Follow up to: Radioactive material reportedly now being released from massive gas blowout in LA — Byproduct of Uranium — Expert: “A lot” has been detected… Very dangerous (VIDEO)

Interviews from Nuclear Hotseat hosted by Libbe HaLevy, Jan 13, 2016 (emphasis added):

Kevin Kamps,  Beyond Nuclear’s nuclear waste watchdog (8:30 in): “Another important thing that is very significant is that the radon is continually resupplied… Radon is going to be constantly generated by the uranium contained in the methane… So really you’ve got a chronic constant supply of hazardous radon gas coming out of this breach in California.”

Cindy Folkers, Beyond Nuclear‘s expert on ionizing radiation (16:00 in): “I’m absolutely astounded that they are not measuring for radon that I know of… I can’t believe that they’re not measuring for radon… [Radon] also decays to a number of what are called radon progeny which includes a number of short-lived radioactive substances, some of which are lead and polonium. Both of those can be very biologically damaging… There is question as to the kind of doses that they would be getting of radon, but it still is really very much a worry… I feel like — doing the research that I’ve done — that we are not getting the full story of what’s happening there.”

Richard Mathews, candidate for California State Senate who studied physics & astronomy at CALTECH (32:00 in): “People are really concerned about this, people are seriously getting sickThousands of people are getting sick from this — and it really is a major, major disaster… Methane floats away and spreads around the whole world… All the contaminants that are in with the methane are heavier than the air and that includes… benzene and toluene, hydrogen sulfide — all of those are heavier than air — they tend to stay close to the ground and move downhill. This is happening in the hills above the San Fernando Valley [home to nearly 2 million people] and so the poisons are all moving down into the San Fernando Valley and spreading through the entire San Fernando Valley… As the radon and other substances flow around, they are accumulating. They are not easily blown out of the valley, and we are getting higher and higher levels… The lead is going to be around for decades… The initial lead that you get is radioactive. This will be a continuing problem… It could spread through the entire San Fernando Valley… The damage that the radon does stays in your body… and shows up as cancer a decade after, maybe even 80 years later. So we really need to follow through.”

Terry Lodge, attorney (50:00 in): “You have a massive release, probably, of radon going on — and there may actually also be radium particulate… I’d be taking very rapid steps [if I lived in the area], I’d be running like hell. And the reason is, I suspect that there’s little by way of emergency anticipation — what could possibly go wrong? We have this vast underground storage facility… There are not radiation monitors… the problem is sort of the Three Mile Island problem… the radiation emission went way off the meter… there were no redundant rings, there was no monitoring certain distances outside the plant boundary. You don’t even have that at Porter [Ranch]… They don’t know how much radon is being dispersed… [Radon] can be concentrated by rainfall, concentrated by humidity, and inversions… There needs to be some type of soil sampling… air, and all that… So the problem is that radon is around in the Porter Ranch situation — nobody’s prepared for it. They’re not talking about it now — this may months into the crisis.”

Published on Jan 11, 2016 environmental activist Erin Brockovich, together with Robin Greenwald from Weitz & Luxenberg, hosted a town hall meeting on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 for residents of Porter Ranch who have been affected by the gas leak at Southern California Gas Co.’s Socal Aliso Canyon Gas Storage Facility. At the meeting, Brockovich, Greenwald (see Erin Brockovich 19:40 into clip) and a meteorologist and doctor talked about testing and how it will develop over the next 3-4 weeks, update residents on the current status of the leak and how they plan to proceed with lawsuits they have filed against Southern California Gas Co. “Puckett went on to say that
“’They’re not coming onto my place no more. If they do, I’m gonna have to do something about it. I don’t want them going across my ground. I work with the BLM. I have no problem with them. The fence has not nor will ever affect my cattle operation. I am a good steward of the land. In no way do I feel that I am entitled to the refuge for grazing.” Puckett is likely also aware that the BLM land has been a refuge for 100 years and is culturally significant to Native Americans, and that ‘keeping cattle from walking over burial sites is immensely important.’…”

Here ya go, PT. Here's the BLMs real agenda. They are acquiring and holding some 273 million acres of wilderness lands for Federal Development of Uranium mining and oil/gas development.

Further complicating this issue is the likely sale of Canadian uranium mining company, U1, to Russia. Although they have backed out of Colorado, they have plans for Uranium mining in other states, including Oregon.

