I appreciate Anthony’s thougtful and informative post, with one caveat: Nuclear power is NOT safer and cheaper than other sources. It must be heavily subsidized to function at all, won’t work without conventional power to provide cooling, and we can’t store its waste products, some of which have half lifes that are longer than the time the human species has been on the planet. It was a scam from the beginning.

The head of the Australian Uranium Association needs his head checked.
Caldicott is right, there seems to be a pathological problem with men’s brains which prevent them from making intelligent decisions, especially when blinded by the glint of money.
Even worse, Uranium is a radiation multiplier. It magnifies surrounding radiation.

Fukushima meltdown could be template for nuclear terrorism, study says
The Fukushima meltdown showed how some nuclear plants are vulnerable to cooling-system failures. That might be of interest to Al Qaeda, which considered attacking US nuclear facilities after 9/11, a new study says.

these so caled scary men obama spends billions on in afghanistan.
will sit back in the caves of tora bora and wait for the japanese to give the world the biggest nuclear bomb in history.
but tora bora probably is bad place to hang as bush and cheney dumped 100s of depleted uranium bunker buster bombs on the place.
