After Fukushima – Part 2 of 2, Disaster Awareness Preparedness and Planning/News, Views, and Alerts, Dec. 8, 2013:

(The first few minutes is an interview with Atyia Martin, Director of the Office of Public Health Preparedness at the Boston Public Health Commission)

At 6:15 in

Dr. Sherridan Ross, medical doctor, retired professor at University of California – Irvine, member of the Board of Directors at The Compton Community Organic Garden: Over here we’ve done a lot of things to make sure that our food supply has been safe, but it’s also cost us quite a bit. What we’d usually do is harvest a lot of the seaweed for places such as the Central Valley where a lot of our root crops, and also our lettuce and things come from. But because of the high concentration of radiation that’s in the seaweed, we haven’t been able to do that this year. We try to use the coast of California — initially we’d harvest tons of it, because it’s a renewable source, it’s very good, good for sucking up radiation and stuff that’s in the soil — that was our ‘out’.

We do see the radiation from Fukushima in the soils in Southern California, especially in our desert regions. For some reason we’re seeing a lot of that, more prevalent — even though it is in small amounts, it’s still there. […] That’s one of the things that’s been happening with the bioengineering of foods, to get it out of the food source. We’ve been also seeing it in small amounts in a lot of the food sources that we give to our cattle and to our chickens. So these are the things that we’ve been taking note of and things that we’ve been trying to monitor and make sure that it doesn’t get to a higher level within our food sources.

    [inaudible] = imported

Listened to it again several times with headphones on and the quote actually is:

"But because of the high concentration of radiation that’s in the seaweed, we haven’t been able to do that this year"

He initially said "that's in -uh" then restated it as "that's in the seaweed".

Jebus: That is a really good link for current events on going fallout. Even though it is possible for most countries to now sue other over nuclear fallout, the damages are capped. Or if you are Russia and the US, you don't agree to sign treaties to not use DU (depleted Uranium) weapons thus avoiding liabilities from their fallout.

Yeah, even the "organic" farms are knowingly selling radioactive food.
Fukushima effectively ended the entire west coast organic food industry, indeed, the entire farming industry. They don't want he truth getting out about fukushima poisoning California/B.C./Alaska.

    • Au Au

At least we can eat pesticide/herbicide free radiation.
      Yay!
In all seriousness though, they do put their lives on the line being out everyday in the elements and I am mindful of that.
I bet they are very upset with this nuclear accident, as are the fishermen.
      This hell hath no end.

Has anyone heard a peep out of any fishermen?

We all need low-cost, mass-produced ABG radiation monitors capable of testing food. This would be a great KickStarter project for the right person(s).

  • Agreed on the organic farming industry, which is less than is presented, organic-wise. And this is from someone who is an organic grower up until next month, when i lose my land and crops. We are getting readings of 25 to 45 CPM. Which is a lot, when you consider the EPA, NRC, DOE std for radiation was 12 CPM, 4 years ago.

All open farming is irradiated, one way or the other. Only hot-house produce is clean.

uwantsun, would you happen to know if those bags of organic greens (baby romaine, baby spinach) from Trader Joe's are grown indoors? They are such a delicate leaves and are triple washed and it seems to me that if they were grown outside they would be thrashed with all of that handling by the time they got to the grocery store.

Were in the high desert just to the east of there. And yep it's been hot. 1200 peaks some days steady for long periods indoors. Only my station to go by all beta data is down that I can find. Yikes.

Here's the acceptable limit of radiation exposure" – NONE.
Did the politicians, (bought)scientists, average citizen Joe six-pack, and anyone else with a reason to live get that?

    NONE is the acceptable limit!

    Background radiation is natural.
Nuclear plants spilling radiation all over the Globe is not natural.
I don't care what any experts say…if they are on the News then, they are bought and paid for. Figures lie and liars figure.

  • Socrates

Link was cached. Anyone know how to listen.

Anyway? Michael Collins at EnviroReporter documented very high readings last November/December from Death Valley from his windshield dust. I was out in Palm Desert right after that time.

Organic food is contaminated with radiation. I wonder when the USA is going to admit that there is a problem. Raising acceptable limits does not make food, air and water safe. Children, women and fetuses in gestation are much more vulnerable, especially by eating and drinking it. In having it is bad for everyone, especially children.

I read articles that claim levels are falling but the creation of new nuclides is ongoing. Meanwhile, we see these levels rising and no solution in sight.

The epidemiologists will soon document more morbidity and mortality. Smoking cigarettes – "nobody died." But eventually they sure did.

Industries will lie as long as possible. Here, governments and media are helping cover it up. Maybe there is not much that can be done but I would still believe that the cover up will great increase the deaths.

I am sure that of the 31,750,000 people that are slotted to die from cancer in Japan 2012 that not all of these people smoked. Add the 75% increase in cancer projected by 2030 then the 55 million that will die in Japan certainly will not all be smokers.

Sadly the entire world has been hoodwinked by the best "Ghost of Death" ever found lurking/twerking/slinking silently around the planet/globe! 🙁

Radiation Contamination in all forms! 🙁

Ask all those kids with brain tumors/other cancerous tumors in Naples, Italy how many cigars they all smoked! 🙁 None!

