An interview of Dr. Michel Fernex published August 2, 2012 translated by FRCSR:

Dr. Fernex, a professor at University of Basel in Switzerland who has visited Fukushima: I met with four physicians from Fukushima Medical University in cardiology, urology, internal medicine and ophthalmology. They all seemed unaware of conditions related to radiation contamination. They were very surprised to see young patients with myocardial infarction, diabetes and eye diseases.

[...]

Directive was given at Fukushima Medical University not to mention radiation. One young professor of ecology tried to study effects of nuclear disaster on children, but he has received threats. The majority of the faculty follow orders and they close their eyes to save their careers: this is very serious.

[...]

Thyroid diseases are already apparent, but cancers have latency, brain cancer will be seen in children in four years and later in adults. The number of babies with low birth weight increases. The number of female births down 5% because the female embryo is more vulnerable. Appearance of diseases of the newborn and Down’s syndrome is still kept secret.

More from Fernex: Genetic mutations from radiation exposure are up to 100 times higher than anything we have encountered in the animal kingdom -Dr. Fernex, Former WHO Consultant

More from today: Biologist on Mutated Butterflies: Study is overwhelming in its implications for humans -- Japan Researcher: Insects were believed to be very resistant to radiation -- Irregularly developed eyes, malformed antennae, much smaller wings (PHOTO)

Diabetes, thyroid diseases, eye diseases, and cancer of the brain is what nuclear accidents cause.

Independent WHO on TV5 (with English subtitles)

"..The real health consequences of Chernobyl and now Fukushima and of all nuclear activities have been covered up. The World Health
Organization (WHO), the international health authority, is subordinate to the nuclear lobby and has abdicated all responsibility in matters of radiation and health since it signed the WHA 12 40 Agreement (28/5/1959) with the
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This agreement prevents WHO from taking public positions which could cause prejudice to the IAEA, whose objective is the development of atomic energy in the world…"

Your link got me thinking. Last fall/winter I was more sick than I ever had been, friends and family as well. At the time I was in Spokane, Washington. I'm trying to find a chart similar to the one you posted a link to but so far this is all I'm finding on outbreaks of the flu/pneumonia in the United States. Interestingly enough but not surprising, is the West coast seems to be getting hit hard, although this map is from May. Looks like it wont' get updated again until October.

Thanks, arclight, great links! May help me to shut up couple of psycopathic pro-nukes with small children.

The pneumonia cases are even higher this year than in summer of 2011, when they were already extraordinarily high. Look at the graph:

I believe photos of infants are critical to getting this story out globally.

It was years after Chernobyl before anyone say photos and by then the incident had faded from most peoples memories. The picture slowly leaked out after 1991 and were carried by the traditional press. No www to speak of. We didn't have a graphic browser until 1993-94? I do recall it supported photos.

Things are vastly different now. The fact that we are not seeing any photos indicates how tightly controlled this story is from the maternity wards by the Japanese medical establishment and the traditional Japanese deference by patients to doctors.

I am amazed that this event hasn't blown this manipulation and control apart.

It will only take one set of angry parents with a cell phone camera to get this started or a courageous doctor.

      Dear flatsville,
'I am amazed that this event hasn't blown this manipulation and control apart.'
      Yes+++++
The good folks and wonderful Admin here at ENENews continue to relentlessly jackhammer this 24/7, especially for the welfare of innocent children.
I believe those in the medical profession will be reporting to us soon out of sincere concern for others and from the overwhelming, undeniable anguish and ire within their own hearts.
      Keep reading and sharing ENENews!
      Aloha.

    Dear Admin,
With permission, would like to post:

    Dear Folks,

'Fukushima, Precious Time Has Been Lost'

'The dosimeters that have been given to children should be replaced by mobile spectrometers which measure the whole body, and these can be transported to schools periodically. These spectrometers measure the caesium 137 load in the body. If the load is above 20 Bq/kg of body weight, contact should be made with the family to eliminate the source of contamination.'

Where had I heard this wind before
Change like this to a deeper roar?
What would it take my standing there for,
    Holding open a restive door,
Looking down hill to a frothy shore?
Summer was past and the day was past.
Sombre clouds in the west were massed.
Out on the porch's sagging floor,
Leaves got up in a coil and hissed,
Blindly struck at my knee and missed.
    Something sinister in the tone
Told me my secret must be known:
Word I was in the house alone
    Somehow must have gotten abroad,
Word I was in my life alone,
Word I had no one left but God.

      Dear Majia,
This is such a great piece. So powerful it gives me chills everytime. Despite it's melancholy, I somehow have always thought it speaks of wisdom/perspective/loss that comes with age and the personal courage it takes to keep living. So poignant and brave to capture this common, but intensly private human experience. Thank you for this.
I think of the writer going back inside, having some hot tea and awaiting the storm by himself, with God and his memories.
With regards to ENENews, it reminds me of a video I posted awhile back of an evacuated village (too much radiation) and the local priest who remains in the temple there. It was very moving.
      Aloha.
      Aloha.
