Title: The Prometheus Trap / Order to Suspend Radiation Monitoring
Source: AJW by The Asahi Shimbun
Author: YUMI NAKAYAMA
Date: Feb 6, 2012
On March 31, 2011, Michio Aoyama, a 58-year-old researcher at the Meteorological Research Institute of the Japan Meteorological Agency, was attending an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conference in Monaco when he received an e-mail from Japan. [...]
As he read the message, Aoyama could not help but shake his head in incomprehension and disbelief.
“We’re discontinuing radiation monitoring? Now? But we’ve been doing it for more than half a century!” [...]
The undertaking had already set a world record as the longest of its kind, and the institute had earned the respect of many countries for it. [...]
Pandemonium broke out in the office of planning. [...]
Yasuhito Igarashi, 53, of the Atmospheric Environment and Applied Meteorology Research Department, received a phone call from a planning office staffer
“The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology informed the meteorological agency that a budgetary adjustment is necessary to cope with the nuclear accident at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant. The situation requires urgent radiation monitoring, for which the ministry has decided to use our radiation research budget …”

The magnitude of the lies about Fukushima is almost as large as the accident itself.
100% proof positive that nuclear must be eliminated. If the truth cannot be told, then it’s something that should not be done.
Report Comment
Exactly, nuke cannot stand the light of day. It is a disgrace to humanity.
An alien species visiting the earth would probably mercy kill us with a single laser blast rather than watch us slowly kill ourselves with radioactivity
Report Comment
It would be mercy killing indeed.

I could not read the entire report because your link took me elsewhere!
It stands to reason that they would only stop monitoring because they had to keep the truth from people. Same reason as here.

Admin – yes, please look at the link to the full story. It is going to a proxy site at pavsta dot com.

thanks
slowly getting things together over here

It’s working fine now, thanks. That was quick!

It’s important to not forget this:
The NRC gave control of the U.S. radiation-monitoring results to the nuclear lobbyists, the Nuclear Energy Insitute, who keep the results in a “password protected database.”
NRC MEMO:
“The purpose of this e-mail is to ensure your awareness of an agreement between the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and the NRC staff.
In summary, NEI has agreed to facilitate the collection and transmission of environmental data from operating reactor sites that is reasonably attributable to events in Japan subsequent to March 11, 2011.
Once this information has been collected and organized NEI will forward this information to the NRC staff.[...]”

NRC MEMO:
“Air sample and standing water sample results from US nuclear plant licensees have been entered into a password protected database established by the Nuclear Energy Insitute (NEI).
NRC and federal partners have access to the plant data.”

NRC! How is that pronounced? NARC?
Report Comment
Yes Mack,…on a ‘need to know’ basis. They decide ‘who needs to know’,…and you and me Mack,…Nah! The Japanese people dying? Nah!

Japan stopped monitoring, Canada stopped monitoring, and US stopped monitoring…..sometime around April of 2011…don’t remember for sure. US said something about “glitches creating bad readings”….then no more info.
Report Comment
They kept monitoring, for sure, they just stopped releasing the results.
This article from Enformable explains a lot:

Morning Mack…..Agreed. End result…no more info.
Rotten, lying fuckers, all.

Current status OVERVIEW of situation with all the reactors there? Is there such a thing? If so, someone/anyone please direct me to it. (Not that it really matters, because we know enough to know that we are WELL AND TRULY SCREWED – hoist on our own pitard, as a species.)
It is hard to keep up with. It reminds me of a very slow-motion video of something big, complicated, and mechanical (and POISONOUS) sliding over the edge of a steep slope … An inevitable and unstoppable progression of events dictated by forces totally beyond human control.
We are like little ants running around all excited and afraid when some kid or anteater is digging into their underground ant city.
When this first happened, I was devastated and fell into an emotional decline from which I haven’t emerged. Since then, there has been the usual vacillation I experience, because so often I am out there with a different/divergent analysis and interpretation of what is going on in the world; and basically lacking self-confidence, I repeatedly question & re-assess my own reactions/assessments esp. when they disagree with the majority view and the ‘experts’ – which more often than not, they do. (And never have I wanted more to have been wrong and just a ‘Chicken Little’ the sky-is-falling alarmist, which is how many view me.)
But the situation as it unfolds seems to be proving that I was ‘right on’ from ‘day one.’ This is just so big and so bad, TPTB are flying by the seat of their pants, struggling harder to control information and public opinion than they are to do the impossible and control/contain/’fix’ the totally out-of-control wrecks there at Daichi.
We really ARE being poisoned non-stop, and there really IS no way TO stop it, and the amounts of highly toxic fissionable/fissioning materials there are HUMONGOUS.
Report Comment
There are ways to stop it. They are painful and expensive, the alternatives are worse. TEPCO is a capitalist pig, routing up its home forest. Japan Gov are useless bureaucrats.
Indeed, I sounded one of the first “yes this is really big stuff” alarms. Article I wrote on Zero Hedge March 16, 2011.

“MILLIONS will die” – I’m not promoting this book, just found it by accident on rense.com website, but this caught my eye, in advertisement for the book -
“Over half of us have been marked for death due to the nuclear fallout from the Fukushima reactors in Japan in March 2011 and other nuclear reactor accidents across America. Since 1955, 382 nuclear accidents have been documented in the USA by the International Atomic Energy Agency.”
