I don't know when they-USCG- took this picture but Alaska this time of year is pitch black. No sun. I know because I worked on the North Slope.

Hey Jackassrig – The incident happened off the coast of Kodiak Island which is at the southernmost part of Alaska. They get about 5 and 1/2 hours of daylight a day there right now. However in Barrow Alaska the northern most part where you are talking about, they get zero hours of daylight a day this month. The video is legit.

Kodiak is not to far from Anchorage. This time of year no sun. USCG BS.
