Come ON, Whats next, Alaskan Penguins entangled in HAARP Antenna’s?

    • Ha ha! Love it.

Empire brought to its knees by wily squirrel,/b>

I betcha Chippy is really an Al Queda-trained squirrel.

Let’s send a couple of drones over there and sort out the whole lot of ’em!

The squirrel was seen leaving the site in the company of a large moose.

I have spent almost 40 years working with electricity. From industrial applications to electronics. Many times I have seen squirrels short across wires and blow a fuse on power poles and inside buildings and yes, large power transformers.

It is not that uncommon. If a squirrel bridged across the proper contacts, it can blow up a power transformer. It’s not that hard to do.

With all of the fire disruption to wild life in that area I am not surprised to here such a story.

Is it the truth, who knows, but I know it does happen.

      • ZP

A few days ago I saw pictures of a small deer (fawn) hanging on power lines and, it shorted out the circuit, blew a fuse, and many were without power. Seems a large eagle must have dropped it from above and bang, on target. 2h!t happens and it is not always some horror plot.

I do admit this nuke plant stuff is getting WAY out of line.

I mean it’s getting past stupid.

Grab that squirrel, boil some potatoes and have a good meal.

      • Thebes

Have you ever seen such a fire spread to an acre in size?

That part seems unusual, and although some media is just calling it “a small fire” other reports put it at “about an acre in size” which is small in comparison to the wildfires in the area, but pretty big for a fire at an industrial park

        • ZP

          Good point.

If a large high voltage transformer, say the size of an SUV, blew up, the oil contained within could fly out, covering an area of a baseball diamond. Considering the dry and windy conditions, the fire could cover a acre before you got to it.

Oil inside a transformer acts to transfer heat to the outer container walls where you see those large fins sticking out, to cool the whole thing down.

I know of one incident where one blew up and burnt many acres before it was under control. Just depends upon the conditions of the surrounding area.

        • ZP

Next time you see a large transformer, I mean large, with those tall cone shaped insulators on top with a chain-link fence around it, you will notice that within the fenced area there is large gravel stone on the ground. If sparks fall from a malfunction, there is no fire.

If the thing blows up, burning oil fly’s through the air and lands outside the fenced area. I wouldn’t want to be within 100 feet of something like that.

Yeah, An edit post would be nice, but security drops then…

Wasn’t a squirrel. One of the lab techs left a bullshit detector plugged in. When EPA and LANL announced that their Gamma detectors didn’t find any Alpha emitters, it exploded.

Donm’t forget about Jerry the Jellyfish.

      • Ha ha!

It’s true, the slimey buggars have been shutting down nuke plants all over the place. But, Jerry has other tricks up his sleeve.

(I think warming oceans produce more of them).

Eventually, we’ll have to take a look at the old wisdom – a much closer look – especially in regards to sustainability of ecosystems.

Our technological “brilliance” is killing us.

Mother Earth, and all her creatures, are groaning in pain.

        • Jebus Jebus

Don’t worry, a little more rad’s in the water and we’ll be fine…

Pu, I really do see this as Earth’s immune system kicking in to defeat the invasive cancer, humans…..a dangerous fucking parasite indeed!

        • dharmasyd dharmasyd

Same wave length. That’s why I earlier alluded to the jellyfish shutting a nuke plant as a manifestation of “Intelligent Design,” but not in the way the fundies mean it.

Rather: If we humans continue to refuse to see the “Evolutionary Imperative” and adapt the changes required — then the “Intelligent design,” the “Divine Wisdom” of nature, the laws of nature, the laws of physics, science, and all that is true will rise up in the form of whatever it takes — fire, flood, tsunami, earthquake, squirrels, jellyfish and all — to show us mercifully what is needed before it is too late~! Or even after it is too late! ~~~

          • TraderGreg

the “Divine Wisdom” of nature – I like it.

And now the Squirrel is blamed, well that explains it.

    • Discordian

This could start a new trend of blaming false flag events on various wildlife and or plant life entities. And the American people will believe it, and become afraid of Nature as well as Muslims.

    Check this out…
I was looking at the hires photo’s of Fukushima after the explosions the other day, and was zooming in on areas.

I had to capture these two zooms of #3.

We can’t post pics here so I posted them to http://www.datafilehost.com

  • Granny M

It REALLY was a squirrel – and to make it worse, it was an illegal immigrant squirrel that the coyotes brought over from Mexico, maybe even a terrorist squirrel with incendiary devices tucked in its cheeks!

    • theypoisonus

What a great post/idea/comedy of this whole horrible fiasco.

Come back and relieve us of this horrible ongoing tension daily again. 🙂

    • dharmasyd dharmasyd

The squirrel obviously was, as Sen McCain says, setting fires to send messages to its compatriot coyote & squirrel illegal immigrants friends.

