On another note: How can they claim that these symptoms are due to "fear of radiation" rather than radiation itself if these children are reporting these symptoms? Kids don't typically understand what radiation is/does. That in itself should be proof that these are not psychosomatic symptoms.

Here's the main page showing alert status for all the Alaskan volcanoes. I think this shows the code so aviators know when to avoid a certain area. Information provided on expected ash flows and clouds, along with elevation data for ash plumes.
There is a lot of good volcano infomation online. Google is not the place to go to find it, IMHO. Start with USGS or Volcano Hazards program. If you're interested in this kind of thing, there is some fascinating information on recently discovered volcanoes offshore from West Central Oregon, and another one they suspect may have formed offshore from Crescent City or somewhere southward to the Mendocino Triple Junction (offshore, north of Petrolia, CA). Studying this has been a hobby of mine for several years. Just write me at hotaters@hushmail.com and I will provide links. Sometimes it takes me several days to catch up on hushmail messages. I have a pretty large library of seismic and volcanology information.
BTW, I think the one offshore from Petrolia is still being studied. It's difficult to locate the calderas. They often have to find the vents, then figure out where the magma may be pooling beneath the ocean floor. Not easy to ascertain. Once they suspect there is a volcano, it often takes several years to confirm there is a volcano there. Plus there are funding issues affecting research, and it takes awhile to publish results of the studies.
So I guess bottom line is we really don't know yet if there is one offshore from northern CA yet, or not. (It may be they have confirmed this, but I'm not caught up on this research.)

What's going on in Alaska? Super volcano by any chance?? I can not find anything in the news, not surprising. What happened in Japan is the same as what has and will happen everywhere. We are all expendable and most or sheep to the slaughter.
This is the tip of one very gigantic iceberg, I'm afraid. All of Japan will be affected, especially the children. This is because Japan PTB thought that saving people's lives was going to be too expensive. While they debated and equivocated, the clouds of death passed over and rained down. Now the PTB know the people are doomed already, and so there is no point to evacuations. One hotparticle can cause a deadly cancer in lung or gut, and Japanese are getting 10 a day in Tokyo, day after day after day. Plus all the damage from other forms of radioactivity around. This is going to be such a bad story once it unfolds for 5 or 10 years.
I don't think the evacuation area is large enough and large numbers of people will/are receiving..enough radiation to cause radiation sickness to varying degrees.
Heart: So true. At the very least, Tokyo and surrounding areas should have been evacuated immediately. Sure it would have cost a bundle. So they did nothing, not even a warning. Continuing to stay weakens the body, and we will have people being eaten alive by multiple primary cancers very soon. The cost of treating a population dying of cancer will prove ruinous. Tooo sad!

Actually I am on the fence about this issue. Is it accidental or on purpose, the big Fuku quake and nuclear devastation.
But it certainly is true, I think, that it is presenting the elites with realization/advancement one of their big goals – get rid of many million 'useless eaters.' Now they can do it deniably, while wringing their hands and saying 'too bad/so sad' about it (while also following the policy of standing by and letting it happen, while publicly ignoring and minimizing the extent of the massive die-off that is resulting and will result).
But, yes, I do tend to see this as being an ELE or next thing to one. Just looking at all the spent fuel rods, all the reactors, all the plutonium, all the tons of radionuclides spewed out into the air… it is not looking good.

We all have our own beliefs – many of us are not Christians. I have been preached at, and proselytized at, so much by Christians, over the years, that I've come to have a rather low tolerance for it.

Science seems to have betrayed us. Science also doesn't seem to have any solutions whether we are talking about Chernobyl or Fukushima or any nuclear plant on the planet or any of the nuclear waste problems. @anne: apparently the fruits of science are doing a wonderful job at getting your (albeit confused) message across to others. But let's address what I think is your real concern: the failure of science to address these innumerable failures at Fukushima and elsewhere. This 'phenomena' is due more to the influence of incompetent caretakers and business. From the very start, the caretakers of nuclear technology have been pressured by those who sign their paychecks. We see this time-and-time-again in the testimony of whistle blowers; that they were not heeded in their warnings. In fact, the original Mark I engineers at GE were shown the door when they objected to the faulty (but apparently 'cost effective') design of this line of power plants.
Though the outcome's likely to be as predictable as it's been, I'd like to see actual scientist and technicians given greater freedom to address these issues in the open. As it stands now, anyone who opens their mouths and tells the truth or suggests 'costly' preventative safety measures is quickly shown the door. It's all about cash and the politics of cash. Not unlike what we've seen in 'modern' medicine, science has been made subservient to the mammon…
No nuclear reactor should have ever been licensed for more than 30 years. But even more fundamental, no nuclear reactor should have ever been built in the first place. There is no way to run a nuclear power plant without venting radiation into the atmosphere and into the water. How could any scientist ever have signed off on such a murderous venture? There is no way to successfully deal with either decommissioning a nuclear reactor or dealing with radioactive waste. The accidents just speed up and highlight the shortcomings and insanity of nuclear power.
Nuclear power just means elite power, elite welfare (the dole for the elite), and elite insanity. It is impossible to be for nuclear energy or nuclear weapons without being the stupidest person on earth or being a psychopath or a sociopath or a kleptomaniac.

