  • Why does this former mayor keep hitting himself in the nose and spreading these false rumors?

    (sarc)

    • OldFool

Radiation (gamma from Cs-137 or beta particles from Sr-90, etc. etc.) damages bone marrow, including the megakaryocyte cells that produce blood platelets (thrombocytes). Blood platelets are needed to form blood clots. Abnormal platelets means few or no blood clots, which means much more nose bleeds.
Bone marrow damage also means less effective T cells and B cells and NK cells, which means the immune system (the adaptive part and most innate parts) will become dangerously weak.
Radiation also affects mitochrondrial cells that produce ATP, which is a cell's chemical fuel. Abnormal mitochrondial cells means less ATP, which means low energy for cells, which means people feel weak because their cells are truly weak.
The Bottom line – any government fool or quack who is denying that radiation (probably the gammas more than beta particles) is the cause of the symptoms is either lying to themselves or totally ignorant of basic biology. The Tohoku people should be evacuated – or they are simply going to die, starting with the weakest ones.

      • OldFool

P.S. Disruption of the Vitamin K synthesis by gut bacteria in the large intestine (intestinal cells are very sensitive to radiation) is another way that radiation can cause excessive bleeding and nose bleeds. Anemia, bruising, bleeding of the gums or nose and heavy female menstrual bleeding are typical vitamin K deficiency symptoms. But I have not seen reports of these other symptoms being present or absent. If they are present, that would support Vitamin K deficiency as a major contributor to the problem.

        • Actually, the beta – especially from strontium and any TUs absorbed – would be the more likely culprits for these particular health issues. They seek and concentrate in bones and organs, zap the hell out of marrow point blank. The spleen is a target organ (as I learned in my childhood during the bad old bomb testing days), which synthesizes/stores vitamin K. All of these people should have their blood tested, as that would identify the particular issues and their likely source. Unfortunately, the 'medical authorities' in the region are being restrained from doing such testing. These symptoms are known to appear on the way to leukemias.

Radiation damage to the spleen that results in vitamin K deficiency can be rendered essentially moot with the regular ingestion of dark green leafies/seaweed, which have long been a significant part of the diet in Japan. Now those sources in northeastern Japan are also contaminated with cesium, strontium and potential transuranics. Damage to marrow by concentrated radionuclides can't be 'fixed', though individuals may recover in time rather than develop leukemia.

JoyB, thanks for posting the information on the spleen and health. That reminds me, I increased my intake of green vegetables and pre-Fuku sea vegetables. Your input much appreciated, as always. Good advice.

OldFool, I (interestingly since you mentioned it) I also developed a Vitamin K deficiency, pancreatic & stomach acid deficiency, & a wasting syndrome after 3/11. Plus multiple vitamin and mineral deficiencies, which intracellular lab panels, stool, and urine samples disclosed in laboratory analysis.

I'm left with no other explanation than that it was all caused by Fukushima, as these problems began within a few months after exposure to the plumes, beginning around March 15, 2011.

Am left with multiple issues with my skin, lesions & purpurae which suddenly appear, then vanish, or linger. Every time jet stream is overhead, or CPM airborne counts are high, I get purpura on my hands (which got the most exposure post-3/11). There is scarring from being exposed to radioactive rainwater which had gathered in my garden.

Plus small complex cysts on both kidneys, and both sides of my thyroid gland. Supposedly "not a concern" now bec. so small.

Radiation burns most recently occurred about one month ago, coincidentally just after the SFP #4 had an accident. It was raining in California. I got a tiny bit of rainwater on my pants. By the time I got home, there was a hole burned into my skin. It healed after three weeks, but there is now another scar on my leg.

Have no other explanation than either radioactive rain, or rain has become very acidified on U.S. West Coast. Plus the "plume" in the water has supposedly arrived here, now.

Surprisingly, today I feel great. Have been working with great functional medicine docs. They can do a lot to help people with immune deficiencies and chronic fatigue. Nutrition is a great foundation for rebuilding health, plus herbals, homeopathy, understanding the mind-body connection, and improving gut function. Most of the health of our immune systems resides in our guts.

      • HoTaters HoTaters

OldFool, I agree with what you are saying. I developed chronic fatigue and IGG subclass (immunoglobulin) deficiency in three (3) different IGG subclasses within a few months of 3/11. I had no nosebleeds, but slept abnormal amounts of time (12-14 hours per day).

This, even despite sheltering indoors until the major rainouts stopped (late April, 2011). I was living about 45 miles northeast of San Francisco at the time.

Thanks to what people here posted at the Forum (many thanks to Anne and others) I was able to develop a protocol for myself. My immune system was already damaged by Lyme disease, and my NK (CD 8 and CD 57 natural killer cell counts were low.

The mainstay of the detoxification was NAC, Alpha Lipoic Acid, high dose vitamin C (We Not They Finally and others have good suggesstions on this), lots of Reishii and other medicinal mushrooms, chlorella, spirulina. I'd been on a regimen to build my immune system for a long time.

For those of you who feel like you may have RAIDS (including our friends in Japan), check out suggestions on the Forum.

Today my immune system has almost completely recovered, and my NK counts are almost normal.

It took many years to do this. Having Lyme and then getting blasted with radiation isn't helpful for anyone's immune system. The mitochondrial function issue, ATP and ADP function must be addressed, as well.

