I think it was @Jec talking about the size of the red excavator. TEPCO will turn that concrete and steel to powder with that heavy machine. The tracks will gring it upand pack it solid.
@Jec is absolutely right about how they moved those heavy lift cranes in with being noticed. Perhaps at night. It takes huge trucks and low boys to get that kind of equipment on site.

The 17th–TEPCO shows no big cranes, but look over at the Daiini corner, looks like a crane there.
The RED glob on the 27th photo..could it be some of the 'jaws' for the larger destructo cranes? Also, the gray areas are buildings? Is this old and we just are seeing a different view? Or is this some sort of sheilding? Or just a "tent" cover? Interesting to watch.
Kudos to the workers there, damaged fuel rods mean its very very radioactive. Workers, knowingly or unknowlingly, are certainly risking their lives hourly.

Once again, only this time more serious, count 3 days, check jet stream and supplies, and PRAY this calms down. I'll be looking for the long version in the a.m. in hopes this is tired eyes only.
Each time I watch Fukushiteria, first I look at the EQs, then I look at the webcams. I say thank god each time there's been no quake in the area. And you're right, when EQs occur over there, it gets worse and worse. What else? I wish I didn't feel compelled to watch the whole show but wonder why so few people do.

What is that 'big kahuna' that slides into the left wing, center of stage? What an impressive deconstruction in progress! The steam and dust doesn't make me too happy though. The workers are very brave and courageous to do this work under these circumstances. I wish we could send them something to make their living conditions less harsh.

I wish I could remember things my grandfather was telling me about birds. It is true they are more active with their songs in the morning hours, and TBS camera has sound usually in the morning. In the past there were the cries of some sort of sea birds at daybreak, the sounds of the shaking camera, raindrops or thunders, now – this bird concert. But I have heard music and other strange things as well. Most probably they use records. And because of the sounds sometimes I think the censorship is closely connected with this camera.

I suspect huge amount of ionized gases, forming plasma, and this blue light could be from nitrogen ions in it. Metal objects with their free electrons and ions are suitable targets for recombination. This blue light seems near the top of a crane.
BLUE ARC seen over Reactor 4 in the video is similar to earlier videos in the spring and summer 2011 when the site was explosive. It was ionizing radiation..the blues and some greens. In the air, you would see blue "lighting" arcs, or sometimes green over the reactors. Scary and dangerous. Hope someone knows what they are doing..this is not a science fair…

I suspect huge amount of ionized gases, forming plasma, and this blue light could be from nitrogen ions in it. Metal objects with their free electrons and ions are suitable targets for recombination. This blue light seems near the top of a crane.

BLUE ARC seen over Reactor 4 in the video is similar to earlier videos in the spring and summer 2011 when the site was explosive. It was ionizing radiation..the blues and some greens. In the air, you would see blue "lighting" arcs, or sometimes green over the reactors. Scary and dangerous. Hope someone knows what they are doing..this is not a science fair…

Shouldn't somebody give Tepco a call and maybe tell them to be careful next time they use that crane.
I was also thinking just how LARGE of a 'bolt' that was.
Comparing it to the size of top of the crane it could be as big as two buses. (guess only)