The strong arming is because we import 90% of U.S, Uranium. Multinational investors are keen to mine our land because there are no royalties on uranium mining as there is for gas and oil…so it's more profitable. Federal agencies are in the process of legally obtaining the right to mine this wilderness BLM-secured land and many others.

So PT, the BLM is hot to secure the Hammond's land for the federal government to MINE it's Uranium once it has gained the legal right, by changing the rules that have protected wild lands up until now…a change currently under way.

PT thinks the Bundys and Hammonds only want to sell the land to foreign mining interests. The alternative outcome is that the government mines it, yet it is unconstitutional to do so. In the first case, mining is NOT what the town and the Hammonds say they plan, but we know for sure the motives of the BLM. The way PT sees it, it will be mined EITHER way. The way I see it, wilderness can be preserved.

    Learn about BLM's motives here:

    Last year blowout in Texas
    "April 13, 2015

Arlington, TX, Apr 13 — Saturday a gas well in the heart of West Arlington blew out while being fracked, forcing the evacuation of the surrounding neighborhood. Owned by Vantage Energy and directly adjacent to homes and ball fields, the blowout spilled flowback fluid that can contain hazardous chemicals, radioactivity and salts.

The blowout lasted over 24 hours. After several attempts to cap it, Vantage eventually was forced to call in a Houston team of blowout specialists. Initially, 13 homes were evacuated, but on Sunday morning that was widened to incorporate over 100 homes within one-eighth of a mile. Uncontrolled, the blowout risked an explosion like the one in Parker County which blew a 700’ crater."

Obama Executive Orders Nationalizing Energy, Food, Water, Everything Else
    April 13 2013

    • CodeShutdown CodeShutdown

One of the most frightening Obama edicts to come down the pike is Executive Order 13603 on “National Defense Resources Preparedness,” issued a little over a year ago, on March 16, 2012. This executive order is frightening because of its sweeping scope, explicitly declaring that the president and his designated Cabinet and agency heads have authority to commandeer and control:

      all water,

      all human and animal food,

      all transportation,

      all energy,

      all construction materials,

      all “health resources,”

      all farm equipment,

      all fertilizers,

      all fuels,

      … and much more.

What should be particularly alarming to Americans is that Executive Order 13603 does not merely claim these powers during war time or during a “national emergency,” but explicitly and repeatedly states that these apply “in peacetime and in times of national emergency.” It further states that this “authority shall be used to promote the national defense, under both emergency and non-emergency conditions.”

The Act of Congress imposes certain "procedural formalities" on the President when invoking such powers. The perceived need for the law arose from the scope and number of laws granting special powers to the executive in times of national emergency.

I dont remember the president calling himself commander in chief when I was a kid…is it a new trend?

A commander-in-chief is sometimes referred to as Supreme commander. The role of commander-in-chief derives from the Latin, imperator. In its modern use, the term first applied to King Charles I of England in 1639.

Caesarism is a form of political rule that emulates the rule of Roman dictator Julius Caesar over the Roman Republic, in that it is led by a charismatic strongman whose rule is based upon a cult of personality, whose rationale is the need to rule by force, establishing a violent social order, and being a regime involving prominence of the military in the government.

The powers of command-in-chief over the Canadian Forces are vested in the Canadian monarch. The current Canadian monarch, since 6 February 1952, is Queen Elizabeth II. The command in chief of Australia is vested in the Governor General as the Queen's representative

George Washington was the first President to firmly establish military subordination under civilian authority. In 1794, Washington used his constitutional powers to assemble 12,000 militia to quell the Whiskey Rebellion—a conflict in western Pennsylvania involving armed farmers and distillers who refused to pay tax on spirits.

commander in chief seems to be a personality cult figure who controls the peoples military and uses it to plunder foreign states or even the supreme commanders own people, for example if they arent…

I read your comments dunkilo, had already viewed Article 1 clause 17, so found the discussion confounding.