        • HoTaters HoTaters

But if one is able to do a proper detoxification, then rebuild the immune system and address mitochondrial function, there is hope for many. I believe most can hope for some recovery.

It isn't easy, and it takes time, but if the will is there, the body can often heal.

          Mind over matter.

I sadly realize for those who have been heavily exposed and have received massive doses of radiation (even though it's stupidly called "low dose" radiation), it may for some be difficult or maybe even impossible to recover.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this disaster.

But to go after a popular big fish like the manga author…they hesitate. Millions of Japanese have unspoken desires to hang the nuclear corporacrats from the nearest poisoned cherry trees.

The government low key approach to this public relations nightmare is a strong signal they are weak and petty rulers. Putin would have dealt with such an affront quickly, quietly, and decisively. The government in Japan is unsure on how to respond not only to the crisis at the Fukushima disaster, but also how to control the 125 million Japanese who are still alive and seething at what a few idiots have done to the environment.

Due to total no cooperation, I still have had zero help in getting the things I was told I need for life. When the idiot noticed I had no room, he told me to hurry, as I had just got on a moving sidewalk. The resulting stress from avoiding bowling over this uncaring man; sent myself, and my poor wife on MOTHERS DAY to the hospital for 7 hours, while I weathered the worst convulsions I have ever experienced! It's the kind used to raise the knees and it releases pressure from the spine.

Would you please write to me off-list? Maybe I can help. Could possibly purchase a wedge pillow for you.

I'm so sorry to hear you are still not well.

BTW, how can one recognize the Cesium in the clouds or atmosphere?

      HoTaters@hush.com

      • HoTaters HoTaters

I think my pillow has a 30 degree tilt, but I'm not sure now to make it comfortable for the lower lumbar portion of your spine. You might have to use a bit of extra padding near where the mattress meets the wedge pillow (near the bottom of your spine).

I can send you a picture of it, if you'd like.

Another suggestion, can you use a partially inflated therapy ball, and cover it with something soft and absorbant? That would raise and support your head and spine. You might need to use a pillow under it for your head. Maybe worth a try.

If this could help, maybe you can use something at home to build yourself a wedge shaped platform. Maybe even rolled up towels and or a blanket?

If I were you, I'd go on your local Freecycle group and ask if anyone has an adjustable bed they'd be willing to give you. Tell them why you need it.

You never know, I've had strangers give me a lot of things I needed for my home.

They are now trying to blame the surge in serious health problems in central Washington state on pesticides…….which makes little sense because they are used extensively over many parts of the country without this spike in birth defects etc. Pretty clever though. Pesticides are nasty carcinogens and do cause serious problems. And after a good dose of radionuclides, people are no doubt more vulnerable to their ill effects.

At some point the lies will be seen by the people to be ludicrous and ghastly. Then the real trouble starts.

Couldn't the same thing be said about all populations today,WNTF ? Japan needs extra empathy, their government is killing and lying to them. Rather like ours is doing to those here in the usa,and those around the globe. The aftermath which will be ongoing forever is the problem. The people in charge FUK'd in a beyond catastrophe way right back to the design of all these reactors, the insistence on saving the products of fission are needed – while no technology exists for the aftermath of fission. The whole planet is involved now.

The solution is the dissolution of the monetary system and a complete reboot globally with no singular group in charge and no banks as they exist today. (No leverage, no compound interest, NO GAMES! • I posted this in the ENENEWS article re the HBO film. I am reposting it here, as it would be an effective way to increase awareness of the nosebleed issue.

My first protest was an ant-war rally in 2002. George Bush was visiting Phoenix and thousands protested his arrival and desire for more war. I made posters with pictures of Depleted Uranium victims and everyone called me a raging right-to-lifer, which I guess I am because I believe the living on this planet have a right to life (though I support abortion rights). People were grossed out, avoiding me because no one wanted to talk about DU, which is far bigger than George W, Bush. It was an interesting experience.

Thinking back on that, I just had another idea for underground activists. There are lots of photos of Chernobyl victims. Print these pictures from the HBO special and other sources on the internet and put copies in newspapers (50 cents gets you access to every paper in the newspaper box). Print them on sticker paper and plaster them everywhere so people are forced to deal with this reality. Put these photos in doctors' offices inside magazines. Plaster them around college campuses. Hang them in your local coffee shop. Put the stickers on the doors of public restrooms. It is time we force people to open their eyes. It is our only hope.

Emotions are great to play to bring people into the fold, but $$$$$$$$ is what we realistically need. Crash the global system and reset or play the game and raise lots of money to just evacuate whoever wants to leave with lowest age first priority on up. We can't stop it, we can't clean it, but we can move people. At this point, I think if we really want something done we need $$$$$$ and lot's of it. The bankers, central bankers like their shareholders, are the ones who are enabling this. Without them, none of this corruption could be so widespread and powerfully monopolized. It's all money and that's the cold hard fact. Monetize the moving of people. Heck, a hiring firm could move people into positions and use their value of labor to monetize the movement of them our of Japan. A global hiring firm. From AP:
CARLSBAD – Investigators trying to determine what caused a radiation release at the federal government's underground nuclear waste repository in southern New Mexico have spotted melted plastic and rubber on some drums and boxes of waste.
They were able to take photographs of the melted material during their most recent trip into the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant near Carlsbad.