  • Granny M

On the serious side, having declared the state of emergency over, it may be premature to “pull resources from LANL and re-assign elsewhere”

  • shaktasna999

Wow. The squirrels did it huh? I have got to change careers. Writing nonsense for the news seems to be a very lucrative way to go.

They really cannot believe it is time to pull resources.

The weather channel says there will be various types of thunderstorms and lightning at least until the 11th.

    . . . squirrels – whatever next?

Recently in North of Germany two crows (doing whatever crows do near electrified railway lines) were blamed for bringing a railway network to a standstill. Unfortunately the birds were burned to a crisp.

An interesting point is that the Chernobyl sarcophagus is now full of holes and many birds, as well as the rain, are entering it. Of course the deadly Red Forest of Pripjat is one of the most radioactive places on earth so it’s a dilemma for our feathered friends and the local squirrels.

I wouldn’t normally say an acre was a ‘small fire’ – a soccer field is 2.5 acres – it’s nearly one half of a soccer field! However, in this case, it’s a small fire relatively speaking.

      • Heart of the Rose Heart of the Rose

It just occurred to me that most of the organizations listed above by Beta Flare..have websites, email contacts etc…
Let’s write to all of them.
        Send them the link here…
Then it can’t be said they didn’t receive the word to REPENT.

        • BetaFlare

Yes, the shameful fools diggin their own graves.

The e-mails wont help but will work as evidence when books are opened, every deed and thought inspected… according the very same scriptures which foresaw current global burnup:

” The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
          And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
          And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

Unfortunately Technical Area 21 is about to be very much in the news.

  • milk and cheese milk and cheese

I sent this to the admin this morning.

    http://www.youtube.com/user/americanbunker

The video is excellent and very scary.

    • milk and cheese milk and cheese

The (black titles) commentary on the official video is very informative.

    • neminis

      Friendly suggestion:

Maybe map this stuff out before deciding to what degree to be freaking out about sensationalistic stories such as this one; keep in mind that this video clip is from Mainstream Media (MSM), which garners its funding through ads / viewership numbers. More sensationalism = more viewers = more ad money.

Here’s a screen grab from my Google Earth program, showing the current and recent fire situations around Los Alamos, and the relative positions of the Nuclear Lab and Tech Area 21.

      http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5306/5897420102_0514711ce6_b.jpg

If you’re interested in doing your own pre-freaking-out homework in the future,

      (1) Get Google Earth http://www.google.com/earth/download/ge/agree.html and learn how to use it.

      (2) Download (and install by double-clicking) the Google Earth KML (plug-in) for “Fire Detections: Current” (or download the entire “AFM KML Bundle: Current” if you want more toys) from http://activefiremaps.fs.fed.us/googleearth.php .

      (3) Google around to determine locations of places such as Tech Area 21, and set push-pins for them, as I did in the above-linked photo.

      ‘hope this helps.

      • BreadAndButter BreadAndButter

        neminis,
thanks for the tool. So I can just go have some post-freaking-out..

        You’re right about MSM/ads/views though.

      • milk and cheese milk and cheese

thank you for the Google map. The program won’t run well on this computer.
While I’m certainly not freaking out, I do recall that one fireman said the fire could burn ‘indefinitely’ and involve a hundred thousand acres. So lots of little things they buried out there, or didn’t store well enough, might make their presences known.

    • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar anne

The report on HP is to drown out the report I posted on another thread here. The report I posted said that the old leaking pipes and the earthquake caused the meltdown even without the tsunami, calling into question all of Japan’s reactors. REPOST:

