"..She said the agency last year promised her group, an umbrella of Pacific seafood-harvesting associations, that it would test Pacific salmon and tuna returning to B.C. waters in 2012 and 2013 because those fish may have migrated close to Japan.

Burridge couldn’t be reached for comment by press time.

Meanwhile, Japan’s seafood exports to Canada seem to be growing despite Fukushima and reports that the accident kneecapped the Japanese fishing industry.

Japan exported $6.9 million of fish and crustaceans to Canada in the first four months of 2012, according to Statistics Canada, which would work out to $20.7 million per year if averaged. That would be up from $16.3 million in 2011, which itself was higher than the 2010 total of $15.4 million.

Other nations are growing more leery of Japanese seafood. In June, South Korea temporarily banned the import of 35 Japanese seafood products—such as flatfish, clams, and sea urchins—due to radiation concerns, adding to a list of 29 other Japanese seafoods that the country had banned earlier…"

    big bucks huh?

They export the fish because the Japanese middle and upper class have stopped buying local fish. The fish go everywhere there is an opportunity to sell the product. Since radiation my not show up in appearance they look for a market that skips radiation testing. Like the USA.

Pacific ocean is wrecked, thanks to nuclear energy. One ocean down, and more to go, unless we outlaw nuclear reactors.

That was interesting arclight. Here are a few random thoughts I had while reading the brochure.

I see that the brochure was published in March of 2012. How disappointing that Greenpeace did not mention the radiation from Fukushima impacting the Pacific supply of Tuna.

The impact of radiation on the tuna in the Pacific is bad timing for Greenpeace’s campaign to promote more sustainable fishing in Tuna. In an effort to work with the fishing industry did Greenpeace deliberately not mention radiation in Tuna?

Beautiful pictures. Look at all the workers from the fishing crews to those that handle and fish after they are caught that will be exposed to radiation in Tuna.

i cant believe greenpeace are going to help the "gomel" experiment.. :(
but the writing is on the wall.. no greenpeace subscription for me until they take the ongoing nuclear situation seriously.. they are currently a pr piece like Nature and the new scientist.. there are good greenpeace anti nukers out there but they are not in the uk :(

Sea Shepherd founder fears extradition to Japan, flees Germany

Sea Shepherd leader Paul Watson has skipped bail and fled from Germany, with his supporters claiming they fear he would have been extradited to Japan over Antarctic whaling protests.
Mr Watson, 61, had been detained in Germany for 70 days while Costa Rica applied for his extradition on navigation charges. He was on bail of £250,000 and was required to report to police in Frankfurt.
His flight was confirmed by Susan Hartland, administrative director of the conservation group, who said he had left Germany and was in an undisclosed location.

        • How Greenpeace Cashes In on the Suffering and Death of the Great Whales

          The Other Whaling Industry

          by Captain PAUL WATSON

Enough is enough. The Greenpeace fraud about saving the whales must be exposed. For years, I have been tolerating their pretense of action and watching them turn their ocean posing photo ops into tremendous profits from whaling… They have surrendered the Whale Sanctuary to the whalers yet the ads keep popping up and the contributions keep flowing into the Greenpeace coffers. It is incredibly frustrating to see stories about Sea Shepherd’s successful interventions against illegal Japanese whaling usually sprinkled with criticisms by Greenpeace about our methods. And right beside these articles pops up an ad asking the public to send money to support Greenpeace. Even if Sea Shepherd wanted to invest in these ads, we cannot because Greenpeace has booked all the ad space for three months.

Greenpeace makes more money from anti-whaling than Norway and Iceland combined make from whaling. In both cases, the whales die and someone profits… This is simply out and out fraud.