I feel so powerless. One idea that came to mind was to start a letter-writing campaign, getting just random street addresses in Fukushima, Tokyo, etc., and sending real information.

anne, science has not 'betrayed us.' Science is a tool that can be used for good or ill. The problem is that our 'centers of power' tend to get taken over by the wrong sort of people – by people who want wealth & power & will do anything to get it.
For people like this (& history is full of them, & govts. have repeatedly been co-opted like this), the best way to achieve their goals is to get control of govt., because govt. has the key powers to tax & legally to use force against us (if we don't give over our money as taxes, etc.) Also government tends to create a very extensive & useful infrastructure.
History shows us that this has happened repeatedly – the 'worst sort' – people who want money & power & will literally do anything to get it – tend to be drawn to govt. as the best tool to use to 'get ahead.' They get control of information – news, schools, publishing – & hide this fact/situation from the people (who unfortunately are too inclined to be lazy & not very good thinkers & to want a 'big daddy' govt. to 'take care of' them.)
In fact, it is now being realized that people with personality disorders – narcissists/sociopaths/psychopaths – tend to be drawn to positions of power, & to be willing to do practically anything to get power & wealth. & these are deranged people who have no conscience.

On another note: How can they claim that these symptoms are due to "fear of radiation" rather than radiation itself if these children are reporting these symptoms? Kids don't typically understand what radiation is/does. That in itself should be proof that these are not psychosomatic symptoms.

Here's the main page showing alert status for all the Alaskan volcanoes. I think this shows the code so aviators know when to avoid a certain area. Information provided on expected ash flows and clouds, along with elevation data for ash plumes.

There is a lot of good volcano infomation online. Google is not the place to go to find it, IMHO. Start with USGS or Volcano Hazards program. If you're interested in this kind of thing, there is some fascinating information on recently discovered volcanoes offshore from West Central Oregon, and another one they suspect may have formed offshore from Crescent City or somewhere southward to the Mendocino Triple Junction (offshore, north of Petrolia, CA). Studying this has been a hobby of mine for several years. Just write me at hotaters@hushmail.com and I will provide links. Sometimes it takes me several days to catch up on hushmail messages. I have a pretty large library of seismic and volcanology information.

BTW, I think the one offshore from Petrolia is still being studied. It's difficult to locate the calderas. They often have to find the vents, then figure out where the magma may be pooling beneath the ocean floor. Not easy to ascertain. Once they suspect there is a volcano, it often takes several years to confirm there is a volcano there. Plus there are funding issues affecting research, and it takes awhile to publish results of the studies.

This is the tip of one very gigantic iceberg, I'm afraid. All of Japan will be affected, especially the children. This is because Japan PTB thought that saving people's lives was going to be too expensive. While they debated and equivocated, the clouds of death passed over and rained down. Now the PTB know the people are doomed already, and so there is no point to evacuations. One hotparticle can cause a deadly cancer in lung or gut, and Japanese are getting 10 a day in Tokyo, day after day after day. Plus all the damage from other forms of radioactivity around. This is going to be such a bad story once it unfolds for 5 or 10 years.

Heart: So true. At the very least, Tokyo and surrounding areas should have been evacuated immediately. Sure it would have cost a bundle. So they did nothing, not even a warning. Continuing to stay weakens the body, and we will have people being eaten alive by multiple primary cancers very soon. The cost of treating a population dying of cancer will prove ruinous. Tooo sad!

Really, moderator, isn't this crossing the line a bit? Certainly we could use some divine guidance in this unfolding nightmare, but not all people are followers of Jesus. Many of the children of Japan are raised in the Shinto and Buddhist religions and don't need to "know Jesus".

