from what I’ve read – 100 millisieverts per year and health problems start 1 sievert per year and you have a good chance of serious health effects – 10 Sieverts/year and you are dead. Those are for adults, children can be much more suscebtible.
That’s external radiation. If you inhale or ingest radioactive particles, then the exposure goes way up, because they sit right next to your cells
There’s also different kinds of particles/waves you get hit with. Many sources forget to distinguish between them.

Fukushima panel to query SPEEDI’s role as people fled to hotter areas
Government evacuation order to come under fire
A government panel investigating the Fukushima nuclear crisis is expected to state in an upcoming report that the evacuation order issued shortly after the accident began was irrational, sources said.

Feds make decision about Hanford contaminated soil:
http://www.tri-cityherald.com/2011/10/08/1671372/feds-make-first-decision-about.html#storylink=mirelated
RICHLAND — The federal government has made the first decision on how to clean up contaminated soil in the heart of Hanford, settling on a combination of methods planned to protect the environment.
The soil, contaminated with plutonium, is within the central 10 square miles of Hanford that will be permanently used for radioactive and hazardous waste disposal. Land use plans call for no one to ever live there and the area will be cleaned up only to industrial standards.
“This decision balances public sentiment for digging deeper with a science-based cleanup action that will protect human health and the environment,” said Matt McCormick, manager of the Department of Energy Hanford Richland Operations Office, in a statement. “This decision was based on the anticipated future use of this area of the Hanford Site.”

Moscow protest draws more than 100,000 anti-Putin marchers
December 24, 2011 | 9:17 am
REPORTING FROM MOSCOW — More than 100,000 people took to the streets Saturday in the biggest show of protest in Russia’s capital since the breakup of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s.
“Russia without Putin!” the crowd chanted as it protested alleged election fraud during the recent parliamentary vote that saw Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party garner nearly 50% of the vote.
Many in the crowd said they were fed up with Putin, who served as president for eight years beginning in 2000 and is now seeking a return to the presidency in an election scheduled for March.
“In 2012, we will clear the Kremlin of swindlers and thieves.” said opposition leader Garry Kasparov, a former world chess champion….

Hello All,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mu4NBs1dyc
There are many differences between all those who post here and some are not so inclined to be positive when contributing. Black is also a color in the rainbow, but that does not make it ugly. It is an inseparable part of the whole color spectrum, just as we all are inseparable from the One energy that we ALL Are.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/41/merrychristmastree12211.jpg/
What is true is we are many and we are different and there are lots of differences in opinions. The good news is, there is all this input around this horrible subject and the additions to the data base here keeps on coming from so many great contributors.
We are grateful for all you ALL share and proud to belong to such a great bunch of writers and intelligent commenters here. Everyone’s opinion is respected and honored for what it is. Their truth even if it is dark and negative. Truly, there is really some positivity in the care to comment even in a negative way so actually it is good to know how people feel, or where they are coming from.
Here is another Truth for all to embrace if you choose to. Tools for the spiritual tool box.
In life, we are only coming from one of two energies in all of our human expressions. We are coming from a place of love, or fear. If you observe anyone displaying any irrational or dysfunctional human behavior patterns, it is usually coming from a place of fear. Anger is one of those negative expressions that comes from the base of fear.
Report Comment
Cont.
On the other hand, we all instinctively know when someone is coming from a place of love. The actions, words, and deeds of anyone all show us where one is coming from. Every heart knows what love is, and easily recognizes it in all the beautiful various forms. When you see the negative type of expressions, actions, words, or deeds coming from someone ask them, Hey Man/Woman!, Where are you coming from?, Love or fear?
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/705/christmassanta122111.jpg/
Resolution comes from the identification of the fear, then the choice to continue to embrace it, or release it. Fear has been so well used to control and manipulate mankind, and more so in this last century. It is the first conditioned human behavior pattern in the spank most of us got when first born, and nurtured well ever since.
Upon recognition of the fear, one then has the opportunity to change your core of expression from this fear into coming from a place of love. That is where all these words come from and they will continue to come whether accepted or not by the majority here. It is for you and given as a gift in this holiday season. Imagine a world of souls always coming from a place of love.

Canadian Medical Association Journal Blasts Japanese Government: “Culture of Coverup” Exposing Japanese Citizens to “Unconscionable” Radiation Risk
“Written by Lauren Vogel of CMAJ quoting medical experts, the article states:
•The Japanese government has been “lying through their teeth” ever since the March 11 accident;
•The Japanese government hasn’t disclosed enough information for the citizens to make informed decision, with “extreme lack of transparent, timely and comprehensive communication”;
•The response to the Fukushima nuclear disaster by the Japanese government is far worse than the response to the Chernobyl accident by the Soviet Union government;
•The annual radiation exposure limit for the general public of 20 millisieverts is “unconscionable”, and there has been no government “in recent decades that’s been willing to accept such a high level of radiation-related risk for its population”
The article is literally trashing the Japanese government. Quite a contrast to certain international organizations who praise the Japanese government at every opportunity. But in fact, the second point above is in violation of one of the ICRP’s recommendations which says the residents should be made aware and understand the radiation risk fully before giving consent to the government policy.”

New radiation limits alarm local entities
Dec. 25, 2011
“A senior official of the ministry emphasized the new ceilings on radioactive cesium in food items were “based on the judgment that we should take into account permissible levels [of radioactive substances in food] that have been approved by the relevant international entities.”
The new limits were calculated by working backward from the figure of 1 millisievert of radioactive cesium, which is the maximum allowable annual dietary intake for an ordinary person, according to the ministry.
The 1-millisievert annual limit was set by the Codex Alimentarius Commission, a body linked to the U.N. Food and Agricultural Organization and the World Health Organization, which is responsible for setting international food safety standards….”
and this
“…..The official said he also was concerned about how to run the school lunch service from now until April next year, when the new limits are scheduled to be put in place.
“Given that the new limit for general food items of 100 becquerels per kilogram has been made public, it is hardly conceivable that we can get understanding from parents of schoolchildren about using foodstuffs containing more than 100 becquerels, even if the concentration is less than 500 becquerels in line with the current limits,” he said.
“We will have to refrain from using ingredients with radiation exceeding 100 becquerels even before April,” according to the official.”
