Fairewinds board member Chiho Kaneko: Somebody I know from [Koriyama-area, Fukushima] has a Geiger counter and this person said that the radiation level has gone up actually, even after 1 year. Let’s say last fall, maybe radiation level start to go up again. How do you explain that? […]

Fairewinds Chief Engineer Arnie Gundersen: The radiation exposures are going up. What you’re seeing is a lot of this stuff is getting revolitalized. It’s in the first couple of inches of dust, and when the wind blows it moves into areas that have been previously cleaned. […] This will go on for decades, as the cesium goes down in to the soil, the roots bring it back up and into the plant structures and the leaves fall on the ground and the cycle continues.

Fukushima Daiichi problem not solved. And no plans to solve it.

It doesn't help removing beams and debris like on Unit 3 lately with its stirring and releasing more radioactive dust and some of those areas on Unit 3 are really hot spots as removal can only be done by remote crane work. The observers and spotters during removal are really limited to how much time they can stay due to all the radioactive exposure.

The site is a nightmare in real time.

    • This is really REALITY TV.

It should be on Prime Time Mainstream Media, but it's not.

There are others who have mirrored these meetings. Such as… Ms MilkytheClown1 on youtube. So it's difficult to tell how many have watched them. Not enough people watching that's for sure.

It looked like a total of about 60 people in the audience.

      side note:
IMO – I think Jaczko has a crush on PM Kan. 😉

Perhaps someone will post..a review here at Ene.

  • "…and the cycle continues." = True

"The radiation exposures are going up." = True

"This will go on for decades…" = FALSE

This will go on for centuries = True
    (Even longer for PLUTONIUM.)

The 'hazardous to life' calculation for cesium 137 is 300 YEARS or more.

Mutated California Cherries from Bobby1 blog.
California agriculture is something I try to avoid. But the radiation is all over the US now.
Minnesota, Montana, Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma, Georgia, New Jersey, and Michigan all reporting highest radiation in the US recently.
Bobby1 used to post a lot here. Miss you Bobby1, and hope you have time to return again real soon. 🙂
    Have a nice weekend.

PhilipUpNorth "But the radiation is all over the US now"
This should read "But the radiation is all over the WORLD now" & has been within weeks of Fuku p!!!

" Why did the radiation spread so quickly to the Southern Hemisphere?"
This is a planet wide situation and contrary to what you may have read, the Southern hemisphere is on the same planet! There is no shield at the equator!!The atmosphere does not choose sides!!! The ocean currents do not turn back because of a "WRONG WAY GO BACK" sign!!!! Wind, water, birds, fish, animals & even insects migrate North, south,East & west.

      • Toadmac

Sorry PhilipUpNorth I mean you no harm & know you didn't suggest it wasn't. I still get the idea that media & many scholars are trying to portray the southern hemisphere as a safe haven that is almost immune to any effects from this disaster/crisis/catastrophe?? Just by doing a little research even just on the enenews site, its easy to find the contrary.

        • PhilipUpNorth PhilipUpNorth

Toadmac, no problem. No offence taken. True, there are currents in the ocean that travel laterally, but only have circular eddies near the equator.. Yet, there is much mixing across the equator. Similarly, there are jet streams and weather currents in the atmosphere, South and North, that flow parallel to the equator. Yet, there is much mixing that goes on, North to South, and back again. This is why they call the whole Ocean "The Pacific." Nor does it end there, as the oceans mix, past Patagonia in America and past South Africa. Truly a planetwide situation.

In other words..It will go on forever.

    Its pandora's box..Its been opened..
The time to solve this problem was before.. By not dabbling with something man had no ability to handle..
We have plants all over the world.. And most are operating under the very real risk, this could happen again.. Its just stunning , perplexing.. Its beyond reason.

    • A Meltdown has occurred on average every 7 years.
(According to A. Gundersen over a 35 year period.)

IMO – There will be more meltdowns and releases of radioactive contamination. Where, when and how are the questions.

The longer these aging Death Machines are allowed to operate the greater the overall consequences will be.

The radiation will continue to rise for the next 250,000 years. This doesn't even consider the effects from bioaccumulation of radiation.

The use of nuclear power plants is immoral. Corporate media distracts people with lugubrious ad petty sexual indiscretions of politicians and public figures, while ignoring the deep immorality.

A well-crafted five-minute video sums it up nicely.
