Book” by Brandon Royal, ISBN 978-1-897393-60-4

              • Misitu

Hi ai, yes, it continues to deteriorate, because nothing at all is being done to any material degree, that is to say, nothing CAN be done to reduce the ongoing release of radioactive fission products, and what IS being done (tidying the site, shoving a camera on a stick through the wall of No. 2, sending robots inside the buildings (and LOSING one of them) to any extent is nothing more than mitigation theatre for the press: as well as which the disposal of rubbish has been accepted by local authorities remote from the source site, rubbish is being incinerated in Tokyo Bay, the Forestry authorities have accepted material to be dumped in the highlands; and of course very little professional intensive medical research and treatment is happening.

Some of these failings could be fixed, and that is about the most that we could hope for.

Did I mention oceanic food chain radioconcentration? Sick seals? Did I mention the spaced out birds found in town gardens in Tokyo? The misformed flowers?

Applying whatever pressure we can, in whatever way we can contribute, is about all, saving the appearance of conscience among the leaders of nations, and the people of Japan.

@Misitu, very well said. I am run nearly OCD with writing and expression, with will to punctuate and get my grammar correct, even in basic text exchanges. It is difficult and nearly maddening. The points which you make about style and hurried exchanges is very good. Language barriers are yet another challenge in such exchanges…

            • Misitu

@truthseek; thanks, I just popped that in regarding the suggestion that we have a troll on board and, of course, identifying one means being able to take appropriate action be it ignore or something stronger.

I am tolerant of language on the internet and only poke my 2p in when the symptoms I mention appear in a post which appears hostile and unreasonably so.

Agreed but certainly some of the techniques at these other nuclear disasters can be applied for the current disaster. I still don’t understand why they can’t use vitrification of course at this juncture they do not know the exact location of the corium as it has probably found areas of least resistance in cracks and crevices and is just slowly creeping under the entire facility. Who knows.

Taco, humans mind is made up. Don’t waste your valuable time confusing him with facts. Obviously if you are correct, it has very serious consequences for folks like this who cling to delusions that are a necessary survival mechanism. We call it denial. Nothing you say will get through, sadly.

Once the mind has adopted an opinion it draws all things in to agree with it. There are obvious facts regarding the nature of the fuel that have been overlooked due to people having preconceived ideas about the status. Nuclear fuel is enriched to a higher degree than a sample of Uranium found in nature. Uranium wants to throw itself apart because of its electrostatic forces. Nuclear forces, according to Dr. Feinman work against this disruption. But, when you increase the amount of highly unstable isotopes in the mix it causes a faster burn. What we saw in Fukushima was a slow burn. There was some fast burn. (explosions) in March. Arnie Gundersen says that the fuel can turn into a substance that looks like in his words,”granola”. This suggests that when fuel leaves the fuel rod, it won’t work to throw itself apart or vaporize, disolve, discipate, or fission. There is no evidence I can see that there is any uncontained fuel that has not completely vaporized into the environment. Why does the industry need a “corium”? Perhaps corium is really just the skeletal remains of the once molten fuel, zircalloy tubes, boron, assembly racks, metals and daughter products of fission. From the second that Uranium Oxide is cast into a pellet, it begins to heat up. I can only imagine what the process is that casts this substance into a nice little pellet. But, I don’t see how the pellet could have ever been exposed to the air in the process. Perhaps it was made in an airless chamber kept at frigid temperatures. Any of you folks really think there is Uranium and Plutonium inside that corium? I may be completely wrong, and I freely admit that. I apologize to aigeezer or anyone else if my comment is not “up to snuff” and I know it won’t earn me a pulitzer prize. Now, I will throw my coat on, walk over to the door welcome mat, put my shoes on, and go to work. You’al have a good one.

        Have a great day hbjon!
Know how meaningless that sounds…but seriously have a good one.

        Good Comment!
There is so much that is not known, that to me means that thing are much worse that TEPCO is disclosing; if they had something that would put on a happy face to this Trillion Dollar Eco-Disaster they would use it! They don’t, so they are left with trying to say leaks are not leaks and meltdowns are melt-throughs, etc…

Japan is in a world of hurt right now and I believe that it could get MUCH worse at any time because of the close proximity of the ground water and or Pacific Ocean!

