‘Nuclear Controversies’, an informative video on the health effects from Chernobyl and the relationship between the International Atomic Energy Agency and the World Health Organization:

  • 2:30 – Agreement between IAEA and WHO – WHO cannot research health effects of radiation or effects of nuclear accidents if IAEA does not agree
  • 7:00 – Former head of WHO admits they answer to IAEA
  • 14:00 – Chernobyl had no effect -UN
  • 30:50 – UN refutes internal radiation; Norman Gentner, Secretary of UN UNSCEAR (United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation), ~2001 (See Gentner speak at 13:55 — No increase in leukemia, even among liquidators)
  • 34:15 – Claims internal or external it makes no difference

IAEA Exposed on Japan TV

Three years ago, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)’s research mission visited the contaminated areas. Dr. Shigematsu [Japanese], chairman of the mission, announced “there are no health damages among the residents.” [...]

Mr. Hirokawa, after looking at your video, I wonder what it was that IAEA announced there were no health damages among the residents. [...]

The local people believed a fair research would be done, because IAEA is an agency of the United Nations and a medical scientist from Hiroshima would lead the research. So, they were astounded that the mission had announced the areas were safe.

But, didn’t the mission actually see the situation there?

Well, according to the local doctors, the mission members didn’t enter the heavily-contaminated areas.

Besides, they brought their food, sourced from far away, and didn’t eat anything local.

Still, they declared it’s safe. No wonder the local people are infuriated.

If the mission found local food too dangerous to eat, they should have said it’s dangerous.

The very credibility of the International Atomic Energy Agency is seriously challenged, isn’t it?

Yes. I hear that when the nuclear industry of the former USSR started to do business with the nuclear industry of the US, they probably agreed that downplaying the damages by the accident would be beneficial for both sides.

        The Vigil for April 2012

"Since April 26, 2007, the Hippocratic Vigil has been held outside the WHO headquarters in Geneva, which now makes a total of 262 weeks without interruption. The vigil consists of a silent presence that aims to remind the World Health Organization of its obligations as set out in its constitution. We have added the name of Hippocrates to our description because of the ethical rules he instituted for health practitioners. As far as the protection of the health of people affected by the consequences of the nuclear industry is concerned, the World Health Organization ignores these rules.
The Vigil takes place outside the WHO headquarters in Geneva every working day from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm…."

I wonder if the IAEA can be brought to justice for crimes against humanity? After all, the law (international law) is clear:

    Article 2

In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:
    (a) Killing members of the group;
    (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
    (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
    (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
    (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

      (c) Direct and public incitement to commit genocide;

  • I came across an incredible report authored by 6 scientists concerning the heritability of radiation-produced genetic mutations published in 1956 in the New York Times.

I think this report is worth reading today.

Its general findings on the risks to our species produced by radiation-inducted genetic mutations remain relevant.

Indeed, they are even more relevant today.

The report explains that mutations to germ line cells often remain largely latent, but can accumulate to a point where the species cannot successfully reproduce.

Each generation inherits the TOTAL of previous generations' genetic damage to germ-cells.

I think the findings of de novo mutations among people with autism illustrate exactly what this report is warning about.

We are damaging our genetic heritage and at some point we will not be able to reproduce successfully.

That is, if our wars don't end us sooner

Here is my summary of the report

“IPPNW: Has the contract between IAEA and the WHO, which created a type of censure, led to a suppression of information?

Baverstock: I don’t know much about that. I find the contract relatively benign, compared to the real life cooperation between the two organizations. The problem is that the top level of the IAEA is competent in regards to nuclear questions while the WHO is not. The WHO is subdued in discussions with IAEA and due to hierarchical reasons, the low-level WHO-experts are not included in the relevant sessions. This leads to a situation, where, for example, water-experts led the radiological project of WHO.”

Thank you, Majia! Yes, with the availability of such a large amount of similar studies like the one you noted here, any scientist worth their salt should be able to see through the blatant lies purported by the WHO and their overlords, the IAEA. How any organization can seriously attempt to call themselves a "health" organization, yet be beholden to and restricted by an international NUKE organization, is a mystery to me.

