This MOX stuff really doesn’t want to be stable, does it?
What’s downwind of that facility?
If I lived there, I would get out now…

And they’re building a MOX plant in South Carolina -

Yes, I would get at least 100 miles minimum away from any facility that had news involving the words “nuclear” and “explosion” in the same sentence! Get out now, find out the whole story six months from now.

“. . . the furnace affected . . . had only very low levels of radiation.”
Is this because plutonium emits alpha particles, which are weak outside of the body (but absolutely lethal inside of it)?
This doesn’t bode well either
:
“The French nuclear programme does not have a stellar record of transparency. In environmental circles, particular opprobrium is reserved for officials who in 1986 claimed the Chernobyl accident would have no impact on France – a statement lampooned as indicating officials believed radioactive fallout observed national boundaries.”
Report Comment
No levels of radiation is safe levels of radiation !
Report Comment
Right–the irony is that the alpha particles which are said to be “weak” from the outside are also known to be the deadliest of all once they get inside a person. I’m wondering if that alleged “weakness” is what enables them to claim it is “low-level.” I wish they would tell us explicitly if the stuff that was released (which they are calling low-level) was plutonium.

Yes, if some company had a little accident that would result in disintegrating sub-microscopic particles machine-gunning various cells in my body, I would DEMAND to know exactly what those substances were, and not be content with just knowing how many disintegrations per second were occurring and how much energy they released. What geeks! This is my human body, my human health! STOP producing ANY more man-made disintegrating atoms (ionizing radiation)….!!! The cost of stopping, believe me, is far less than the cost we will already pay for generations to come.
Report Comment
First I heard that no radioactive materials were involved. Then I hear a “little bit” of radioactive material, but none escaped. Lies from lying liars are not too reassuring. The only honest people defending nuclear energy are those who know nothing about it and those who have areas of technical expertise which give them a false feeling of being in control… Then you have the greedy SOBs who are knowingly poisoning us and lying about it.

No please don’t tell me they are incinerating rad waste in France in a furnace….which sends smoke up into the air…please don’t tell me that. Where do your becquerels go then, you f-ing idiots?!!!??

Whatta f*** is goin on in the world? There’s a many nuclear plant in trouble a same time
Has the goverments and firms like Tepco stopped service these monsters and now peoples will suffer without a reason. It’s comptletely madness to build Nuclear plant a place like Japan, and Frenc doesn’t seem to be any better.
Sad sad world, so many lives will be lost in vain

I concur, this is total insanity to make a buck !

Most plants are at the end of their life limit, and no matter how much maintenance you do, they just can’t be rehabbed. Expect many many more problems as the plants continue to age far past their design limits. Ever take a car past 200,000? Everything starts getting dicey and that’s a lot simpler than a nuclear power plant.

You been hiding under a rock?
I put that up on a board yesterdy, and even made the comment about the large “Happy People’ sign behind that poor woman.
Did you see the info about the peaceful portesters that go roughed up by the Cops and Yakuza.. Yep, the cops are calling in the Mafia to help quelch peaceful protests.
Just like here and elsewhere, ‘they’ are going to do what ‘they’ want regardless of what the people that pay them and financially, the system, want.

As far as I understand the facility is _not_ a nuclear plant -it is not reported as one in the German press – not an electricity generating plant. As far as I understand it is a facility where old fuel is reprocessed in order to produce MOX fuel.

Something odd about this one. If you try and look at it on Google Earth 44°8′36″N 4°42′34″E
then it’s blurry on the spot where the nuke plant is like its loading but it never becomes unblurry. And this type of blur isnt the same loading blur u usually get. Also this blur runs parallel with roads. Who knows.. see for yourself. download google earth for free http://www.google.com/earth/download/ge/agree.html

Hi stukncali, Marcoule used to be a nuke plant (50′s reactor). Nowadays it has various nuclear companies on its site (which is huge).
I used to love the south of France for holiday, but no more, thanks.

Hey breadnbutter.. I just come across spots once in a while on google earth that are blurred out like this was. And its so obvious that it was done on purpose and isnt loading which is what they try and make it look like. Download google earth and see for yourself. Just put in those coordinate i posted into the search bar and itll take you right to it. I want someone else to see so I can determine if it’s my computer or not

Well holy shizznet. I forgot about the historical button and i hit it and i saw a picture from 03 but from 06 and on its blurred out. Kinda fishy as there was a nuke plant in the united states like that. it was los alamo i think. ill look for it right now. But you guys should download google earth and take a look for yourselves. If you look at fukushima they have pictures from the 11 of march til the 18th of march and one of the pictures i think caputres the explosion of number 3 or 4. I can give you guys the coordinates for both places so you dont have to find it

Good number you come up there with CIAspy.

Folks commenting about image degradation on these views,
yes , and sorry to always come off smart-ass in my typings….
AHEm, deep breath, sigh…, new breath…OK!…
At the time of 9/11, and then, attacks on innocent AfghANISTAN,
the total digital globe rights to the satellite imagery were
bought up, controlled, and suppressed by Govt.
I was in school for remote sensing at that time.
This is actually similar to intentional degradation of
surveillance-cam imagery, a way to suppress the Truth,
so that guilty parties can escape under code-of-silence, etc.
They wanted, in Afghanistan and all around, control of
the truth, to be able to manufacture the Pack of Lies and
mass-murder which our once-proud Nation is now
definitely Guilty Of….no more excuses for murdering
demonic criminals, getting rich.

The Polluting Plutonium Plants
“While tritium, strontium-90 and caesium-137 dominate la Hague’s marine discharges, the facility releases many other radioactive isotopes, as well. The 1995 release levels of iodine-129, for example, soared to 10 times higher than those of 1980. In a single year, La Hague discharged five times more iodine-129 than was released by fifty years of global nuclear weapons testing, dumping an estimated 40 to 60% of its iodine-129 into the sea.
Contamination from La Hague shows up at significant levels in seafood and seaweed near the plant, but strong currents also disperse the contamination northward through the English Channel and the North Sea, and its traces are found as far north as Norway and the Arctic. Studies suggest that radioactive contamination from La Hague may travel to southwest Norway in as little as 15 months.”