      • We have fission see videos of inside reactor 2 !

  • WindorSolarPlease

I am not a Nuclear Genius, but it doesn’t take one to know that this is a run away train.
They never knew how to control these monsters.

I have no idea how this will play out, but I bet it won’t be good.
So far, this is not good for any of us, how can it get better.

We have this radiation all the way into North America, people are detecting it. The officials around the world are closed mouthed.
What part of this looks good to you?

What’s around the corner for us? I think what we have now, will look like a walk in the park.

This is my gut feeling, so don’t ask for proof. We have, one to many Nuclear Plants. Not one of these should have been built.

  • jackassrig

I’m going to take a stab at this. “Saddle” I think he means the structure that supports the reactor. The reactor had a head at the bottom maybe a 2 to 1 elliptical or hemispherical. I don’t think it is flat because flat is very weak to pressure. Anyway since the head is curved it cannot be supported on the concrete floor. So a cylindrical piece of steel the same diameter as the reactor bottom is welded to just above where the head is welded to the shell of the reactor. The other end of the cylinder is bolted to the floor. This serves to support the reactor but also is a transition piece so that the heat from the reactor is not transferred to the concrete. If the saddle is of the proper length the temperature drop continues down from the reactor to the floor. Here in the States we call this a skirt. A saddle would support a tank. If you goggle this saddles and skirts for vessels will show up.

I guess when he says the water is over the saddle, the water is up to the bottom of the reactor.

The first sign of corruption of truth and whats considered as credibility is when someone starts to point fingers at others.

The notion of Trolls and divertions on personal cracteristics is one of the reasons I dont have that repect for Enenews anymore.
    Mainly in the comentary section.

I have been haield as a bigg fu.. troll all the time, and some arenas they chased away anyone that was/is in oposition to the main “streem”.
And I also know by now that I was spott on all the way, and stil its difficould to penetrate the system they created, and ended up with a conformity and a steadily building of an political/event consensus(aka: warpropaganda)
Where Al Jazeera is the worst of them all, regarding the so caled Arab spring.
AJ is even more obvios regarding Libya, Syria and now Iran.
And disregarding the fight for democracy in a wast number of other states, like Saudi, where masive manount of people is in jail and tortured.
Not a fu.. sound, but everrbody is yelling in Syria, all his have just exposed the skyhigh level of hypocracy and dobbelspeak from the western power and robberbarons, downright lies and forgerys of so caled reports.

I despise people that do from the bottom of my hart. You are the worst kind of “trolls”, plasing the deomcratic and free speach under presure because of conformity. And this is a very good way of fu..up a site and its credibility in the long run.

You have turned this site into a cult of shitt.
A endless stream of Fasbooking that drivels down any kind of seriousness in this situation, and ends up with shittshoweling.
    Namecaling and strawmans arguments.

    And you are simply boring.

    peace

I notice it gets that way when a Post stays up over night. Not all of us are on the same timezone, so I think that’s why arguments break out overnight. Enenews hasn’t changed insomuch there are great intelligent views and observations that come through in comments. There’s a wealth of information to be gained here – so for me personally, I scan over (ignore) the arguments and only focus on those who offer opinions on Fukushima ect. Don’t throw the Baby Out with the bathwater LOTS TO BE GAINED, SOME TO IGNORE. That’s my Opinion…WEALTH OF INFO by members here. The News (POST) is going to change any minute. 3,2,1

      • moonshellblue moonshellblue

Agreed, just scroll past the bickering and name calling but to each their own, I’m sure some people are dealing with personal problems which reach a state of criticality ;>) and if it helps them to vent, , so be it. This is a great site for info and links and I thank all of you for posting such. Like Whoopie said…Don’t throw

        • Whoopie Whoopie

Mikael, I hope you stay too. Fights are bound to break out now and then. I dont think anyone here is a Troll EXCEPT ATOMS. I might have brought him over here from HP but he’s easy enough to IGNORE TOO. We all must just move on and STAY FOCUSED ON JAPAN.

          • Anthony Anthony

            You did! :)

He doesn’t belong but remember the old saying of knowing one’s ememies and keeping them close. He’s a dangerous thinker but is generous in unloading the pronuke’s aresenol on these pages thus showing us what’s going on inside. I have learned more about this industry’s problem in a year and his kinda bullshit reads clear to me as bullshit now. Thats progress.