The other mystery is how much money does it take to corrupt the WHO scientists who willingly lend their names and their reputation to put forth these lies and obfuscations??? Must be a heck of a lot of money and other "perks" involved, don't you think? Why else would any medical professional agree to participate in such a farce and embarrassment to real science and honest scientists everywhere?

Like most here, I am absolutely stunned and outraged that such blatant lies and propaganda is being put forth by WHO, the "World Horsepucky Organization!"

Here's one quote that especially stood out, as they are STILL claiming that studies are "inconclusive" on the harmful effects of exposure to radiation levels under 100 milliseverts, and NO mention of the fact of the precariousness of the spent fuel pools, and the fact they continue to spew radiation into the environment and our beautiful Pacific, or that the people of Japan (and the world!) will CONTINUE to be exposed throughout their entire lives, making their estimated dose exposure a bunch of malarkey!

"Infants in Namie were thought to have received thyroid radiation doses of 100-200 mSv, it added. The thyroid is the most exposed organ as radioactive iodine concentrates there and children are deemed especially vulnerable.

"That would be one area because of the estimated high dose that we would have to keep an eye on," WHO spokesman Gregory Hartl told Reuters. "Below 100 mSv, the studies have not been conclusive."

Gosh, Gregory, guess you've been living in a HOLE you entire life and haven't made any efforts to actually READ the MULTITUDE of studies available which demonstrate WITHOUT QUESTION the harmful effects of ANY dose levels! See Majia's blog at the link she provided above for starters. This was a study done in the 1950's for goodness' sake!

Wow. Well apparently censorship is alive and well and living at Reuters.

I tried posting a comment (which fit their policies for comments) over 1/2 hour ago, and my comment is still not showing.

When I tried accessing their "contact the editor" link, the FAQ page kept getting covered up in my browser so I could not read it. After refreshing the page, I was able to quickly click on it to access the feedback form…only to have my smartphone mysteriously shut off all by itself before I could even write anything…

I just tried posting another comment, asking where my comment was and where the other comments were, because the article still shows "zero" comments. Surely there are other people reading the article who wish to comment?

After following news since Fukushima as reported by news outlets like Reuters and AP, I have had a sneaking suspicion that Reuters is bought out by certain, uh, shall we say "special interests?"

At least AP did that 4-part expose on the dangerous state of U.S. nuke plants last summer. (Sadly, their young bureau chief in New England died of a heart attack while mowing his front lawn shortly thereafter…makes you wonder…)

No worries. The truth will OUT, no matter how hard the "special interests" try covering it up. It always does.

"WHO director general Margaret Chan said in a foreword to the report: "Worrisome signs suggest that progress might slow, especially in view of projected decreases in the funding needed to finance universal access to life-saving malaria prevention and control measures. International funding for malaria appears to have peaked at $2bn, well short of the $5 to $6bn that are required. While new commitments, such as those from the United Kingdom, have been indispensable for maintaining our current gains, they are not sufficient to achieve the goals that the global malaria community has set.""

"But funding looks set to drop in 2012 and 2013, triggered primarily by the crisis at the Global Fund. "This decrease will considerably alter the malaria control landscape and threaten the sustainability of the multipronged approach to fighting the disease, which relies heavily on investments in bednets, indoor residual spraying, diagnostic testing, treatment, research and innovation," says the WHO.

Dr Robert Newman, director of the WHO's global malaria programme, said: "We need a fully-resourced Global Fund, new donors and endemic countries to join forces and address the vast challenges that lie ahead … We need to act with urgency and resolve to ensure that no one dies from malaria for lack of a $5 bed net, $1 anti-malarial drug [or] a 50 cent diagnostic test."

      ERR RIGHT!

