      Looks like it’ll be for long past our lifetimes.

      We might be saved to some extent by BDMs, increased public knowledge, use of countermeasures (zeolite? bentonite, … ).

      This will last until radiation disaster/mutant movies come back in fashion. Held over for 24,000 years by popular demand.

      Gotta watch China Syndrome again…
      TV episodes too. Battlestar Galactica, when they come to the radiation poisoned planet.
      Then there was the radioactive destruction that lead to the Planet of the Apes (Played by TEPCO managers)

      Former governor Arnold should do one, to help cope with his separation. The terminator battles radioactive stepford wives.

      Maybe we’re all in a sci-fi movie and don’t realize it.

    B. I heard 100 years from one expert in nuclear energy…very sad. There’s got to be some more to be done. A culture that produced kamikazes and hari kiri should be able to tackle this better than most!!

    QUESTION: Is NILU no longer producing their Fukushima plume forecasts?? I can’t believe this!! Can’t anyone get some backbone?!!

          Very interesting…. you may be onto something. Wonder if the ash has properties which nutralise or counter reacts with uranium? I’m thinking in nature uranium must coexist with other elements and life seems okay with it being there in our crust. Likewise with volcanic ash. Together in the crust, amongst other things we can tolerate walking on uranium underfoot. I don’t know, it just seems like a good idea for some reason…the ash is notably smothering, ultra fine and can melt and transform with heat…. I wonder if there is something in your idea – like maybe volcanic ash being better as a topping than borax or lead!? Like maybe you can put ash on molten ball and it coats the mass as it changes to glass or beyond at the high temp and maybe it can be used to re-contain the ball somehow? Sorry to go on but your comment struck my hunch center somehow!

    well, at the top of the food chain as we are, we are going to eventually be poisoned, and our offspring will be genetically mutated, thus changing our species forever. A couple of generations more and we’;re finished off forever.
    The stars will still twinkle in the sky, but no sentient life be around to witness and admire them.

      It might help to be a vegetarian, and be careful about where things were grown. I think stuff might accumulate more in animals as you move up the food chain.

There are incredibly sensitive monitoring stations around the world for test ban treaties to detect a radioactive fart halfway around the world if need be, but the information is below the surface clamor of media. obviously here we all are.

The west coasts of the United States and Canada, Mexico, and Hawaii are being intentionally targeted by dangerous radiation from the March 11, 2011 tectonic warfare earthquake and nuclear meltdown events at Fukushima, Japan.

Radiation from the Japan quake/nuclear meltdown events at Fukushima is intentionally being steered into these areas in order to dose the land and the food with radiation.

        Danger of radiation in the rain

        Ms. Moret warned that the U.S. government is covering up the radiation danger in North America, and stated that individuals should venture out in the rain with their bodies fully covered, including gloves.

        During WWII, it was discovered that the most effective method of nuclear warfare was to detonate an atomic bomb in a raincloud, and let the radiation rain down on the target population.

        The weather warfare capabilities of HAARP and the GWEN towers systems are being used to create weather patterns (such as tornadoes) and rain that bring radiation as high as in the Fukushima area of Japan on the southeast, mid west, southwest and west coasts of the United States.

      Well…a few hours ago before sunrise(?) it was pointing at the facility with several plumes of steam/smoke, then I came back a short time later then I could only make out a tower (camera shift?)…and now you have? Sky? Lots of smoke? Who knows…

      Same here…Was watching about an hour before sunrise and couldn’t make out anything. Could be fog or smoke. Now it’s well past sunrise and it seems even darker.

      I think yer right koopa. Jet stream will carry it to sea, then N. America, then Atlantic, then Europe, then Russia/China, then back to Japan to complete the circle and continue again and again and again raining hundreds of varieties of radioactive isotopes along the way in an infinite loop. Some with short little half lives, many with half lives of centuries. Yes, God knows where. He must see his creation of childish, greedy humans as a metastasizing cancer on Earth’s beautiful body. If its fuck-up-able, we’ll do it every time.

    With the smoke and/or steam now rising continuously, the wind direction and strength become extremely important factors to follow. The wind will determine the fate of a nation or the future of life in the Pacific.

      Agreed. I wonder when the winds change away from us and for how long? I’m getting the feeling that people who live in that general area (China, Koreas, Russia, Japan etc) are used to living in radiation? Like they have all probably coped or endured it previously, even if just for proximity to neighboring events or bombings. In spite of the history and exposures, there seems to be populations who survive. I know how we feel farther away from it and couldn’t even imagine how stressed I’d be if I lived in Japan right now. It must have seemed a blessing to them that the winds took the bulk of poisons out to sea and away. I think it would have been a very different disaster if the winds didn’t show them favor like it did. But even that doesn’t seem to be concerning all the close neighbors it seems to me…

    There seems to be less and less info. available. Maybe plan b is pretend this isn’t happening. Cut all communication from Fukushima and no one will know what is going on there. Soon they will forget. When I ask people about what they have heard or know about the meltdown they say nothing. I would guess that 90 percent of the world doesn’t even know this is happening. The largest nuclear disaster to ever occur, and I have only you folks to talk with because if it isn’t on the nightly news it isn’t happening….didn’t Ayn Rand write a book about a society that no longer had books so the only things people knew was what they were told by a talking head. One question, when this blog goes off the air…can we set up a meeting place?
