They like the word "unknown". Of course they know, but can't tell us.
Report Comment
And this is a double…..kind of sketchy.

I think it may be toxic BS from the electioneers…injected into the aquifers in one state, only to bubble up in another…"Helicopter Ben" is going to plug it with QE4 …whoever wins… (just like they fixed the cracks with paper – or was it diapers – at FukuSteamer)..
Report Comment
Looks like the Fukushima coriums have finally made it to the other side of the planet.

Funny.
But in a perfect descent through the planet it will be offshore Argentina.
Back to musing per our national response writer with the broken shift keys:
The unknown substance is probably not oil because it is easy to describe. So I am thinking gas emissions. Maybe it's time for the fatal radio broadcast: "BATON ROUGE! THIS IS IT!"
Report Comment
And maybe its a mixture of all now ruptured contents of an entire cavern. All together. You couldn't write better plot-lines if you tried.
Man and his Legacy.
Report Comment
I would of not waited for the emergency broadcast my a$$ would of been out the first time they were able to lite the sink tap water on fire!
Report Comment
Not a China Syndrome, a Louisiana Syndrome….;)
Report Comment
Why goe to such lengths to protect "the caller"? Is it BP? I think someone on here reported that BP had owned the well. Why don't they just say BP called us and reported one of their old wells is releasing a $#!][ load of gas and stuff. . . Hu HU huh and like we think it might catch FIRE! FIRe FIRE
So we're gonna like hu hu go get in a helochopter hu hu and like fly over it shooting roman candles to see if it's cool.
Really who is running these organizations? To me it seems like third graders (no disrespect to them) who are afraid of an upcoming math test and don't want to stop playing kickball.
Grow up NRC and realize you work for us not the CALLER WHOSE NAME YOU CANNOT DISCLOSE opps, sry CaPsLoCk is on the fritZ

NoNukes, you just reminded me of a poster named Blondie,
who said to me once "If that fit on a hoody I'd wear it!"
about some rhyme I did. I miss her humor. She was on the west coast I think. Hope she's OK, along with WestCoastGirl and all the others there.

Blondie and WestCoastGirl two of the best We miss you both along with the rest! (my apologies, lol)

"Don't try this at home."
One of my favorite phrases.
I expect it soon

That is, before they don't show them at all.

Orwell…please please please please …a booklet of you spectacular prose? Even without titles, but they could almost be the enenews title of each page that you post on…thank you so very much for illuminating these often sad pages with you profoundly creative talents….

omniversling, all the informative contributions that serve to enlighten us all on these often sad pages are what humbles me.
When I headfirst hurtle with humdrum mumbles like a drunken hussar o'er hunter's moon tundra and stumble like Humpty Dumpty in brambles I'm amazed any huzzas greet my mad rambles.
Thank YOU!

I just hope you know that all federal jobs are NOT like that. There are many hard-working and dedicated folks in all levels in all agencies….and well, nuff said.

PurpleRain – Just caught your Nov 6 reminder, Thank You!!! When I think of the many dedicated professional well-trained mindful social servants I've known and know, I really feel for them at the unqualified accusations thrown. I had my share of this as a teacher – belonged to a union no less – the shame of participation in such a democratic organization! Same goes for technicians I've known operating in the private sector – they are too often considered some kind of "enemy". May all the falsely accused sleep well at night, knowing despite angry clamor, they do what they can in the spots they find themselves in. (That said, "unknown release of unknown substance due to unknown cause" does rather invite comment!)

People are fascinated by 'unknown' and it's going viral lol
Admin, good title choice

What brought this something/nothing so unknown to their attention, where it threatens to become "known"?
I enjoyed that headline.

Great Poems or-well!
I have been looking but can't find a map that shows the wells and ownership in that area. Anyone know a link?
Report Comment
not sure if there's a link on this site Penny, but a huge amount of data (nuke, weather, bases, waste dumps, HAARP installations – just for Richard ;o) +++++) is being entered by r3zn8d on climate viewer…really a great resource.

Also, see these two well researched clips of Idahopicker (a month old but relevant) who has joined many Southern State and Gulf dots with the North American Craton movement, seismic acttivity, methane bubble outbreaks, and subsurface liquification from fracking and re-injection:

Did little Harp become big Haarp?
HARP :: Hawaiian Rainband Experiment :: 1990
The Hawaiian Rainband Project (HaRP), conducted in July and August of 1990, used aircraft, radar, surface, and upper-air measurements to investigate the formation and dynamical and microphysical structure of rainbands offshore of the Big Island. One goal of HaRP was to study the warm rain process by relating the microphysical evolution of these rainbands to their dynamical structure.

The ‘unknown substance’ is all the crap you put in there, mixed and stirred
Report Comment
I think it's a safe bet the report wasn't made by a citizen … how many of us have a helicopter? LOL
Report Comment
Or the expertise to fly over and document / evaluate the incident. Sounds like the fox keeping watch over the chickens to me.
Report Comment
Thanks for the LOL everyone on this most bizarre report. The government is giving the money men time to divest, divert & reduce the risk of the unknown substance on their bottom line.
Report Comment
As I commented here a couple day ago. The government has long advocated for high level nuclear waste to be placed in Salt domes. They have been putting it in New Mexico salt domes for years. Who knows they may have put some spent fuel rods that would easily fit in drill pipe casing down in some of those salt domes is Texas, Louisianna, or offshore by the southern coast of Louisianna. They are getting radioactive readings in Bayou Corne by the sinkhole but they claim that its from deepwater horizon waste and they do use radioactive products in oil drilling and completion jobs. Hope I'm wrong but with their history of untruths and hiding stuff you never know.
Report Comment
I watched awhile back an episode of Swamp People(not endorsing), but it never dawned on me to post it here. Seems they know about the methane for awhile and during a show airing one of the hunters actually ran over a gas pipe and bent his boat blade. I now admit I had to look for that episode to re-watch and yes it is on there.. If you happen to look it up the show airing was called, Swamp People Season 3 Episode 4 – Monster Marsh released on 3-1-2012 from the history channel.

And we laugh at the gaff
while the cataclysm looms
that would have sent them to their tombs
that aren't there
Because they're exploded in the air,
and you JOKE LIKE REGULAR FOLK
while you KNOW.
You KNOW and can't be excused,
YOU ARE ACCUSED because what you do?
You LAUGH at the gaff,
You don't require that the dire fate of us all
be forestalled.
But by YOUR LACK OF RESPONSIBLE ACTION,
We will ALL be mauled…
It's on YOUR HEAD
That they'll be DEAD
Because you LAUGHED.