Dr Busby and Children with Cancer

"Chris Busby lays into the UK charity Children with Cancer, the largest childhood cancer charity in the UK, which he explains is standing in the way of finding the real causes of childhood cancer. He advises people to stop donating their money to an organisation that wastes it and which avoids looking at what is the obvious cause of childhood cancer, environmental exposure to radioactive contamination. This is clear from the recent studies of uranium particle exposure in Fallujah Iraq and a 14-fold increase in childhood cancer in that town. Nuclear sites, he argues, also run on uranium and release particulates, and are associated with childhood cancer. He accuses the conference committee of bias and draws attention to the astonishing choice of ex- nuclear industry British Nuclear Fuels (Sellafield) research chief, Richard Wakeford, (a man who has described himself as BNFLs Rottweiler) as the CWC plenary conference speaker on the relationship between ionizing radiation and childhood leukemia. He asks members of the public to write and complain to the charity commission and the trustees of the CWC ."

…"UN health agency upholds research on nuclear radiation, Google News, 5 May 11, GENEVA — The World Health Organisation said Wednesday that independent research on the health impact of radiation must be pursued without being influenced by the nuclear industry.

The WHO’s remarks came after a first meeting between the UN health agency’s chief, Margaret Chan, and Chernobyl protestors who have claimed the dangers of nuclear radiation were played down because of an allegedly dominant role played by the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Chan also pledged that the WHO would look into why the proceedings of a 2001 meeting on radiation and health involving experts from both UN agencies were not published…..”WHO agrees in principle that research should continue on the health effects of radiation and the research should not be influenced by industry,” the Geneva-based agency added in a statement.

The health agency reiterated that its cooperation agreement with the IAEA did not stop it acting independently out of its overriding concern for public health.

……..The group, “Independent WHO” has been campaigning doggedly to raise attention for people affected by the massive radiation leak after the nuclear accident at Chernobyl …"

    Kazakhstan’s nuclear legacy
    14/04/10 21:13 CET

"However, the closure could not reverse the environmental damage to the region, which has more than a million inhabitants, most of which are villagers. Radioactive fallout from nuclear blasts have given Semey and neighboring villages abnormally high rates of cancer and birth defects.

Local oncology centers are screening tens of thousands of patients, trying to detect and treat tumors at early stages. People living in the area are still predisposed to breast and pulmonary cancer.

Tleugaysha Makenova suffers from breast cancer: “I live in a district close to the test zone. Last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to have an operation and radiation therapy. I didn’t see any explosions myself, but my parents talked about the effects of the blasts on the people. My husband got cancer too – he’s already dead.”

Scientists stress that there is not enough research to link each individual case to radiation. However, it is clear that the nuclear legacy keeps haunting younger generations. Infant mortality here is five times higher than the average for developed countries. Embryonic defects are widespread, and cancer strikes teenagers as well as adults."

Watch the disturbing video at the link above. Here's the intro:
"Lawrence Livermore Lab & the Continued Nuclear Arms Race"

      March 13, 2012

"MEDIA ROOTS — Abby and Robbie Martin grew up in Pleasanton, CA, a city located ten miles from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), a secret nuclear weapons production facility. They initially set out to explore the psychological impacts of taking nuclear testing into virtual space. But as their investigation unfolded, they found that the LLNL—in conjunction with Site 300—has built an impressive greenwashing PR campaign cloaking a sinister reality.

"Despite a moratorium on nuclear testing, the nuclear arms race continues unabated at very high costs. In addition to the startling cases of LLNL's mismanagement of dangerous materials and 'accidental' releases, the facilities are still testing every radioactive component of a nuclear bomb in open air, according to sources.

"Malignant melanoma (skin cancer) rates are six times higher among children born in Livermore; melanoma has been linked to radiation exposure. And the amount of radiation which has been expelled from the lab since its inception is equivalent to that released from the bombing of Hiroshima…." (continued…)

WHO signed an agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency in 1959 to leave research on radiation and health to the IAEA whose remit is the development of nuclear energy. Breaking on NHK…7:10 PM, PDT, 5/23/12- WHO issues a report on health effects of fukushima, saying they are minimal. I didn't catch all the details (mSv. beqs, etc.), but thought you would be interested. the next story after this on NHK was one on the horrible effects of CO2!

