ENENEWS Site Update: New Features & Tools Added
- Submit your news reports and articles for publication via an easy-to-use form. No longer is there only the tip box for news suggestions. Look for the ‘Create New Post‘ link to to try it out.
- Upload Photo/Avatar that will be displayed next to your comments. Scroll to bottom of user profile and look for the ‘Avatar’ section. Click ‘Browse’ and locate a photo from your computer to upload. Click ‘Update Profile’.
- Search box for comments (Right column, near bottom) – Searches author names and comment text… a work in progress.
- Translation Tools (Right column, near top) – Quick translations via Google Translate.
- Homepage now shows categorized headlines first, modeled after Mainichi. Categories: Japan/US & Canada/World
And of course…
- The ‘modified’ forum for discussion threads. Thread topics suggested by readers are selected for publication. As the forum ramps up, new topics will be published on a daily basis. The weekly discussion threads, webcam thread, and radiation monitoring thread will be integrated into the new forum.
Minor Updates & Additions
- Easy access to user profile information – Change your password, email address, avatar, etc.
- Now possible to login with email address or username
- Quick login/logout button in top right menu bar
- New ‘Report Comments’ link for abusive comments. Allows reader to report comment and give a reason why. Button now at bottom of comment to prevent accidental reporting when clicking ‘Reply’.