I had understood from American relatives that some surface rights had been separated from mineral rights by private landowners, so I
could not fathom how the Federal Government became involved.

as I now research it appears that
“The states voluntarily turned over their lands to national control. The Land Ordinance of 1785 and Northwest Ordinance created territorial government, set up protocols for the admission of new states, the division of land into useful units, and set aside land in each township for public use. This system represented a sharp break from imperial colonization, as in Europe, and provided the basis for the rest of American continental expansion through the 19th Century.[24]”

                  Aminopyralid

Aminopyralid is of concern to vegetable growers, as it can enter the food chain via manure, which contains long-lasting residues of the herbicide. It affects potatoes, tomatoes, and beans, causing deformed plants, and poor or non-existent yields. Problems with manure contaminated with aminopyralid residue surfaced in the UK in June and July 2008, and, at the end of July 2008, Dow AgroSciences implemented an immediate suspension of UK sales and use of herbicides containing aminopyralid.[5]
Tomato plant affected by aminopyralid herbicide residue from contaminated manure, grown July 2008, Cheshire, UK. Note tightly curled leaves, which is a symptom of aminopyralid contamination.
Approval of aminopyralid was subsequently reinstated in the UK on October 6, 2009, as reported by the UK regulatory authority, the Advisory Committee on Pesticides.[6] The re-introduction was approved "with new recommendations and a stringent stewardship programme devised to prevent inadvertent movement of manure from farms".

Convoluted is an accurate assessment, and don't forget enabling act addendums, written in to most every title. The real 'meat' of land use.

                From the Fed>state>county>township>development/er.

Long list, the actual owner, may end up with only one redeeming value.

                Taxes.

The whole point, I do believe.

                • Angela_R

I wonder how the legal system works in the US when conducting Title Searches. In Australia the old parchment deed exchanged before computerisation, recorded the changes and exclusions. In some States that is no longer the case.

However, most people carried a mortgage and the deed was withheld as security by the Loan Company, so the buyer may not have sighted the records, so may have been ignorant of exclusions.

In fact, some people may have not been informed that they did not have freehold. Pastoral leases of 100 years, were sometimes purchased without the buyer being aware that an 'in fee simple' purchase was not procured.

Initially what was referred to as Crown Land, was distributed to the people as a Deed of Grant.

A Conditional Sale was undertaken and as long as conditions were met, for instance in some cases, land clearing, fencing and sundry other improvements, the land was passed across without any monetary consideration.

Certain mineral reservations were reserved to the Crown (Crown land in Australia, btw. is a term used for Public land). However, the next exchange, was between private parties who DID seek monetary compensation.

I am inclined to think that this may have been the initial transaction process in the U.S.

                    Yes Angela,
'A Conditional Sale was undertaken and as long as conditions were met, for instance in some cases, land clearing, fencing and sundry other improvements, the land was passed across without any monetary consideration.'

Similar to a 'Claim'. Can convert to 'Patent', for a modest fee, but may be restricted in actual 'rights'. Convoluted? Ya
                    Gov land at its best.
You get a title and taxes, buyer beware on all else. haha

Private land? Only in Amerika can we have 2 general rule sets:
                    Buyer Beware=screw you
Full Disclosure=careful, you can screw yourself
                    hahaha

Texas is mostly private with good mineral rights, many folks have/had oil rights like 1 or 2 wells. Good is of course in the eye of the beholder, haha.

Huntington Beach, Calif. has/had oil rights on residential size land. Oil co's paid royalties to these people, even though it was 'slant drilling' from out in the ocean
                    being done.

You only have what you have in writing, and increasingly, less and less due to widespread mismanagement, corruption, moneyed interests, and combinations no one can figure out or fight against effectively. Convoluted is correct!

The fight is everywhere Roger. 60% of the small island referred to as England is under exploration for shale gas and subject to fracking. Even the Hot Springs in Bath.

and this is one proposal for waste:
"Disposal of solid NORM waste in England and Wales will be to sites which have appropriate permits from EA to accept radioactive waste.

At present these are: the Low Level Waste Repository near Drigg and Lillyhall in Cumbria; Clifton Marsh in Lancashire; and King’s Cliffe in Northamptonshire. The application for disposal
of LLW to the landfill site at Keekle Head was refused by the local authority. The site operator appealed the decision and a public inquiry was held. The Secretary of State’s decision on the Planning Inspector’s report is expected in December 2013."

At 23 minutes into this second attempt, Bundy is finally able to go on air.

Points made by Ammon Bundy: The Bundy group is 30 miles out of town. The government locked down Burns downtown. They fenced off the court building and schools, and stationed men at school and airport "to protect" the town. The result? It is causing fear.

About 300 townspeople have visited the Bundy location, encouraged that they can now speak out, because if they did before, there was retribution. Area people have not been able to drill new wells for 5 years, Fish and Wildlife put up fences to restrict grazing rights. The issue of permits has been withheld or permits were ended in the middle of contracts. The courts have been used for land grab through prosecution, as in the Hammond's case.

