i would have thunk it, everybody would have.

and it’s commonsense, this radiation is just not going to disappear.

we are in for a long rough haul.

..they must have thought about it pretty hard.
    At a certain radius..No Man’s Land..ad finitum.
The radius of contamination is being played down..considerably.
..Giving the people a month to evacuate sounds kindly but it is criminal.
    .. they need immediate evacuation.

I agree, they should have been evacuated before this.

No one can fence this contamination in.

We are even getting it here. How much of this will effect us, we’ll find out.

yes and this is just the beginning.

a long and difficult path lays ahead just dealing with the “safe amounts” of dangerous residual radiation awaits us here on the west coast.

this is beyond a chernobyl on steroids scenario. this is beyond confusing.

yes the acts of TEPCO and the japanese ministry and government is criminal.

  • Not Sure

How long will Japan choose to live in La La Land? How long will it choose to contaminate its own people before it faces up to the Fukushima-Godzilla that it created?

    There’s no going back Japan!

You’ve crossed the threshold. Quit pretending. Show the world the way! Show the world how you can contain a nuclear disaster. How you can act in unison to save yourself and the world. Then show the world how you are done with nuclear energy…how you will work to decommission each and every nuclear plant on your island.

That is your only choice, your only chance.

If you choose otherwise, Japan will cease to exist as a nation.

Maybe it already has ceased to exist as a ntion, like the good ole USA. After all, it is a CORPORATION which is in control here, not the nation. Corporations – maximum culpability, minimum responsibility for the results.

  • I echo Not Sure’s comment.

Job One, as usual, is getting accurate information, then we can act. After all, the real danger comes from dummies who don’t understand (in the military and government) and from those who do know the damage they are causing (military, government) but have somehow justified it in their alleged minds as an allowable injury to our planet.

The data is in. We’ve nuked ourselves, our plants and animals, our air, our oceans and our children for many generations to come. Time to join hands and stop this nightmare from getting worse while we at least still have a Southern Hemisphere left. Also, prosecute those who are doing the damage.

wouldn’t that be nice. some sort of show of responsibility and commonsense here would be great. in this great time of need. time for the corporations to stop faking it, the radiation can’t be controlled by artificial manmade boundaries and fences. the contamination from the leaking fukushima dai-ichi reactors is going to be significant.

  • Very dangerous stuff…plutonium..even the inventor was dubious because of the danger to the public of national use in Reactors. There are so many more Reactors in Japan operating at this time! No one says booh about them and their possible present danger to Japan and the world!
My God talk about playing this down! The dangers to the earth are too great to use nuclear fuel in electricity production! Spent rods should have been removed immediately from Reactor sites not stored in them!