Actually I am on the fence about this issue. Is it accidental or on purpose, the big Fuku quake and nuclear devastation.
But it certainly is true, I think, that it is presenting the elites with realization/advancement one of their big goals – get rid of many million 'useless eaters.' Now they can do it deniably, while wringing their hands and saying 'too bad/so sad' about it (while also following the policy of standing by and letting it happen, while publicly ignoring and minimizing the extent of the massive die-off that is resulting and will result).
But, yes, I do tend to see this as being an ELE or next thing to one. Just looking at all the spent fuel rods, all the reactors, all the plutonium, all the tons of radionuclides spewed out into the air… it is not looking good.
And the elites ARE monitoring rad levels etc. (just not reporting them); and if there ARE safer places – which most certainly there are/will be – you can be sure that the top elites know where they are and will go there and do their best to survive. We all have our own beliefs – many of us are not Christians. I have been preached at, and proselytized at, so much by Christians, over the years, that I've come to have a rather low tolerance for it.

@anne: apparently the fruits of science are doing a wonderful job at getting your (albeit confused) message across to others. But let's address what I think is your real concern: the failure of science to address these innumerable failures at Fukushima and elsewhere. This 'phenomena' is due more to the influence of incompetent caretakers and business. From the very start, the caretakers of nuclear technology have been pressured by those who sign their paychecks. We see this time-and-time-again in the testimony of whistle blowers; that they were not heeded in their warnings. In fact, the original Mark I engineers at GE were shown the door when they objected to the faulty (but apparently 'cost effective') design of this line of power plants.
Though the outcome's likely to be as predictable as it's been, I'd like to see actual scientist and technicians given greater freedom to address these issues in the open. As it stands now, anyone who opens their mouths and tells the truth or suggests 'costly' preventative safety measures is quickly shown the door. It's all about cash and the politics of cash. Not unlike what we've seen in 'modern' medicine, science has been made subservient to the mammon…

No nuclear reactor should have ever been licensed for more than 30 years. But even more fundamental, no nuclear reactor should have ever been built in the first place. There is no way to run a nuclear power plant without venting radiation into the atmosphere and into the water. How could any scientist ever have signed off on such a murderous venture? There is no way to successfully deal with either decommissioning a nuclear reactor or dealing with radioactive waste. The accidents just speed up and highlight the shortcomings and insanity of nuclear power.
Nuclear power just means elite power, elite welfare (the dole for the elite), and elite insanity. It is impossible to be for nuclear energy or nuclear weapons without being the stupidest person on earth or being a psychopath or a sociopath or a kleptomaniac.

For people like this (& history is full of them, & govts. have repeatedly been co-opted like this), the best way to achieve their goals is to get control of govt., because govt. has the key powers to tax & legally to use force against us (if we don't give over our money as taxes, etc.) Also government tends to create a very extensive & useful infrastructure.
History shows us that this has happened repeatedly – the 'worst sort' – people who want money & power & will literally do anything to get it – tend to be drawn to govt. as the best tool to use to 'get ahead.' They get control of information – news, schools, publishing – & hide this fact/situation from the people (who unfortunately are too inclined to be lazy & not very good thinkers & to want a 'big daddy' govt. to 'take care of' them.)
In fact, it is now being realized that people with personality disorders – narcissists/sociopaths/psychopaths – tend to be drawn to positions of power, & to be willing to do practically anything to get power & wealth. & these are deranged people who have no conscience.
These ruthless & ambitious people disproportionately rise to positions of power in govt. & industry.
I see a lot of people commenting on this site who seem to believe that those at the top mean well but are just mistaken. I myself believed this for a long time. IT IS AN INCORRECT ANALYSIS. & it is VERY important for more people to realize this. Indeed, if you don't understand the problem, you probably are not going to solve the problem.
TPTB now control pretty much all centers of power & use this control to encourage us to see them as just 'mistaken' – blunderers.

It would just mean one less amoral SOB struggling for the limited wealth and power that is up for grabs – and who is willing to do anything to get it.

What anne said is true, "Science seems to have betrayed us". Truth is, most all scientific inventions are unneeded. And most bring bad side effects. I could go on all day (weeks) with examples, but it's easier to show a few inventions that don't have bad side effects ..such as "the plow". Or maybe an "acoustic instrument", or "wooden spoon". Or "canoe".
Beyond that it gets crazy real fast" ..smoldering factories, insecticides, pesticides, thousands of environmental toxins. Microwave, dangerous x-ray, (list goes on forever) and clearly shows that we need to stop the craziness, and "get back to the garden".