Wrongfully convicted because of court corruption in the first place, after serving complete sentences, the Hammonds were "Re-sentenced" by the 9th District Court of Appeals.

These new sentences of 4 years, 9 months and the other for 4 years are clear cases of double jeopardy. Dwight Hammond is 73 years old.

When 100 ranchers on the Refuge said they didn't want to sell, The Refuge built a canal and diverted water that flooded 32 ranches and homes in a lake of water, forcing sale at diminished value. Then the Refuge drained the lake.

Signature is pending for confiscation of Malheur County, adjacent to Harney County and twice the size of Yellowstone, that will displace 350-400 ranchers.

All remedies have been sought to exhaustion through the courts, and through elected representatives, yet the corruption and violation of rights has gotten worse.

Needs: We need people to help with county recording records, maps, surveying to identify who's using what to insure deeds to the land are in the people's hands. We need people to stand up to defend the rights of individuals. The Land and the Resources belong to the people…we need to protect it so that government doesn't claim it as their own, and so The People can produce. It's the key to economic recovery."

We wish to establish a safety perimeter of protection for the occupiers so as to prevent a Waco-style situation from unfolding during this peaceful occupation. The primary intention of this outer-ring is to bear witness to any aggressive action initiated by federal agencies or the occupiers, and to encourage an open dialogue towards a peaceful resolution. We will serve as a neutral third-party intermediary to prevent bloodshed."

The Bundy group has reached out to Indian Councils to unite, but none have responded. The government has not communicated in any way…Bundy: "It's a lose/lose situation for them. Constitution: Article 1, Section 8 …17
          Territory: Article 4, Section 3 …2

NOTE: Unfortunately, the constitution says the government can use the 10 square miles for limited purposes like military, yes, but one of those purposes is …in matters of international trade. Can the govt. land grab to sell Uranium rights to…Russia, et al?

Then I studied all the varied forms of "what is wrong with society, government, the powers that be, environment". It took a lot of time. Finally around 2010/2011 I came to the conclusion that I don't need to know every little detail about everything that is messed up. In fact, doing so takes you away from things you need to be doing.

Once you know enough to know that things are not right, you can just kind of keep an eye on the overall picture, and spend the time saved on doing what some would call "prepping". Amazingly some people don't even know what this word means.

Others think this is a "crazy prepper" activity, but in reality what they call prepping now, is simply what your grandfather would be doing as "responsible living".

I saw the comment below on a Global Warming article, and thought it hit home. Last fall I came to the conclusion that what I needed to focus on was "being more effective" with all activities that I decide to pursue. Indeed, whining to the choir is not effective, coined it I have.

Libertarian Fairy Tales: The Bundy Militia's Revisionist History in Oregon
“After the 1870s, the story of Harney County ranching became a story of class warfare, as cattle barons such as French sought to expand and monopolize the range by destroying or incorporating smaller competitors. The underlying economics—and corrupt local governance—tended to favor the syndicate: Only well-capitalized firms, with many employees, had the resources to drive their cattle to the nearest railhead, hundreds of miles away, so small-scale ranchers often had no choice but to sell their cattle to the big operations (at whatever price the large operations chose to buy). Large firms could drive small ranches out of business, simply by refusing to buy from them. Of course, sometimes the big fish eating the little fish paid their own price: Hugh J. Glenn would be killed by a disgruntled employee, and Peter French, in turn, would be shot and killed in 1897 by a small-holder whose farm he had encircled as part of a long-running border dispute. But that was the old West….
“There are many reasons why the government owns so much land in Harney County. Some of the land is of no value to anyone; the Army took all of it from the northern Paiute, but never found buyers for some of it. Sometimes it was always more profitable for individual ranchers just to use government land without buying it. And sometimes the land fell back into the federal government’s hands because the ranchers no longer wanted it…

    • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar PraisingTruth

For all the infrastructure it built to make cattle ranching profitable (and the massive fraudulent handouts to well-connected and well-capitalized cattle corporations), the federal government enabled the great cattle empires of the 1870s only to watch them go belly up. But they were, of course, too big to fail: In a story as old as finance capitalism, the federal government bailed them out and bought back the land….
“The story the Bundy brothers tell is mostly empty space, like the Western frontier of their imagination. And perhaps this is fitting. After all, what is American history if not a history of unspoken violence, told by erasure?”