            He IS irritating tho Whoopie….
            :)

    • Anthony Anthony

You have been one of my favorite posters. You have lots to say worth listening too. Your ability to convey your feelings is significant. I’ve been called out as a shill too Mikael (omg whatta a joke!!!) …but its your message that tells your truth. Don’t let others edit your success.

Now we know where the red color in the water from the reactor 2 basement comes from.

    http://enenews.com/reactor-2-basement-filled-rust-red-colored-water-measuring-430-millisieverts-hour-surface-photo

Did Tepco forget about this water when they said that there will be 4 meters of water in the PCV…

  • CaptD CaptD

I like too many are waiting for the next “thing” to happen because TEPCO has been playing the stalling game in the hopes of securing more Gov’t. support! I keep asking myself why that is and the only real good answer is that TEPCO knows a secret that the Japanese Gov’t. cannot afford to have reveled; which is that they was some type of secret Nuke lab located at Fukushima.

Most if not all Japanese reactors are at huge risk now because of their age, their poor maintenance and their “control” by their Utilities, yet the Gov’t. has changed Leadership several times and the reactors keep operating! Japan is now being “run” by its Utilities and they do not stand a chance again Nature, which can destroy any land based nuclear reactor, any place anytime 24/7/365!

    • Whoopie Whoopie

You think so CaptD? You could very well be right.

    • StillJill StillJill

Absolutely CaptD,…there must be a secret within a secret here. Their machinations, at this point,…point to SOMETHING BIGGER,….

For me,…it FEELS like since the New Year’s ‘spike’, then again on the 6th, the 9th,…all the hurried traffic in and out,…etc, we know what we know.

Yes Whoop’s,…a very pregnant pause,…..after the crescendo.
      ‘We’ await the music.

Meanwhile,…what we CAN do,…is work on our insides, Yes? Self-soothing, nurturing, affirmations, rest, clean water, cleanest food we can find/make/share, whatever.

I have been feeling many prayers, thoughts of well wishes, and true hopes for my recovering and staying here with my friends, lately.
I think IT feels like what God will feel like.

      I love you all.

      Hi CaptD

I agree, as I said above.

What’s around the corner for us? I think what we have now, will look like a walk in the park.

  • charlie3

I agree – the Japan government and TEPCO are covering up something bigger, like a nuke lab. At this point I don’t care, just come clean and let the world do what can be done to fix the disaster, or mitigate it.

  • Cindy

    I read this, Skeptic Magazine…

    http://www.skeptic.com/

Brush up on your critical thinking !!

  • FaraFola

Tepco has lead an attention to #2, why? SFP4 and 3# with MOX are things we should be worried about. 1#,2# and 4# locally disaster and will affect strongly 100-200km, but 3# MOX and 4SFP are a true monsters.

Plutonium is a killer and SFP4 is wide open, not any shelter, nothing. Radiation will increase dramatically

  • steve from virginia

    - Tepco doesn’t know what to do, the never knew how to operate reactors. They know how to read meters and bill customers. Contractors such as Hitachi built the reactors and performed maintenance. Tepco collected the money. It would be surprising if Tepco employs a nuclear scientist.

    – Japgov is also broke, with debt to GDP ratio over 300%. Japgov definitely doesn’t know what to do except to keep Tepco people from running away.

    – Fuel cores in the 3 reactors are likely in the ground under the reactor buildings. Water is flowing onto the material but the cores are critical anyway. Iodine-131 is detected various places in Japan, months after the meltdowns. Tepco doesn’t report Xenon or Krypton isotopes b/c it doesn’t want people to know the reactors are still critical w/ chain reactions.

    – Buildings are in bad shape, can break or fail at any time. Runaway nuclear criticality cannot be excluded. In either case the problems gets much worse as Tepco slaves will run away and reactors 5 and 6 will melt down.

    – Fukushima Daini has problems too. Like all the other human-created problems the reactors will solve themselves giving the finger to the stupid humans in the process. Stupid humans will get a hard lesson in dealing with things they don’t understand and cannot shut off.
