I've been checking on the tepco webcam off and on all day and I have concluded that what looks like fog today is mostly steam from the plant.
It has been coming up from the area of unit 3.
I cannot tell if the other units are emitting with any certainty but I'm sure massive steam-like emissions with a pinkish-purplish tinge have been coming up around 3.
I came to this conclusion after watch the "fog" appear and disappear with amazing speed. I grew up with fog in the SF bay area and this stuff today is not exclusively (or perhaps even primarily) fog.

It's radioactive fog caused by summer seashore fog mixing with the never ending reactor emissions, the ground interaction of massive rainwater striking corium debris, and the radioactive water in the oceans from neverending leaks rising in the fog. A perfect trifecta of nuclear fallout fog, air, land, and sea.
The hottest rising radiation reaches the jetstream and will be in America (first wave) July 12. The lower particles will take ground winds 360 degrees to all parts of Japan and into the lower ocean winds (which take 7-10 days to reach North America.
FD had a posting 9 days ago on bioaccumulation in fish (fresh water bass at 100 bq cesium) 300 km north of Fukushima NPP. There is no place to hide for anyone, especially in Japan. The politicians can keep fooling the people, but they know things are very bleak looking down the road a half-decade. Mutant island.

OT slightly. Speaking of FD, have you been able to get onto the site today?? I can't at all. Get an error message that FD is 'down for maintenance' or that there is something wrong with the site. Hope he's ok.

Wind, I think, Stacy. I always watch the crane cables for signs of earthquakes, as they swing. They've been still throughout, so it must be a windy day in the highlands.

I've been watching both cams for about a year now.
Wind causes the TBS/JNN camera to shake. It's something like 5km? maybe miles? away from the nuclear plant.
Doesn't take much of a nudge.

Nuckelchen, danke for sharing your story about your childhood. I have even more respect for your work (and I already had a HUGE amount of respect for you!), hearing what you experienced as a child.
I am so sorry to hear this, and as you allude to, the fact that an entire group of children suffered from these nosebleeds makes it pretty clear you received heavy doses of some type of toxin…or radiation.
It is hard to say what it was. I do know Three Mile Island had its partial meltdown in 1979…but not sure how much of the plume made its way to Europe…? Just remember reading about more localized contamination in the surrounding areas near TMI.
I admire you even more for all your incredible heart and passion you put into documenting the Fuku travesty for all of us here and for the whole world to see, through the medium of your genius videos.
As always, thank you a million times over for your efforts. I sincerely wish you will somehow be rewarded for your hard work.

At 1:06 there is a flash down past R4.
In the TEPCO vid it's approx. 22 min. past midnight.

The usual "Worklight" in the Tepcam view looks different now – much smaller and more 'flashy' than usual. Almost looks like it's running out of power.
Also there is a lack of colours in the usual 'blobs' which cover up the bottom of vent stack 2.

I agree with you about the tepco light. It appears to be a different, less bright light.
Light emissions still seem to be occurring in the area though. And there is a faint purplish glow by the light.
Also, emissions can be seen coming from area of 3 and there is a redish-purplish area immediately to the right of the large crane

No worries Majia – I'm sure admin will realise it's ok. Yes, the 'worklight' area looks very subdued and I noticed the purple alongside it too. Looks very grainy in that area too – a sure sign of emissions chucking up
I think Reactor 1 looks feisty too, judging by the lighting next to the bottom of the big crane.
