@jec I think it's just nightfall on the cr*ppy resolution. I watched the blue turn to black, lol. The TBScam is such a load of ……..(fill in your chosen adjective.} It's making sure we don't see what's happening to R4 :-( The recent picture from the inside of it makes it look such a nicer place than the outside looks, so I can't really believe them.

And thanks ADMIN for putting the avatars back – doing the happy dance now.

Scattershooting…Many hours of video cameras offline and missing video archives the past 48 hours…One day they will not come back online…forever. But Tepco will tell us things are fine.

You better keep an ear to the news from the few independent sources and don't rely on the government plant webcams to give you a final warning that things have become an ELE.

Yep again, 2 distinct dark smoke clouds from R4 first. Unit 2 and 3 looked very hot ahead of the large cloud (after the first two puffs) coming from R3 or R4 at 1:00 am. How long has it been since the officials visited the R4 swimming pool for spent fuel? I can't take my eyes off that reactor without it draining all water and catching on fire! They must have gone to great lengths to keep water in R4 sfp for the recent visit from officials. I maintain it's R4 that's smoking but I could be wrong. If I get a chance this afternoon, I'll post the 1, 2 puffs from R4. Check 'yer jetstreams folks. This does not look like the usual 'white steam' considered 'business as usual' in daily nuclear operations. How much more can Fukushima take? Everyone's dying. Can't anyone DO SOMETHING?

Even though the night view camera (both in late night 4/30 video as well as early morning 5/30 video) looks like it is in black and white, there is that flame-like color next to reactor 1. Yes KONDY Tepco is fogging up the place. It is the oddest fog I've ever seen…living along the North Coast of California, born in the Sacramento Valley, I know fog. I'm thinking theres something brewing at the Fukushitty complex. Problem I have is, if this was the SFP burning or falling to the ground, how would we know. Tepco is allowed to obscure our view from afar. Are they going to come on the air and tell the world that the pool is empty or has colapsed? Are they going to tell all of us to bend over and kiss our behinds goodbye? Or are they going to let it happen as it has, only letting those in the know, know, leaving us all to suffer?

    Report Comment

  • Sickputer

IMHO…Tepco lacks the skills to "fog" the buildings. This is simply another corium hydrovolcanic event (aka China Syndrome). TacomaG had it pegged 12 months ago. The only reason they have achieved "cold shutdown" (which in my opinion means they have prevented a total island dirty bomb blast) is by feed and bleed of billions of gallons of water which has cycled into the ocean as toxic water. Stop the feed for three to five days and the whole complex will explode as a massive dirty bomb. That is what will happen if the rod assemblies in Unit 4 drop to the ground or lose total integrity of the damaged cooling pond.

Yes…spread the word… Moving pictures are worth a million words:

Danger Will Robinson! May Day madness at Fukushambles! Advance it to 2:00 minutes into the 3 minute time lapse.

    Report Comment

  • Heart of the Rose Heart of the Rose

The fact that there is off-shore involvement is not good.
    IMHO.

    Report Comment

    • Well, it's pretty clear they've been expecting corium to exit the cliff for awhile now. That's what the concrete was supposed to help "catch." Maybe one of the flows finally made it? Think Hawaii whenever one of the flows of lava from the volcano hits the sea. Big time fog…

This fog, of course, would be a lot deadlier, and wouldn't necessarily 'cool' once it hit the lagoon.

      Report Comment

      • What-About-The-Kids

        Just a thought:

They wouldn't be doing any "dumping" of "hot" materials (i.e. spent fuel rods, highly irradiated water they've been storing) into the ocean near the plant under the cloak of darkness, would they?

Could possibly also account for sudden bursts of "fog-like" activity coming from the shore? (Though from what others here have said, this latest activity seemed to instead be coming from #4 or the Common Spent Fuel pool? Not sure…)

Please again consider calling Senator Wyden's office 202 224 5244. I have called twice today .. reminded his staff there that he expressed GRAVE concern about further deterioration of the plant. And is the only one who has done so.

Express your concerns about this event; give them UTube Fuku1live/long archive info and give them live links perhaps.

I also called my own state's senator and left same message and called a major west coast newspaper .. "please investigate b4 too late. At least have some staffer watch the videos/live feed available." Dropped Wyden's name and synopsis of his presser.

