[...] Major isotopes released at levels reported by the Japanese government in June were 133Xe (1.1 × 104 PBq, 1 PBq = 1015), 131I (150 PBq), and 137Cs (13 PBq) with the estimated release of radioactive material to the atmosphere being 15% that of the Chernobyl accident. Continued analysis of this event suggests that these estimates should be increased, especially for 133Xe and 137Cs. [...]