"..Didn't it happen to be so that the dumping of nuke waste stopped coz of Greenpeace? .."

              yes!

but did we? its all too secret to know..

are they doing anything antinuke recently apart from the great french crowd and a couple of germans maybe..? :)

the captain seems to be being fixed up like julian assange..

corporate law has taken over national law, and that is my major point here too! anyone of us can be sent to any country whose laws we might have broken.. its just a simple matter of cooking up a simple charge.. otherwise do it through a third party organisation..

i have been hard on old greenpeace but realise they might be under attack from powerful interests.. so limiting their remit like Save the Children etc..

but to give up the fight so completely… not good! imo
they probably have to juggle politics etc..

but have they become neutered ?? only allowed to do limited things?? but there are other ways of getting info out.. and im not sure greenpeace are filling that void in any way.. but if they are sneaky i may be wrong.. but no info except from admin etc..

the amazing in containment film hardly got a look by that activist network.. why??

Japan confirms it sought Watson's arrest in Germany
          CRIME JUL. 27, 2012 – 12:37AM JST ( 30 )BERLIN —
Japan had asked Germany to arrest Paul Watson, the founder of environmental group Sea Shepherd, days before he skipped bail and apparently fled the country.

The Japanese embassy in Berlin confirmed in a statement to The Associated Press on Thursday that it submitted its request to German authorities July 19.

Three days later Watson—who was free on 250,000 euro ($320,000) bail in Germany pending a separate extradition request from Costa Rica—last reported to authorities.

Watson and his group have repeatedly clashed with fishing fleets they accuse of illegally hunting whales, sharks and other endangered sea animals.

Sea Shepherd said Thursday that the 61-year-old Canadian had left Germany and was now “in an undisclosed location.”

Fish, mushrooms, rice, the list is endless isn't it?

Two other items that are regularly consumed should also be something to worry about. Tobacco is a plant with sticky trichomes, along with another frequently smoked sticky plant.

These sticky trichomes can collect airborne contaminants very easily.

There's never been a better reason to quit smoking these plants. I've done a little research and I thought I would share with those interested.

I'm getting the nicotine my body thinks it needs without all the extra garbage burning plant material provides. If you are a smoker this is a great way to go.

Checked with the supplier and there is absolutely no Japanese tobacco in the e-liquid refills these guys sell. The guys at http://www.valleyvapor.com checked and made sure that none of the products used for these devices/refills are coming from Japan.

Could be important. Japanese tobacco isn't tested as a food item, so there's no radiation limit on it. There's a TON of e-cig companies out there. This is the only one I know of that has checked. Other guys I asked just said they didn't know.

See? Aren't you glad I came here? Keeping you guys from going off on a destructive political tangent, and keeping the smokers here from inhaling plutonium particles. Glad to pay back the favor of information with more information.

      endless indeed!

i did a check earlier on a small bit of north african cannabis

24 to 56 cpm range normal background
30 to 70 cpm measuring substance

i repeated this observation a number of times and noticed an immediate increase in the click rate..
the rays penetrate paper so its a strong beta…

"Cannabis production is pervasive in Africa. It takes place in all sub-regions, with major seizures being made in North Africa (Morocco and Egypt), West Africa (Nigeria and Ghana), East Africa (Tanzania and Kenya), and Southern Africa (South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Malawi, and Zambia). "

"Cannabis is the most commonly used drug in the world. Almost 160 mn people used cannabis in 2005, equivalent to 3.8 per cent of the global population.."

talks about an possible increase in egypt etc

are they using DU powder to weigh the hash or is this as a result of bio accumulation?

wont see this reported on the msm!

my guess is contamination from the egyptian freedom war.. coming to a country like syria soon.. :(

suppose this means north african food should be of the menu too?!!
and as isreal uses DU i would avoid isreali produce..

now that was a surprise!.. and not a nice one.. :(

just confirming busbies etc findings on DU contamination..

It just boggles the mind. Makes you do a second guess on whether you should even bother taking care of yourself.

Well, I quit and I like being a non-smoker. I keep trying to tell my friends that have their medical cards in Calfornia that you don't want the Humbolt County outdoor strains any more. Ask if it's outdoor, and if it is, pass on passing it.

They said I was crazy. Well, yes. But what does that have to do with it?