I personally can't believe Tepco didn't delete or shorten the archive vids. Maybe they ran for the hills and only autofeed at work.

The 8am fuku1live archive shows 2 (I think) bunnies or cats scurrying out of the fields as if in front of a forest fire. Also birds.

      @Majia,

I have preciously expressed my opinion on what Tepco does to the video archives but let me voice again. I started following Fuku1 on You Tube after they declared cold shutdown. I didn't know the archives existed unt then. Something tickered a vid on my newsfeed to Fuku.

It fascinated me; and I watched daily. There were fires every night which I couldn't believe were not reported. I wrote to news agencies; how the eff can this be cold shutdown when there are dancing fires every night. I studied and came to conclusion these were open air inceration "controlled" burns. When I found this site I found other watchers had come to same conclusion. Even tho dangerous and most likely illegal, Tepco made no attempt to hide them. There were not enough hits for them to worry about I think.

I googled fuku1live; orig. was listed as female who actually made comments on the vids. Recently g'd again and can't find the fairly extensive web history.

I did notice there were times and shortened archive vids.

I watched one particularly weird vid where a shower of sparkles burst up and flowed to tepcam. I signed out to see what weather was at Fuku .. raining?? Current weather was listed as clear. When I checked You Tube again that particular 3min fuku archive vid had 30 seconds of sparkles cut out.

So 1 .. IMO Fuku1 is not a live user anymore .. it is autofed mostly. It happened to me twice now that the full 3 min version is online and uploaded then just cut.

2 .. IMO I don't think they mess much with doctoring vids .. they either don't post them at all or cut them short when necessary. Just as deceptive and much easier.

On a more somber note.. The cycling China Syndromes on May 1 have been extensive. Lots of hot radiation and it bursting out in a very wide and long pattern. Could be very bad for the survival of human workers at Daiichi. And if they get knocked out of defensive action the whole island will be a massive blowout and the Honshu inhabitants can kiss their ass goodbye.

i've looked at ways I can help. the one immediate way, which i've mentioned on this blog, is donations.

So animal activist and anti-nuke blogs get my money.

I've just spotted the donate button on this website, don't know why i missed it before. so there will another donation in the next 24 hours.

if you like I can list my donations.

I am not from the USA. But you are right about the obligations of those who know. And you are right I have not done enough. The formal ways did not work for me. I wrote to AVAAZ 2 letters. They did not answer, but later they made a petition for the evacuation of children from Fukushima. You know the result. I just tell people what I know and what I see. Watching here and sharing what you see can inform people for the dangerous moments. Put it togeter with the winds and precipitation, and you have some idea when to stay indoors. I am lucky to meet more and more understanding from people around me, but it is because we had a good portion of Chernobyl`s rain, and the cancer rates, cardiovascular problems, infertility, etc. is easily seen on everyday basis. So, it works better for me. I refocused my attention more on biology, herbs and way of life, but some recent events made me expect unpleasant things, so I still find time to watch. And read the posts, too.

Know ene site is not conducive to reply .. unless you check back every five minutes. There's no notification that someone has answered.

Scroll back .. but I will synopse for you.

I have called Sen Wyden's office twice today to encourage his staff to consider archives .. and urgently get msg to him that perhaps the criticality he warned about was indeed GRAVE and possibly near .. today could be last warning.

I think I have posted here four times today his phone number and encouraged watchers who expressed similar unease to call his office.

I called my state senator who would be sympathatic to environmental issues and gave her staff same message. (I have called our other state senator several times in past .. can't even get someone to answer phone and take message so opted to do tomorrow to accommodate my work schedule) ..

Called a major west coast newspaper .. went thru long hold and rigarmorle to get to a least a live person's voice mail urging urgency; dropped Wyden's name even tho I had already emailed a link to his presser as news tip to them before .. also 4 other major newspapers.

This paper did carry the radioactive poisoning of CA kelp .. I sent that link to them too .. but can't take any credit .. just happy they reported ..

I don't really consider that very impressive .. or *majorly* time consuming but like I said .. hope you guys whoop my ass! :) sorry u r tired and grouchy .. but thanks for askiing back.