Socrates, what about Proposition 65 in California? Does it or can it cover the relevant isotopes? If so, every beachfront business might need a warning sign at some point, just like for establishments that allowed smoking, etc. . .

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proposition_65

You wouldn't have to show causation, just presence of the cancer causing chemical and absence of warning? Pre-emption issues? Issues getting isotope included?

Berries, almonds, tuna, sardines, some mushrooms and salmon.

So much for the Paleolithic diet!

Looks like chicken and cattle feed are getting contaminated. Meat will bioaccumulate.

When will the major media carry these stories?

  • Ontological Ontological

Socrates, I fear never. They refuse to budge from the bottom line.
Power, & greed for money rooted this evil. So far the propaganda cover ups have "preserved" the market, making it look on paper that things are fine.
When the bottom line enrages the elite, then perhaps after it is way too late; then the media will be used to point fingers and start a war to "improve" the economy, and cover for further environmental damage. I call this dysfunction. Bottom line blindness. AKA head up your A$$ syndrome.

    • Socrates

There is no way that being downwind and downstream from this disaster for three years is not going to have a cumulative effect on those living in North America. There was already numerous exposures throughout the environment from decades before.

Studies many decades ago plus recent studies indicate the damage to immunity and DNA from ionizing radiation at low doses that are continuously being produced. Cancer rates will rise.

Their are scientists who will sell their opinions and a military – industrial – media – energy consortium that will never relinquish their power base, just as President Eisenhower warned us of.

I see that climate change science is debated by forces pro and con. As these debates rage, nothing will be done. It is already so late in the game. Meanwhile, we are going to get sick and die sooner through the ravages of free radicals damaging our cells. The food we eat will bioaccumulate these radionuclides and concentrate them in our organs as our immunity weakens. Low dose but continuous exposures do this.

      • Socrates

Hopefully, through educating the public about the known effects, a change in policy will occur. It is almost a sadistic form of control that would breed such ignorance and blindness.

        • Ontological Ontological

Fast, test, and plan. Fasting limits the intake, testing limits your intake to begin with. Planning ahead 5 years like my wife and I have done. We have been in detox since the gulf spill. We think clearly and are reasonably healthy, despite many health challenges we have had and will face.
In a world full of people now becoming aware, we have been prepared all along. Were not tired, bedraggled, I have even recovered well from skull cancer, and bone removal/replacement. Hunger is your friend. Proper nutrition is everything, and this accident took that away from all of us.

Hi everyone from Enenews, I am very grateful to be able to bring you this information. I have THE SOLUTION for you. I have found a new way to PURGE HEAVY METALS LIKE URANIUM from the body and PROTECT our kids – I myself have a 4 year old and this gave me such hope and joy to discover. Check this out… There is a product called "ZEOLITE". It is an ingestible heavy metal detox and pH balancer. It has NO SIDE EFFECTS and it works. This powder will clean the toxic metals from your body. Please, for yourself, get it if you want to survive this.

    get ZEOLITE PURE or ZEOLITE-AV

it also destroys VIRUS's ability to infect you (video)

    http://youtu.be/nfc46NpJ4Y8

Created when volcanic lava meets seawater, "Zeolite" has a hollow soccer-ball shape with a negative charge. It attracts the positively charged toxic heavy metals, trapping them inside. The body cant process it so it is expelled and therefore transports the metals out.
It is the answer to purging your body from Uranium and all other toxic metals. I have to share this so I could save all of our lives. I decided to distribute this now, and so if you click my link above ( http://regalsupplements.com?AFFID=146483 ) that's all I request back for bringing you this amazing product. I'm confident it will save you from this mess we are in…

Finally, FOOD 137 TESTING our lame gov't refuses to do, will be done by Mike Adams of Natural News, for Cesium 137 and more, at his new lab site below.

How long 'our' politicized, wasteful federal agencies think they can continue to be funded, and operate through denial, lying and 'perception management', is beyond astonishment.

Maybe private testing and public revelation of the growing reality and extent of nuclear U.S. food contamination, by true Americans like Mike Adams, will bring our shameless, employment-scheme, voting-'base', agencies to their knees:

"But because of the high concentration of radiation that’s in the seaweed, we haven’t been able to [harvest] this year." –> How about a link to the lab results that prove that the higher radiation was from nuclear contamination and not from high K40 levels?

Been wondering about this since I found a seemingly significantly radioactive kelp for sale in Fukushima, and many others as well after that, and I've come to the conclusion that it is POSSIBLE that K40 is the main reason for elevated radioactivity levels in food, and perhaps not fallout, as I previously assumed. Lab results might bring clarity, we'll see.

In my blogpost "Could (natural, normal) radioactive Potassium-40 (K-40) be the main cause of elevated radiation levels in food?" I explain why I thought the high radiation was from Fukushima, and why I'm not so sure anymore: http://allegedlyapparent.wordpress.com/2014/01/09/potassium-40-food-beans-seaweed-radiation/
