We’ll see. I think the inspection of shipping containers from large multinationals coming into the U.S. is nearly non-existent and whatever the EPA, White House or other government rhetoric that’s unlikely to change because of Fukushima. It should change; but I don’t think it will without, once again, citizen whistle blowers and citizen-initiated ionizing radiation measurements/inspections. Something contamination wise might turn up from small import/exporters who, since our false flag of 911, are getting the shaft of inspections far more than before 2001 for non-radiation related things. Walmart and other nasty economy obliterating “big-box store” products, on the other hand, never get inspected, which includes AIR freight. We also have to remember another inspection body that really does absolutely no inspections in the U.S. of anything statistically though it is their job and that would be the FDA. Less than 3% of all beef is inspected in the U.S. in any way. You could say, despite a website that says otherwise, that ZERO head of cattle are inspected annually for things like Mad Cow, or other pathogens or contaminating chemicals. Again, it’s 100% up to citizens to do their OWN inspections. The government does not inspect anything, statistically. When a little-person inspector with in-tact morals does try to do their job in the U.S., they are black-balled, fired outright (by either side) or are harrassed into disability, quitting or early retirement…sometimes they are even murdered.
Before the Tohuko quake an interesting fact about Beef raised, nearly all is (was) raised in the Tohoku region, is that EVERY head of cattle WAS inspected for Mad Cow, and other sorts of contamination possible with meat…thoroughly and scientifically. Before the Tohoku quake and Fukushima cataclysm, the Japanese WERE meticulous quality control inspectors of food, for safety. No more of that, since. I wonder what the Japanese public thinks of that or are they as addled by blind group think conformity. Group think is NOT a good thing. It is NOT the same thing as community mindedness. Are the Japanese becoming Americans? Are they becoming selfish cowards who have no moral or personal standards. I’m not talking about the roomies in here or the small percentage out there who are awake. The standards that did exist prior to Tohoku and Fukushima cataclysm must be enforced by Japanese citizens to protect Japanese citizens. No longer will your government protect you. No efforts to shame the government into doing the job that WE know they ought be doing now, will ever help. It is time for the citizens of Japan to rise above their cowardly, still U.S. occupation apparently, government. I believe in the people of Japan.

We need a CONNECTINGDOTS type to bring a dosimeter and webcam into stores here in the States, and start testing everything.

that would be a good place to start, it would be nice to see it actually happen.

Everything coming out of Japan will be covered in the nasty particles. It’s all bad.
How can they continue to do business if everything shipping out is rejected at port?
How can Dell, HP, Intel, AMD etc. continue to do business if they can’t get components for their products?
How can any electronics be built without electrolytic capacitors?
There is so much more that comes out of Japan. It’s all bad.. Hypothetical questions make me worry about everything! Not just potatoes and vegetables…

Ummmm…just export to countries that will not test for radiation….like the U.S.

Approx. 2 weeks or so +/- ago I was checking out a China newspaper online and saw where they claimed to get a shippment of Tires from Japan.
Didn’t mention it as , well, it’s China and they and Japan aren’t very warm and fuzzy anyway.

@theposonus,
Yes, do not mention China=Chinese gov.=CCP.
Actually,we Chinese living in the poisonous life all the time, and have already convoluted may be the poisonous treatment system in our body, which may have the function too after few months of Japan nuke releasing.
China is one of the first countries in this world ,which has inspected and detected the radioactive containment both from men in airports and containers arrived in Chinese ports.
But after our film-star premier Wen visited FUkushima ,all of those news and measures has stopped, and he agree to left the ban to import Japanese food for from almost all of Japan, may be right now only Fuckshima is on the banned list.

John: If the people of Japan can afford to buy Geiger counters and secretly use these and get the word out somehow, I highly recommend that the community take care of itself. I think the risks of being thrown in prison for doing so will approach equal to the risks of not doing it soon enough.

Gaiger counter sold in China from USD200 -300,for Japanese it is surely affordable.
The most important task is to wake them up, and make them to live in reality, meet the truth even it hurt.
Actually it is very simple to make an Gaiger counter mobile phone ,which can transmit the alert at least to those people you care, and even to the internet map.
Money and technology means is not a problem for Japanese, but the willingness to find ,the seek, to knock the door of truth is matter in this case.

Things is getting very clear, that all the gov.and big guys in this world is worship the same Gold castle: Economically Rich!
In the very beginning, days to after 3.11, Chinese gov. start checking visitors and cargos from Japan.
But after the Chinese premier Wen visited Fukushima, they stopped all the reports and declared to stop restriction for the food import from Japan!
In reality, Japan is the NO.1 food export market for Chinese food industry over last 20 decade.

could you elaborate on the potassium/radiation connection? This is the first I’ve heard of it. The reason I ask (I’m in Los Angeles), and a friend who was 48 but in excellent shape (I mean pro athlete shape) just up and died from a heart attack while walking up a not very steep hill. Everyone who knew him is stunned because he was the poster child for physical fitness and athletics and didn’t smoke.

Who is ordering the Japanese government to LIE to its people?
Is it TEPCO?
Is it the US?
The interesting thing in this case is that the interests of all parties are aligned, except for the people of Japan (and the US, Canada and just about everywhere else), whose interests are disregarded.