Meltdown: What Really Happened at Fukushima?
      http://www.theatlanticwire.com/global/2011/07/meltdown-what-really-happened-fukushima/39541/
“It’s been one of the mysteries of Japan’s ongoing nuclear disaster: How much of the damage did the March 11 earthquake inflict on Fukushima Daiichi’s reactors in the 40 minutes before the devastating tsunami arrived? The stakes are high: If the quake alone structurally compromised the plant and the safety of its nuclear fuel, then every other similar reactor in Japan is at risk
.”
“But what if recirculation pipes and cooling pipes, burst, snapped, leaked, and broke completely after the earthquake — long before the tidal wave reached the facilities, long before the electricity went out? This would surprise few people familiar with the 40-year-old Unit 1, the grandfather of the nuclear reactors still operating in Japan
.”
“’I personally saw pipes that came apart and I assume that there were many more that had been broken throughout the plant. There’s no doubt that the earthquake did a lot of damage inside the plant,’ he said. ‘There were definitely leaking pipes, but we don’t know which pipes – that has to be investigated. I also saw that part of the wall of the turbine building for Unit 1 had come away. That crack might have affected the reactor.’
”
“’It felt like the earthquake hit in two waves, the first impact was so intense you could see the building shaking, the pipes buckling, and within minutes, I saw pipes bursting. Some fell off the wall. Others snapped. I was pretty sure that some of the oxygen tanks stored on site had exploded
.”
“’there’s been an explosion of some gas tanks in reactor one, probably the oxygen tanks. In addition to this there has been some structural damage, pipes have burst, meltdown is possible. Please take shelter immediately.’
.”
“’To pump seawater into the core is to destroy the reactor. The only reason you’d do that is no other water or coolant was available.’
.”
“Problems with the fractured, deteriorating, poorly repaired pipes and the cooling system had been pointed out for years
..”
“In September of 2002, TEPCO admitted to covering up data concerning cracks in critical circulation pipes in addition to previously revealed falsifications. In their analysis of the cover-up, The Citizen’s Nuclear Information Center writes: ‘The records that were covered up had to do with cracks in parts of the reactor known as recirculation pipes
. Cracks were found in the Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant, reactor one, reactor two, reactor three, reactor four, reactor five.’ The cracks in the pipes were not due to earthquake damage; they came from the simple wear and tear of long-term usage
..”
“The report said there might have been pre-tsunami damage to key facilities including pipes. ‘This means that assurances from the industry in Japan and overseas that the reactors were robust is now blown apart,’ said Shaun Burnie, an independent nuclear waste consultant. ‘It raises fundamental questions on all reactors in high seismic risk areas.’
.”

Mandatory evac order (but voluntary evac order remains) for the town of Los Alamos has been lifted and folks (about 10,000)) are filling the highway returning home.

Also the air quality alert has been lifted, in part due to rain yesterday. More rain expected tonight.

i think the technical term is a yakuza warning shot.
in the uk dr david kelly robin cook murder as suicide.
countless people around the 911 event have been suicided : ) died on airplane in car crashes.found dead in trash cans.
because serious high level powers are involved nothing ever comes out very few resolutions.
a gchq systems guy was found dead inside an adidas sports bag bent double at first the police thought it was suicide as the door was locked from the inside.
because the bag was zipped up and locked they then said that it was suspicious.
        nothing has happened since.
a war is going on and so far the elite are winning by many miles.

i suppose what we thought we knew, he really did know. he was well placed to understand the consequences as well!. question? why is it that in this topsy turvy world do men of charachter and knowledge, people who could probaly make the best of this awful situation, commit suicide while the spineless unwise are left to handle the situation…makes you wonder??!!

    • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar anne

Maybe, guilt over their past complicity. Or maybe, he was murdered because he was trying to make changes.

Nuclear News: Noam Chomsky warns of the threat of nuclear power
      Blogpost by jmckeati – August 16, 2010 at 14:52
Critic, linguistics expert Chomsky finding new contours at 82
‘BEIJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhuanet) — In his first visit to the Chinese mainland, Noam Chomsky, the 82-year-old world renowned intellectual, father of modern linguistics and perhaps the most famous critic of American foreign policy and mainstream media, warned his listeners at Peking University of the dangers of environmental and nuclear catastrophes. Chomsky appeared in Beijing as the keynote speaker for GLOW in Asia VIII, a forum held by the Generative Linguistics in the Old World (Asia) at the Beijing Foreign Language and Culture University from August 12 to 15. “There are two major threats of the lives and death of the humankind,” Chomsky said in his August 13 lecture, Contours of the world: continuities and changes. “One is the environmental catastrophe, the other is the threat of nuclear power.”

Chomsky pointed out that China had seen spectacular development following the reform and opening up in 1978; however, the problems of environmental pollution as well as huge social inequalities need to be addressed.

Wearing a blue shirt and silver tie, white haired Chomsky spoke tenderly, as laughter and applause rang out more than a dozen times…’

  • Curious about how people are feeling, and thoughts about facing what some see as certain death.

I’ll put this link in – a cello player who knew her time was coming up. But, look at how she saw that “light” coming down the road, the way she handled it all and somehow subsumed it into something unimaginably beautiful:

Not sure if this’ll register with the rock and roll crowd (I’m trained in classical flute) but, worth listening to. To think, some people are busy dreaming up ways of annihilating millions, and others ….

    Elgar Cello Concerto 1st mov.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5C99JyP2ns

Jacqueline Mary du PrĂ© OBE (26 January 1945 – 19 October 1987) was a British cellist, acknowledged as one of the greatest players of the instrument. She is particularly associated with Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E Minor; her interpretation of that work has been described as “definitive” and “legendary.”

Her career was cut short by multiple sclerosis, which forced her to cease performing at the age of 28, and led to her premature death.

Following her death, her older sister Hilary du Pré and younger brother Piers wrote a book about their family life, A Genius in the Family. It was the basis for the film Hilary and Jackie.
