Blanky, you’re right. But with the former presidents things weren’t better (Chirac??). Nuclear is just a religion in France. I receive the newsletters from “Sortir du nucléaire”, and I like the CRIIRAD team, but they’re just aloooone….a colleague of mine lives 5 km from Cattenom. Yes that’s true. There is a lot of money for nuclear in France, since 1973 in fact. But Sarkozy is very close to Areva and has a lot of friends in medias. And lobbying in France is strong.
Inhabitants love their nuclear power plants because they get employment. They think they are well informed. So..yes, it’s a religion. I hope we will stop that before we get a major accident.

Alright kids, I’m gonna give an update from the field even though folks like hard data. I have several friends who have given birth in the last couple of months, and I have avoided this subject matter with them because new moms don’t like doom and gloom and will latch on to anything contrary to it. So a friends 4 month old was taken to the er today with a prolapsed rectum which sounds like weakened blood vessels. Very rare she was told by the doctor. Next I have not heard my frogs for about a month now . Very disturbing! Thirdly, has anyone been experiencing weight fluctuations? I have noticed many friends bloating up like beached whales within a short amount of time???????? With the exception of a dear friend who started on a natural cancer treatment protocol in february ( which includes but not limited to: yes KI liquid supplement, raw carrot and apple juices, coffee enemas, and very simple vegetarian meals, b vitamin injections all to the tune of the Gerson method which I would recommend to anyone who has waning health, based on how amazing and vibrant she looks ,and her thermogram came back perfect through all of this chaos. Yes my friends there is hope! I would like to add that I think a chernobyl necklace can be present without surgery!

I don’t mean to sound pathetic or anything, so I apologize if I do; but I am feeling like this is the beginning of the end. I haven’t been reading this site for long, maybe a month and a half or so. Are there always constant reports of accidents at various plants or is this new? I feel so much like we are doomed; like we will all eventually die from cancer or some other radiation related illness. I have even have three panic attacks in the past few weeks! I never had that problem before. I am usually a very optimistic person. Has anyone else experienced this? It is very overwhelming.

Ariane, you don’t sound pathetic at all. You’re full of fear like many of us. The number of accidents in nuke plants has increased and will rise further, as the construction becomes brittle, while the greed grows.
That’s a fact, I’m afraid.
Now that your eyes are open, and you’ll not fall again for their lies, your life changes, and you’ll find a way to turn these strong feelings of fear and panic into action.
Go public. No nuke sticker on the car. Use less energy. Change to a supplier of wind and solar. Change your bank, if it supports nuke investments. There are lots of people in your community who feel the same. Find those. There is a lot you can do to feel better.

I hope we have a window of opportunity to make meaningful changes. Certainly the world will never be so naive in the future. Cell phone use causes Alzheimer’s disease among other diseases. I don’t see how the health care or social network will be able to handle all the people roaming around with Alzheimer’s. Pesticides disrupt the endocrine system. Herbicides kill the most nutritious foods which our culture considers weeds.
We need to make many fundamental changes to our culture. We could do it with education. We could restore democracy with education.
Will we do it? We can hope, or we can hope that God will redeem the earth. Only time will tell. I don’t think we can just give up. We have so many heroes as examples, those who kept on despite incredible opposition: Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Jr., Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and our Lord Jesus Christ, the ultimate example. All these and many more unnamed heroes gave their lives and/or suffered and through their example make huge fundamental changes to society worldwide.
As Christians we know that Jesus Christ will come again. Then what seems the end will really be the beginning. In the dead of winter we know that spring is just around the corner when the earth will come alive again. Hope and vision and perseverance are human qualities. We lose our humanity when we abandon these qualities. We reach our greatest potential when we have these qualities.

I agree with you…I tell myself daily that because I am a christian, I should not feel afraid of what is going on in this old world. However, I only thought I didn’t trust the government before now; I had no idea. Now I see all of these things meant to blind us, and I fear mostly for my friends and familu who don’t see the truth. I am not super absorbed in conspiracies, but I do believe that they hide things from us for the sake of money and power. It is just hard to come to terms with that.

Ariana … I strongly believe there is no conspiracy theory (I know lots of nice people will beg to differ here on this blog). But this is my honest opinion. We won’t be wiped out as many think. There are always been nuke incidents for as long as I can remember. However, because of Nukushima, people pay more attention of incidents as they are brought to light easier. But again they were always many incidents year in and year out. There is no master plan here, simply incompetent, careless and greedy energy companies that don’t care about people.
That being said, the danger is very real. Nothing is going to happened to either Calhoun, Cooper and Alamos. However, Nukushima is indeed a ticking bomb. It has already wreak havoc much further than anyone can fathom. So your fears are based on something really real but understand that this blog is more of a “speculation” debate than it is reality. I must say I love ENENEWS and is a great source for hard facts and accurate news. But some of it is indeed speculation. So don’t take everything that is being “commented” here as a sure thing. We are all very afraid, specially because of the deafening silence of the press and the constant lies from govt and TEPCO. You are not alone.
I love what breadandbutter said. We must transfer our anxiety into action. Many things we can do to give those morons a huge headache. We must fight back. We must unite and become a force to be reckon with. I totally agree with you and also with what breadandbutter said. I have been trying to post news pages to fb, thinking some people will be curious enough to click! It is very hard for me to accept to fact that people are so greedy that they will sit back and watch thousands of others poisoned in the name of big business! How do they sleep at night? I find a lot of the illuminati stuff a little far out, so I don’t believe this was done on purpose, but the cover up is being done so people will continue to believe in nuclear power. They also want us to believe that it is our only option. I truly believe that we have industrialized ourselves into a tight corner. The demand for power is so high, they can do anything they want to make us pay for more power. I am not sure that made much sense… anyway, I know nukushima will not fade away anytime soon. I don’t believe 2012 is the end of the world because the Bible says that no one knows when it will be. I do think it is getting close though.

What can the average person do?
The most effective thing I think that an average person with an internet connection can do is to promulgate the truth, the information about these deadly nuclear games and the many other pollutions which are threatening to kill this planet, as widely as possible.
We haven’t all got a platform but if we all do our little piece via our blogs and sites like this one the sum total of information being widely circulated will eventually be overwhelming and no amount of slick advertising and bribed lobbyists will be able to overcome it.
The authorities are not as tough as you think. Today, for example, the western border of Israel is in Athens. They have pushed it out there, because they are terrified of the threat posed by the writings of the Lennon/Oko Peace Prize Winner 2010, a 67 year old woman named Alice Walker, and the 100′s of ‘letters of hope’ she is carrying from school children in the USA.
There will then come a tipping point and we, as the saying goes, will overcome.

I, personally, will not allow those greedy bastards to ruin my future. I am not a religious person, though even I would say that the people in charge of those companies are an incorporation of evil. They are very powerful, and my way of battling them does not include prayers (except apologies to Mother Nature), but I prefer to make myself seen. Rallying, blocking railways, fundraising, raising awareness, spreading flyers, screening movies, getting on politicians’ nerves,…endless opportunities.

June 3rd, I’m wondering about the big picture here. Fukushima, Ft. Calhoun Nuclear Plant, Cooper Nuclear Station, Los Alamos, and now French nuclear plant Tricastin. Not to mention Fukushimas #5&6 and the Monju reactor. That’s 10 nuclear (clean fuel) reactors with major problems within 3 month’s time. How ironic.

i caught early reports on onagawa…when i looked it up with google maps it took me to the other side of the peninsula(the safer side)i had to follow the powerlines across the peninsula to find the plant…it has since been put back.. interesting point about the other reactors though!!
