Arnie Gundersen interview, Democracy Now, April 19, 2011:
Transcript Excerpts [Emphasis Added]
AMY GOODMAN: Can you talk about TEPCO saying that they were optimistic that they could bring down radiation at the damaged plant and go to a cold shutdown of the facility in six to nine months? … Will radiation be leaking for the six to nine months?
ARNIE GUNDERSEN: Radiation is leaking every day now, both liquid into the ocean and also airborne. When you see those clouds of smoke coming out of the unit, that’s not steam, that’s radioactive steam. So, they’re releasing radioactivity as a airborne, and also, probably more important right now is Unit 2, the reactor has a hole in it, and the containment has a hole in it. So they’re pouring water in the top, and it’s running out the bottom. And it’s what’s causing all of this enormous amount of high-level radioactive waste. …

Somebody screamed CUT THE MIKE.

She mentioned at the beginning they didn’t have much time, so maybe that’s why they cut him short just as he was starting to talk about massive amounts of radiation being leaked? At least I hope that’s what happened.
Report Comment
It was too abrupt! Amy never cuts people off like that.

Nutrients to the Rescue
Useful Quotes from Dr. Sircus Blog
“Spirulina and chlorella have been used heavily by the Russians after the Chernobyl nuclear plant disaster. And the Japanese love their miso soup and that was said to help some of their citizens survive the fallout after the Americans attacked two of their cities.”
“Tan Koon Peng from Singapore writes: “Miso is effective for detoxifying your body of radiation. During World War II, two hospitals that were located side by side were hit with atomic radiation, in one hospital people consumed Miso and all of them survived while many people in the other hospital that did not take miso died. Miso is rich in vitamin B therefore it is suitable for vegetarians who are in shortage of vitamin B. For best results do not cook miso.””

Miso helpful
Mrs. Noah purchases Non-GMO, Non-MonsterSanto, organic miso. Using it uncooked. (Do not boil the miso, but add it when water is just hot enough, right for drinking, at sipping temperature.

Thank You Noah. I have read that adding Kombu or Dashi-no-Moto (seaweeds) to the miso is also of great benefit. Thank you Noah and Warloc for your insight and links and sites. Today, I felt the singularity and aloneness that you wrote about earlier Noah. What is wrong with everyone?? It is surreal, talking to people who don’t have a clue. They are like children walking around in their own universe, unaware and naive.
I am so glad you are all here. Thank you and THANK YOU ENENEWS!!!

Don’t forget NAC (the stable form of the amino acid cysteine) which can be found at about any supplement store.

There also appears to be reason to believe that red wine (which contains the anti-oxidant resveratrol) has anti-radiation benefits.

I love Japanese Green Tea: Sencha, Pearl, all of it…HUGE industry.
As I was brewing a bag today, I thought, hmmmm, well, that’s that for Japanese tea in our lifetime, maybe forever. Stuff that’s been cured and dried pre Fukushima will soon be scarce as gold, then extinct.
I know it’s trivial to talk about green tea at a time like this, but it points up how many japanese products make the world go round. So many components in so many millions of products. The financial aspect is/will be as devastating as environmental.
