Leakage causes operators to shut down Nine Mile 2 nuclear plant, The Post-Standard, August 06, 2011:
The Nine Mile Point 2 nuclear station was shut down this morning after higher than normal leakage was detected in its drywell, the plant’s operator said.

It’s no danger to employees, yet the “leakage” forced them to scram the reactor core. Shutting down a billion dollar plant quickly does not inspire confidence of residents.

“Higher than normal” leakage. So, some amount of ‘leakage’ is ‘normal’ for nuclear reactors eh?

poor NY, like it wasn’t bad enough there already.
sure is disheartening when they say the leakage rate is decreased, but never reveal any unit of measure reguarding the leak in the first place.