Radiation fears block new nuclear plants
    Posted: May 22, 2012 – 5:17pm
    By Rolf E. Westgard

A new Massachuesetts Institute of Technology (MIT) study, released May 15, reports that background radiation levels more than 100 times normal background levels show no DNA damage in mice, whose responses to radiation mimic those of humans. Current U.S. regulations require that residents of any area that reaches radiation levels eight times higher than background should be evacuated. However, the financial and emotional cost of such relocation may not be worthwhile, the researchers say. DNA damage does occur spontaneously even at low normal background radiation levels which average 300 millirems/year for everyone in the U.S. That damage is fixed by DNA repair systems within each cell, or humanity would not exist. Background radiation comes from breathing radon gas, cosmic rays, radiation in human bones and foods such as bananas and nuts, and from medical procedures.

    hahahah!

MIT researcher, Bevin Engleward notes, “It is interesting that, despite the evacuation of roughly 100,000 residents, the Japanese government was criticized for not imposing evacuations for even more people. From our studies, we would predict that the population that was left behind would not show excess DNA damage.”

    Predict? From a mouse study?

"Preliminary Dose Estimation from the nuclear accident after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami"

[...] "Doses have not been estimated for the zone within 20 kilometers from the Fukushima Daiichi site because most people in the area were evacuated rapidly and an accurate estimation of dose to these individuals would require more precise data than were available."

From data available up to September??? Myopic, out-of-date, pointless, flawed, and false.

Dr. Wolgang Weiss, of UNSCEAR reported yesterday on NHK TV JN, that "…deaths at Fukushima show no signs of being related to radiation." I'm not sure the quote is exact, but it's close. I was at my PC at the same time as the news flash on NHK. Here's his bio:

"Dr. Wolfgang Weiss is Head of the Department of Radiation Protection and Health of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) in Munich…" yada yada yada~~!

I was too depressed to even post this when I saw it yesterday. Sorry.

dharmasyd, good to see you posting today.

Weiss, among other things, is a honcho at ICRP.

      http://www.unscear.org/unscear/en/about_us/bio_w-weiss.html

ICRP has received harsh criticism here and elsewhere for understating negative effects of radiation.

Don't forget, Dharmasyd, something I discovered this past year, thanks to Fuku:

When you see the words,"Radiological Protection Department," be aware they are funded by the nuclear industry. Their "health physicists" know what is expected of them, to downplay any possible negative results of their radiation monitoring.

As such, I've come to learn "Radiological Protection" means protection of the nuclear industry, NOT people. And "health"organization physicists have more to do with the health of the industry than the health of people.

Just something to keep in mind whenever you see those words bandied about in the future. "Paid tools" would be another good summation of their job descriptions…

Economics in the New World Order

The NWO no longer needs people as consumers.  The Era of Perpetual Growth is now over.  Those economics were unsustainable, but allowed the elite 1% to drain all the wealth created by the 99% forthemselves.  Now that we are no longer needed, we must die off.  Through sterilization, war, catastrophy, and poison.  The water is poisoned (eg. BP oil spill, Pacific Ocean by Fuku), the air is poisoned (eg. "clean" coal), and the food is poisoned (eg. Fukushima cesium).  The medications sold to us by doctors and big pharma are poison (they even give us radiation to cure the cancer that was caused by environmental radiation in the first place).  Catrophies have accelerated from the destruction of cities (New Orleans during Katrina), regions (Gulf of Mexico destroyed by BP Oil), to the destruction of entire nations (Japan Fuku).  All of these are man-made disasters.  They frack even under our own homes, spy on us with drones and cameras at every intersection, and routinely examine our e-mail and phone conversations.  And since we are no longer useful as consumers to enrich the 1%, now we must die off.  What kind of people are these, to make such a plan, and begin to carry it out?

Sorry for the rant. Just listened to Alan Watt video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBuVU2IBHcE. We really have to wake up to the fact that there is a plan going down, and we are in the cross hairs. Then we have to get the sheeple to wake up and stop this before the fingers have out throats in a death grip.

The people that are awake need to arm themselves and figure out a rally point. When it hits the fan it will be bad.
